Diving Veronica - re-post
Guiding us through light streaked haze,
points the crusted chain,
to overwhelm in shadow paint
a thing once loved, now slain
On her back she nobly rests,
belly to the blue,
lost to her forever
that rolling, dipping view
Demurely held by iron cuffs
and vivid coral bars,
our heroine waits in vain
to once again track stars
Morays peer, then slide away
and tiny fans withdraw
protecting Neptune's solitude
our rude descents ignore
And small fish nip our fingers,
an irony sadly lost
on ghostly still Veronica
who now bears all the cost
