Summer Showers
Last night
And the night before
It poured and poured
Wind uprooting the trees
Snapping electric lines too…
I sat
In the darkness
Trying to capture
The straying night
I sat
In the darkness
My skin burning
At the hard hitting raindrops
I sat
In the darkness
Listening to the rain
Tiptoeing into my heart
I sat
In the darkness
The rain bringing with it
Your name cascading into my ears
That’s the best part
Of summer showers, you see
They are amazingly refreshing!
