Quotes about disintegration, page 3

Abelard cries while he is writing

Far too long the time has been
and although I am looking
all of the time in my thoughts at you,
your image over time is fading,
like a very old painting
and in my thoughts there is disintegration.

The pain cuts right through me
and I must confess
that all of the time I am yearning for you,
even if I can only see you for moments,
I yearn to have you with me
and to hold onto you as my lawful wife.

Soldier Of Beauty

In this still place, a very shower
Is sprayed on the cloth or crust;
Does then the soldier blast the sky
With his discharges, now that he is free?
Behold him! single in the field
Of happy triggers, singing like a trooper
Of shots and disintegration,
Over the pomp and glory of his armistice.
Child of an ignorant war,
His path touches sentinels at the back.
We are in willing admiration
Of his war-like beauty, full of heaven.

Residents of Hades (True Romance)

Beneath the pink horizon of dusk,
Parting words will be spoken
Over my shadowy grave;
Someone I used to love and trust
Will remember how she betrayed me
With a burning knife
Seared into my wounded heart,
And she’ll weep at the shattered remnants
Of my lonely poetry.

And if she enters the state
Of disintegration
Before my own oblivion overtakes me,
This will be her final victory
Until we inflame
All the residents of Hades.

The Princess of Imagination

A woman’s portrait
Is falling off the wall.

There are friends
Who display cut-throat alienation,
Razor-sharp disregard
For sensitive emotions,
And love is a tattered umbrella
That does not protect
From a cold shower of loneliness.

Nightmare exorcisms
Have begun,
My demons rush me
Toward final disintegration.

And the princess of imagination
Has left me staggering
Beneath the weight of tears.

A Molested Porcupine On My Head

Regarding the daily disintegration of my bad haircut
in awed astonishment, the moth-eaten ends forming
the outline of a badly battered mop

No amount of hair-spray, coaxing and determined blow-
waving can save the mutilated hair from resembling a
molested porcupine nestling on my head

Even greater my fascinated discovery that hubby thinks my
hair looks good, I made five backward somersaults in my
shock at his heresy, how strange the world

That he should like my Last-Of-The-Mohicans outline today,
I suppose I’m not a crocodile any more, more an electrified
hedgehog from now on...

The Leprechaun's Treasure

Trace the outline of the symmetry
The slicing slope that cuts a mystery
Buried in the golden exuberance
Are the skeletons and the woebegone
Misery that the treasure keeper
Held amidst the tumultuous
Disintegration of fragrance

The greedy leprechaun schemed
Calculating the perched birds for meal
But never feeding his hunger, because
The brows bridging the voracity
For monopoly overwhelms its screams

A ruse to pilfer the cache of jewelries
Is whispering a strong reckon
A temptation to end and shatter
The streak of puissant exultance;
Malignant tyranny of sensations,
Platter of reveries and reality.

Dissipation

Do you remember...
one many sought?
Her beauty sated
was never bought.

Her conception mirrored
mounting hunger baited
passionate lusting men
had she never out fought?

But what of that?

Worms contemporary modern neuroses
consume intimidated fearful anxiety corpses.
While God solemnly commandment judges
his selected ripe first fruit for blemishes.

All bodies perfectly soul weighted
by physical beauty never swayed.
Tested by a rod of deeper Biblical measure

Post War Stress Syndrome (A Veteran’s Shadow)

relived agony daylight

hex-exceptional reflection,

yet assaults afflicted raw burden senses,

Tempus Fugit

TEMPUS FUGIT

Another day plays out, mocks time and place,
inseminating choice with seeds which chance
encounters may have made, or circumstance
contrived to seem haphazard. Steeplechase
Man runs against his life-clock tides a space
ephemeral which ends by happenstance
or slow disintegration. Yet the dance
reels on. The players differ, as the pace
speeds up and ever onwards to enlace
the dancers in a mesh where to advance
leads down the serpent’s jaws, but backward glance
turns fresh to salt yet halts not wretched race.
Yet often those opposing normalcy
are double bound by chains they seek to free.

Everything I Love

Dip your dreams in the slain blood society has poured
In the vampire streets of dying innocence,
Where hoodlums and whores practice gratuitous violence in the soulless city,
Where angels never existed and fallen roses from a lover’s bouquet
Have thorns sharper than razor blades
And mercilessly pierce
Everyone naively moving
To a destiny of eventual extinction;
Families perish beside Christmas trees
In perpetual fragility.
On the eve of disintegration,
Shattered ornaments
Rip into the flesh of unloved children
And empty stockings turn into a hangman’s noose,
Nightmares explode into hopeless minds
With blinding visions of fear,
Everything I hate is real,
And everything I love has disappeared.
