Voyage to the Depth

Voyage to the Depth
By: Adam M. Snow

Woe unto us, one of many,
Yet was not the foe-of any-
Unto us the storm crashing tides,
But to sail on, voyage to the depth.
I envy Seas, whereon we rides-
By thee captain side, I stand tall.

Waves crashing upon the haul,
The creaks of soaked oaken rot.
A sound throughout the ship had caught.
Tossing and turning, the ship sailed not.
The thoughts of death upon us all,
Among this time, we all stand tall.

We await the time calming sea,
To sail this voyage once again.
We know not the curse may be,
But we know to sail on to the depth.
None-the-less to live on dreaming,
As we sail the moonlit tides gleaming.

A glistening light in the far distance,
Our only hope to our existence.
That might prove useful and yet never proves.
Closer we are, the further it moves.

Lest not give up hope,
For many should cope.
A journey seen fit till the end.
I should not dare to leave my friend,
But if we do not see the shore again,
I make mend of my very sin.

But the stormy seas rages still,
This voyage ceases to thrill.
Lightning clashes throughout the sky.
A time like this, all things must die.

Journey on to that dark horizon,
Until our bodies rot and wizen
All but I am sickened for home,
Out at sea, do we roam.

Many are ill since lost at sea,
All now knows what our curse may be.
Traveled the world, many times till now,
Onto the depth, our soul soon sail.
We leave behind our eternal vow,
Our promise to return to our love somehow.

We now sail down the river Styx,
Free from the havoc ocean tides.
Lost at sea, not a month but six,
As we leave behind our many brides.

Our vision's clearer than ever before,
Our voyage ends, not a glimpse of shore.
Our soul sails on, unto the abyss,
Our life's voyage went amiss.
We leave behind a story untold,
Many a child to whom never hold.

From the Depth of Eternal

From the Depth of Eternal
By: Adam M. Snow

From the depth of eternal
where I dare lay;
I long for that which darkness covers.
I search myself, night and day;
and I but a ghost who hovers.

Honesty and the Depth Of It

Some allow their projections,
To become influence by their perceptions.
And when they project a perception incorrect...
They find themselves in situations,
Not knowing what to believe or accept.
Since honesty and the depth of it,
They have yet to respect or digest its presence.

I know the depth of love

I know the depth of love
that goes beyond,
that goes far above
mere feelings what are found

in every caress and kiss
that has a far deeper meaning
than is found in the sweetest bliss,
that is much more touching

than acts and words
and are centred in trust and respect,
being more profound than sounds from vocal chords,
goes much farther than one can expect:

when two people are lovers, companions and friends
giving more than allowed by means and ends.

Early Works - What Is The Depth Of A Man

What is the depth of a man,
what makes him courageous
in front of mortal fears
or walk straight and tall
when his eyes are blinded with tears?

What is the depth of a man
what gives him the spark
deep in his heart
to do good
when only evil surrounds him.

What is the depth of a man
that can’t be conquered
is it the love of a woman
is it loyalty
or is it the belief that each man should be free.
What is the depth of a man?

Date unknown, probably late 1960’s

The Strings That Tie You Down

Youre so close to tellin me youre leaving
Packin up your things and leavin town
If you can walk away the rest is easy
Once you cut the strings that tie you down
Just look me in the eye and say its over
Just tell me you dont want me around
Once you say goodbye, its gone forever
Once you cut the strings that tie you down
Theres no way I can picture me without you
I still think of you in your wedding gown
If I have to give you up, may God be with you
Once you cut the strings that tie you down

While the storm outside is quieting down [2]

While the storm outside is quieting down
the last lightning bolts falls slamming
sounding like canon shots,
you are busy peeling an orange
and from fright you hand stops still
while we listen to the voice of the God.

While the storm outside is quieting down
the last lightning bolts falls slamming,
I polish the my pair of glasses,
you are again peeling in thin orange strips
that folds around your hand when you remember something
as if something has walked over your grave you are shuddering
while the storm outside is quieting down.

In The Depth Of Your Heart It Is (English Sonnet)

In this world where there is constant decay,
we mortals search for an immortal thing
while illness and age sweeps life away
as if in science it's somewhere hiding

and yet as something we cannot measure,
the immaterial thing called love
we at times find as our greatest treasure
which when it's true nothing can remove

or even its great power totally subdue
and today with your hand in mine
when we are together and I glance at you
we have found something divine

and have both never felt just like this,
in the depth of your heart it is.

The Depth Of Grief

The depth of grief is hard to measure
For the pain inside it that is treasures
Is so much and so bitter and hard
That everone wants it to totally discard

But one thing taht we must keep in mind
Is to always seek ways with others to be kind
No matter what we are going through
We must be honest and sincere too

And always remember these pain and grief
Are only let out and gets a relief
If they are given a chance to drop
From inside painful injured heart's top

And then all life's pain and sigh
Will leave your soul and will say goodbye
And then in your heart all pain and grief
Will not get a place, not even brief.

The Whole World's Falling Down

I leave my son the legacy of dangers
The tragedy of synthesizing rhymes
The genocide that comes from total strangers
Apocalyptic dreams to kill mankind
I see the mystery unwind
My spirit's telling me
The sky is dying
And the whole world's falling down
Don't buy your fate
From media messiahs
God gave you breath
Don't blow it all away
I see the misery unwind
You must be stupid or be blind
My spirit's telling me that
The sky is crying
Burning holes into the ground
The sky is dying
And the whole world's falling down
What did you see or don't you know?
You only reap the seeds you sow
Oh no
The sky is crying
Burning holes into the ground
Messiah's coming
But will he hang around
Cause the sky is dying
And the whole world's falling down

From the Depth of Ethereal

Such heavenly beauty beyond my human reach,
but a lowly soul this world does 'seech.
Lost in a time of tragedy and flutter;
there is a pain-so utter.
The Epiphany came in an instant and blinded me,
from the fear and rage that I now see.
I lay there in torment as time now fall,
night is the victim to this nature's call.
A haunting of melody that will not dispel;
Souls in torment as their lore now tell.
A perfect light arises from the shadows realm below,
the hidden world so far away where thoughts unspoken go.
And from the depth of Ethereal, I could still hear her heart beating;
one after another, the dark clouds are fleeting.
The dreams are real and time stands still if only you believe,
all things that test reality; the visions fools and children see.
From the Depth of Ethereal came howls of former corporeal,
as a soft gentle breeze now makes my heart feel at ease.
The wails of the dead now brings forth shudders of dread;
but this one lowly soul, peace is all she said.

The Departed (Sun Is Going Down)

There I stood with the sun in my eyes
Dust on my face
Mouth parched and dry
Memories are racing
Flashing scenes through my mind
I know what\'s ahead
Today would be a good day to die
Once I thought I had a golden heart
Once I thought my dreams would never shatter
Now I stand here
Jaded and cold
Epitaph being carved on my tombstone
I would die for you - would you die with me?
No, you can\'t deny
Would you catch the bullet that was meant for me?
Blaze across the sky
Refrn:
Sun is going down
And there\'s no tomorrow
Sun is going down
Going down on me
Sun is going down
No more time to borrow
Dance with the devil
Sun is going down
For the lonely hearted
Sun is going down
In a blink of an eye
Sun is going down
On the departed
Laugh at the devil
I would die for you - would you die with me?
Caught in a fight I was drawn again
I never thought I\'d be betrayed
By my best friend
He lost his life as he went for mine
If this is the end I want to die with you
Would you catch the bullet that was meant for me?
Blaze across the sky
Refrn

The Men Who Live It Down

I have sinned, like others, blindly, without thought and without fear,
And my best friends say it kindly, ‘You should go away from here.’
Shall I fly the paltry spirit of a narrow little town,
While the battle-drums are beating for the men who live it down?
Down the street where all men know me I can walk with level eyes,
They believe the lies about me, they can sneer, but I despise.
From my black and bitter childhood, from my dull and joyless youth,
It is I who—it is I who—I and Christ who know the truth!

I have sinned, but as a man might; like a man I’ll rise again
From long nights of mental torture, from long days of care and pain.
Pass me by with eyes averted, with a shrug or with a frown,
But their heads shall bow in ashes long ere my head shall go down!

Ah! the curs, who dare not trespass, quick to sneer and quick to blame;
But the wider world is kinder—it takes long to damn a name.
There’s a heart that’s worth a million and a head that’s worth a crown,
And the flash of bright eyes sometimes for the men who live it down.

There’s a hand-grip close and silent, firm in trust and sympathy,
Sends the old thrill through my being, sends the old hopes up in me.
There is one who’ll stand beside me when the screen is round my bed,
And the godly pass their stricture on the sinner who is dead.

When the crape is round my picture and my mad, wild spirit’s free—
And you realise how little you have ever known of me
When the worst is said and printed by the coward and the clown,
Then, I trust, a friend might answer—‘There lies one who lived it down.’

Glimpses

don't you feel sometimes
a glimpse of the Atlantis
when you dive at the sea?

don't you feel sometimes
a hint of an image to our eternity?

don't you feel the depth of our being
down down to the blackness of
the ocean?

Like a Moonbeam

A brief encounter with the depth charge,
paralyzed waist down,
looking within
looking without
counting the vibrations in sea shells,
I could hobble along with a younger poem
my love trapped in words.

We were reaching nowhere
near destination.
Our shadows entwined
with our steps.
Bluebells not withstanding catkins of mulberry
stood waist high
for the catwalk.

We kept wishpering
unworldly nothings,
like autumn leaves rustling in air.
Petals of purple bruises squirting the smell of desire.
I will touch you
like moon beam
from dark sky.

Burning People From The Desert

I thought of the endless day
When the sun won’t stop shining down
A burning tree stands still watching its own fate
Crumble as the fire laughs at his face

And I thought, “I am looking for it, ”
That’s the way I am now
The state of being burnt while you’re breathing
Away from the past, approaching to the future

And this senseless world never seems too much
To understand why people get hurt or why they cry
And those reckless just hand down to the revolutionary
Waiting for their leader to be taken down and die in vain

And then we’ll ask why
Why did you do that to me?
Why did you shoot my faultless father?
Why did you let me down?

Suffocating by the emptiness of intention
Assumption become nothing more than prejudice
And they said god made humans based on him
I wonder who made the devil for his own image

For The New Year

FLUSHED with a crimson sunrise beauty,
The fair new year its promise gave;
Such dreams we had of love, of duty,
Of heights to scale, of foes to brave!
Oh, how hope's fire our future lighted--
How much to do, how much to know,
Yet on its brink we shrank affrighted

And now the year is done--its pleasure
So brief, so bright--its hours of pain;
Some moments' memories we treasure,
Some recollections loathe in vain.
Oh, for a brain where could not waken
Remembrances of purpose crossed,
Of trusts abandoned, aims forsaken,
And chances lost!

The changing seasons thrust upon us
Another year, fair-faced and new;
What evil have the old years done us
That this in its turn will not do?
This, too, will die, and leave us grieving
For all the ills its arms enfold--
For faiths betrayed, for friends deceiving,
And love grown cold.

We have been fooled. The hopes that fooled us--
We know them now--have been a lie;
The star that led, the light that ruled us--
We scorn them, and we pass them by.
Shut out hope's light; past is the season
When rose-red glow seemed good to see.
Look--by the cold white light of reason,
These things shall be:

A long, dim vista, blank and dreary--
The same hard failure, small success;
The same tired heart, the brain still weary
Of its intense self-consciousness;
The old despair, the old repining,
And, through the future's deepest night,
Down life's untrodden ways still shining,
The old hope's light!

What Is Beauty

is it the outside
that shows how beautiful we are
that if we look good there
then in life and love we will go far
just because they look good
that really does not mean
that they are the most beautiful person
deep down inside within
you can still be the most beautiful person
ever to be known
even if on the outside
it is not shown
these are the people who
sparkle and shine so bright
inside these people are
such a beautiful sight
so what is beauty
is it the outside or within
well i dont know about you
but the inside should always win

See You When I Get There

Im looking up
At the moving clouds
Ive been hit so hard
This time
I just might stay down
If you were me
I would come back
To get you
If this is love
Then I dont remember
You wont find anyone
To treat you better
Weve already been through
Hell and high waters
I aint sorry baby
Dont think that
We aint done anything
That Id take back
Go on pretend
That you aint changed
And dont worry bout me
Ill see you when I get there
Im looking up
At the moving clouds
Ive been down so long
But I still think you
Might come around
So Im making plans
For when you feel better
You just might want
Someone more familiar
You wont find anyone
Else to take you back
Now sometimes youre an angel
But youre usually
A pain in the ass
[chorus]
I need your love
Much more than I want it
You left me here
With another bad habit
Now you found paradise
And crawled to the shoreline
I saw a white flash
And then I saw the lids of my eyes
[chorus]
