Brief Homosexual Encounter
Walking by the Serpentine,
Kicking my feet through the autumn leaves,
Suddenly aware there's someone following,
Squaddie on leave, he pins me to a tree,
'Don't be afraid! ' he says, but he can plainly see
The anger in my eyes. Apologise! Apologise!
So he turns and stumbles away,
Another person you would all despise,
And hangs his head and cries.
