On the shelf
It was a proud day for Tuna
when her time came.
She had her name on the
front of the tin.
The new folk at 69
took her in.
Placed her on the shelf
in their kitchen.
There she stood
for 50 years
forgotten and entombed
until
in 2005
the new folk
tipped her out
and threw her in the bin
replacing her space
with a large Paprika
and Mixed Spice
who we never saw again.
