Learning Curve

Running, running
myself ragged.
Sinking deeper
and steeper
into the dark.
No light shines
upon my face,
now sunken
and skeleton
while I yearn
for God’s grace.
Leaving behind
all that I’ve known
for a chance to
live a new life
apart from my own.
Gone to the ends
of this lonesome earth
flying and trying,
but always crying
out for the life
that I once knew.
Blinding and binding,
I attach myself to
those who can’t love
nor love me true.
Here in shadow
comes the night,
terrible and bitter,
not wholesome and bright.
Searching and hoping
for some way out,
I couldn’t say what
I wanted to get out.
Take if from me,
someone who’s tried
to live my life
but found I’d died,
to live life fully
means to live
a full life.
