It seems like only yesterday
When we played under the sun
Swimming and skinning knees
Endless times of childhood fun
We planned for the next day
Climbing hills and tall trees
Laughing and running about
Rolling in a big pile of leaves

Those Tom boy ways I laugh
Building forts and playing ball
Riding bikes and skating away
Memory has recorded it all
Awkward times and shy ways
The scary tales we loved to tell
Oh such fun times in the day
Do you too recall them well

Times went on and so did we
Funny how time seems to fly
But time leaves us memories
And yesterday will never die
