The Farm
There┬┤s a cockroach in my coffee
There┬┤s a needle in my arm
And I feel like New York City
Get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Somebody get me to the farm
I got terminal uniqueness
I'm an egocentric man
I get caught up in my freakness
But I ain┬┤t no Peter Pan
Get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Get me to the farm
Get me...
Buckle up straight Jack
Sanity is such a drag
Jellybeam thorazene
Trancendental jet lag
Sanity I ain┬┤t gotta
Feeling like a pinala
Sucker punch-blowin┬┤lung
Motherload-pigeonholed
I'm feeling like I'm gonna explode
I wanna be a Hare Krishna
Tattoo a dot right on my head
And the prozac is my fixer
I am the living dead
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Somebody take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm
Take me to the farm...
Take me to the farm

Peter Bell, A Tale
PROLOGUE
There's something in a flying horse,
There's something in a huge balloon;
But through the clouds I'll never float
Until I have a little Boat,
Shaped like the crescent-moon.
And now I 'have' a little Boat,
In shape a very crescent-moon
Fast through the clouds my boat can sail;
But if perchance your faith should fail,
Look up--and you shall see me soon!
The woods, my Friends, are round you roaring,
Rocking and roaring like a sea;
The noise of danger's in your ears,
And ye have all a thousand fears
Both for my little Boat and me!
Meanwhile untroubled I admire
The pointed horns of my canoe;
And, did not pity touch my breast,
To see how ye are all distrest,
Till my ribs ached, I'd laugh at you!
Away we go, my Boat and I--
Frail man ne'er sate in such another;
Whether among the winds we strive,
Or deep into the clouds we dive,
Each is contented with the other.
Away we go--and what care we
For treasons, tumults, and for wars?
We are as calm in our delight
As is the crescent-moon so bright
Among the scattered stars.
Up goes my Boat among the stars
Through many a breathless field of light,
Through many a long blue field of ether,
Leaving ten thousand stars beneath her:
Up goes my little Boat so bright!
The Crab, the Scorpion, and the Bull--
We pry among them all; have shot
High o'er the red-haired race of Mars,
Covered from top to toe with scars;
Such company I like it not!

Peter Bell The Third
BY MICHING MALLECHO, Esq.
Is it a party in a parlour,
Crammed just as they on earth were crammed,
Some sipping punch-some sipping tea;
But, as you by their faces see,
All silent, and all-damned!
Peter Bell, by W. Wordsworth.
Ophelia.-What means this, my lord?
Hamlet.-Marry, this is Miching Mallecho; it means mischief.
~Shakespeare.
PROLOGUE
Pet er Bells, one, two and three,
O'er the wide world wandering be.-
First, the antenatal Peter,
Wrapped in weeds of the same metre,
The so-long-predestined raiment
Clothed in which to walk his way meant
The second Peter; whose ambition
Is to link the proposition,
As the mean of two extremes-
(This was learned from Aldric's themes)
Shielding from the guilt of schism
The orthodoxal syllogism;
The First Peter-he who was
Like the shadow in the glass
Of the second, yet unripe,
His substantial antitype.-
Then came Peter Bell the Second,
Who henceforward must be reckoned
The body of a double soul,
And that portion of the whole
Without which the rest would seem
Ends of a disjointed dream.-
And the Third is he who has
O'er the grave been forced to pass
To the other side, which is,-
Go and try else,-just like this.
Peter Bell the First was Peter
Smugger, milder, softer, neater,
Like the soul before it is
Born from that world into this.
The next Peter Bell was he,
Predevote, like you and me,
To good or evil as may come;
His was the severer doom,-

The Girl Is Mine
(WITH PAUL McCARTNEY)
EVERY NIGHT SHE WALKS RIGHT IN MY DREAMS
SINCE I MET HER FROM THE START
I9516;9508;M SO PROUD I AM THE ONLY ONE
WHO IS SPECIAL IN HER HEART
THE GIRL IS MINE
THE DOGGONE GIRL IS MINE
I KNOW SHE9516;9508;S MINE
BECAUSE THE DOGGONE GIRL IS MINE
I DON9516;9508;T UNDERSTAND THE WAY YOU THINK
SAYING THAT SHE9516;9508;S YOURS NOT MINE
SENDING ROSES AND YOUR SILLY DREAMS
REALLY JUST A WASTE OF TIME
BECAUSE SHE9516;9508;S MINE
THE DOGGONE GIRL IS MINE
DON9516;9508;T WASTE YOUR TIME
BECAUSE THE DOGGONE GIRL IS MINE
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN HE
TAKE YOU ANYWHERE
BUT I LOVE YOU ENDLESSLY
LOVING WE WILL SHARE
SO COME AND GO WITH ME
TWO ON THE TOWN
BUT WE BOTH CANNOT HAVE HER
SO IT9516;9508;S ONE OR THE OTHER
AND ONE DAY YOU9516;9508;LL DISCOVER
THAT SHE9516;9508;S MY GIRL FOREVER AND EVER
DON9516;9508;T BUILD YOUR HOPES TO BE LET DOWN
9516;9508;CAUSE I REALLY FEEL IT9516;9508;S TIME
I KNOW SHE9516;9508;LL TELL YOU I9516;9508;M THE ONE FOR HER
9516;9508;CAUSE SHE SAID I BLOW HER MIND
THE GIRL IS MINE
THE DOGGONE GIRL IS MINE
DON9516;9508;T WASTE YOUR TIME

Real Life
I wish that life was like it is in the movies
9516;9508;cause the hero always gets his way
No matter how hard it gets on that dark lonely road
At the end he9516;9508;s got a smile on his face
But when they threw me out to lions
Noone saved me as I fell from your grace
And noone wrote me new lines
For what I said wrong
What I did wrong I could not erase
This is real life
This is real love
This is real pain
That much I9516;9508;m sure of
These are real tears
These are real fears inside
That I can9516;9508;t hide
I wish that I could be a white knight in armour
With an army just to bring you back home
But I9516;9508;ll admit I9516;9508;m scared of dialing your number
Someone else is gonna answer the phone
Why can9516;9508;t it be like it is in TV
When the orchestra plays and you come back to me
This is real life
This is real love
This is real pain
That much I9516;9508;m sure of
These are real tears
These are real fears inside
I can9516;9508;t hide
This is real life
This is real love
These are real wounds I9516;9508;m bleeding from
And I realize this is real
I always thought that our love
Was a story book tale
God knows that I9516;9508;d never dream
In the end it could fail
9516;9508;cause this is real life
This is real love
This is real pain
That much I9516;9508;m sure of
These are real tears
These are real fears inside

The peter-bird
Out of the woods by the creek cometh a calling for Peter,
And from the orchard a voice echoes and echoes it over;
Down in the pasture the sheep hear that strange crying for Peter,
Over the meadows that call is aye and forever repeated.
So let me tell you the tale, when, where, and how it all happened,
And, when the story is told, let us pay heed to the lesson.
Once on a time, long ago, lived in the State of Kentucky
One that was reckoned a witch--full of strange spells and devices;
Nightly she wandered the woods, searching for charms voodooistic--
Scorpions, lizards, and herbs, dormice, chameleons, and plantains!
Serpents and caw-caws and bats, screech-owls and crickets and adders--
These were the guides of that witch through the dank deeps of the forest.
Then, with her roots and her herbs, back to her cave in the morning
Ambled that hussy to brew spells of unspeakable evil;
And, when the people awoke, seeing that hillside and valley
Sweltered in swathes as of mist--"Look!" they would whisper in terror--
"Look! the old witch is at work brewing her spells of great evil!"
Then would they pray till the sun, darting his rays through the vapor,
Lifted the smoke from the earth and baffled the witch's intentions.
One of the boys at that time was a certain young person named Peter,
Given too little to work, given too largely to dreaming;
Fonder of books than of chores, you can imagine that Peter
Led a sad life on the farm, causing his parents much trouble.
"Peter!" his mother would call, "the cream is a'ready for churning!"
"Peter!" his father would cry, "go grub at the weeds in the garden!"
So it was "Peter!" all day--calling, reminding, and chiding--
Peter neglected his work; therefore that nagging at Peter!
Peter got hold of some books--how, I'm unable to tell you;
Some have suspected the witch--this is no place for suspicions!
It is sufficient to stick close to the thread of the legend.
Nor is it stated or guessed what was the trend of those volumes;
What thing soever it was--done with a pen and a pencil,
Wrought with a brain, not a hoe--surely 't was hostile to farming!
"Fudge on all readin'!" they quoth; or "that's what's the ruin of
Peter!"
So, when the mornings were hot, under the beech or the maple,
Cushioned in grass that was blue, breathing the breath of the blossoms,
Lulled by the hum of the bees, the coo of the ring-doves a-mating,
Peter would frivol his time at reading, or lazing, or dreaming.
"Peter!" his mother would call, "the cream is a'ready for churning!"
"Peter!" his father would cry, "go grub at the weeds in the garden!"
"Peter!" and "Peter!" all day--calling, reminding, and chiding--
Peter neglected his chores; therefore that outcry for Peter;
Therefore the neighbors allowed evil would surely befall him--
Yes, on account of these things, ruin would come upon Peter!

New York City
Standing on the corner, just me and yoko ono,
We was waiting for jerry to land.
Up come a man with a guitar in his hand,
Singing, have a marijuana, if you can.
His name was david peel and we found that he was real,
He sang, the pope smokes dope evryday.
Up come a policeman, shoved us of the street,
Singing, power to the people today.
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Well, down to maxs, kansas city, got down the nitty gritty
With the elephants memory band.
Laid something down as the news spread around
About the plastic ono elephants memory band.
Well, we played some funky boogie, and laid some tutti fritti,
Singing, long tall sallys a man.
Up come a preacher man, tryin to be a teacher,
Singing, gods a red herring in drag!
New york city!
New york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Ha! ha!
Hey! hey! hey! hey!
Hey!
Oh yeah!
Hey! new york city!
Alright, new york city!
New york city!
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Hey! hey!
Well, we did the staten island ferry, making movies for the telly,
Played the fillmore and apollo for freedom.
Tried to shake our image, just a-cycling through the village,
But we found that we had left it back in london.
Well, nobody came to bug us, hustle us or shove us,
We decided to make it our home.
If the man wants to shove us out, we gonna jump and shout,
The statue of liberty said, come!

Sir Peter Harpdon's End
In an English Castle in Poictou. Sir Peter Harpdon, a Gascon knight in the English service, and John Curzon, his lieutenant.
John Curzon
Of those three prisoners, that before you came
We took down at St. John's hard by the mill,
Two are good masons; we have tools enough,
And you have skill to set them working.
Sir Peter
So-
What are their names?
John Curzon
Why, Jacques Aquadent,
And Peter Plombiere, but-
Sir Peter
What colour'd hair
Has Peter now? has Jacques got bow legs?
John Curzon
Why, sir, you jest: what matters Jacques' hair,
Or Peter's legs to us?
Sir Peter
O! John, John, John!
Throw all your mason's tools down the deep well,
Hang Peter up and Jacques; they're no good,
We shall not build, man.
John Curzon
going.
Shall I call the guard
To hang them, sir? and yet, sir, for the tools,
We'd better keep them still; sir, fare you well.

The Winner Takes It All
I DON9516;9508;T WANNA TALK
ABOUT THE THINGS WE9516;9508;VE GONE THROUGH
THOUGH IT9516;9508;S HURTING ME
NOW IT9516;9508;S HISTORY
I9516;9508;VE PLAYED ALL MY CARDS
AND THAT9516;9508;S WHAT YOU9516;9508;VE DONE TOO
NOTHING MORE TO SAY
NO MORE ACE TO PLAY
THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL
THE LOSER STANDING SMALL
BESIDE THE VICTORY
THAT9516;9508;S HER DESTINY
I WAS IN YOUR ARMS
THINKING I BELONGED THERE
I FIGURED IT MADE SENSE
BUILDING ME A FENCE
BUILDING ME A HOME
THINKING I9516;9508;D BE STRONG THERE
BUT I WAS A FOOL
PLAYING BY THE RULES
THE GODS MAY THROW A DICE
THEIR MINDS AS COLD AS ICE
AND SOMEONE WAY DOWN HERE
LOSES SOMEONE DEAR
THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL
THE LOSER HAS TO FALL
IT9516;9508;S SIMPLE AND IT9516;9508;S PLAIN
WHY SHOULD I COMPLAIN
BUT TELL ME DOES SHE KISS
LIKE I USED TO KISS YOU
DOES IT FEEL THE SAME
WHEN SHE CALLS YOUR NAME
SOMEWHERE DEEP INSIDE
YOU MUST KNOW I MISS YOU
BUT WHAT CAN I SAY
RULES MUST BE OBEYED
THE JUDGES WILL DECIDE
THE LIKES OF ME ABIDE
SPECTATORS OF THE SHOW
ALWAYS STAYING LOW
THE GAME IS ON AGAIN
A LOVER OR A FRIEND
A BIG THING OR A SMALL
THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL

Amazed
somtimes i think i9516;9508;m gonna drown
cause everyone around9516;9508;s so hollow
and i9516;9508;m alone
somtimes i think i9516;9508;m going down
but no one makes a sound
they follow
and i9516;9508;m alone
yeah if i make it i9516;9508;d be amazed
just to find tomorrow
yeah one more day and i9516;9508;d be amazed
just to see it waiting
yeah and if i make it i9516;9508;m still alone
no more hope for better days
but if icould change
then i9516;9508;d really be amazed
and when you know you can9516;9508;t go on
9516;9508;cause everything is wrong
your heart braekes
no one9516;9508; there
and when you know you can9516;9508;t relate

your heart brakes
no one cares

TOMORROW I9516;9508;LL MISS YOU
REMEMBER I9516;9508;LL ALWAYS BE TRUE
AND THEN WHILE I9516;9508;M AWAY

I9516;9508;LL PRETEND THAT I9516;9508;M KISSING

I Saw It Myself (Short Verse Drama)
Dramatis Personae: Adrian, his wife Ester, his sisters Rebecca and Johanna, his mother Elizabeth, the high priest Chiapas, the disciple Simon Peter, the disciple John, Mary Magdalene, worshipers, priests, two angels and Jesus Christ.
Act I
Scene I.- Adrian’s house in Jerusalem. Adrian has just returned home after a business journey in Galilee, in time to attend the Passover feast. He sits at the table with his wife Ester and his sisters, Rebecca and Johanna. It’s just before sunset on the Friday afternoon.
Adrian. (Somewhat puzzled) Strange things are happening,
some say demons dwell upon the earth,
others angelic beings, miracles take place
and all of this when they had put a man to death,
had crucified a criminal. Everybody knows
the cross is used for degenerates only!
Rebecca. (With a pleasant voice) Such harsh words used,
for a good, a great man brother?
They say that without charge
he healed the sick, brought back sight,
cured leprosy, even made some more food,
from a few fishes and loafs of bread…
Adrian. (Somewhat harsh) They say many things!
That he rode into Jerusalem
to be crowned as the new king,
was a rebel against the state,
even claimed to be
the very Son of God,
now that is blasphemy
if there is no truth to it!
Johanna. I met him once.
He’s not the man
that you make him, brother.
There was a strange tranquilly to Him.
Some would say a divine presence,
while He spoke of love that is selfless,
visited the sick, the poor
and even the destitute, even harlots.
Adrian. (Looks up) There you have it!
Harlots! Tax collecting thieves!
A man is know by his friends,
or so they say and probably
there is some truth to it.
Ester. Husband, do not be so quick to judge.
I have seen Him myself, have seen
Roman soldiers marching Him to the hill
to take His life, with a angry crowd
following and mocking Him.

NOTHING IS REAL

I HAVE HELD THE HAND OF THE DEVIL

BUT I STILL HAVEN9516;9508;T FOUND WHAT I9516;9508;M LOOKING FOR
I BELIEVE IN THE KINGDOM COME
THEN ALL THE COLOURS WILL BLEED INTO ONE
BUT YES I9516;9508;M STILL RUNNING

YOU LOOSED THE CHAINS
YOU CARRIED THE CROSS

Hymn to Pan
Thrill with lissome lust of the light,
O man ! My man !
Come careering out of the night
Of Pan ! Io Pan .
Io Pan ! Io Pan ! Come over the sea
From Sicily and from Arcady !
Roaming as Bacchus, with fauns and pards
And nymphs and styrs for thy guards,
On a milk-white ass, come over the sea
To me, to me,
Coem with Apollo in bridal dress
(Spheperdess and pythoness)
Come with Artemis, silken shod,
And wash thy white thigh, beautiful God,
In the moon, of the woods, on the marble mount,
The dimpled dawn of of the amber fount !
Dip the purple of passionate prayer
In the crimson shrine, the scarlet snare,
The soul that startles in eyes of blue
To watch thy wantoness weeping through
The tangled grove, the gnarled bole
Of the living tree that is spirit and soul
And body and brain -come over the sea,
(Io Pan ! Io Pan !)
Devil or god, to me, to me,
My man ! my man !
Come with trumpets sounding shrill
Over the hill !
Come with drums low muttering
From the spring !
Come with flute and come with pipe !
Am I not ripe ?
I, who wait and writhe and wrestle
With air that hath no boughs to nestle
My body, weary of empty clasp,
Strong as a lion, and sharp as an asp-
Come, O come !
I am numb
With the lonely lust of devildom.
Thrust the sword through the galling fetter,
All devourer, all begetter;
Give me the sign of the Open Eye
And the token erect of thorny thigh
And the word of madness and mystery,
O pan ! Io Pan !
Io Pan ! Io Pan ! Pan Pan ! Pan,
I am a man:
Do as thou wilt, as a great god can,
O Pan ! Io Pan !
Io pan ! Io Pan Pan ! Iam awake

Girl
IS THERE ANYBODY GOING TO LISTEN TO MY STORY
ALL ABOUT THE GIRL WHO CAME TO STAY?
SHE9516;9508;S THE KIND OF GIRL YOU WANT SO MUCH
IT MAKES YOU SORRY
STILL YOU DON9516;9508;T REGRET A SINGLE DAY
AH GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!
WHEN I THINK OF ALL THE TIMES
I9516;9508;VE TRIED SO HARD TO LEAVE HER
SHE WILL TURN TO ME AND START TO CRY
AND SHE PROMISES THE EARTH TO ME
AND I BELIEVE HER
AFTER ALL THIS TIME I DON9516;9508;T KNOW WHY
AH GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!
SHE9516;9508;S THE KIND OF GIRL WHO PUTS YOU DOWN
WHEN FRIENDS ARE THERE
YOU FEEL A FOOL
WHEN YOU SAY SHE9516;9508;S LOOKING GOOD
SHE ACTS AS IF IT9516;9508;S UNDERSTOOD
SHE9516;9508;S COOL OH! OH! OH!
GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!
WAS SHE TOLD WHEN SHE WAS YOUNG
THAT PAIN WOULD LEAD TO PLEASURE?
DID SHE UNDERSTAND IT WHEN THEY SAID
THAT A MAN MUST BREAK HIS BACK
TO EARN HIS DAY OF LEISURE?
WILL SHE STILL BELIEVE IT WHEN HE9516;9508;S DEAD?
OH GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!

IT9516;9508;S A HUMAN SIGN
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
WHEN THE SCENT OF HER LINGERS
AND TEMPTATION9516;9508;S STRONG
INTO THE BOUNDRY
OF EACH MARRIED MAN
SWEET DECEIT COMES CALLIN9516;9508;
AND NEGATIVITY LANDS
COLD COLD HEART
HARD DONE BY YOU
SOME THINGS LOOK BETTER BABY
JUST PASSIN9516;9508;THROUGH
AND IT9516;9508;S NO SACRIFICE
JUST A SIMPLE WORD
IT9516;9508;S TWO HEARTS LIVING
IN TWO SEPARATE WORLDS
BUT IT9516;9508;S NO SACRIFICE
NO SACRIFICE
IT9516;9508;S NO SACRIFICE AT ALL
MUTUAL MISUNDERSTANDING
AFTER THE FACT
SENSITIVITY BUILDS A PRISON
IN THE FINAL ACT
WE LOSE DIRECTION
NO STONE UNTURNED
NO TEARS TO DAMN YOU
WHEN JEALOUSLY BURNS
COLD COLD HEART
HARD DONE BY YOU
SOME THINGS LOOK BETTER BABY
JUST PASSING THROUGH
AND IT9516;9508;S NO SACRIFICE
JUST A SIMPLE WORD...

Everybody Wants To Rule The World
WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE
THERE9516;9508;S NO TURNING BACK
EVEN WHILE WE SLEEP
WE WILL FIND YOU
ACTING ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOUR
TURN YOUR BACK ON MOTHER NATURE
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
IT9516;9508;S MY OWN DESIGN
IT9516;9508;S MY OWN REMORSE
HELP ME TO DECIDE
HELP ME MAKE THE MOST OF
FREEDOM AND OF PLEASURE
NOTHING EVER LASTS FOREVER
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
THERE9516;9508;S A ROOM WHERE THE LIGHT WON9516;9508;T FIND YOU
HOLDING HANDS WHILE THE WALLS COME TUMBLING DOWN
WHEN THEY DO I9516;9508;LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU
SO GLAD WE9516;9508;VE ALMOST MADE IT
SO SAD THEY HAD TO FADE IT
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
I CAN9516;9508;T STAND THIS INDECISION
MARRIED WITH A LACK OF VISION
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE
SAY THAT YOU9516;9508;LL NEVER

The Borough. Letter XXII: Peter Grimes
Old Peter Grimes made fishing his employ,
His wife he cabin'd with him and his boy,
And seem'd that life laborious to enjoy:
To town came quiet Peter with his fish,
And had of all a civil word and wish.
He left his trade upon the sabbath-day,
And took young Peter in his hand to pray:
But soon the stubborn boy from care broke loose,
At first refused, then added his abuse:
His father's love he scorn'd, his power defied,
But being drunk, wept sorely when he died.
Yes! then he wept, and to his mind there came
Much of his conduct, and he felt the shame,--
How he had oft the good old man reviled,
And never paid the duty of a child;
How, when the father in his Bible read,
He in contempt and anger left the shed:
"It is the word of life," the parent cried;
--"This is the life itself," the boy replied;
And while old Peter in amazement stood,
Gave the hot spirit to his boiling blood:--
How he, with oath and furious speech, began
To prove his freedom and assert the man;
And when the parent check'd his impious rage,
How he had cursed the tyranny of age,--
Nay, once had dealt the sacrilegious blow
On his bare head, and laid his parent low;
The father groan'd--"If thou art old," said he,
"And hast a son--thou wilt remember me:
Thy mother left me in a happy time,
Thou kill'dst not her--Heav'n spares the double-crime."
On an inn-settle, in his maudlin grief,
This he revolved, and drank for his relief.
Now lived the youth in freedom, but debarr'd
From constant pleasure, and he thought it hard;
Hard that he could not every wish obey,
But must awhile relinquish ale and play;
Hard! that he could not to his cards attend,
But must acquire the money he would spend.
With greedy eye he look'd on all he saw,
He knew not justice, and he laugh'd at law;
On all he mark'd he stretch'd his ready hand;
He fish'd by water, and he filch'd by land:
Oft in the night has Peter dropp'd his oar,
Fled from his boat and sought for prey on shore;
Oft up the hedge-row glided, on his back
