My Pallbearers
The thing is
I have to be clear
on who my PallBearers
will be-
all four of them.
Silly I know
to plan my death
but I need to know
who or what
will be my Corner Left.
There I would have
the strong hands
that mark my Heart.
My Heart
will be Pall-Bearer One.
I will need it
I think
in the What Ever's Next
beyond this world.
Number two will be the Soul's Spot
for it carries all my Essences
in tiny smoky vials
attached to key-chains
arrayed across its chest;
my medals won
in life's Contests
where Character is forged
and Mettles Tested.
Right Rear
is my Embodiment;
embodying what this earth
has given me;
It walks tall
and carries the heavy lift
the casket is.
It is the temple too
where
my Soul lives.
Last
is my Minds Ferment
every idea I've ever had
