A Compassionate Deed

The spring water on the hill meandered its way
Amid the rocks, grass, and fern.
A compassionate man considered it as a potential site
Where exhausted hikers might turn.

He walled in the spring and hung with care
A dipper at the brink.
He thought not of the deed he did,
But that all hikers might rest and drink.

He checked the site often, and the spring,
By the end of summer never dried,
Had quenched the thirst of many parching tongues
And became a haven for the weary and the tired.

The thought was small, but the deed great,
To all those who ventured to the spring on the hill.
A simple fancy of the brain - a welcomed site,
And appreciated by all the hikers still.

Fooling The Boys

Shhh, the boys think I'm in the tub,
Here I am again, doing what I love,
If they catch me they gonna fuss,
Momo spend some time with us,

Hehe....they didn't used have time for me,
The tables DO turn you see,
Before I stumbled onto this site,
I was alone most every night,

Now they notice Mama missing,
Who's butt now may need kissing?
I have to sneak to lose them now,
Serves em right anyhow,

Its funny to me NOW they know,
How they really need to show,
That they want my time and company,
Things will be better than they used to be,

PH, To Me

When I joined the ranks of poets
At PH a few months hence
I found a group of people
Whom I now consider friends

Though, as a poet, I suspect,
I’ll ne'er be thought renowned
Still I love to show my work
Where it’s seen the world around

This site has been a boon to me,
Writing more than I used to,
And I think, by reading other bards
My own work’s been improved

I see this site as a privilege
And, one not to be abused
When angry tensions oft arise
It leaves me quite confused

Nuclear Is Safe? No They Lied To You

A list of non classified nuclear disasters
chalk one up for Chalk River Canada
rating 5 a “reactor shutoff rod failure,

combined with several operator errors,
led to a major power excursion of more
than double the reactor's rated output
at AECL's NRX reactor” then a big deal.1952

Entrant two Windscale Pile United Kingdom
rating 5 a “Release of radioactive material to
the environment following a fire in a reactor
core.” Toast a good year for nuclear disasters.1957

graphite core of a British nuclear “[weapons
programme] reactor at Windscale, Cumberland
(now Sellafield, Cumbria) caught fire, releasing
substantial amounts of radioactive contamination
into the surrounding area.” Radioactive fire.

Childe Harold's Pilgrimage: A Romaunt. Canto IV.

I.
I stood in Venice, on the Bridge of Sighs;
A palace and a prison on each hand:
I saw from out the wave her structures rise
As from the stroke of the enchanter's wand:
A thousand years their cloudy wings expand
Around me, and a dying Glory smiles
O'er the far times, when many a subject land
Look'd to the winged Lion's marble piles,
Where Venice sate in state, thron'd on her hundred isles!

II.
She looks a sea Cybele, fresh from ocean,
Rising with her tiara of proud towers
At airy distance, with majestic motion,
A ruler of the waters and their powers:
And such she was; her daughters had their dowers
From spoils of nations, and the exhaustless East
Pour'd in her lap all gems in sparkling showers.
In purple was she rob'd, and of her feast

We want to shut down the day laborer site. This day laborer site undermines and violates federal immigration law, and it can't go forward.
