To help all created things, that is the measure of all our responsibility; to be helped by all, that is the measure of our hope.

All the things that brought us home/Sve ono sto nas je dovelo kuci

All the things that brought us home
We took them for awhile
Gently to the heart
Gently to the breast
To feed the hungry sky

All days that brought us here
Passages of time
We took them for not more
Than a living moment

And now we glisten in the heart of Crone
Beauty beat and pulse alone

Sve ono što nas je dovelo kuci
Na nako vrijeme uzesmo
Blago pri scru
Blago na grudi
Gladno nebo da hranimo

Sve dane što nas doniješe ovdje
Prolaze vremenog
Ne uzesmo više
No živi tren

I sad smo u srcu Hrona sjaj
Ljepote bilo samotan otkucaj

The Little Things That I Can Do

to be what i am
is first,
to affirm what you are
is another,
to be in harmony
with nature,
to live in peace
to work for progress
to respect others
to love God and country
but God above all
with all my mind, my heart and soul
these are the little things
that i think i can do well
even without my government
aiding.

For The Things That You Fear

the things that we
fear sometimes are nothing but shadows

of our hands and feet
and the words of our mouths
and sighs

when we wake up
and go outside the door of the house
naked

we soon find that all these shadows
are nothing but the makings
of the room

when the sun rises
as we bathe in its light
all the fears
are finally gone

we will find ourselves
naked on the grass
and too beautiful to
behold

The Things that Cause a Quiet Life

My friend, the things that do attain
The happy life be these, I find:
The riches left, not got with pain,
The fruitful ground; the quiet mind;

The equal friend; no grudge, no strife;
No charge of rule nor governance;
Without disease the healthy life;
The household of continuance;

The mean diet, no dainty fare;
True wisdom joined with simpleness;
The night discharged of all care,
Where wine the wit may not oppress;

The faithful wife, without debate;
Such sleeps as may beguile the night:
Content thyself with thine estate,
Neither wish death, nor fear his might.

It's the little things that make a big difference.

some say it's the little things that matter,
i'm starting to see why,
these are the moments that you remember,
when somebody takes the time,
to do something special,
that one little thing,
can brighten up somebodys day,
i'm not a hard person to please,
it just that some take me for granted,
they bring out the worse in me,
of course i'm going to ask for more,
i love to share my kindness,
but only to ppl who deserve it,
call me mean,
i'm starting not to care,
if i cared what everybody think,
just to make them happy,
all of that don't mean a thing,
if i'm not the one happy.

About Things That Tumble

at the table
spoons and forks, knives
things tumble down
lips trembling
sad stories and handkerchiefs
tears
you know what i mean
there are three of us
one is an outpouring of
rain
we choose the sunshine and
clouds
we look at each other
you know what i mean
we understand now
there is too much about
these things that tumble
falling earth
ascending sun
and crumbling cliffs
what do we get?

what do we have to do with
all these
things that tumble down?

we help ourselves with what we have
we move on
with all that we keep
memories and the will
determination and speed
there are two of us now
the rain stops
it begins to understand
we choose
sunshine and clouds and
days.

The Things That We Do

Verse 1:
Every day that goes by
Every moment youll find
Theres a broken heart
A tear is cried
A wish is made
That never comes true
And somewhere someone needs to be found
Chorus:
The things we do, the things we say
Are gentle rays of hope that touch us all each day
The things we do, the things we say
These are the greatest gifts well ever give away
The things we do
Verse 2:
Every day in this life
Every moment youll find
A heart is healed
A dream is found
A tear is dried
And laughter is heard
And somehow someones life will be changed by
Chorus:
The things we do, the things we say
Are gentle rays of hope that touch us all each day
The things we do, the things we say
These are the greatest gifts well ever give away
The things we do
Bridge:
Oh every hand that has been held
Has reached out for somebody else
In every move we make
Every day
We pass love on this way
Chorus

For The Things That We Promised Not To Do

this poem is dedicated for all the things
that i do not want to do anymore
like spending sleepless night
on a poem that i am writing
about you
like having more cups of coffee
to my system
that shakes because of too much caffeine
like spending more hours on the computer
surfing for more beautiful images
of a blooming red rose with some dews still
fresh on its petals
like having to chat with you
saying nothing important really except some
lousy words like ' i miss you babe'
' i need to talk to you'
'can i see you tomorrow? '

i hate myself for doing these things
i like to quit and just be simple like everybody's
simpleton or moron or special child
i really hate myself for doing these things that i do not like to do anymore
but what can i do?

i am a slave of my own feelings
my brain is misplaced my eyes no longer the sentinels of my being
my body does not serve its sole purpose of carrying my soul
to the inner peace of my still pond.

what can i do? this poem, yes this poem is so dedicated.

The Things That I Used To Do

Things that I used to do
Never do them no more baby
Things that I used to do
I aint never gonna do them no more
Used to bother you around
Tears in my eye, low to the ground
Try and get slower, we been nowhere
You would leave me
Like twinkle soul
Is where to go
Baby you and me
Get with the roll
Heres a love song yeah
And Im gonna sing it to you so slow
In your eardrum getting ready
All night long I rock steady
Always glowing like rudolphs nose at
Christmas time
Sure to glowin
Shining, undermining,
In your veins all in your mind
Upside you brain
Knock down deliver like hot tamales
I start to simmer
Things that I used to do
I aint never gonna umm do them no
More
Things that I used to do...yeah
Never ever gonna do them no more
Used to bother you around
Tears in my eye, sinkin low to the ground
Lower than the ocean, swimmin in the
Sea
Like I m a sword fish, check me
Baby shinin all night long
Just to get some
The things the house man used to do
Never ever gonna do them no more
Yeah the thing that the marshmellow
Man- jimmy -jazz prescot on the bass
Used to do
Never ever gonna do them no more
The things that I used to do
Never never never never gonna do them no
More

The Things That We Tend To Ignore

'Tis said that money makes more money and 'tis also said that much wants more
But the things in our lives that most matter are the things that we tend to ignore
Such as happiness, joy and contentment these are the things money can't buy
Though money in life is important and it's value how can one deny.

He's a millionaire forty times over and he is one who has it made
And he rakes in large sums of money and he knows the tricks of the trade
But in his heart he doesn't feel happy and in ways he feels quite insecure
And the one who is seen as successful you might say is mentally poor.

For his teenage son and daughter he's bought two new computers and he's bought a new merc for his wife
But he is a man without laughter and something is missing in his life
Still his money can't buy him what he's missing for to be locked in a safe in the wall
For happiness cannot be purchased and it is the best gift of all.

Success it can be gauged by money one might say that we've heard that before
But that money in life is important is a thing we ought not to ignore
Still the one paid for to sing not as happy as the one who for happiness sing
And there is so much truth in the saying that in life 'we can't have everything'.

The Things That Some Women Put Up With

There is more to life for any woman than being a faithful and a devoted wife
To a selfish and egotistical fellow until the last day of her life
To one who remains as a rude teenager in his behaviour who uses her as his sexual toy
She cares for him and for their children whilst the good life he seems to enjoy.

He is with his mates in the pub after work in the evening mostly talking about football
The things they see in life as important are not that important at all
She even knows he has a mistress who gives him his 'bit on the side'
Though for her self esteem that cannot be good as well as harmful to her sense of pride.

The things that some women put up with from arrogant self centred men
They feel trapped in their hopeless marriage as if they were locked in a pen
A pen that they cannot escape from some as prisoners of their marriage vows stay
For love that cloud our eyes to the faults of others the price can be so big to pay.

The things that some women put up with to keep their bad marriage alive
As if without their selfish husbands that they could not manage to survive
Their marriage vows to them so sacred that they have to live out their life span
With one who does not even respect them an arrogant self centred man

The Things That Dreams Are Made Of

Take time to see the wonders of the world
To see the things youve only ever heard of
Dream life the way you think it ought to be
See things you thought youd never ever see
Take a cruise to china
Or a train to spain
Go round the world
Again and again
Meet a girl on a boat
Meet a boy on a train
And fall in love
Without the pain
Everybody needs love and adventure
Everybody needs cash to spend
Everybody needs love and affection
Everybody needs 2 or 3 friends
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
Take a lift to the top of the empire state
Take a drive across the golden gate
March, march, march across red square
Do all the things youve ever dared
Everybody needs love and adventure
Everybody needs cash to spend
Everybody needs love and affection
Everybody needs 2 or 3 friends
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
Like fun and money and food and love
And things you never thought of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
New york, ice cream, tv, travel, good times
Norman wisdom, johnny, joey, dee dee, good times
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of
These are the things
These are the things
The things that dreams are made of

The Things That Matter

NOW that I've nearly done my days,
And grown too stiff to sweep or sew,
I sit and think, till I'm amaze,
About what lots of things I know:
Things as I've found out one by one--
And when I'm fast down in the clay,
My knowing things and how they're done
Will all be lost and thrown away.

There's things, I know, as won't be lost,
Things as folks write and talk about:
The way to keep your roots from frost,
And how to get your ink spots out.
What medicine's good for sores and sprains,
What way to salt your butter down,
What charms will cure your different pains,
And what will bright your faded gown.

But more important things than these,
They can't be written in a book:
How fast to boil your greens and peas,
And how good bacon ought to look;
The feel of real good wearing stuff,
The kind of apple as will keep,
The look of bread that's rose enough,
And how to get a child asleep.

Whether the jam is fit to pot,
Whether the milk is going to turn,
Whether a hen will lay or not,
Is things as some folks never learn.
I know the weather by the sky,
I know what herbs grow in what lane;
And if sick men are going to die,
Or if they'll get about again.

Young wives come in, a-smiling, grave,
With secrets that they itch to tell:
I know what sort of times they'll have,
And if they'll have a boy or gell.
And if a lad is ill to bind,
Or some young maid is hard to lead,
I know when you should speak 'em kind,
And when it's scolding as they need.

I used to know where birds ud set,
And likely spots for trout or hare,
And God may want me to forget
The way to set a line or snare;
But not the way to truss a chick,
To fry a fish, or baste a roast,
Nor how to tell, when folks are sick,
What kind of herb will ease them most!

Forgetting seems such silly waste!
I know so many little things,
And now the Angels will make haste
To dust it all away with wings!
O God, you made me like to know,
You kept the things straight in my head,
Please God, if you can make it so,
Let me know something when I'm dead.

i am inside this system.
this cell. there are instructions.
no refusal. just plain moving on
not stopping. move.

i want to get out. i can't.
i am doing the things that i do not like
doing anymore.
i am lost. i am stressed out.

For The Things That We Cannot Change

for things that we cannot change
we may let them be

hence, i do not wish to change you
for you cannot be you

there is a time always to pray
to know what we can change and what we cannot

to know what is the difference between the two
i have limits too

for things that i can change for those i cannot
i may soon take my leave and go

to places where we do not mind each other anymore
where you are free to grow and be yourself

where i cannot see you anymore and then
i may stop gritting my own teeth

Things That Own Us!

things that we feel are wrong,
and yet we turn the other way.
acts of oppression committed
by those in power,
and yet we close our eyes.
people around us in need,
yet all we worry about is ourselves.
inhumane actions that we allow,
by not standing, not speaking,
and not acting.
injustices fed by our indifference.
human rights violated to the tune
of our apathy, and our blindness.
hatred, prejudice, and violence
that we choose to do nothing about.
despair that we leave for others...
fears that we do not face...

these are the things that own us!

Things That Thrill You

Nothing to read for escapism or dreams,
only Arthur Mee's Encyclopaedia printed
before World War II taken with me when
I went for coffee - printed in 1933 - joy in
Britain about Broadcasting House and the
BBC, commemorate listening to news of
the King's demise, marvelling at the new
technology, the main announcer being the
most loved voice in the British Isles

Told commiserating colleagues of my dire
lack of reading matter - An outrage - they
exclaimed, having to read that old book -
I described a new scene in my Government
opera where former official's souls are stuck
in an eternal Indaba held in the Government
Valhalla, all stoppering their ghostly ears with
ectoplasm as a long-winded Chief Director
delivers an interminable speech

This is a scene in hell! - they exclaimed and
ran away - My point exactly - I told their re-
treating backs; returned to my desk to read
my guru's advice - ‘Being happy is the cor-
nerstone of your being, choose things that
thrill you' - writing my Opera thrills me, but
anglicising French texts on how politicians
bankrupted a country in Africa does not,
they destroyed their own soul

Like a snake swallowing itself
