Look Not For Me
Look not for me
In the kitchen
There isn’t no food for me
Unless in an apron
Cooking for the madam
Food, I can’t dare taste
Look not for me
In the garden
There isn’t any land for me
Unless harvesting
Fruits for the farmer
Fruits I can’t dare bite
Look for me on the long queue
Heeding the ballot booth
Amidst no shelter and food
Yet casting my vote
To an unknown patron
Who I’ll soon betray my trust
Look for me
In the dusty roads of Madombicha
And the shacks of Mabocha
Look for me in the pit of poverty
Despite my vote
Look for my black face
