Daphnis and Chloe

You found it difficult to woo—
so do we who follow you.

Everyone would like to mate;
Everyone has had to wait.

So much beauty, so much burning!
But ages pass as we are learning.

A Big Hurt

To meet her once just to know it through and through
I know, I know
But it aint finished till the fat lady sings
I know, I know
How can I help you?
Youre just a wanna-be
Im a believer
Youre a sex receiver
And me with a big hurt
You know I had a big hurt
From the very start
Im hurting so bad
cause youre my roommate from hell
Got to take some blows on the stepping stones
Speak in extreme
Itll save you time
You were a saint abroa
But a devil at home
Come on here, woo-woo
And kiss it for me
To meet her once just to know it through and through
I know, I know I know
Even a glass eye in a ducks ass can see that
I know, I know
How can I help you?
A meet with a big hurt
You know I had
A great big hurt
From the very start
Im hurting so bad
And here come the indians oooo
Got to take some blows on the stepping stones
Speak in extreme
Itll save you time
You were a saint abroa
But a devil at home
Come on here, woo-woo
And kiss it for me
Kiss it for me, woo-woo
Kiss it for me
Woo-woo, kiss it for me
Come on here, woo-woo
Kiss it for me
Kiss it where it counts
Kiss it for me
Come on here, woo-woo
Woo-woo, woo-woo, woo-woo, woo-woo
Kiss it for me
I know

Cattle Call

Cattle Call
(sung by Elvis in concerts of the 1950s)
[In der mir vorliegenden Version summt er nur die Melodie.]
(Tex Owens)
The cattle are prowlin' and the coyotes are howlin'
Way out where the dogies bawl
Where spurs are a-jinglin' a cowboy is singin'
This lonesome cattle call
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo
He rides in the sun, till his days work is done
And he rounds up the cattle each fall
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Singin' his cattle call.
For hours he will ride on the range far and wide
When the night wind blows up a squall
His heart is a feather in all kinds of weather
He sings his cattle call
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo hoo
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo
He's brown as a berry from ridin' the prairie
And sings with an ol' western drawl
Woo-hoo woo-hoo hoo hoo
Singin' his cattle call

Freight Train Boogie / Choo Choo Ch'boogie

(GriffinHorton, Darling, Gabler)
Casey Jones was a mighty man, now he's resting in the Promised Land.
The only thing he could understand was an eight-wheel driver under his command.
He made the freight train boogie all the time.
He made the freight train boogie as he rolled down the line.
Woo woo, wah wah, woo woo, wah wah. Woo woo, wah wah, woo woo, wah wah.
He made the freight train boogie as he rolled down the line.
I'm headed for the station with my pack on my back,
I'm tired of transportation in the back of a hack.
I just love the rhythm of the clickity-clack,
I hear the whistle blowing, see the smoke from the stack.
And pal around with democratic fellas named Mac,
Take me right back to the track, Jack.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie, woo woo, woo woo ch'boogie.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie, take me right back to the track, Jack.
You reach your destination and alas and alack,
You need some compensation to get back in the black.
You take a morning paper from the top of the stack
and read the situation from the front to the back.
The only job that's open needs a man with a knack,
take me right back to the track, Jack.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie, woo woo, woo woo ch'boogie.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie, take me right back to the track, Jack.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie, woo woo, woo woo ch'boogie.
Choo choo, choo choo ch'boogie,
He made the freight train boogie as he rolled down the line.

I Wanna Roo You

Twenty-third of december
Covered in snow
You in the kitchen
With the lights way down low
I'm in the parlor playing my old guitar
Speaking to you, darling, to find out how you are
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
Come to me softly
Come to me quiet
Know what i'm after
I'm gonna try it
Snowstorm's on the way and we'll be stranded for a week
Come over to the window, look outside take a peek
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
You know i am lonely
And in need of your company
Oh, let your love light shine on down on me
And we can just sit here
Look at the fire
Watch the flames leaping higher and higher
Tea on the stove food in the pan
Ain't going nowhere and we don't have many plans
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
And you know i am lonely
I been in need of your company
Let your love shine on down on me
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
I wanna roo you, wanna get through to you
I wanna woo you, woo you tonight
Woo you tonight, pretty baby
Woo you tonight, little darling
Woo you tonight, alright
Woo you tonight

The Hot Rocks Polka

If I could stick my hand in my heart
Spill it all over the stage
Would it satisfy you
Would it slide on by you
Would you think the boy is strange
Aint it stra-a-ange
If I could win
If I could sing
A love song so divine
Would it be enough for your cheating heart
If I broke down and cried
If I cri-i-ied
I said, ah no, its only rock n roll
But I like it
Ah no, its only rock n roll
But I like it, like it
Yes I do
I really really really really do do-do do do
Hey
Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in a market down in new orleans
Scarred old slaver knows hes doin all right
Hear they whip the women just around midnight
Brown sugar
How come you taste so good
Brown sugar
Just like a young girl should
I saw her today at the reception
A glass of wine in her hand
I knew she would make her connection
By her feet was a footloose man
You cant always get what you want
You cant always get what you want
You cant always get what you want
But if you try sometimes
You might find
You get what you need
You need honkey tonk women
Gimme gimme gimme the honkey tonk blues
Under my thumb
The girl who once had me down
Under my thumb
The girl who once pushed me around
Its down to me
Yes it is
The way she talks when shes spoken to
Down to me
The change has come
Shes under my thumb
So, goodbye ruby tuesday

Shoestring

Everybody's pawning all their bling things.
Trying to live today on just a shoestring.
Giving in ain't easy for one thinking...
How will they survive,
Without the zing of bling things!

ooo woo...
ooopah ooopah ooopah,
ooo woo...
ooopah pah ooopah,
ooo woo...
ooopah ooopah ooopah,
ooo woo...
ooopah pah ooo

ooo woo...
ooopah ooopah ooopah,

ooopah pah ooopah,
ooo woo...
ooopah ooopah ooopah,
ooo woo...
ooopah pah ooo

Droppin' hip hop poppin'
To stop coppin'...
From lockin' boppin'
So rock mop and toppin'.

They woke up soak and wet,
And feelin' threatin'.
'Cause' all the bling
They stung up...
Stopped affectin'!

ooo woo...
ooopah ooopah ooopah,

My Little World

1 2 3 4.
1 2 3 4.
Little boy up in (? )...
Thats left behind to sin.
Moving like a camera I can watch you on my screen.
Fall into a shadow world inside of me.
Hidden like a treasure.
Secrets in my scene.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
You can follow me.
Ah, you can follow me.
Scream inside.
Whisper.
Picture in a dream.
You can talk to me and we can talk forever.
I could take you to the doorway and I can give you the way, the key.
No one here can see you, no one here but me.
Fall into our shadow, theres another world in me.
And youre invited.
And youre invited.
In the little world I make with all the little things I take...
A million ways to pass the time, in this little world of mine.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow you can follow you can follow follow follow follow follow.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
Secrets in this world.
Picture in a dream.
No one here can see you, no one here but me.
And you can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
You can follow me.
Oh, you can follow me.
You can follow me.

You can follow me. follow me.

You can follow me.

You're My Mate

Ill tell you what I think, I think shes a cow
Shes let you down too many times now
Lets go for a drink, forget it for now
Put It behind you, I think its your round
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate
Ill tell you what I think, I think hes a pain
He aint got a car, but he drives you insane
Lets go for a drink and sink a few
Enough about him lets talk about you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
Cause youre my mate
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
All I wanna do is get drunk here with you
Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you
And in the face of things that could hurt you

Cause youre my mate and I will stand by you
Youre my mate and I will stand by you

Salmacis and Hermaphroditus.

MY wanton lines doe treate of amorous loue,
Such as would bow the hearts of gods aboue:
Then Venus, thou great Citherean Queene,
That hourely tript on the Idalian greene,
Thou laughing Erycina, daygne to see
The verses wholly consecrate to thee;
Temper them so within thy Paphian shrine,
That euery Louers eye may melt a line;
Commaund the god of Loue that little King,
To giue each verse a sleight touch with his wing,
That as I write, one line may draw the tother,
And euery word skip nimbly o're another.
There was a louely boy the Nymphs had kept,
That on the Idane mountains oft had slept,
Begot and borne by powers that dwelt aboue,
By learned Mercury of the Queene of loue:
A face he had that shew'd his parents fame,
And from them both conioynd, he drew his name:
So wondrous fayre he was that (as they say)
Diana being hunting on a day,
Shee saw the boy vpon a greene banke lay him,
And there the virgin-huntresse meant to slay him,
Because no Nymphes did now pursue the chase:
For all were strooke blind with the wanton's face.
But when that beauteous face Diana saw,
Her armes were nummed, & shee could not draw;
Yet she did striue to shoot, but all in vaine,
Shee bent her bow, and loos'd it streight againe.
Then she began to chide her wanton eye,
And fayne would shoot, but durst not see him die,
She turnd and shot, and did of purpose misse him,
Shee turnd againe, and did of purpose kisse him.
Then the boy ran: for (some say) had he stayd,
Diana had no longer bene a mayd.
Phoebus so doted on this rosiat face,
That he hath oft stole closely from his place,
When he did lie by fayre Leucothoes side,
To dally with him in the vales of Ide:
And euer since this louely boy did die,
Phoebus each day about the world doth flie,
And on the earth he seekes him all the day,
And euery night he seekes him in the sea:
His cheeke was sanguine, and his lip as red
As are the blushing leaues of the Rose spred:
And I haue heard, that till this boy was borne,
Rose grew white vpon the virgin thorne,
Till one day walking to a pleasant spring,
To heare how cunningly the birds could sing,
Laying him downe vpon a flowry bed,
The Roses blush'd and turn'd themselues to red.

Sex Type Drug

Just take it nice and slow
Like jelly in a mould (singin')
Dressed in a perfect skin
You're like a manequin
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Just need to make you see
Perfection is a sin, yeah
Just feed you like a dog
Just wanna hear you come
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Sex type thing
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
You feed me like a drug
I lick you up and swallow
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're the real thing
Woo hoo, oo hoo, you're a sex type drug

I Will Follow

Yonder mountain so high
I cant make it all on my own, no
Rolling river why so wide?
To sweep me up and to bear me on
Up against the sky so bright
That I cant even close my eyes
I know I will follow (follow love)
Yes, yes, I will follow (follow love)
I will follow (follow love)
Follow love
Growing slowly like a tree
Someday soon, darling I love you
I love you
Soft and gentle, full summer moon
Set my soul free
Thank you, baby
Drifting like a cloud in the sky
I can see myself from high above
I know I must follow (follow love)
Somehow I will follow (follow love)
I must follow (follow love)
Follow love
Oh, half the future and half the past
Theyre waiting inside your eyes
Yes, and after all of this
To last and last
Till at last its your time to rise, rise
True believer that I am
I am blind, lead me on (lead me on)
Blessed receiver of your love
I own my own time
And Ive been holding on (holding on)
Leave the word unspoken
And the spell will not be broken
And Im bound to follow, now (follow love)
I know I must go (follow love)
I must follow (follow love)
Yes, I must follow (follow love)
Someone to hold my hand (follow love)
Somebody to lead me on(follow love)
Somebody to walk beside me (follow love)
Someone to follow me now (follow love)
I must follow love (follow love)
I will fall in love
I will follow love (follow love)
Anywhere it leads me
I will follow love (follow love)
Follow love

Venus and Adonis

Even as the sun with purple-colour'd face
Had ta'en his last leave of the weeping morn,
Rose-cheek'd Adonis tried him to the chase;
Hunting he lov'd, but love he laugh'd to scorn;
Sick-thoughted Venus makes amain unto him,
And like a bold-fac'd suitor 'gins to woo him.
'Thrice fairer than myself,' thus she began,
'The field's chief flower, sweet above compare,
Stain to all nymphs, more lovely than a man,
More white and red than doves or roses are;
Nature that made thee, with herself at strife,
Saith that the world hath ending with thy life.
'Vouchsafe, thou wonder, to alight thy steed,
And rein his proud head to the saddle-bow;
If thou wilt deign this favour, for thy meed
A thousand honey secrets shalt thou know:
Here come and sit, where never serpent hisses;
And being set, I'll smother thee with kisses:
'And yet not cloy thy lips with loath'd satiety,
But rather famish them amid their plenty,
Making them red and pale with fresh variety;
Ten kisses short as one, one long as twenty:
A summer's day will seem an hour but short,
Being wasted in such time-beguiling sport.'
With this she seizeth on his sweating palm,
The precedent of pith and livelihood,
And, trembling in her passion, calls it balm,
Earth's sovereign salve to do a goddess good:
Being so enrag'd, desire doth lend her force
Courageously to pluck him from his horse.
Over one arm the lusty courser's rein
Under her other was the tender boy,
Who blush'd and pouted in a dull disdain,
With leaden appetite, unapt to toy;
She red and hot as coals of glowing fire
He red for shame, but frosty in desire.
The studded bridle on a ragged bough
Nimbly she fastens;--O! how quick is love:--
The steed is stalled up, and even now
To tie the rider she begins to prove:
Backward she push'd him, as she would be thrust,
And govern'd him in strength, though not in lust.
So soon was she along, as he was down,
Each leaning on their elbows and their hips:
Now doth she stroke his cheek, now doth he frown,
And 'gins to chide, but soon she stops his lips;
And kissing speaks, with lustful language broken,
'If thou wilt chide, thy lips shall never open.'
He burns with bashful shame; she with her tears
Doth quench the maiden burning of his cheeks;

Venus and Adonis

'Vilia miretur vulgus; mihi flavus Apollo
Pocula Castalia plena ministret aqua.'

To the right honorable Henry Wriothesly, Earl of Southampton, and Baron of Tichfield.
Right honorable.

I know not how I shall offend in dedicating my unpolished lines to your lordship, nor how the world will censure me for choosing so strong a prop to support so weak a burden only, if your honour seem but pleased, I account myself highly praised, and vow to take advantage of all idle hours, till I have honoured you with some graver labour. But if the first heir of my invention prove deformed, I shall be sorry it had so noble a god-father, and never after ear so barren a land, for fear it yield me still so bad a harvest. I leave it to your honourable survey, and your honour to your heart's content; which I wish may always answer your own wish and the world's hopeful expectation.

Your honour's in all duty.

Even as the sun with purple-colour'd face
Had ta'en his last leave of the weeping morn,
Rose-cheek'd Adonis hied him to the chase;

An Essay on Criticism

Part I

INTRODUCTION. That it is as great a fault to judge ill as to write ill, and a more dangerous one to the public. That a true Taste is as rare to be found as a true Genius. That most men are born with some Taste, but spoiled by false education. The multitude of Critics, and causes of them. That we are to study our own Taste, and know the limits of it. Nature the best guide of judgment. Improved by Art and rules, which are but methodized Nature. Rules derived from the practice of the ancient poets. That therefore the ancients are necessary to be studied by a Critic, particularly Homer and Virgil. Of licenses, and the use of them by the ancients. Reverence due to the ancients, and praise of them.

'Tis hard to say if greater want of skill
Appear in writing or in judging ill;
But of the two less dangerous is th'offence
To tire our patience than mislead our sense:
Some few in that, but numbers err in this;
Ten censure wrong for one who writes amiss;
A fool might once himself alone expose;
Now one in verse makes many more in prose.

'Tis with our judgments as our watches, none
Go just alike, yet each believes his own.
In Poets as true Genius is but rare,
True Taste as seldom is the Critic's share;
Both must alike from Heav'n derive their light,
These born to judge, as well as those to write.
Let such teach others who themselves excel,
And censure freely who have written well;
Authors are partial to their wit, 'tis true,
But are not Critics to their judgment too?

Yet if we look more closely, we shall find
Most have the seeds of judgment in their mind:
Nature affords at least a glimm'ring light;
The lines, tho' touch'd but faintly, are drawn right:
But as the slightest sketch, if justly traced,
Is by ill col'ring but the more disgraced,
So by false learning is good sense defaced:
Some are bewilder'd in the maze of schools,
And some made coxcombs Nature meant but fools:
In search of wit these lose their common sense,
And then turn Critics in their own defence:
Each burns alike, who can or cannot write,
Or with a rival's or an eunuch's spite.
All fools have still an itching to deride,
And fain would be upon the laughing side.
If Mævius scribble in Apollo's spite,
There are who judge still worse than he can write.

Some have at first for Wits, then Poets pass'd;
Turn'd Critics next, and prov'd plain Fools at last.
Some neither can for Wits nor Critics pass,
As heavy mules are neither horse nor ass.
Those half-learn'd witlings, numerous in our isle,
As half-form'd insects on the banks of Nile;
Unfinish'd things, one knows not what to call,

Nod Ya Head

[Will Smith]
We come to make it hot for you (woo)
[Christina Vidal (chorus)]
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me (nod ya head)
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me
[Will Smith]
I am the man in black
I'm back
Breakin' the back of the random attackers
So can the flack.
Yo, I'm dangerous
I've been trained to bust
when the strange of us try to endanger us.
Praise me me ya'll
Don't nothin' phase me ya'll
When they see me they gaze be all crazy , ya'll
They say I'm a myth
trust me when if somebody rip
Out of the depths of your imagination so here's Will Smith.
Black suit, the black shades
the black shoes, black tie with the black attitude
New style black ray-bans, I'm stunnin' man.
New hot in this pitch black 600 man.
Don't you understand?
What you thought I wouldn't come again
Leave you hangin' without bringin' you the fun again.
Tanglin' with the alien scum again.
Mind your manners or the black suits runnin' in.
[Chorus]
(nod ya head!) When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me (nod ya head)
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat

Nod Ya Head (The Remix) (feat. Christina Vidal And Introducing Tra-Knox)

[Will Smith]
We come to make it hot for you (woo)
[Christina Vidal (chorus)]
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me (nod ya head)
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me
[Will Smith]
I am the man in black
I'm back
Breakin' the back of the random attackers
So can the flack.
Yo, I'm dangerous
I've been trained to bust
when the strange of us try to endanger us.
Praise me me ya'll
Don't nothin' phase me ya'll
When they see me they gaze be all crazy , ya'll
They say I'm a myth
trust me when if somebody rip
Out of the depths of your imagination so here's Will Smith.
Black suit, the black shades
the black shoes, black tie with the black attitude
New style black ray-bans, I'm stunnin' man.
New hot in this pitch black 600 man.
Don't you understand?
What you thought I wouldn't come again
Leave you hangin' without bringin' you the fun again.
Tanglin' with the alien scum again.
Mind your manners or the black suits runnin' in.
[Chorus]
(nod ya head!) When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat
Come on and nod ya head with me (nod ya head)
When we get down with the black suits, baby
Just let it loose up in here; go crazy (let me see you nod ya head)
The way your bouncin' and shakin'
I know you're feelin' me
So get up out ya seat

Yesterday, To-day, and For Ever: Book IV. - The Creation of Angels and of Men

O tears, ye rivulets that flow profuse
Forth from the fountains of perennial love,
Love, sympathy, and sorrow, those pure springs
Welling in secret up from lower depths
Than couch beneath the everlasting hills:
Ye showers that from the cloud of mercy fall
In drops of tender grief, - you I invoke,
For in your gentleness there lies a spell
Mightier than arms or bolted chains of iron.
When floating by the reedy banks of Nile
A babe of more than human beauty wept,
Were not the innocent dews upon its cheeks
A link in God's great counsels? Who knows not
The loves of David and young Jonathan,
When in unwitting rivalry of hearts
The son of Jesse won a nobler wreath
Than garlands pluck'd in war and dipp'd in blood?
And haply she, who wash'd her Saviour's feet
With the soft silent rain of penitence,
And wiped them with her tangled tresses, gave
A costlier sacrifice than Solomon,
What time he slew myriads of sheep and kine,
And pour'd upon the brazen altar forth
Rivers of fragrant oil. In Peter's woe,
Bitterly weeping in the darken'd street,
Love veils his fall. The traitor shed no tear.
But Magdalene's gushing grief is fresh
In memory of us all, as when it drench'd
The cold stone of the sepulchre. Paul wept,
And by the droppings of his heart subdued
Strong men by all his massive arguments
Unvanquish'd. And the loved Evangelist
Wept, though in heaven, that none in heaven were found
Worthy to loose the Apocalyptic seals.
No holy tear is lost. None idly sinks
As water in the barren sand: for God,
Let David witness, puts his children's tears
Into His cruse and writes them in His book; -
David, that sweetest lyrist, not the less
Sweet that his plaintive pleading tones ofttimes
Are tremulous with grief. For he and all
God's nightingales have ever learn'd to sing,
Pressing their bosom on some secret thorn.
In the world's morning it was thus: and, since
The evening shadows fell athwart mankind,
Thus hath it always been. Blind and bereft,
The minstrel of an Eden lost explored
Things all invisible to mortal eyes.
And he, who touch'd with a true poet's hand
The harp of prophecy, himself had learn'd

Beauty And The Beast

A Merchant, who by generous pains
Prospered in honourable gains,
Could boast, his wealth and fame to share,
Three manly Sons, three Daughters fair;
With these he felt supremely blest.-
His latest born surpass'd the rest:
She was so gentle, good and kind,
So fair in feature, form, and mind,
So constant too in filial duty,
The neighbours called her Little Beauty!
And when fair childhood's days were run,
That title still she wore and won;
Lovelier as older still she grew,
Improv'd in grace and goodness too.-
Her elder Sisters, gay and vain,
View'd her with envy and disdain,
Toss'd up their heads with haughty air;
Dress, Fashion, Pleasure, all their care.

'Twas thus, improving and improv'd;
Loving, and worthy to be lov'd,
Sprightly, yet grave, each circling day
Saw Beauty innocently gay.
Thus smooth the May-like moments past;
Blest times! but soon by clouds o'ercast!

Sudden as winds that madd'ning sweep
The foaming surface of the deep,
Vast treasures, trusted to the wave,
Were buried in the billowy grave!
Our Merchant, late of boundless store,
Saw Famine hasting to his door.

With willing hand and ready grace,
Mild Beauty takes the Servant's place;
Rose with the sun to household cares,
And morn's repast with zeal prepares,
The wholesome meal, the cheerful fire:
What cannot filial love inspire?
And when the task of day was done,
Suspended till the rising sun,
Music and song the hours employ'd,
As more deserv'd, the more enjoy'd;
Till Industry, with Pastime join'd,
Refresh'd the body and the mind;
And when the groupe retir'd to rest,
Father and Brothers Beauty blest.

Keep On Burning

(ian hunter)
Oh
Well there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
No, there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
If were sorry
Then its our failure
So says the jailor,
Fade? away.
Now there aint no debts,
Just destinations.
Like birds made out of steel,
They fly by.
Lost lovers in a moonlit night,
Broken lovers in a starless night.
I lay my clothes down at your feet
cause all I want is for you
To keep on burning.
Keep on burning, babe,
Keep on burning.
Yeah, keep on burning (burning).
And when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on burning (keep on burning).
Can you feel my warmth
Inside of you, babe.
Oh can you feel my blood
Running through your vains.
Dont lay the blame on me, girl,
Just like lovers often will
I lay my heart down at your feet
Oh all I want is for you
To keep on burning,
Keep on burning (burning)
Keep on burning, babe (yeah),
Keep on burning (burning).
cause when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on (burning, keep on burning) burning.
Yeah, (you gotta) keep on burning (burning),
Ooh, keep on burning.
Keep on, keep on, keep burning, babe,
Ah (you gotta keep on burning, burning) keep on burning (burning),
Baby (yeah) you gotta keep on burning, burning.
Keep on burning,
Keep ...
