Emerging From The Water, Enameled In Slime
We are stuck on ten second cycles
like the spinning of the earth
nothing really changes.
Forces change,
ages change,
animals cannot.
We continue adding layers
words and manners and ideas
and warmth will cover
until someone fires a warning shot
and all falls away
