Unyielding heart
Since he died,
her days are full.
Life goes quickly
and so it should
Since he died she toils,
works longer hours
has more hobbies
and new friends.
Since he died
her throat is tight
she hardly sleeps
the gap is wide.
Since he died
she reminisces,
recalls his kisses,
those warm full lips.
Since he died
her heart still beats
it will not stop ___
It defies her.
