This I Can Not Take

Utter disappointment does not even begin to describe
The emotions I feel now, as I am moved to scribe!
What must be done, so that justice reigns! ? !
Truth is the only 'side'-nowhere near what she feigns!

I have valiantly served, for rights now denied;
What about my Daughter-who, but me, is on her side! ?
The bias, driven by fear illogical, obviates;
The resultant lack of respect devastates!

When is the natural order to be restored?
When will my righteousness no longer be ignored?
Play no longer, this game of empty threats-
Take me in front of my peers, and see what that gets! !

If but my honor was all that was at stake,
I would bow, yet to abandon her-this I can not take!

About Two Ants Transformed Into Fireflies

what happened last night was beautiful
i ask you if i can write about it
you say no, it is so beautiful and must remain private

but i have decided to write it anyhow
in some metaphors: it was about two ants transformed
by love into fireflies.

This Life Can Be A Battle

This life can be a battle most live from day to day
And for billions of people 'tis uphill all of the way
Yet the longer that we do live the sooner we will die
And in life not everyone is equal unless you believe the lie
That everyone is born equal though with that I can't agree
That does seem patronizing talk or so 'twould seem to me
So many living in poverty and of hope in despair
Believe me 'tis a rat race in the bigger World out there
This life can be a battle for the billions in poverty
You cannot tell these people about equality
Since they would not listen to you in life they struggle on
And any hope of happiness from them seems to be gone
This life can be a battle life's uphill road is steep
And many homeless people without a bed on which to sleep.

Nothing Can Be Done

Music by larry klein words by joni mitchell
Must I forgive you
Each time
And say you dont know what yourre doing
There are no victimless crimes
I know of
Out here in these graffiti ruins
My love
Oh I am not old
Im told
But I am not young
Oh and nothing can be done
Dont start
My heart
Is a smoking gun
Oh and nothing can be done
I heard you leaving
Late last night
I heard you screaming down the mountain
Like you were running red lights
(red lights)
You had some trash-can-rock-band pounding
Oh I am not old
Im told
But I am not young
Oh and nothing can be done
Dont start
My heart
Is a smoking gun
Oh and nothing can be done
Must I surrender
With grace
The things I loved when I was younger
(sweet embrace)
Must I remember your face
So well
What do I do here with this hunger
Oh I am not old
Im told
But I am not young
Oh and nothing can be done
Dont start
My heart
Is a smoking gun
Oh and nothing can be done
Nothing can be done
Nothing can be done
Oh nothing can be done

Of This You Can Be Sure

The summer sun rises over the hills,
With a beauty and certain grace,
But it cannot compete with the beauty of you,
Or the beauty of your face.

The falling snow in wintertime,
Makes everything look so new,
But it cannot compare with the beauty,
The beauty that is you.

The birds in springtime sing their song,
So sweetly and so pure,
But they cannot compare with your sweet words,
Of this you can be sure.

The colorful leaves on autumn trees,
All covered with morning dew,
May be glorious in their beauty,
But are nothing compared to you.

All the wonders on this fine earth,
And the glory of up above,
Are nothing compared to your sweet charms,
Or the beauty of your love.

Can't Stop Thinkin' About You

Oooooh oooh ohhh oooh ooooh ohh ohh
Ohhh ohhh oooh ohhh...

You're in my mind
All the time
My thoughts
Are always of you
There are so many things
That we promised each other
That we would do

But since you went away
My heart has been in so much pain
It seems that everything we've been through
Has been in vain

And I can't stop thinkin' about you
And I wouldn't if I could
But I can't keep waking up
With dreams of you

And you should have known
When you told me you loved me
That you were deceiving
I have faith that the hurt that I feel
Deep inside will soon be leaving

But now I'm all alone
And I can't stop thinkin' of you
To hold you in my arms once again
Is all I wanna do

And I can't stop thinkin' about you
And I wouldn't if I could
But I can't keep waking up
With dreams of you

This Love Can Never Ever Expire

This Love Can Never Ever Expire
Written by: Wilfred Charles Mellers, Saturday, November 12,2011 @ 11: 34 AM

A love like mine is hard to define
It sweetens like berries ripened on a vine
My love is hard to control
My very being I give to you, my very heart and soul

My eyes are now clear
When I close them you appear
You’re in my every dream
You make me float on a mystic airstream

Your kiss brings me so much bliss
Your embrace I surely do miss
A love like mine is beyond measure
Seeing you brings so much pleasure

All I want to do is hold you
From all despairs, you I’ll rescue
A happy life I’ve seen a preview
For you are everything I want to cling to

So much love with you I have to share
Every waking moment I want you near
Tender lover I’ll be to you I swear
Never shall you ever shed another tear

Give me your love for is all I require
Passions burn a blazing wildfire
You are all I truly desire
This love can never ever expire

Time To Make You Mine (In My Dreams Mix)

Time to make you mine --- Lisa Stansfield
Written by Stansfield/Devaney/Morris
>From the album "Real Love"
Only in my dreams
I've seen the way it's gonna be
I've waited for this moment
the moment when we shared ourselves
this moment can't be thought about
It has to be felt
We're closer to each other
closer than we've ever been
Seeing things things we've never seen before
I've dreamed your fingers touch me a thousand thime
Dreamed the warm skin of your body burning next to mine
Kissed you sugar lips, carressed your hips
Now we're together baby now it's time..
time to make you mine
time to make you mine
The sweet anticipation of hands I know with touch me soon
Two fascination shadows move in time
Spoken..
I know what it's gonna be
me and you you and me
I thought that it would never be
I only knew it in my dreams
Even though you're here with me
I never thought I'd feel such ecstasy
We're closer to each other
Closer than we've ever been
Seeing things things we've never seen before

You Never Can Be Too Sure About That Girl

You sure know what your name is, you sure of where ya live
You know how much you make, ah, ya know how much you give
You know where your house is, you know which road to take
Ah, youre sure bout lots of things, look out theres one mistake
Chorus:
There just aint no doubt, theres just one thing youre never too sure about
Never can be too sure about the girl
Oh, you never can be too sure about the girl
You leave her there, when you get back
She calls ya bill, when your name is jack
Never can be too sure about the girl
You know about the truth, you can see it in her eyes
One thing you know about love, itll cut ya down to size
You hear what they tell you, do you do what youre told
And if they say yes, does it mean its really so?
(chorus)
Youre ready for the thrill tonight, you think youll take it slow
But shes forgotten more, boy, than you will ever know
She calls you up in the middle of the night, she says shes lonesome and alone
Youre all revved up, finally some place to go
You knock on that door - nobodys home
Never can be too sure about the girl
Ooh, you never can be too sure about the girl
You leave her there, when you get back
She calls ya bill, when your name is jack
Never can be too sure about the girl
Oh, you never can be too sure about the girl
Shell drive you crazy boy, oh, girl, no no
Never can be too sure about the girl
Never too sure, never too sure, never too sure, never too sure
Never too sure about that girl
No, you never can be too sure about the girl
Oh, you never can be too sure about the girl... (to fade)

That poem

It was a day much like any other.
Too many letters to open right now;
The phone pipped and bleeped and hissed
as it recorded too many requests
to read here, go there, answer these questions,
be interviewed;
why did you write this poem,
did you mean – ten lines
of prosaic speculation follow, about some mere
two words; wouldn’t this poem
be better without the last two lines?

please read my poems and
return the manuscript with
your extensive comments…
(the invisible PS reads ‘I’m just
as good as you, and younger, and, moreover,
more in touch’…)

the occasional face peering
over the gate; once every few weeks
a stranger boldly knocking at the door
so sure the poet would be glad
to meet a fan, unannounced,
eager to tell them what their
poetry really meant…

his fame, like some dark aura
which he would have craved, in those days
when he rose early, wrote for hours
to preserve his sanity, before he went out
to that job which made him miserable – his fame
now pressed around, demanding.

It was a day much like any other:
a poem might come, life
might flow; flow down, flow through, flow out..

Dusk and a sigh and a laying down of pen;
should today’s lines go straight into the overflowing bin,
or be returned to tomorrow, in the fresh of day -
there seemed to be something there
around coffee time that morning,
it was going somewhere…

Years later, this poem, found in his
random papers when his widow
paid her last gleaning respects to the genius
which she loved less certainly
than she loved the man –

this poem would be pounced upon,
chewed, spat out with discriminating pride
by literati – look, our idol has his feet of clay..
shall we measure his greatness by his failure
or feed our envy and our self-regard?

No. Sit here, in his chair; take up his pen;
put that poem in front of you;
be there, on that day like any other
when no sublime inspiration came;
yet, work was done, somewhere, innerly;
know that;
love poetry.

Perhaps....

i like the way you imagine yourself to be more rooted to earth.
As though, earth is all the wealth we can have.
As though, what is in heaven is more or less the same as this earth can offer.
You mention about stem cell therapy.
It is like saying that you want to be here forever
Live life and if there is a chance never to die
or if there is this Second Coming
that you must be one of those counted not to die and still witness
the coming of the Lord in Glory.
You shall meet God without the pain of dying.
That is a good idea.

For how long do you stick to this ambition of painlessness?

You know what a tree is? Sometimes they are cut
Then made into planks
Sawed into desired measurements
Planed into a desired smoothness
Lacquered
Only to be made into another
niche
or coffin.

I like the way you love life.
Perhaps even love it forever.
I have it and will be having it in its fullness.
I guess i have arrived at the point of just not wanting it anymore.
Not that i will end myself,
that is definitely far from
it,

I am just excited and i want that this waiting be not that long.
I wonder how is it to travel with my own
Gossamer wings
in those unknown skies
into those
uncharted oceans of
spaces.

Perhaps by then i can fly to Venus
and perhaps i shall tell you that there are more lives
and views
and perspectives
in there.

More beautiful than you can imagine.
perhaps, i can tell
you
later.

I Read Psalm 30

Say, it’s the first day
of your holiday in the country or the wild:

you’ve slept so well, you go out
just as dawn is about to break,
to take in your surrounding:
fields, woods, forests, mountains;

there’s dew on the ground, moist air
gently rolling off the mountains;

everything seems, at this precious moment,
to know all about two great events:
sleeping and resting, and waking and being alive;

you take it all in for a moment;
then maybe, light a cigarette,
think of your first cup of coffee,
congratulate yourself for living the good life..

or maybe something in you would like,
as the first slow sunlight makes rainbows
in each dropp of dew in front of you,
to say thank you to someone or something;

maybe you believe a bit in God
while freely admitting, you don’t understand
anything about His – or Her, or Its – nature;

and maybe that sense of wonder
that crept up on you
slips into a sort of thankful praise; and that
expands the wonder wonderfully, until

you’re living surrounded by wonder;

and if someone said to you standing there,
don’t you feel that all around us,
we are looking, smelling, tasting, hearing,
in the silence and the stillness, something of
the nature of God? you might
say, something like that…

maybe the psalmist is right,
God ‘needs’, too, in a way;
needs human beings to wonder at him,
thank him, praise him, celebrate him…

maybe the mind loves innocence,
the heart, to sing and dance…

Gift from almighty

No one can define actual poetry
It is simple gift from almighty
No one can claim high on it
Not everybody can excel or fit

It can be felt at any point of time
You may be feeling very uneasy sometimes
The grief and pain evaporates in the form of words
The only way open for us is to forget and look forward

It is said pain may be felt less
If you reveal it to some other face
Sometimes it is fool’s paradise
Whole life is spent on false promises

The words can express what is going on in mind
Its melody and depth can be felt even by the blind
It needs no insight or long vision
It is easy and effective transmission

Some of individuals resort to poetry while facing grief
Their attachment to such passion is very brief
They will go back to original mood once it is over
They want only part time refuge or cover

Poetry in fact is worship to almighty
It is in different form and variety
Hymns can be chanted and songs composed
Broken hearts are brought together and faith reposed

This all can be done with the purity of soul
You will never go wrong or commit foul
You are on right track and can take credit
Your creation is original and need not be put to edit

Not all can strive for or become poet
One must be very serious, honest and quiet
It is to be explored for common good
The songs and verses should be properly understood

It is service to the mankind in large scale
Every where we may find the unhappiness and pain
The poems can inject new waves of enthusiasm
At least it can turn into optimism from pessimism

A Time To Write About Time

how do you write time? as simple as asking what time is it?
and then you look at your watch and say
without much thinking about how time passed swiftly and how
it affected you leaving you another lock of white hair
and sense of nostagia of
i am left out here and i have done nothing about the passing of time

it is 8: 17 in the morning, you hear some roosters still cocking out
their maleness to the hens laying their eggs in the warmth of their
quest for more of them

scrambled eggs and scratches on the grass for food

now finally i have found time to write about time
for eyes to look into my own eyes for hands to work on my own hands

time swiftly passes by
and i have noticed more wrinkles on my hands, more lines on my
forehead, eyebags, weakened knees, blisters on my feet, sagging cheeks, falling flesh on my arms,

my heart beats faster on the worry of
i have not done well enough and time passed by leaving me away
with this feeling of

there they are on happy faces with children and grandchildren
and birthdays and deaths and graduations and anniversaries

where are we my dear? we are in this house where there are only
two of us left
we are watching tv and this advertisement on milk for old age
and new born babies

how can we relate to the time that i am writing? i sit beside you,
i hug you again (for the nth time of this almost 30 years of being
together)

i turn off the tv, and let the silence be with us again
i hold your hand, and tell you the usual sweetest words
your name, i always say your name
and my name, you always call me by my name

i hold your hand, your head on my shoulder, we sit together
facing the sunset on the sea on the horizon where birds are flying towards their own nests

it is 5: 15 p.m., time is not freezing. it need not stop just like the
way we really want it

How Silly Is This? ...or...Does Your Next Move Matter? .....[Personal; Life; Death]

Why do I care at all what next I do in life?
After all I'm the boss of me...though I don't say that to my wife.

Well sometimes I do care, but should it really matter?
Is it better to be Alice or better to be Mad Hatter?

What it really comes down to is the LITTLE decisions I make.
Shall I immerse myself in a novel, or out-the-garbage-take?
Well, luckily, as I'm retired, I've more leeway in my choices.
I've got time to respond to my mind's contradictory voices.

I should not feel guilty, and try not to feel guilty, about what I do next.
I'm the boss after all, so 'Let me not be vexed'!
Shall I start a new poem? It seems the thing to do.
The household chores I have in mind can wait a day or two.

I've lived a pretty full life. I'm satisfied with myself.
What things I don't do from now on can just stay on 'the shelf'.

I think I've done enough to live up to expectations,
and if I don't 'measure up' then DAMN the calculations! !

My dear Mother is long since gone, but still her lead I follow.
I think my days contain some goodness; they are not just hollow.
I don't believe in 'God', but if I did I think She would agree
that I've done what is expected, and She'd smile at me.

And although I've had relationships in which 'some' have said I failed,
I truly believe they ended because my EFFORTS were bewailed.
And perhaps as some small evidence that I was not a cad:
my major former partners, to talk to me these days, are glad.

And if you believe humans have a duty to pass on DNA,
I've performed my 'duty'. (But it was only to let my first wife have her way.)

Well I guess I got a little carried away with this poem, but ain't it all the same?
To take out garbage, or write a poem, or have a child…it's all a game.
It's part of the game of life and who's to say what and if it does matter.
But let not this, my casual-view-of-life, your outlook on YOUR life shatter.

(July 2012)

I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson

Artist: jazzy jeff & the fresh prince
2 old men:
Hey...hey leroy...leroy
Yeah
Did you hear about that boy mike tyson?
Mike...mike tyson hes the boy
That played football from montreal aint he?
No no you old coop, he a...he a boxer man
Yeah
Let me tell ya I went to his fight a couple months ago.
I seen him hit this boy, and he hit the boy so hard
His head flew off into the eigtheenth row
(laughing)
They had to get his head out of the eighteenth row
[prince & jeff]
I was in jeffs crib one night about eight
And we were watchina couple of mike tyson fight tapes
Jeff was like...
Man, you see how hard mikes punchin?
Come on jeff the other guy was just lungin
Left, right, left, right, another k.o.
If that was me Id a been ok though
The very next day I gave russell a ring
With j.l. and omar we all called don king
I said yeah, don I got a problem
Tell em prince
yeah whats up? what you sayin? you tryin to solve em?
forget the small talk lets get to the nitty gritty
me and mike, two months, trump, atlantic city
Yo, you got this you gonna bust dude up
Yeah, you can be my trainer
Word up?
Im rough like a freight train smooth like ice
And yo jeff, straight up, I think I can mike tyson
Man, you can beat him, you can beat him
Yo man, word up
Yo I put on a couple of pounds man we can do this
You can do it
Newspaper boy, old men:
Extra, extra read all about it
Fresh prince challenges iron mike tyson to a fight
(laughing)
Ah hes crazy
Aint that the boy who knocked the guys head in the fifthteen row?
Hey leroy, you read the paper?
That boy done lost his man
[prince, barber]
There was press conference to see what training I was doing
Before then I had never heard reporters booing
Cameras flashing I was in the middle
I didnt wanna look dumb so I exagerrated a little
I said uh I been training 2o hours a day
Lifting big old cars and big bails of hay (thats what hes doin)
And I run 10,000 miles every morning
Thinkin about mike and my moment of glory
(tell em more)
I drink water 20 gallons a pop
And I can throw a volkswagon a whole half block
(he can do it too)
And 4 million sit ups...in a minute....
..i aint lying I did it
(he done it)
The general public thought I was a fool
I was gettin dissed but I guess that was cool
Well gettin dissed is never good
But I was even gettin dissed in my old nieghborhood
I was at the corner at the top of my block
There was a couple of people standing outside of the barber shop
It was larwence, my barber, and franny
He yelled out
Hey, prince, you can win!
I said really? and I stopped to chat
You could beat him man, if you hit him wit a bat
Ha ha...you gon get whipped
But can I have your shoes when he break your neck?
Everybody was laughin out loud
I thought at least my own grandma would be proud
I went to her house and snuck in to surpise her
I heard her on the phone
(a thousand bucks on tyson)
[prince, ring announcer]
Its fight day and man am I hyped
Woah I cant wait to see mike
Boy Im hyped ready to be my thing
Trump castle casino
In this corner...weighing in
At a mere 165 pounds, the lighting rodent,
The fresh prince! (booing)
And in this corner...
The heavyweight champion of the world...
Iron mike tyson (cheering)
I came out hustling sliding and grabbing
Slippin and dippin hustlin and jabbin
For a second I looked good out there
But then mike brought to reality my worst nightmare
One punch, thats all it took (oooh)
He hit me in my ribs and my insides shook
Now how can I say this and be a little discreet
Lets just say that my bowels released
I called timeout and went back to my corner
Said to my coach aint no way Im goin
The hell back out there, man you cant forget it
My bodys like a punchin bag and mike is gonna (hit it)
They tried to make me go meet my doom
But I sucker punched my coach and hauled to my dressing room
The next day the headline in the town
fresh prince breaks camp, tyson wins first round
Some fool asked why I ran away
I said a good run is better than a bad stand anyday
My career is over as far as fightin
But I dont know what made me think I can beat mike tyson
2 old men:
Hey leroy!
Yeah
Did you see the fight? did you see the fight?
The..the..the football player?
No the boxer, come on man
I was at the fight last night
I paid four hundred and seventy fo thousand dollars
For my ticket right...
Ah, you werent at no fight
I seen you around here last night
..and the boy..the boy ran out the ring
You always lying
I aint lying...
You lie to your grandkids..
..i seen it...
...you been lying ever since you was a little kid
...mike tyson punched the boy in his ribs, and his leg fell off
His leg fell off and it fell over...
...you always lying
...and it knocked the hbo camermans camera fell out his hand
I said, God damn, I couldnt beleive it leroy
You shoulda been there...you definetly shoulda been there
...i was right next to you playin checkers
