I Fell In Love Today
I fell in love today
It hit me with a sudden shock,
For my heart was sealed tight
But suddenly there was a knock.
I cracked the door open
I was too weary to believe,
The emotions all rushed in
As a love I could perceive.
The feeling was overwhelming
I could not believe my eyes,
I was filled with happiness
That took over painful cries.
Then suddenly it left
The door slammed in my face,
My eyes shot wide open
As my heart begin to race.
So love at first sight
Isn't always what it seems,
For I fell in love today
But was met with shattered dreams.
