Me With And Without You
Watch energetic children playing in fresh snow,
That was my life with you, my ecstasy did show.
Feel the cold winter wind’s unrelenting sting,
That’s my life without you, a bell void of ring.
Winter passed and Spring gave it’s first bloom,
That was my life with you, a love filled groom.
Hot summer sun without rain the flowers wilted,
That’s my life without you, enigmatically jilted.
Look at the cloudless sky with warming sun,
That was my life with you, full of joyful fun
Listen to the rhythm of the down pouring rain,
That’s my life without you, crowded with pain.
A picturesque flower basket hanging on a hook,
That was my life with you, the romantic’s book.
Hurricane winds come send it crashing around,
That’s my life without you, happiness not found.
Recall Hart Springs when we did merrily swim,
That was my life with you, the cherished gem.
See lightning and thunder in a summer storm,
That’s my life without you, less than the norm.
