Goosebump Enlightenment

she would hang them by the shelves,
lined-up like trophies
symbolizing surgical disasters
the freak show that is her masterpiece;
a jar collection of abortions
for the love of art.

she adored the attention
jaw-droppings, twisting faces, blank stares, flopping bodies
moans, scuffs, sighs, grunts, pants
she felt like a goddess
going against nature by mere will.

cursed through the ranting of the unborn
nibbled on by the information age
bored and anxious generation
withdrawn, alienating culture
ever shrinking, apathetic.

we have lost our sensibilities
we have found our niche
enlightened by fathoming the once unfathomable,
this woman has made us see it all;
now we are blind.
