Ahhh Life
It's strange I have to say,
Sometimes...
When I stop and look,
Really look at myself and who I've become...
I don't think
If I saw the old me, somewhere on the street
She'd recognize herself;
This Me, I've become.
Don't get me wrong,
By no means do I regret the decisions I've made...
They were best for their time.
But,
Sometimes I stop and wonder...
What would have happened
If we'd gone through with our plans?
If we would have gotten married,
Had the kids we'd talked about.
If things hadn't
Ended
So
Suddenly.
If we would have moved out of state like we wanted to...
So much time has passed
And my evolution into the woman I've become,
Is
So different from the girl who loved you,
Thought she'd die without you...
Turns out,
I've survived just fine.
The lack of you
Was not the end of me.
But a beginning
For, someone who, perhaps needed to emerge.
It's funny...
How certain instances
Define us...
Mold and shape us
Into the people we become.
That girl,
She was naive and she was sweet
And she was...
Inexperienced
Simply because she hadn't lived enough life.
Perhaps
She did die without you.
However,
The woman that stands in her place
Is
Much stronger.
The world does not scare her
