The Jubilee Of A Magazine:(To The Editor)
Yes; your up-dated modern page -
All flower-fresh, as it appears -
Can claim a time-tried lineage,
That reaches backward fifty years
(Which, if but short for sleepy squires,
Is much in magazines' careers).
- Here, on your cover, never tires
The sower, reaper, thresher, while
As through the seasons of our sires
Each wills to work in ancient style
With seedlip, sickle, share and flail,
Though modes have since moved many a mile!
The steel-roped plough now rips the vale,
With cog and tooth the sheaves are won,
Wired wheels druin out the wheat like hail;

The Insane King!
Sorrows of the people
Thousand of thousand years
Give a poisonous pain
Just to lessen the sadness
I laughed, the laugh was loud
Before that I was very sane
Now I am a mad man.
Ha, ha, he, he, hi, hi
Is the sound my mouth produce.
People make fun
I don't react
As they are found
The blunt
The dullard
Dolling out dull
So I walk
Like a king insane
The owner of
The sun or moon

The Abnormal Is Not Courage
The Poles rode out from Warsaw against the German
Tanks on horses. Rode knowing, in sunlight, with sabers,
A magnitude of beauty that allows me no peace.
And yet this poem would lessen that day. Question
The bravery. Say it's not courage. Call it a passion.
Would say courage isn't that. Not at its best.
It was impossib1e, and with form. They rode in sunlight,
Were mangled. But I say courage is not the abnormal.
Not the marvelous act. Not Macbeth with fine speeches.
The worthless can manage in public, or for the moment.
It is too near the whore's heart: the bounty of impulse,
And the failure to sustain even small kindness.
Not the marvelous act, but the evident conclusion of being.
Not strangeness, but a leap forward of the same quality.
Accomplishment. The even loyalty. But fresh.
Not the Prodigal Son, nor Faustus. But Penelope.
The thing steady and clear. Then the crescendo.
The real form. The culmination. And the exceeding.
Not the surprise. The amazed understanding. The marriage,
Not the month's rapture. Not the exception. The beauty

What This Poetry Is Trying To Achieve
nothing and no one
saves us
from this life
death situation
now you must
realize the purpose of
poetry
it does not save us
from death or
hunger or
pain
though it can lessen
this misery
like a pillow in our
heads when
we really badly need

Character assassination
It is ghastly and worse than murder,
It strikes you from within even harder,
It’s effect very loud and clear,
Always you feel campaign sinister and smear,
Nothing can hurt you more than abuse,
Your life is at stake and you can’t refuse,
No amount of confidence you can infuse,
Once you are subjected then no one can defuse,
It will be hidden propaganda to put you on trial,
No room is left for explanation or denial,
Less you clarify damage intensity is more?
Leaving you in dilemma and shame in store,
No one can regain an old position,
Disturbs balance and spoils the composition,
Damage control exercise can lessen situation,
Credit restoration may take time for persuasion,

Night thoughts pour M'sieur Savin
Night thoughts
The night is still I sit alone
with just my thoughts for company
I marvel how the years have flown
and view the past regretfully.
On looking back I clearly see.
Decision which I made in haste
were often taken foolishly.
Mistakes which left a bitter taste.
Caused hurt to others needlessly
There is no way to transfer blame
It’s my responsibility.
I was a novice at life’s game.
Is all I offer in defence
Like all young men I knew it all,
which does not lessen my offence.

The Nurturing Seed
Taking life and love for granted,
It's simply wrong and greatly slanted,
For there is beauty all around,
Look carefully and you'll see what you've found.
As Spring turns to Summer,
The green of the meadows burst,
Giving hope to every comer,
As the lost ones are nursed
By those who have found it,
Whatever it may be, that quells the need,
To cry, to die, to move on or to quit,
As summer vanishes, they plant a seed.
Autumn continues, the seed still young,
Little do you know, it will soon be yours,
From trees, leaves fall from where they hung,
Your heart opens as do the doors

Present Intense
When everything seems to go horribly wrong,
And the walls of doubt start to close in.
The days are too short, and the nights overlong -
It can really make your head spin.
There's just too much month at the end of your money.
You're unable to make both ends meet.
The bills come at once, and it's truly unfunny
When to pay "Paul" you're forced to rob "Pete".
The distant light viewed through a long dark tunnel
Is, in fact, an oncoming train.
And your brolly transforms itself into a funnel
The moment it pours down with rain.
Then, just when you think it can't get any worse,
And believe that good luck will prevail,
You find out you're under some terrible curse
As your roof blows away in a gale!

Can Turn a Tide
Lovely morning can turn a tide
You may love to go for horse ride
Eyes remain small and not wide
Yet you go for venture instead to see the slides
I am not moody like natural bird
I look for friends on and never get tired
They may make our morning quiet memorable
I find it encouraging without any trouble
When nature is so blessed to give
I to go in for something to believe
The common friends to see and seek the closeness
As it is only means to live with and face
Some of them are very busy with schedule
They are obsessed with work and fully tuned
As time approaches near to get in time
We get lost link and think adversely sometimes

Counter Quebec Referendum Aug 18th,2012
COUNTER QUEBEC REFERENDUM AUG 18TH 2012
BY
JAMES BREDIN
The Quebec referendum is really our opportunity too,
Our chance to show them that our democracy can break through,
To counter the Quebec separatist movement; we need to change,
Binding referendums and mandatory votes should not be strange.
But how do we get our Ottawa politicians to pay attention?
Get the lead out and counteract all this apprehension,
Ottawa should come around and down to earth to help us all,
Our referendums in Quebec might get the separatists to forestall.
