Heart
Man's heart is wicked
And bitter
How can he hurt a child
And smile
The pain he causes never leave you
Even in your golden years
On his hands
He has the blood of the innocents
He rapes women and children
And his heart does not quiver
He retains the wages of his workers
He blames the poor for their plight
What makes your conscience dormant,
Your countenance filled with rage?
Eyes without a flicker
From whence you came?
Who is your originator?
You kick the beggar
And ridicule the homeless mother
Even poison the water
Is there hope for the heart of man?
Man kills man for spices
Man kills man for land
Man kills man for killing man
Just for killing sake
No compassion
No mercy
Just hate! hate! hate!
Where is our refuge
Who is our hope
Will this pain subside?
Will these wounds heal?
Messiah, I need a transfusion
Only you can feel
Only you can heal
Make me a new man
One that reaches out to others
One that does not steal
When it comes to life
Only you are real
Hold on
Help is near
Do not despair
