I Want To Be Me
when people turn and ask
'who are you'
all I say is 'I'm me,
I'm who I chose to be'
I'm not normal
I'm just me
I live and learn
I also make mistakes
I'm a mystery
to figure out
when you do though
let me know
I need to keep
searching for the girl
the little one
that I used to know
she was sweet
she was kind
but no looking back
who am I
I've fallen so much
I've learned not to trust
I've learned not to hide
but where do I stand
by the time I'm old enough
to figure this all out
it might be to late
I might've mist my chance
I don't know
who I am
all I know is
who I want to be
I want to stand out
I want to be me
I want to be a leader
I don't want to hide
I know now
that I need to find
my guiding star
then find the path
