If This Be Love
Hope gives in to longing thought,
of all desires that I've sought.
A wanton heart might now be caught,
if this be love, that you have brought.
Can love..hope..grow where pain abides;
Where doubt and fear are justified?
I willingly throw both arms wide,
if faith can bring you to my side.
Give in! give in! My heart cries out,
For once find out what loves about.
These walls I've built so strong and stout,
like Jericho, fall at the shout.
A newborn babe, my soul lies bare;
vulnerable to trap and snare.
I gladly place all in your care.
If this be love...that we would share.
