There's not much in the way of written-down arrangements - just things that Gerry and I have worked out, from playing spontaneously together and hanging on to whatever seems to fall in right.

If You Wanna

If you wanna
If you wanna
If you wanna love me again
Ill take you for a ride in my cadillac.
Hell be in the front, well be in the back
When youre ready
Let me know
Ill be waiting
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
And if you wanna
If you wanna,
If you wanna do it again.
Ill take you to the coast for a holiday
You can be my guest
You can let me pay-yeah
When youre ready
Well, let me know.
Ill be waiting
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
Whenever youre ready
When you wanna love me
This is what you need
To be thinking of me
When you plant the seed of love
When youre ready
Let me know
Ill be waiting
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
To make arrangements for the trip
Well if you want to love me
This is what you need
To be thinking of me

Hanging Garden

Creatures kissing in the rain
Shapeless in the dark again
In the hanging garden
Please don't speak
In the hanging garden
No one sleeps
In the hanging garden
In the hanging garden
Catching haloes on the moon
Gives my hands the shapes of angels
In the heat of the night
The animals scream
In the heat of the night
Walking into a dream . . .
Fall fall fall fall
Into the walls
Jump jump out of time
Fall fall fall fall
Out of the sky
Cover my face as the animals cry
In the hanging garden
In the hanging garden
Creatures kissing in the rain
Shapeless in the dark again
In a hanging garden
Change the past
In a hanging garden
Wearing furs
And masks
Fall fall fall fall
Into the walls
Jump jump out of time
Fall fall fall fall
Out of the sky
Cover my face as the animals die
In the hanging garden
As the animals die
Cover my face as the animals die
In the hanging garden

Fall Together

Looking through the looking glass, looking back at me
Ive got x-ray rear view vision but I dont like what I see
Now, I should not bitch and moan but theres not much I can do
When youre hangin by a thread and Im hangin on to you
Baby, we can fall apart or we can fall together
Its a long way down
We can make a new start, never say never
We can fall apart or we can fall together
Fall together
Fall together
Fall together
Now I know you feel compelled when youre way down in the dumps
Every road can take some turns, every road has got its bumps
Now you got to know yourself, you got to play it smart
cause you suffer for your sanity if you suffer for your art
Baby, we can fall apart or we can fall together
Its a long way down
We can make a new start, never say never
We can fall apart or we can fall together
Fall together
Fall together
Fall together
Now, honey, I got this feelin somethin funny, I dont what it is
My knees are shakin, my heart is racin and the grounds about to give
Baby, we can fall apart or we can fall together
Its a long way down
We can make a new start, never say never
We can fall apart or we can fall together
Baby, we can fall apart or we can fall together
Its a long way down
We can make a new start, never say never
We can fall apart or we can fall together
(fall together, fall together) fall together
(fall together, fall together) fall together
(fall together, fall together) fall together
(fall together, fall together) fall together
(fall together, fall together) fall together
(fall together) fall together fall together

Rain drops fall from heaven

Tears swelling up in my eyes every night
Rain drops fall from heaven
Simply a walking disguise in the light
Rain drops fall from heaven

Wondering when i will be alright
Rain drops fall from heaven
Growing so weak no energy to fight
Rain drops fall from heaven

Losing all hope in my mind
Rain drops fall from heaven
Wishing that i could simply unwind
Rain drops fall from heaven

As time goes love makes me blind
Rain drops fall from heaven
Wishing i didn't have to leave her behind
Rain drops fall from heaven

Wanting to make everything right
Rain drops fall from heaven
Wishing i could see her in sight
Rain drops fall from heaven

Wishing I had the strength to fight
Rain drops fall from heaven
Wishing i could hold her tight
Rain drops fall from heaven

Never knowing if she remembers me
Rain drops fall from heaven
Never know if we were meant to be
Rain drops fall from heaven

Wishing i had more time to see
Rain drops fall from heaven
My family that always loved me
Rain drops fall from heaven

Thinking back to the times we had
Rain drops fall from heaven
Smiles and laughter but yet so sad
Rain drops fall from heaven

Just sitting here all alone
Rain drops fall from heaven
Wishing i was way back home
Rain drops fall from heaven

Night People

(alan toussaint)
Night people, hanging out
Looking at each other waiting for something to happen
Night people, hanging out
Looking at each other
Waiting for soemthing to happen
While the day world is sleeping
Night people are creeping, hanging out
Looking at each other
When the day world stops moving
Night people start grooving, hanging out
Looking at each other
When the day bees stop buzzing
Night people start coming, hanging out
Waiting for something to happen
Night people , hanging out
Looking at each other
Waiting for something to happen
You dont get one thing
Without the other
We got to keep the world alive
If everybody went to sleep
At the same time,
Howd we keep the world alive
In a word we got the night people,
Night people, hanging out
Looking at each other
Waiting for something to happen
Got to see who is with you
Who is with me, who is with who, were hanging out
Looking at each other
Got to see whatcha wearing, whatcha got
Whatcha sharing , hanging out
Waiting for something to happen
As the day world goes by
Night people doing fine, hanging out
Looking at each other
When the day world starts humping
Night people start pumping, hanging out
Waiting for something to happen
Night people hanging out
Looking at each other
Waiting for soemthing to happen
Night people, hanging out
Looking at each other
Waiting for something to happen
Night people grooving , hanging out
Night people grooving
Night people grooving
Night people grooving

Dontcha Wanna

If you had the chance I know you, surely would
And anytime I want it baby, I could
Said youd never saw it coming, did you dear
But you cant run from everything you fear
Hey, dont you wanna fall in love?
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
Ahha yeah
Oh baby you and i
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love? )
Hey
Why dont you push your precious pride aside?
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
Hey yeah oh yeah
Dont you wanna
cause you cant let your whole life pass you by
Oooh
Sure that you aint had nothing like, this before
You can be the same if I give, anymore
I dont wanna waste any of your, precious time
But you wont have no choice but to be mine
Baby dont you wanna play it, on the line?
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
Yeah yeah yeah ooh
Dont you wanna, ooh
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love? )
In love
Dont you wanna fall in love?
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
Hey yeah yeah yeah yeah
cause you cant let your whole life pass you by
Oooh whoo ooooh
(you cant put nothing before your pride)
I said nothing, nothing
(but baby what I give)
Whoo, you can lay your pride aside
Whoo ooooooh
(baby dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
(cause we can take it all night and Ill make you see)
Fall in love with me
(but baby let me know, dont you wanna fall? )
He haha haha
Dont you wanna?
(dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
(cause we can take it all noight and Ill make you see)
Heeey yeah hey
(but baby let me know, dont you wanna fall? )
I wanna fall in love!
(baby dont you wanna fall in love with me? )
(dont you wanna, dont you wanna, dont you wanna fall in love with me? )

Vicious Streak

What am I gonna do
I feel like Im on fire
If you only knew
That youre the object of desire
I keep hanging on, keep hanging on
And I swear by God that youre the only one
I keep hanging on, keep hanging on
And I swear by God that it wont be long
My aim is true
My vision is clear
My thoughts are crude
Whenever youre near
I keep hanging on, keep hanging on
And I swear by God that youre the only one
I keep hanging on, keep hanging on
And I swear by God that it wont be long
I keep hanging on
Youve got a vicious streak
For someone so young
Youre like solar flair
In the rising sun
I keep hanging on
I keep hanging on
I keep hanging on
I keep hanging on

Playing With The Boys

Id say it was the right time
To walk away
When dreaming takes you nowhere
Its time to play
Bodies working overtime
Your money dont matter
The clock keeps ticking
When someones on your mind
Im moving in slow motion
Feels so good
Its a strange anticipation
Knock, knock, knocking on wood
Bodies working overtime
Man against man
And all that ever matters
Is baby whos ahead in the game
Funny but its always the same
Playing, playing with the boys
Playing, playing with the boys
After chasing sunsets
One of lifes simple joys
Is playing with the boys
Said it was the wrong thing
For me to do
I said its just a boys game
Girls play too
My heart is working overtime
In this kind of game
People get hurt
Im afraid that someone is me
If you want to find me, Ill be
Playing, playing with the boys
Staying, playing with the boys
After chasing sunsets
One of lifes simple joys
I dont want to be the moth around your fire
I dont want to be obsessed by my desire
Im ready, Im leaving
Ive seen enough
...with the boys
Ive seen enough
You play too rough
Playing, playing with the boys
Ill be staying, playing with the boys
After chasing sunsets
One of lifes simple joys
Is playing with the boys
Playing with the boys
Playing

Ill Do Anything

Go make your next choice be your best choice
And if youre looking for a boy with a voice, well baby Im single
Are you in the mood for some dude, are you in the mood to be subdued
Or would you rather just mingle?
Lets get set then to go then and let us jet set well be like the jetsons
You can be jane my wife. should I marry jane tonight?
I would if I could. Id do most anything spontaneously.
Or we can keep chilling like ice cream filling
We can cool in the gang if youd rather hang
Aint no thing. I can be lacubrious with you.
I got no ifs ands ors no wits or whats about it
But this place is getting crowded and my house is two blocks away
Or maybe closer
I would if I could. Id do most anything spontaneously.
You know I would, if I could. Ill do anything spontaneously.
If you could be nimble, youd have it simple just like me.
So go on and try it, do not deny yourself your freedom.
So step on up to the plate get a date with mraz
See you better act fast because supplies they never
Now did you knowe this is limited time offer
So go make your mind up before our times up
You better start winding it up because the partys almost over
(and if you should know girl, go a little bit lower now)
See how I would, if I could. Id do most anything spontaneously.
You know I would, and I can prove it. Ill do anything spontaneously.

The Cremona Violin

Part First

Frau Concert-Meister Altgelt shut the door.
A storm was rising, heavy gusts of wind
Swirled through the trees, and scattered leaves before
Her on the clean, flagged path. The sky behind
The distant town was black, and sharp defined
Against it shone the lines of roofs and towers,
Superimposed and flat like cardboard flowers.

A pasted city on a purple ground,
Picked out with luminous paint, it seemed. The cloud
Split on an edge of lightning, and a sound
Of rivers full and rushing boomed through bowed,
Tossed, hissing branches. Thunder rumbled loud
Beyond the town fast swallowing into gloom.
Frau Altgelt closed the windows of each room.

She bustled round to shake by constant moving
The strange, weird atmosphere. She stirred the fire,
She twitched the supper-cloth as though improving
Its careful setting, then her own attire
Came in for notice, tiptoeing higher and higher
She peered into the wall-glass, now adjusting
A straying lock, or else a ribbon thrusting

This way or that to suit her. At last sitting,
Or rather plumping down upon a chair,
She took her work, the stocking she was knitting,
And watched the rain upon the window glare
In white, bright drops. Through the black glass a flare
Of lightning squirmed about her needles. 'Oh!'
She cried. 'What can be keeping Theodore so!'

A roll of thunder set the casements clapping.
Frau Altgelt flung her work aside and ran,
Pulled open the house door, with kerchief flapping
She stood and gazed along the street. A man
Flung back the garden-gate and nearly ran
Her down as she stood in the door. 'Why, Dear,
What in the name of patience brings you here?

Quick, Lotta, shut the door, my violin
I fear is wetted. Now, Dear, bring a light.
This clasp is very much too worn and thin.
I'll take the other fiddle out to-night
If it still rains. Tut! Tut! my child, you're quite
Clumsy. Here, help me, hold the case while I -
Give me the candle. No, the inside's dry.

Never Ready For a Maiming

I'm not a cough dropp popper,
To hide a tainted breath.
If my breath gets that bad,
I'll get myself arrested.

You may offer your suggestions,
If onions eatened overwhelm.
But we're not together kissing.
So dismiss what you smell.

You're not all that...
To get me to believing there's an interest.

You ask me why my shoes aren't spitshined.
And my tie not straight...
As if we're dating,
To become cell mates.

Don't aggitate me please,
I'm not ready for it!
If I felt the need to strip...
I'll walk around,
And be naked!

You don't know my name!
And we wont get that far.
So there's no reason to make claims...
You and I have made arrangements.

Don't aggitate me please,
I'm not ready for it!
If I felt the need to strip...
I'll walk around,
And be naked!

So there's no reason to make claims...
You and I have made arrangements.

Estranged I'll be from those 'arrangements'.
Don't wanna woe.
Don't try to sell me those arrangements.
No woe I owe.
Don't get me panicked.
Don't get me panicked.
Don't get me panicked,
By arrangements.
Don't wanna woe.
No maniac will trap me training.
No woe I owe.
To get me ready for a maiming!

Tomorrow

I didnt know just what to say, when you turned and you looked my way
It doesnt happen to me every day, can we talk a while?
I didnt know just what to do, I couldnt seem to take my eyes off you
You know I wanted just to take you home, but thats not your style
And tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love
Tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love, tomorrow, tomorrow
I didnt even know your name, like a moth I was in your flame
I knew you wanted me to feel real good by the way you smiled
You didnt have to say a word, I tried to tell you, but I lost my nerve
You know I wanted just to slip away for a little while
And tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love
Tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love, tomorrow, tomorrow
Were gonna fall in love, fall in love, fall in love, fall in love with me
(but tonight, when the feeling feels so right, we got all the love we need)
I didnt know just what to say
This doesnt happen to me every day and thats not my style
And tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love
Tomorrow, were gonna fall in love, fall in love
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow
(tomorrow) were gonna fall in love, fall in love
(tomorrow) fall in love, fall in love
(tomorrow) fall in love, fall in love, (tomorrow) fall in love, fall in love

Fall Down Gently

She was only a girl, it was nobodys world
And she told me shed lived for a while
I was only 16 but I knew how to dream
I still dream though its way out of style
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all, down at all
We were took by surprise
As we looked at the size
Of the man that we all called the lord
Just between you and me
Well there werent much to see
What with helmet and blood-stained sword
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all, down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all, down at all
So it was somebodys world
And I was only the girl
And I told you Id be here for a while
cause when youre only 16
And you know how to dream
You keep dreaming til the dreaming gets wild
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all
Id rather fall down gently
Than never fall down at all

Virginia's Story

Elizabeth Gates-Wooten is my Grand mom.

She was born in Canada with her father and brothers.
They owned a Barber Shoppe.
I don't remember exactly where in Canada.
I believe it was right over the border like Windsor or Toronto.
I never knew exactly where it was.

When she was old enough she got married.

First, she married a man by the name of Frank Gates.
He was from Madagascar.
He fathered my mom and her brother and sister.
The boy's name was Frank Gates, Jr.
Two girls name were Anna and Agnes.

Agnes was my mother.

Frank Gates went crazy after the war
He drank a lot and died
Then grandma Elizabeth married a man by the name of Mr. Wooten.
He had a German name, but I don't think he was German.
She took his last name after they got married.

Then they moved to West Virginia in the United States.

Their son, Frank Gates Jr. Became a delegate in the democratic party.
He use to get into a lot of trouble because he liked to fight.
He was a delegate from the 1940's to 1970's.
He died of gout in the 1970's.

Anna was a maid and cook.

She baked cakes and stuff for people as a side line.
She had a hump on her back (scoliosis) .
She had to walk with a cane.
She could cook good though.
She did this kind of work all of her life, just like her mom, Elizabeth

They were both good cooks

They had a lot of money because they had these skills
Especially when people had parties.
Because they would make all of this food and then they would have left-overs.
We got to eat a lot of stuff we normally wouldn't get because of that.
When they cooked, they didn't use no measuring stuff, they would just use there hand.

My moms name was Agnes Barrie Gates.

She married James Wright and moved to Cleveland.

Playing For Time

Travel down the road of heartache
Hear an echo in my mind
Ive played with fire
Burned my fingers
Now Im gonna take my time
You dont have to shout about it
Cant you see it obvious
Feel (? ) its getting close to comfort
Why you makin such a fuss?
Take your time with
What youre doin
And youll see the skies appear
Seen and heard it all before her
Now you understand my fear
Cant you see the time will tell us
How its gonna always be
You can wrap me
Around your finger
And I aint no mystery
Playing for time
Thats all I can do
Im playing for time
Before I fall in love with you
You can push me every which way
Hey I got no place to fall
Guess youre gonna rue your bullshit
When your backs against the wall
Louder now thats what the games go(? ? ? ? )
And I bought the devil now(? ? ? )
You can get to dream about it
I wont need one anyhow
Playing for time
Thats all I can do
Playing for time
Before I fall in love
Playing for time
Thats all I wanna do
Playing for time
Before I fall in love
Oh, you dont have to shout about it
Cant you see it obvious
Feel its getting close for comfort

Brian Wilson Christmas Interview

Well, along with our special feature of this beach boys christmas album,
Once again Im happy to see the smiling face of the leader of
This popular group here in the studio, brian wilson.
Good to see you again, brian.
Hi, jack.
This beach boys christmas album is really something.
Ah, dick reynolds did the arrangements, I guess, huh?
Yes, he did. he did a beautiful job, a wonderful job.
Is this the first time youve worked with him?
Right. Id been, uh, wanting to meet him and work with him for quite a long time.
Now whos idea was it to have you featured on this, uh, one particular tune--i,
I was particularly impressed with it--a blue christmas.
Well, i... sort of picked out that song to sing for myself.
I, I love the song and uh, Ive always wanted to sing it, so I thought Id sing it.
Well, maybe this will be the start of a whole new career, huh?
I dont know, thats... it, it could, and it couldnt. ah... I really dont know.
Well, lets leave it to the listeners to see what they think of it.
Right.
I notice this album has uh, ah, along with some of the popular things like, uh,
Ill be home for christmas, uh, auld lang syne, and uh, um, we three kings
And some of the traditional things, that you have a couple of your,
Your own, uh, beach boys type sounds in the lp, too.
Uh-huh, weve more or less made one side, uh, our own style, and...
Kind of a teen side and an adult side.
Uh-huh, right, um-hm. contrasting.
Uh-huh. now, we have, uh, one of your originals coming up here, brian.
Uh, christmas day. you wrote this for the album specifically?
Yes, I did. uh-huh.
Uh-huh. and now, do you do your, the vocal arrangements,
Or did dick reynolds handle all of that?
Dick handled the vocal arrangements on the, ah, the modern side
--the traditional side--and I did the, ah, vocal and the
Arrangements of the music on our own style--our basic style--side.
Dick did the strings, also, on the, uh, on the modern side.
Coming up now, ah, a very sentimental type christmas song,
Particularly for those who are away from home during this time of year
--Ill be home for christmas. any, ah, thing particular about this,
This tune that youd like to say, brian?
Ah, well, I guess theres something very obvious when you hear the song.
Its, ah, theres a very definite influence of the four freshmen
On the arrangement as well as the delivery, and, uh, obviously
We all look up and admire the style of the four freshmen and,
Uh, I feel this has been the greatest--one of the greater--
Vocal influences, ah, in the world today.
Well, its certainly been, uh, nice of you to take the time to come
By again here for our special beach boys christmas show.
You have a fine album here and, uh, I hope youll be home for christmas.
Well, I hope I will, too. I hope everyones home for christmas.
I do, too. brian wilson, thanks again for coming by.
Thank you very much, jack.

John Adams Monarchical Ideas

SIR:- You complain that I have asserted that a partiality for monarchy appeared in your conduct. This fact you deny, and entreat me to bring forward the evidences which I suppose will warrant the assertion. The assertion was not founded on vague rumor, nor was it the result of any scattered and dubious expressions through your Defence of the American Constitutions that might warrant such a suspicion, but from my own judgment and observation soon after your return from Europe in the year 1788. There certainly was then an observable alteration in your whole deportment and conversation. Many of your best friends saw, felt, and regretted it. If time has not weakened your memory you will recollect many instances of yourself. I will remind you of a few. Do you not remember an interview at Cambridge soon after your return from England, when his lady and myself met you walking up to Mr. Gerry's? We stopped the carriage, and informed you that Mrs. Gerry and myself were engaged to take tea with Madam Winthrop. You returned and took tea with us at the house of that excellent lady. You will remember that Mr. Gerry's carriage was sent for me in the edge of the evening. You took a seat with me, and returned to Mr. Gerry's. Do you not recollect, sir, that in the course of conversation on the way you replied thus to something that I had observed?-'It does not signify, Mrs. Warren, to talk much of the virtue of Americans. more We are like all other people, and shall do like other nations, where all wellregulated governments are monarchic.' I well remember my own reply, 'That a limited monarchy might be the best government, but that it would be long before Americans would be reconciled to the idea of a king.' Do you not recollect that, a very, short time after this, Mr. Warren and myself made you a visit at Braintree? The previous conversation, in the evening, I do not so distinctly remember; but in the morning, at breakfast at Mercy your own table, the conversation on the subject of monarchy was resumed. Your ideas appeared to be favorable to monarchy, and to an order of nobility in your own country. Mr. Warren replied, 'I am thankful that I am a plebeian.' You answered: 'No, sir, you are one of the nobles. There has been a national aristocracy here ever since the country was settled,-your family at Plymouth, Mrs. Warren's at Barnstable, and many others in very many places that have kept up a distinction similar to nobility.' This conversation subsided by a little mirth. Do you not remember that, after breakfast, you and Mr. Warren stood up by the window, and conversed on the situation of the country, on the Southern States, and some principal characters there? You, with a degree of passion, exclaimed, 'They must have a master; ' and added, by a stamp with your foot, 'By God, they shall have a master.' In the course of the same evening you observed that you 'wished to see a monarchy in this country and an hereditary one too.' To this you say I replied as quick as lightning, 'And so do I too.' If I did, which I do not remember, it must have been with some additional stroke which rendered it a sarcasm. You added with a considerable degree of emotion that you hated frequent elections, that they were the ruin of the morals of the people, that when a youth you had seen iniquity practised at a town meeting for the purpose of electing officers, than you had ever seen in any of the courts in Europe. These conversations were not disseminated by me,-we were too much hurt by the apparent change of sentiment and manner; they were concealed in our own bosoms until time should develop the result of such a change in such a man. Is not the above sufficient to warrant everything that I have said relative to your monarchic opinions ? Had you recollected the conversations alluded to above, you would not I have asserted on your faith and honor that every sentiment in a paragraph you refer to is 'totally unfounded.' On your return from Europe it was generally thought that you looked coldly on your Republican friends and their families, and that you united yourself with the party in Congress who were favorers of monarchy; that the old Tories, denominating themselves Federalists, gathered round you. And did not your administration while in the presidential chair evince that you had no aversion to the usages of monarchic governments? Sedition, stamp, and alien laws, a standing army, house and land taxes, and loans of money at an enormous interest were alarming symptoms in the American Republic. Your removal from the chair by the free suffrages of a majority of the people of the United States sufficiently evinces that I was not mistaken when I asserted that 'a large portion' of the inhabitants of America from New Hampshire to Georgia viewed your political opinions in the same point of light in which I have exhibited them, and considered their liberties in imminent danger, without an immediate change of the Chief Magistrate. However, I never supposed that you had a wish to submit again to the monarchy of Great Britain, or to become subjugated to any foreign sovereign. An American monarchy with an American character at its head would, doubtless, have been more pleasing to yourself. The veracity of an historian is his strongest base; and I am sure I have recorded nothing but what I thought I had the highest reason to believe. If I have been mistaken I shall be forgiven; and, if there are errors, they will be candidly viewed by liberal-minded and generous readers. PLYMOUTH, MASS., 28 July, 1807.

Don't Stop (Doin It)

If you had the chance
I know you surely would
At any time I want it baby
I could
Said you\'d never saw it coming, did you dear
But you can run from everything you fear
Hey, don\'t you wanna fall in love?
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
Oh baby you and I
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love)
Why don\'t you push your precious pride aside
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
Oh yeah
Don\'t you wanna
Cause you can\'t let your whole life pass you by
Sure that you ain\'t had nothing like this before
You can be the same if I give anymore
I don\'t wanna waste none of your precious time
But you won\'t have no choice but to be mine
Baby don\'t you wanna live on a line
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
Don\'t you wanna
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love)
Yeah ohh, don\'t you wanna fall in love yeah
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
Yeaaaah
Cause you can\'t let your whole life pass you by oh
(You can\'t put nothing before your pride)
Oh I said nothing, nothing
But baby what I give you can lay your pride aside
(Baby don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
(Cause you could take it all night)
(And I make you see)
Fall in love with me
(Baby let me know don\'t you wanna fall)
Don\'t you wanna
(Baby don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
(Cause you could take it all night) Yeah yeah
(And I make you see)
(Baby let me know don\'t you wanna fall)
Don\'t you wanna fall in love
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
I said fall in love with me
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love)
Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)
Fall in love with me, I wanna fall, I wanna fall
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love)
Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
(Don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna, don\'t you wanna fall in love with me)

Mr. Dana, of the New York Sun

Thar showed up out'n Denver in the spring uv '81
A man who'd worked with Dana on the Noo York Sun.
His name wuz Cantell Whoppers, 'nd he wuz a sight ter view
Ez he walked inter the orfice 'nd inquired fer work ter do.
Thar warn't no places vacant then,--fer be it understood,
That wuz the time when talent flourished at that altitood;
But thar the stranger lingered, tellin' Raymond 'nd the rest
Uv what perdigious wonders he could do when at his best,
Till finally he stated (quite by chance) that he hed done
A heap uv work with Dana on the Noo York Sun.

Wall, that wuz quite another thing; we owned that ary cuss
Who'd worked f'r Mr. Dana must be good enough fer us!
And so we tuk the stranger's word 'nd nipped him while we could,
For if we didn't take him we knew John Arkins would;
And Cooper, too, wuz mouzin' round fer enterprise 'nd brains,
Whenever them commodities blew in across the plains.
At any rate we nailed him, which made ol' Cooper swear
And Arkins tear out handfuls uv his copious curly hair;
But we set back and cackled, 'nd bed a power uv fun
With our man who'd worked with Dana on the Noo York Sun.

It made our eyes hang on our cheeks 'nd lower jaws ter drop,
Ter hear that feller tellin' how ol' Dana run his shop:
It seems that Dana wuz the biggest man you ever saw,--
He lived on human bein's, 'nd preferred to eat 'em raw!
If he hed Democratic drugs ter take, before he took 'em,
As good old allopathic laws prescribe, he allus shook 'em.
The man that could set down 'nd write like Dany never grew,
And the sum of human knowledge wuzn't half what Dana knew;
The consequence appeared to be that nearly every one
Concurred with Mr. Dana of the Noo York Sun.

This feller, Cantell Whoppers, never brought an item in,--
He spent his time at Perrin's shakin' poker dice f'r gin.
Whatever the assignment, he wuz allus sure to shirk,
He wuz very long on likker and all-fired short on work!
If any other cuss had played the tricks he dared ter play,
The daisies would be bloomin' over his remains to-day;
But somehow folks respected him and stood him to the last,
Considerin' his superior connections in the past.
So, when he bilked at poker, not a sucker drew a gun
On the man who 'd worked with Dana on the Noo York Sun.

Wall, Dana came ter Denver in the fall uv '83.
A very different party from the man we thought ter see,--
A nice 'nd clean old gentleman, so dignerfied 'nd calm,
You bet yer life he never did no human bein' harm!
A certain hearty manner 'nd a fulness uv the vest
Betokened that his sperrits 'nd his victuals wuz the best;
