Santa Claus Is Back In Town

Ooh yeah mmmhmmm
I was walking home on christmas eve
The whole neighborhood was fast asleep
The snow was falling, coming down hard
The place looked like a picture post card
And when my house came into view
I noticed something up on the roof
You cant imagine my surprise
When I looked up and realized
It was santa on the rooftop
And our house was santas first roof stop
The reindeer were quiet as a mouse
Didnt make a sound
Santa got ready to make his way down
He had one foot in the chimney
Destination our brand new christmas tree
I knew everyone was gonna be shocked
When I told them I saw santa on the rooftop
I tried to get home right away
But I was just a little too late
The gifts were laid out under the tree
But no sign of mr. sc
I ran over to the fireplace
But there was nothing but an empty space
Got everybody up out of bed
Their eyes opened wide when I said
It was santa on the rooftop
And our house was santas first roof stop
The reindeer were quiet as a mouse
Didnt make a sound

Gazing At The Sky

As I lie upon my rooftop, gazing at the sky
The only thing my mind will wonder is why, why, why
Why are there no birds soaring through the sky
The only thing my eyes can spy are black bats dashing by, doing the things they do
Why is the Moon so bright tonight
Perhaps to keep me stirring and gaping at the blue

Listening to the sounds of the night while time goes slowly by
The night sky is a wonderful thing that will remain until after I die
The night sky is a story written by the stars
Images from long ago come to me from afar

I can feel the moisture in the air and though it is cold, I continue to glare
I stare toward the east where the sun is soon to rise
I stare toward the east where the brightest star does lie
And I hear the rustle of the leaves as they dance in the breeze

The tiny twinkling lights are like a million fireflies
The night sky is a canvas with hues of black and white
It tickles all my senses. It’s such a wondrous sight
It whispers “Come and play, ” but I know I don’t have too much time before it wilts away

As I lie upon my rooftop, gazing at the sky
The stars begin to fade anew and the sun begins to rise
This feat does cause me pain, for I cannot see this artwork again
I cannot see this portrayal once more until the sun goes down

As I lie upon my rooftop, gazing at the sky
I realize I have had no sleep as the sun glitters in my eye
The bright beams of the brilliant sun streaming in my face
So different than the moonbeams dancing slowly place to place

As I lie upon my rooftop, gazing at the sky
I hear my stomach rumbling like a freight train passing by
The smell of bacon as it sizzles penetrates my nose
As the promised taste of pancakes makes me get up on my toes

As I stand here in the kitchen, hungry as can be
I could eat a herd of horses or a flock of geese, you see
But instead I’ll just have pancakes and bacon on the side
And then I’ll try to get some sleep until the night again arrives

Sun Green started makin' waves

I know it is crazy to love you
Its as crazy as Jumping Off a Bridge
But I can't resist the thrill you bring me
The adrenaline

Everything is a mixed up...
When I am around you
I act different...
But I act different around every single male

But its not exactly the same

I've Stopped Mistaking My Life

I’ve stopped mistaking my life
for evidence I exist.
I’ve stopped watering
palm-trees in a mirage.
I’m leaking out of myself
like sand through a crack
in a wounded hourglass.
I’ve stopped doing my time
standing up
and approach things more
like a circle
that’s been squared
by a reclusive hypotenuse.
I’ve stopped asking
how many legs are on a snake
or what does it mean
when things don’t mean anything.
For all the auditions I held
I never did find a stand-in
for the meaning of meaning.
I can hear crutches breaking
like dead branches
from the tree of knowledge
that rails like an ice-storm in hell
there’s no light for its chandeliers.
How many voices are in a secret?
How many theories in a thought?
How many lovers had to die
to keep one feeling alive?
I deserted the circus of high ideals.
I unfeathered my heels
and stopped trying to invent
new alphabets that would read like birds
before the first snow.
When you’re everywhere
there’s nowhere left to go.
I stopped telling time to its face
what hour it was and wasn’t
and started listening to it
as if it had nothing to say.
I stopped asking space for i.d.
and it stopped showing me
an old picture of me
with one eye.
A voice spoke
out of the purposeless undoing of the fire
and everything went up like smoke
trying to get a little higher.
I wasn’t on a mission
to save the souls of the trees
