I came to the conclusion that the very best thing for Rosie, from the time she was 2 weeks old, was for us to get married.

Rosie

(sambora, j bon jovi, child, warren)
Rosie watch doin in this low class joint
Dancin in the dark all day
You used to be the darlin
Of your high school scene
Now you put your love on display
Sweaty hands hand you up a dollar bill
Hungry eyes never seem to get their fill
I used to watch you walkin down the hall
Rosie do you see me
When you hear them call your name
Rosie, rosie I wanna take you away
Rosie, rosie Im gonna make you mine someday
Rosie, I went with you for that rose tattoo
You promised no one else would see
I used to wait and drive you home from dancin school
Remember when you danced just for me
Our love was deeper then the night was long
But things just didnt work out like our favorite song
I used to watch you walkin down the hall
Rosie do you see me
When you hear them call your name
Rosie, rosie I wanna take you away
Rosie, rosie Im gonna make you mine someday
Do you remember
Our love was deeper then the night was long
But things just didnt work out like our favorite song
I used to watch you walkin down the hall
Rosie do you see me
When you hear them call your name
Rosie, rosie I wanna take you away
Rosie, rosie Im gonna make you mine someday
Rosie, rosie I wanna take you away

Nothing Compares 2 U

Lead voice by prince & rosie gaines
Prince: its been 7 hours and 13 days
Since u took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since u took your love away
Rosie: since youve been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see who ever I choose
Eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant, oh yeah
But nothing, nothing can take away these blues
P & r: nothing compares, nothing compares 2 u
Rosie: oh baby
Prince: its been so lonely without u here
Im like a bird without a song
Nothing can stop this lonely rain from falling
Tell me baby, where did I go wrong?
Rosie: oh baby
I can put my arms around every boy I see, oh yeah
But they only remind me of u
Prince: all my dames remind me of u too girl, oh yeah
Rosie: I went 2 the doctor, guess what he told me
Prince: whatd he tell u?
Rosie: guess what he told me
Prince: Im listening
Rosie: he said, rosie,
Prince: what?
Rosie: try to have fun no matter what u do
Prince: u wanna tell me why?
Rosie: hes a fool
P & r: nothing compares (no), nothing compares 2 u
Rosie: ooh, baby
Prince: tenor man, play it for me
Prince: all the flowers that u planted, sugar
In the backyard all died when u went away
Rosie: ooh baby, I know that living with me baby
Is sometimes hard, sometimes hard
But Im willing, Im willing 2 give it one more try
Prince: one more try
Rosie: please do you know why, do you know why
P & r: nothing compares (no), nothing compares 2 u
Rosie: oh, baby
Prince: everytime I say...
P & r: nothing compares (no), nothing compares 2 u
Prince: rosie gaines

Rosie Won't You Please Come Home

Rosie wont you please come home?
Mama dont know where youve been.
Rosie wont you please come home?
Your rooms clean and no ones in it.
Oh my rosie, how I miss you,
You are all the world to me.
Take a look and see if you like it,
If you like it please come back.
Rosie wont you please come home?
Since youve joined the upper classes,
You dont know us anymore.
Live and let your troubles pass.
Rosie, rosie, will you write and tell me,
If you dont want to come back?
I would sacrifice all I have
To have a happy home once more.
Rosie wont you please come home?
Two long years have passed away.
Since you tried to change your life,
Christmas wasnt quite the same.
Rosie, rosie, got any answers?
You are miles across the sea,
And Ill bake a cake if you tell me
You are on the first plane home.
Rosie wont you please come home?
Mama dont know where youve been.
Rosie wont you please come home?
Your rooms clean and no ones in it.
Oh my rosie, how I miss you,
You are all the world to me.
Take a look and see if you like it,
If you like it please come back.
Oh rosie, will you please come back?

VII. Pompilia

I am just seventeen years and five months old,
And, if I lived one day more, three full weeks;
'T is writ so in the church's register,
Lorenzo in Lucina, all my names
At length, so many names for one poor child,
—Francesca Camilla Vittoria Angela
Pompilia Comparini,—laughable!
Also 't is writ that I was married there
Four years ago: and they will add, I hope,
When they insert my death, a word or two,—
Omitting all about the mode of death,—
This, in its place, this which one cares to know,
That I had been a mother of a son
Exactly two weeks. It will be through grace
O' the Curate, not through any claim I have;
Because the boy was born at, so baptized
Close to, the Villa, in the proper church:
A pretty church, I say no word against,
Yet stranger-like,—while this Lorenzo seems
My own particular place, I always say.
I used to wonder, when I stood scarce high
As the bed here, what the marble lion meant,
With half his body rushing from the wall,
Eating the figure of a prostrate man—
(To the right, it is, of entry by the door)
An ominous sign to one baptized like me,
Married, and to be buried there, I hope.
And they should add, to have my life complete,
He is a boy and Gaetan by name—
Gaetano, for a reason,—if the friar
Don Celestine will ask this grace for me
Of Curate Ottoboni: he it was
Baptized me: he remembers my whole life
As I do his grey hair.

All these few things
I know are true,—will you remember them?
Because time flies. The surgeon cared for me,
To count my wounds,—twenty-two dagger-wounds,
Five deadly, but I do not suffer much—
Or too much pain,—and am to die to-night.

Oh how good God is that my babe was born,
—Better than born, baptized and hid away
Before this happened, safe from being hurt!
That had been sin God could not well forgive:
He was too young to smile and save himself.
When they took two days after he was born,
My babe away from me to be baptized
And hidden awhile, for fear his foe should find,—

Erase

From Bye Bye Birdie soundtrack
JA:
I was never crazy for flowers
I confess that nothing left me colder.
I could watch a daisy for hours
and all i'd feel was several hours older.
Lilacs or lilies,
anything you please
all that they did was make me shrug or sneeze.
But now i love each blossom that i see
for a lovely little rose loves me.
Now my life is Rosie,
since i found my Rosie.
With a girl like rosie
how could i be blue?
Hand in hand we'll mosey
Me and little Rosie.
We will be so cozy
by a fire built for two.
Oh i once heard a poem that goes
A rose is a rose is a rose.
But i don't agree
Take it from me,
There's one rose sweeter than any that grows
That's my Rosie.
I'm so glad you chose me.
Life is one, sweet, beautiful song
to me.
JA: Now my life is Rosie
VW: Oh, we'll be happy I know.
JA: Since I found my Rosie.
VW: Off to the preacher we'll go.
JA: With a girl like ROsie
VW: So how could we
JA: How could I be blue?
VW: Be blue?
VW: Oh we'll have us a home out west.
A nice, little split, level nest.
And in every room, roses in bloom
JA: but there's one Rose sweeter than all of the rest.
JA: And that's my Rosie
Both:
I'm so glad you chose me.
Life is one, sweet, beautiful song.
If love is right, then, what could be wrong?
Life is one, sweet, beautiful song to me.

8 Weeks

8 weeks to live
8 weeks to die
8 weeks is all they had
8 weeks to do the things they never did
8 weeks of fighting
8 weeks of trying to fit everything in
8 weeks of pain, suffering, and confusion
8 weeks of faking a smile
8 weeks of repetition
8 weeks of knowing they were nearing the end
8 weeks of love from friends and family
8 weeksthe shortest/longest, most hurtful/helpful weeks of their lives
8 weeks later…knowing they’ll never be able to do the things they’ve always wanted to
8 weeks later…now realizing he’ll never see her walk, at graduation nor down the aisle
8 weeks later…close friends and family now in shambles
8 weeks later…close friends and family never closer
8 weeks later…here we are

Down River

(ackles)
Good to see you again, rosie
I know Ive changed a lot since then
Youre lookin fine, babe
Three years that aint long, rosie
I still remember our song
When you were mine, babe
Times change, times change I know
But it sure moves slow
Down river when youre locked away
Hey why didnt you write, rosie
I stayed awake most every night
Countin my time babe
Oh no I aint mad rosie
I know you had to mind your dad
But just a line babe
Oh sure I remember then
We went off to school
Aint that right
Well he aint no fool
Hes a good man rosie
Hold him tight as you can
Dont ask me why babe
Yeah nice seein you again rosie
Me I got things to do
Well good-bye babe
Chorus
Chorus
Rosie down river
Down river when youre locked away
Rosie Im losing

Rosie O’Donald Turns into a Giant

Rosie O’Donald showed up in my dream,
It was on Krendoll island where things are surreal.
Krendoll huts are quiet for all dolls are asleep,
Then a loud thud sounds from the Feronian trees.
A big tree falls down, crashing to the ground.
For there is a something walking real big all around,

It’s Rosie O’Donald who is a giant walking a foot,
She ate one of the Razelberries of Razel that Rosie did uproot.
See Razel knew that Rosie would show up one night,
So Razel planted her Razelberrie and hid it out of site.
She knew since Rosie was a human from Earth,
She would eat anything she saw small in the dirt.

Rosie kept walking and bounced into a pillow real grand,
It was a Pillow mountain is where Rosie did land.
Now luckily the Krendoll dolls did not awake,
They would be really scared, make no mistake.
Now this is the end of my dream where Rosie does survive,
Survive a Big Pillow Mountain that actually comes alive.

Rosalita

Rosalita (come out tonight)
Spread out now rosie doctor come cut loose her mama's reins
You know playin' blind man's bluff is a little baby's game
You pick up little dynamite i'm gonna pick up little gun
And together we're gonna go out tonight and make that highway run
You don't have to call me lieutenant rosie and i don't want to be your son
The only lover i'm ever gonna need's your soft sweet little girl's tongue and rosie you're the one
Dynamite's in the belfry playin' with the bats
Little gun's downtown in front of woolworth's tryin' out his attitude on all the cats
Papa's on the corner waitin' for the bus
Mama she's home in the window waitin' up for us
She'll be there in that chair when they wrestle her upstairs 'cause you know
We ain't gonna come
I ain't here for business, i'm only here for fun
Rosalita jump a little lighter, senorita come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover ain't no liar, rosalita you're my stone desire
Jack the rabbit and weak knees willie you know they're gonna be there
Ah sloppy sue and big bones billie they'll be comin' up for air
We're gonna play some pool skip some school act real cool stay out all night it's gonna feel alright
Rosie come out tonight, rosie come out tonight
Windows are for cheaters chimneys for the poor
Closets are for hangers winners use the door
Rosalita jump a little...
Now i know your mama she don't like me 'cause i play in a rock and roll band
And i know your daddy he don't dig me but he never did understand
Papa lowered the boom he locked you in your room
I'm comin' to lend a hand
I'm comin' to liberate you confiscate you i want to be your man
Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny
But now you're sad your mama's mad
And your papa says he knows that i don't have any money
Tell him this is last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance
Because a record company rosie just gave me big bucks
My tires were slashed and i almost crashed but the lord had mercy
My machine she's a dud out stuck in the mud somewhere in the swamps of jersey
Hold on tight stay up all night 'cause rosie i'm comin' on strong
By the time we meet the morning light i will hold you in my arms
I know a pretty little place in southern california down san diego way
There's a little cafe where they play guitars all night and day
You can hear them in the back room strummin'
So hold tight baby 'cause don't you know daddy's comin'
Rosalita jump a little...

Fair Rosamond

You've heard of King Henry II
And the story of how he got fond
Of one of his customer's daughters,
A lass called the " Fair Rosamond."

'Twere a lovely romance while it lasted,
The course of true love ran serene,
Till some nosey-parkering varlet
Started carrying tales to the Queen.

The Queen were at first incred-u-lous.
She said "What a tale to invent!"
The King would not stoop to such baseness
At any rate, not during Lent."

But one morning she picked up a doublet
As he'd dropped on his bedroom settee;
It had three golden hairs on the shoulder
And a strong smell of 'Soir de Paree."

She went to the King in a passion
And showed him this evidence clear,
And swore by her distaff and wimple
That she weren't having none of that theer.

She said " If I catch that young woman,
She'll leave no more hairs on your coat-
Her trying to pinch other folks' monarchs-
I'll give her a swim in the moat.

So he took Rosie off to the country,
To an old-fashioned manor of his,
With an "'ampton Court Maze "in the garden
As he kept for occasions like this.

But the Queen wasn't fooled for a moment,
She knew all about Henry's ways;
She slipped off herself the next morning
And secretly watched that there maze.

She were hiding in t 'macaracapa
When Rosie came out for the milk,
And she fixed to her dress as she passed her
The end of a bobbin of silk.

Poor Rosie went back not suspecting
The trail she were leaving behind,
And the Queen slowly followed her gloating
At what she expected to find.

Duck an' Fowl

Now, when a bloke 'e cracks a bloke fer insults to a skirt,
An' wrecks a joint to square a lady's name,
They used to call it chivalry, but now they calls it dirt,
An' the end of it is cops an' quod an' shame.
Fer insults to fair Gwendoline they 'ad to be wiped out;
But Rosie's sort is jist fair game-when Ginger ain't about.

It was Jimmie Ah Foo's cook-shop, which is close be Spadger's Lane,
Where a variegated comp'ny tears the scran,
An' there's some is 'tup'ny coloured,' an' some is 'penny plain,'
Frum a lawyer to a common lumper-man.
Or a writer fer the papers, or a slaver on the prowl,
An' noiseless Chows a-glidin' 'round wiv plates uv duck an' fowl.

But if yeh wanted juicy bits that 'ung around Foo's perch
Yeh fetched 'em down an' wolfed 'em in yer place.
An' Foo sat sad an' solim, like an 'oly man in church,
Wiv an early-martyr look upon 'is face;
Wot never changed, not even when a toff upon a jag
Tried to pick up Ginger's Rosie, an' collided wiv a snag.

Ginger Mick's bin at the races, an' 'e'd made a little rise,
'Avin' knowed a bloke wot knowed the trainer's cook.
An' easy money's very sweet, as punters reckernise,
An' sweetest when yeh've prized it orf a 'book.'
So Ginger calls fer Rosic, an' to celerbrate 'is win
'E trots 'er down to Ah Foo's joint to splash a bit uv tin.

There wus lights, an' smells of Asia, an' a strange, Chow-'aunted scene;
Floatin' scraps of forrin lingo 'it the car;
But Rose sails in an' takes 'er scat like any soshul queen
Sich as stokes 'erself wiv foy grass orl the year.
'Duck an' Fowl' 's 'er nomination; so ole Ginger jerks 'is frame
'Cross to git some fancy pickin's, an' to give 'is choice a name.

While Ginger paws the tucker, an' 'as words about the price,
There's a shickered toff slings Rosie goo-goo eyes.
'E's a mug 'oo thinks 'e's 'it a flamin' 'all uv scarlet vice
An' 'e picks on gentle Rosie fer a prize.
Then 'e tries to play at 'andies, an' arrange about a meet;
But Rosie fetches 'im a welt that shifts 'im in 'is seat.

Ginger's busy makin' bargins, an' 'e never seen the clout;
'E is 'agglin' wiv Ah Foo fer 'arf a duck;
But the toff's too shick or silly fer to 'cave 'is carkis out,
An' to fade while goin's good an' 'e's in luck.
Then Ginger clinched 'is bargin, an', as down the room 'e came,
'E seen the toff jump fritm 'is seat, an' call the girl a name.

That done it. Less than larf a mo, an' 'ell got orf the chain;

Frightening Conclusion

In a pickle sizzling because of recent risks.
And unable to face or come to grips with it,
For fear of other unsuspecting hits.
Can be a frightening conclusion,
For the one who pitches a fit.
This can be frightening to someone,
Unprepared for it even a little bit.

The one who smiles on the outside,
May hide inside their moping.
As they do their best to cope.
To make each day for them okay.

The one who smiles on the outside,
May hide inside their moping.
As they do their best,
Not to confess trials they face...
On a daily basis.

This is a frightening conclusion,
For someone unprepared for this!
This can be frightening for anyone,
In a pickle sizzling because of recent risks.

SCENE-the same scene as in Act I with the exception that in place
of the ruins that filled the foreground of the stage, the
interior of a magnificent temple is seen showing the background
of the scene of Act I, through the columns of the portico at the
back. High throne. L.U.E. Low seats below it. All the substitute

So please to pass Olympian rosy,

And find them much more snug and cosy.

Virginia's Story

Elizabeth Gates-Wooten is my Grand mom.

She was born in Canada with her father and brothers.
They owned a Barber Shoppe.
I don't remember exactly where in Canada.
I believe it was right over the border like Windsor or Toronto.
I never knew exactly where it was.

When she was old enough she got married.

First, she married a man by the name of Frank Gates.
He was from Madagascar.
He fathered my mom and her brother and sister.
The boy's name was Frank Gates, Jr.
Two girls name were Anna and Agnes.

Agnes was my mother.

Frank Gates went crazy after the war
He drank a lot and died
Then grandma Elizabeth married a man by the name of Mr. Wooten.
He had a German name, but I don't think he was German.
She took his last name after they got married.

Then they moved to West Virginia in the United States.

Their son, Frank Gates Jr. Became a delegate in the democratic party.
He use to get into a lot of trouble because he liked to fight.
He was a delegate from the 1940's to 1970's.
He died of gout in the 1970's.

Anna was a maid and cook.

She baked cakes and stuff for people as a side line.
She had a hump on her back (scoliosis) .
She had to walk with a cane.
She could cook good though.
She did this kind of work all of her life, just like her mom, Elizabeth

They were both good cooks

They had a lot of money because they had these skills
Especially when people had parties.
Because they would make all of this food and then they would have left-overs.
We got to eat a lot of stuff we normally wouldn't get because of that.
When they cooked, they didn't use no measuring stuff, they would just use there hand.

My moms name was Agnes Barrie Gates.

She married James Wright and moved to Cleveland.

Physical

Rosie - we're talkin' to women over 35.
Olivia - you do a self-examination.
Rosie - we got another thing to keep you alive, give your boobs a squeeze!
Olivia - a mammogram makes sure that you have healthy breasts.
Rosie - no different than a cold waffle iron...
Olivia - reminds me of having my blue jeans pressed.
Rosie - so make your move and please.
Together - get a physical, physical, call and get a physical. schedule a physical
Get yourself a mammogram, you'll thank us ma'am. get yourself a mammogram.
Olivia - you can do it 'cause your strong. it only hurts for 5 seconds.
Rosie - uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh... whether they're tiny, big, or long, you know what they need.
Olivia - if you feel a marble, a pea, or a flaw, don't be shy just get it checked.
Rosie - be a trend setter, just whip off your bra! start a health stampede!
Together - get a physical, physical! it's time for your physical. don't say
You're to busyical. get yourself a mammogram, thank you ma'am. get yourself

Rosie

She was standing at the load-in
When the trucks rolled up
She was sniffing all around
Like a half grown female pup
She wasnt hard to talk to
Looked like she had nowhere to go
So I gave her my pass
So she could get in and see the show
Well I sat her down right next to me
And I got her a beer
While I mixed that sound on stage
So the band could hear
The more I watched her watch them play
The less I could think of to say
And when they walked off stage
The drummer swept that girl away
But rosie youre all right -- you wear my ring
When you hold me tight -- rosie thats my thing
When you turn out the light -- Ive got to hand it to me
Looks like its me and you again tonight rosie
Well I guess I might have known from the start
Shed come for a star
Might have told my imagination not to run too far
Of all the times that Ive been burned
By now youd think Id have learned
That its who you look like
Not who you are
But rosie youre all right -- you wear my ring
When you hold me tight -- rosie thats my thing
When you turn out the light -- Ive got to hand it to me
Looks like its me and you again tonight rosie

Rosie Had Everything Planned

Acting upon information received
Rosie had everything planned
Stood in a garden with a shotgun in hand
What a woman
Whilst entertaining the headlines next day
Rosie would not be released
If it was found that her man was deceased
Silly woman
Oh but Rosie, a girl with a strange kind of humor
Stupidly took it a roomer
Making her think that she'd lost
Double-crossed by a man who still
Stood in the garden and shaking her head
Rosie could not understand
Wiping her eyes with the back of her hand
Sad, sad woman
Oh but Rosie, how could a few words have made her
Certain that he had betrayed her
Making her think that she'd lost
Double-crossed by a man who still very near to her
Row upon row of angel-hair
Rosie had everything planned
Sure that the people would not understand
Sad, sad woman

First trip to the pool for Rosie

Two tiny tots
Named Rosie and jack
Raced to the revolving doors
With sports bags on their back

The were so exited
'Bout a morning at the pool
Jack had been just twice before
But Rosie, not at all.

They manoeuvred obligingly
To climb into their suits
Then as their mums locked up their stuff
The two were in cahoots

In between plans
About what, we'll never know
They made their way to pool side
Mums cried 'steady as you go'

Jack asked his friend
'Rosie, can you swim? '
She said 'Don't know, I've never tried.
I'll see when I get in'

'I can'
he boasted.
But really he could not
His goggles made his ears stick out
As in the pool he got.

Rosie followed after
The water wasn't cold
She seemed not to be anxious
And the side she didn't hold

Jack splashed his arms
Yet his feet stayed on the bottom
Rosie shouted 'swim then jack!
.. Or have you forgotten? '

Jack got cross
His arms just flapped and flailed
He tried to lift his feet again
But hopelessly he failed

Rosie pondered quietly
The cogs in her head spinning
And then with out a warning
She had a go a swimming

Married Men

(bugatti - musker)
Producers for bonnie: ronnie scott, steve wolfe
Bonnie recorded this song in 1979 for the film the world is full of married men. the lyrics are taken from the japanese single.
The world is full of married men
With wives who never understand
Theyre looking for someone to share
The excitement of a love affair
Just as soon as they find you
They wine you and dine you
You fly on the wings of romance
But in the eyes of the world
Youre just another crazy girl
Who loves a married man
Oh your love is a secret
And youve got to keep it
As long as you can
No dont cry for your lover
Theres always another married man
The world is full of married men
Oh yeah you make him feel so young
But his wife will still be number one
He promises to marry you
Just as soon as his divorce
Comes through
And its not just a fling
He swears its the real thing
A love that could last till the end
As hes driving away
You know its true what they say
About married men
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it again and again
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it, married men
Oh hell run when the scandal
Gets too hot to handle
Hell say I just want to be friends
They hell walk out of your life
Hell go home to his wife
cause hes a married man
Oh your love is a secret
And youve got to keep it
As long as you can
No dont cry for your lover
Theres always another married man
The world is full of married men
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it again and again
They do it, they do it, they do it
They do it, married men

A Hungry Day

I MIND him well, he was a quare ould chap,
Come like meself from swate ould Erin's sod;
He hired me wanst to help his harvest in-
The crops was fine that summer, praised be God!

He found us, Rosie, Mickie, an' meself,
Just landed in the emigration shed;
Meself was tyin' on their bits of clothes;
Their mother-rest her tender sowl!-was dead.

It's not meself can say of what she died:
But 'twas the year the praties felt the rain,
An' rotted in the soil; an' just to dhraw
The breath of life was one long hungry pain.

If we wor haythens in a furrin land,
Not in a country grand in Christian pride,
Faith, then a man might have the face to say
'Twas of stharvation me poor Sheila died.

But whin the parish docthor come at last,
Whin death was like a sun-burst in her eyes-
They looked straight into Heaven-an' her ears
Wor deaf to the poor children's hungry cries,

He touched the bones stretched on the mouldy sthraw:
'She's gone!' he says, and drew a solemn frown;
'I fear, my man, she's dead.' 'Of what?' says I.
He coughed, and says, 'She's let her system down!'

'An' that's God's truth!' says I, an' felt about
To touch her dawney hand, for all looked dark;
An' in me hunger-bleached, shmall-beatin' heart,
I felt the kindlin' of a burnin'spark.

'O by me sowl, that is the holy truth!
There's Rosie's cheek has kept a dimple still,
An' Mickie's eyes are bright-the craythur there
Died that the weeny ones might eat their fill.'

An' whin they spread the daisies thick an' white
Above her head that wanst lay on me breast,
I had no tears, but took the childher's hands,
An' says, 'We'll lave the mother to her rest.'

An' och! the sod was green that summer's day,
An' rainbows crossed the low hills, blue an' fair;
But black an' foul the blighted furrows stretched,
An' sent their cruel poison through the air.
