Li Po And Sappho
Li Po knew
He was the greatest
Living poet in China;
He liked to drink
And fondly gaze at the moon.
A million poems
And haikus later,
No one greater since
Has arrived.
I hope,
In the mystical universe,
He gets to meet Sappho
Who is the greatest poet
That has ever been,
Even though most of her poems
Have been cruelly destroyed by men
Who thought kisses
Shouldn’t be that gentle.
