Although The Snow Is Beautiful

It's the season of cabin fever.
And tempers flair...
To heat up.
When the snow begins to dropp a lot.
With a leaving of people cooped up shut.
Behind sealed doors and windows locked.

And though a Winter brings its cold,
There is a Spring that brings on Summer.
And a hibernating holds,
There is a Spring that brings on Summer.
And,
Beautiful the snow...
There is a Spring that brings on Summer,
With an opening of doors.

What could be your achievement

What could be your achiement

Your position
Your property
Your power
Your managing skills
Your wealth
Your happiness
Your health
Your fame and name
And so many other skills

None of the above

These all will vanish
And will go into oblivion
Once you depart
And you are on the path
Of disappearing
As each second, minute, hour, day
Is racing you nearer
To that ultimate end

All the above
Will go and you are
Likely to be lost
From the memory of
Your own near and dears,
Leave alone the world

All your materialistic acquisitions
Are likely to lead to family feuds
And there will be total discomfort
Among your own people
History is replete with such cases
You will, in fact, be cursed
For all the earnings you made
Be it by fair means or otherwise

We have seen small possessions of
Even great people
Created warring situations
When they came up for auctions
With regard to their realisations

Materialistic achievement is no
Achievement at all

Your achievement could be that
Which will make others remember you

The Months

January brings the snow,
makes our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.

March brings breezes loud and shrill,
stirs the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daises at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Skipping by their fleecy damns.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
Fills the children's hand with posies.

Hot july brings cooling showers,
Apricots and gillyflowers.

August brings the sheaves of corn,
Then the harvest home is borne.

Warm september brings the fruit,
Sportsmen then begin to shoot.

Fresh October brings the pheasents,
Then to gather nuts is pleasent.

Dull November brings the blast,
Then the leaves are whirling fast.

Chill December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire, and Christmas treat.

Nothing Hurts Like Love

Broken hearts, broken dreams,
There just some things love brings
When you learn that its all the lie you cry
You find out
Nothing,
Nothing,
Nothing
Hurts like love
Nothing brings your heart so much pain
Broken hearts, broken dreams
There just some things love brings
When you learn that its all the lie you cry
You find out
Nothing,
Nothing,
Nothing
Hurts like love
Nothing brings your heart so much pain
Broken hearts, broken dreams
There just some things love brings
When you learn that its all the lie you cry
You find out
Nothing,

Hurts like love

Your Love Still Brings Me To My Knees

(cook / wood)
Your love still brings me to my knees
From day to day you feel my needs
This flame that burns
Within my heart will never die
Oh, i bless the day you came along
You turned my life into a song
There is no greater love
And there will never be
'cause you're the only one
(your love still brings me to my knees)
Still bring me to my knees
You're the one, you're the one i long to please, oh darling, ah, ha
(your love still brings me to my knees)
(your love is killing me)
Oh, i find each day i love you more
Always the one i'm waiting for
No matter where i go
No matter what i do
'cause you're the only one
(your love still brings me to my knees)
Still brings me to my knees
Ah, you're the one i long to please, oh darling, ooh, aah, ooh
(your love still brings me to my knees)
(your love is killing me)
Now i never knew
What love was all about, yeah
Then you came along
Gave me a reason to stand up and shout, oh i love you
Oh darling
Your love still brings me to my knees
From day to day you feel my needs
There is no greater love
And there will never be
'cause you're the only one
(your love still brings me to my knees)
Still brings me to my knees
(your love is killing me)
(you're the one, you're the one i long to please
Still brings me to my knees
(your love still brings me to my knees)
Yes it does, sweet baby, ooh, ah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, yeah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ooh

Hand Me Downs

Ive taken so many down
Ive helped them all to dismount
Ive followed so many down
I take their hand me downs
All with hope
All with hope
That emptiness brings fullness
And loss of love brings wholeness
All with hope
All with hope
That emptiness brings fullness
And loss of love brings wholeness
To us all
Everything that I believe
Crawls from underneath the streets
Everything I truly love
Comes from somewhere far above
Everything that I believe
Is wrong with you is wrong with me
Everything I truly love
I love in you and I love in me
So give me hope
Give me hope
That emptiness brings fullness
And loss of love brings wholeness
To us all
You swear you cant swim the river
(Ive become the beggar now)
(youve become the saint somehow)
But I saw you running to jump in
(Ive become the beggar now)
(youve become the saint somehow)
I swore Id never be your sinner
(Ive become the beggar now)
(youve become the saint somehow)
Til I held your sin
Hand me downs
Now you ask me why Im here
The same as you
Im scared - its fear
Ive become the beggar now
And youve become the saint somehow
Twist the words and place the blame
And tell me now arent we the same
Tripping in our yellow feet
Checking underneath our sheets
For some hope
Give me hope
That emptiness brings fullness
And loss of love brings wholeness

Black Market White Baby Dealer

My black market white baby dealer
Is hunting around overseas
My black market white baby dealer
Brings back clean, fresh white babies to me
Clean, fresh white babies to me
My black market white baby dealer
Is rooting around overseas
My black market white baby dealer
Kidnaps clean, fresh white babies for me
Clean, fresh white babies for me
My smile is dime a dozen
My lips are cherry red
My eyes are blue like the sky is blue
I got good shoulders under my head
I look like your mother
I look like your great-aunt
So sit me down in the family photo
And everyone tells me that i, I look just like you
My black market white baby dealer
Is hunting around overseas
My black market white baby dealer
Brings back clean, fresh white babies to me
He brings back
Oh my god, he brings back
He brings back clean, fresh, white expensive babies
He brings back
Oh charlie, he brings back
He brings back clean, fresh, white expensive babies
I come post-production
I dont need natal care
Im already fully assembled
Down to the very last part, its all there
So take me to your family
So take me to your home
Buddy, take me in as your next generation
And Ill take you out of the lost one and into mine
My black market white baby dealer
Is hunting around overseas
My black market white baby dealer
Brings back clean, fresh white babies to me

Milkshake

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you
But I have to charge
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you
But I have to charge
I know you want it
The thing that makes me
What the guys go crazy for
They lose their minds
The way I whine
I think it's time
La,La,La,La,La
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting
La,la,La,La,La
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you but I have to charge
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they're like, it's better than yours
Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you but I have to charge
I see you're on it
You want me to teach thee
Techniques that freaks these boys
It can't be bought
Just the thieves get caught
Watch if you're smart
La,La,La,La,La
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting
La,La,La,La,La,
Warm it up
La,La,La,La,La
The boys are waiting
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard

Damn right it's better than yours
I could teach you but I have to charge

The Real Meaning Of Christmas

Christmas brings lights that lighten every alley.
Christmas fills the void of each heart's saddened valley.
Christmas brings Santa with surprising gifts of toys.
Christmas brings laughter to mainly girls and boys.
Christmas brings carols sung by mellifluous voices.
Christmas brings fantasies that suit many choices.
Christmas adds glamour to the choicest street's splendour.
Christmas emits fun with its rare yuletide colour.
Christmas makes sad faces to beam with unfeigned smiles.
Christmas brings seasonal joy travelling several miles.
Christmas brings hope to the annually despondent.
Christmas brings Christ, ever in our hearts resident.

XI. Guido

You are the Cardinal Acciaiuoli, and you,
Abate Panciatichi—two good Tuscan names:
Acciaiuoli—ah, your ancestor it was
Built the huge battlemented convent-block
Over the little forky flashing Greve
That takes the quick turn at the foot o' the hill
Just as one first sees Florence: oh those days!
'T is Ema, though, the other rivulet,
The one-arched brown brick bridge yawns over,—yes,
Gallop and go five minutes, and you gain
The Roman Gate from where the Ema's bridged:
Kingfishers fly there: how I see the bend
O'erturreted by Certosa which he built,
That Senescal (we styled him) of your House!
I do adjure you, help me, Sirs! My blood
Comes from as far a source: ought it to end
This way, by leakage through their scaffold-planks
Into Rome's sink where her red refuse runs?
Sirs, I beseech you by blood-sympathy,
If there be any vile experiment
In the air,—if this your visit simply prove,
When all's done, just a well-intentioned trick,
That tries for truth truer than truth itself,
By startling up a man, ere break of day,
To tell him he must die at sunset,—pshaw!
That man's a Franceschini; feel his pulse,
Laugh at your folly, and let's all go sleep!
You have my last word,—innocent am I
As Innocent my Pope and murderer,
Innocent as a babe, as Mary's own,
As Mary's self,—I said, say and repeat,—
And why, then, should I die twelve hours hence? I—
Whom, not twelve hours ago, the gaoler bade
Turn to my straw-truss, settle and sleep sound
That I might wake the sooner, promptlier pay
His due of meat-and-drink-indulgence, cross
His palm with fee of the good-hand, beside,
As gallants use who go at large again!
For why? All honest Rome approved my part;
Whoever owned wife, sister, daughter,—nay,
Mistress,—had any shadow of any right
That looks like right, and, all the more resolved,
Held it with tooth and nail,—these manly men
Approved! I being for Rome, Rome was for me.
Then, there's the point reserved, the subterfuge
My lawyers held by, kept for last resource,
Firm should all else,—the impossible fancy!—fail,
And sneaking burgess-spirit win the day.
The knaves! One plea at least would hold,—they laughed,—
One grappling-iron scratch the bottom-rock

The Georgics

GEORGIC I

What makes the cornfield smile; beneath what star
Maecenas, it is meet to turn the sod
Or marry elm with vine; how tend the steer;
What pains for cattle-keeping, or what proof
Of patient trial serves for thrifty bees;-
Such are my themes.
O universal lights
Most glorious! ye that lead the gliding year
Along the sky, Liber and Ceres mild,
If by your bounty holpen earth once changed
Chaonian acorn for the plump wheat-ear,
And mingled with the grape, your new-found gift,
The draughts of Achelous; and ye Fauns
To rustics ever kind, come foot it, Fauns
And Dryad-maids together; your gifts I sing.
And thou, for whose delight the war-horse first
Sprang from earth's womb at thy great trident's stroke,
Neptune; and haunter of the groves, for whom
Three hundred snow-white heifers browse the brakes,
The fertile brakes of Ceos; and clothed in power,
Thy native forest and Lycean lawns,
Pan, shepherd-god, forsaking, as the love
Of thine own Maenalus constrains thee, hear
And help, O lord of Tegea! And thou, too,
Minerva, from whose hand the olive sprung;
And boy-discoverer of the curved plough;
And, bearing a young cypress root-uptorn,
Silvanus, and Gods all and Goddesses,
Who make the fields your care, both ye who nurse
The tender unsown increase, and from heaven
Shed on man's sowing the riches of your rain:
And thou, even thou, of whom we know not yet
What mansion of the skies shall hold thee soon,
Whether to watch o'er cities be thy will,
Great Caesar, and to take the earth in charge,
That so the mighty world may welcome thee
Lord of her increase, master of her times,
Binding thy mother's myrtle round thy brow,
Or as the boundless ocean's God thou come,
Sole dread of seamen, till far Thule bow
Before thee, and Tethys win thee to her son
With all her waves for dower; or as a star
Lend thy fresh beams our lagging months to cheer,
Where 'twixt the Maid and those pursuing Claws
A space is opening; see! red Scorpio's self
His arms draws in, yea, and hath left thee more
Than thy full meed of heaven: be what thou wilt-
For neither Tartarus hopes to call thee king,

Half Moon

Half moon, night time sky,
Seven stars, heaven's eyes.
Seven songs on seven seas
Just to bring all your sweet love home to me.
Hey, you fill me like the mountains,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
You fill me like the sea, lord,
Not coming past but still at last
Your love brings life to me,
Your love brings life to me, hey!
Rings of cloud and arms aflame,
Wings rise up to call your name.
Sun rolls high, lord, it burns the ground
Just to tell about the first good man i found.
Yeah, you fill me like the mountains,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
You fill me like the sea, lord,
Not coming past but still at last
Your love brings life to me,
Your love brings life to me.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh yeah!
Half moon on night time sky,
Seven stars, heaven's eyes.
Seven songs on seven seas
Just to bring all your sweet love home to me.
Hey baby, you fill me like the mountains,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
You fill me like the sea, lord,
Not coming past honey still at last
Lord, you fill me like the mountains,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
You fill me like the sea, lord,
Not coming past but still at last
Hey, you fill me like the mountains,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
You fill me like the sea, oh lord,
You're not coming past, honey, still at last
Your love brings life to me,
Your love brings life to me,
Your love... la la la la la, la
Won't you bring life to me
I said you're gonna ride around
When i'm on a little home babe,
Bring it on home, you bring it on home,
Bring it on home, bring it on home,
I said your love brings life to me, yeah.

My Lovely Lady

By: jimmy buffett
1973
When I pay my bills
Gonna leave these tennessee hills
Take my lady to the sea
Thats where we both come from
Thats where we both belong
Think Ill go back to the keys
Chorus:
cause I dont want the fame that brings confusion
Where people recognize you on a plane
All I wants the quiet and the comforts
That livin with my lovely lady brings
Somehow we survived the double talk and jive
Things are looking better all the time
I owe her all I can cause she made me understand
The simple way that we should live our lives
Chorus:
And I dont want the fame that brings confusion
Where people recognize you on a plane
All I wants the quiet and the comforts
That livin with my lovely lady brings
Let me tell you now she can eat her own weight up in crab meat
And theres plenty of that down there by the sea
Well were sailin in those warm december breezes
Sendin picture postcards back to tennessee
Chorus:
Yes and I dont want the fame that brings confusion
Where people recognize you on a plane
All I wants the quiet and the comforts
That livin with my lovely lady brings
Yeah that livin with my lovely lady brings

Smiles the choice of rose hips hue

Who brings me the tears of rainbows blue?
And smiles the choice of rose hips hue
that brings to me the moons gentle dew?
With kisses soft; as slender new.

Who brings me the laughter of bluebells white?
And dances those greens; like a garden sprite.
That brings to me the azure mornings light?
Like a thistledown angel; lost in flight.

Who brings me a meadows flowing flaxen hair!
And whispering words spellbinding without a care
that brings too me a same sense of wonders rare?
Like woodland lilies under a leaf mould layer.

Who brings me the moons gentle dew..?
With kisses soft; as slender new..?
With smiles the choice of rose hips-hue.
Why; yes, my child it’s you!

Striving For Suffering

It is not achievements or goals or trophies
Or accolades or awards or the end itself
For which we strive, we as humans think that
Is what we desire, but
What we really seek is adversity and suffering
We all desperately long for it

Yo may at first think it strange or untrue
But in fact it is what we all yearn for, even you
Simply getting a trophy or award means nothing
IT is the work, the blood, sweat, and tears
That we all really desire, it's that something
There's a voice inside everyone hears
Pushing them to do more, to achievement,
but that achievement is wrought in suffering
Empowered by the pain and time, as if heaven-sent
It is only in the trial that we can have triumph
Only in adversity we can make the jump
From mundane normalcy to achievement, thus it is
Truly the pain itself that separates normalcy
From triumph it is not the trophy or the end
But the means that got you there.

A real term

It is difficult to term a man as hero
In real sense he may be worthless or zero
His achievement might have come at crucial stage
This couldn’t have been performed by any person of his age

In the entire life any individual may tend to slack?
He may have ill fames and many draw backs
At crucial time he may perform unbelievable feat
This may earn him good name or generate lots of heat

On many counts the person is remembered and worshipped
His mortals are preserved abroad and trans-hipped
He has done enough for the people or country
He was prepared to lay down his life and stood as sentry

He is so tall in public eye and may remain so forever
His absence may be felt and loss can’t be compensated however
Still the homage is paid by all the countrymen on his departure
The country was saved from disaster and he secured the future

Such is the excellent work that speaks of great volume
We can remember his great name and only assume
The country may leap forward with the normal work to resume
The sacrifice may not go in vain and spread the fragrance as perfume

The soldiers are pushed in the time of war
They have to make penetration very far
It required great courage and determination
They are rewarded with medals and citations

There are many ways of paying the tribute
People at large may come out and contribute
It may be great respect and homage
The history will be re-written on the page

Any achievement by the individual can’t turn him into hero
It is laying down of life for better tomorrow
This is no ordinary feat or routine affair
It must be treated with due respect and honor

It is not only the war zones where they show the bravery
But strong movement by crusaders to save us from slavery
It has slow pace and may prove its worth in tie to come
The fruit of it may come later for us to welcome

In natural calamities the civilians are pressed into service
They perform the marvelous feat even without any advice
It is not less than any heroic achievement
It is then considered as human movement

Prince Hohenstiel-Schwangau, Saviour of Society

Epigraph

I slew the Hydra, and from labour pass'd
To labour — tribes of labours! Till, at last,
Attempting one more labour, in a trice,
Alack, with ills I crowned the edifice.

You have seen better days, dear? So have I —
And worse too, for they brought no such bud-mouth
As yours to lisp "You wish you knew me!" Well,
Wise men, 't is said, have sometimes wished the same,
And wished and had their trouble for their pains.
Suppose my Œdipus should lurk at last
Under a pork-pie hat and crinoline,
And, latish, pounce on Sphynx in Leicester Square?
Or likelier, what if Sphynx in wise old age,
Grown sick of snapping foolish people's heads,
And jealous for her riddle's proper rede, —
Jealous that the good trick which served the turn
Have justice rendered it, nor class one day
With friend Home's stilts and tongs and medium-ware,—
What if the once redoubted Sphynx, I say,
(Because night draws on, and the sands increase,
And desert-whispers grow a prophecy)
Tell all to Corinth of her own accord.
Bright Corinth, not dull Thebes, for Lais' sake,
Who finds me hardly grey, and likes my nose,
And thinks a man of sixty at the prime?
Good! It shall be! Revealment of myself!
But listen, for we must co-operate;
I don't drink tea: permit me the cigar!
First, how to make the matter plain, of course —
What was the law by which I lived. Let 's see:
Ay, we must take one instant of my life
Spent sitting by your side in this neat room:
Watch well the way I use it, and don't laugh!
Here's paper on the table, pen and ink:
Give me the soiled bit — not the pretty rose!
See! having sat an hour, I'm rested now,
Therefore want work: and spy no better work
For eye and hand and mind that guides them both,
During this instant, than to draw my pen
From blot One — thus — up, up to blot Two — thus —
Which I at last reach, thus, and here's my line
Five inches long and tolerably straight:

Not From This Anger

Not from this anger, anticlimax after
Refusal struck her loin and the lame flower
Bent like a beast to lap the singular floods
In a land strapped by hunger
Shall she receive a bellyful of weeds
And bear those tendril hands I touch across
The agonized, two seas.
Behind my head a square of sky sags over
The circular smile tossed from lover to lover
And the golden ball spins out of the skies;
Not from this anger after
Refusal struck like a bell under water
Shall her smile breed that mouth, behind the mirror,
That burns along my eyes.
