Imagining You
I write these words for you
yes you
the one that I imagine
will follow after me,
one who fancies the written word
one who connects with history.
Our family eternal
ties us together
the circle of life
that is never quite complete
beginning, middle, end
we merge
though we will never meet.
A thrill to know
across the years
our lives will touch,
when you read these
words I write
know I send my love
and know that
as I sit here now...
imagining you
sitting there then imagining me
I picture you surrounded
by a bustling family
and I smile.
