The women's rights movement of the 1970s had not yet emerged; except for Bella Abzug, I had no women supporters.

Exodus (Laswell Mix)

[Bob Marley]
Exodus: Movement of Jah people! Oh-oh-oh, yea-eah!
.......
Men and people will fight ya down (Tell me why!)
When ya see Jah light. (Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!)
Let me tell you if you're not wrong; (Then, why?)
Everything is all right.
So we gonna walk - all right! - through de roads of creation:
We the generation (Tell me why!)
(Trod through great tribulation) trod through great tribulation.
Exodus, all right! Movement of Jah people!
Oh, yeah! O-oo, yeah! All right!
Exodus: Movement of Jah people! Oh, yeah!
Yeah-yeah-yeah, well!
Uh! Open your eyes and look within:
Are you satisfied (with the life you're living)? Uh!
We know where we're going, uh!
We know where we're from.
We're leaving Babylon,
We're going to our Father land.
2, 3, 4: Exodus: movement of Jah people! Oh, yeah!
(Movement of Jah people!) Send us another brother Moses!
(Movement of Jah people!) From across the Red Sea!
(Movement of Jah people!) Send us another brother Moses!
(Movement of Jah people!) From across the Red Sea!
Movement of Jah people!
---
/Instrumental break/

Exodus, all right! Oo-oo-ooh! Oo-ooh!
Movement of Jah people! Oh, yeah!
Exodus!
Exodus! All right!
Exodus! Now, now, now, now!
Exodus!
Exodus! Oh, yea-ea-ea-ea-ea-ea-eah!
Exodus!
Exodus! All right!
Exodus! Uh-uh-uh-uh!
Move! Move! Move! Move! Move! Move!
Open your eyes and look within:
Are you satisfied with the life you're living?
We know where we're going;
We know where we're from.
We're leaving Babylon, y'all!
We're going to our Father's land.

Bellas Birthday Cake

Bellas birthday cake
Bella played the bridge every second loneliest night of the year
Took a certain liking to a fellow there - bella
She said I brought her back to some old better man - fellah
Bella she was born today feeling kinda spry
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Like lightning, like fire
Bellas birthday cake was burning...
Bella made her bed in red every loneliest night of the year
Tied me to the rages of her rocking chair - bella
Fed me quiet offer through her ever wares - Ill tell ya
Bella she was born today feeling kinda spry
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Like lightning, like fire
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Ever yearning forest fire
And all of her lines she left unread
Spirits and battles won, she said
And over her mountian tops she ground me off
Where...i cant remember...
Bella played the bridge on the second loneliest night of the year
Bella she was born today...
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Bellas birthday cake was burning
Bellas birthday cake was burning...50 years gone.

Twilight the poem

A narrative poem about the book Twilight

Mountains of rain pouring down.
Slapping hard against the ground.
To one girl named Bella swan.
The rain and thunder were oh so wrong.
She moved from Pheonix a place with sun.
Filled with laughter and so much fun.
To a place with rain and cloud filled skies.
A horrible sight for her tear filled eyes.
In a small town was not much to see.
School was the for her place to be.
At lunch she saw a beautiful face.
Of a small girl with godlike grace.
Her name was alice she was told.
Her eyes where the coulor of fine spun gold.
At Alice's table four other sat.
Who dissapeared just like that.
But before they left Bella was shown.
A beauty that is seldom known.
At biology she say beside.
A boy with coal black eyes.
She felt a shock of pure desire.
From this boy with hair like fire.
She heared his name was Edward Cullen.
Who's family showed up all of a sudden.
His family is like gypsys in a way.
Coming and going when they may.
All the boys are big and strong.
But something seems alittle wrong.
The girls are more beautiful then anyother.
They could easily land a magazine cover.
But they dont look like they care.
They dont notice that anyones there.
Bella who never saw such beauty and grace.
Was mystified by Edwards face.
But to her surprise and dismay.
Edward didnt show up for five whole days.
She thought he was gone and would never come back.
She felt as if all the coulors had become white and black.
Like an old time movie with no blue sky.
And at this thought tears filled her eyes.
But he did come back but something was weird.
He wasnt as pale and he seemed full of cheer.
Bella saw a change in his eyes.
They seemed lighter than last time.
She asked him this but he replied no.
The conversation had ended before hello.
So many people liked Bella swan.
And they all wanted to take her to the prom.

Bella

Ella dio
Un paso atras
Un adios
Y no queda mas
Me dejo la soledad
A pleno sol
En pleno mar
Bella, bella el amanecer
(Solo para mi)
Bella, belleza de mujer
Ella todo me lo dio
Desde alma hasta la piel,
Fue mi verso a mi papel
Fue mi amiga y fue mi amor
Conocia mi interior
Como bola de cristal
Me alejo de todo mal,
Me dio lo mejor
Mirame
Por favor
Aqui estoy
Con mi dolor
Si la ves
Alguna vez
Dile que yo
La sigo amando
Bella, bella el amanecer
(Aqui estoy tan mal, tan solo)
Bella, belleza de mujer
Ella todo me lo dio
Desde alma hasta la piel,
Fue mi verso a mi papel
Fue mi amiga y fue mi amor
Conocia mi interior
Como bola de cristal
Me alejo de todo mal,
Me dio lo mejor

Bus Driver and Bella

Bella used to catch the bus from church gate;
Everyday took same bus which was never late.
Not to miss Bella, driver always reached in time;
Reaching office daily in time, Bella also felt fine.

On seeing her, the driver opened the front door,
She stepped forward smilingly and used to board.
He started feeling joy in heart, never felt before
Cherished in his soul, towards her he was lured.

Whenever not seen her, the driver became sad,
Moved slowly with grave soul feeling the day bad.
Suddenly she stopped coming but he held his time
Reaching the bus stop chanting her names’ rhyme.

When the bus was about to reach that bus stop,
The driver used to see all around but Bella was not.
After a long, Bella was seen standing near the stop
Driver delighted and thought for few words swop.

Driver at once opened front door, asked her to rush.
She too thrown sight and smiled; turned towards bus.
To surprise Bella kept outside and looking at him told
That she had got a car standing near that billboard.

She was waiting for her husband who was nearby,
She wanted perfume for car, he had gone to buy.
They got married a month ago, she was on vacation
Driver put his foot to give bus maximum acceleration.

Women

Women behind bars, women in fast cars, women in distress, women with no dress
Women in airplanes, women who play games
Women in uniform, see that woman with her clothes gone
Women who satisfy, women you cant buy
Like women in magazines, and women in a limousine
Women who sip champagne, women who feel no pain
Women in a disco, and women who dont wanna know, no no
Oh, women wanting sympathy, women feeling extacy
Women who live in fantasies, bringing man to his knees
Women who boil to love, women who need a shove
Women who cant be beat, get that woman in the back seat, yeah yeah
Women in the usa, those women steal your heart away
Women into rock n roll, women who steal the show, go go go
Women that you write songs about, women that turn around and kick you out
Women you dream about all your life
Women that stab you in the back with a switchblade knife
Oh women, oohoo, talking bout women, all round the world
Yeah women, all the naughty girls, talking bout women, come on baby

Dont You Think It's Time?

children have rights,
women have rights.
lovers have rights.
people of all religions,
and even atheists have rights.
people of all colors,
speaking every language have rights.
trees and rivers have rights.
cats and dogs have rights.
cattle have rights,
homeless people have rights.
prisoners have rights.
democrats and republicans have rights,
even socialists have rights.
the jobless have rights,
old people have rights...
and the hungry have
the right to be fed!

damnit! dont you think it's time?

Women IV. a prise poem for women

Life without life it's not life
Almost every one will remember
Day and night is cycle of life
Life on its own is not matured
I reiterate well spoken words
Hence its admiral, the day i recognize the significant role of women

Some women can bless the day indeed
with their smiles
with their Assimilate of culture admiral
with high concentration of moral fiber

These are the women of integrity
I talk nothing else but
Women like Nthabiseng Mthethwa
Women like Mapaseka Dlamini
Women like Sebolelo Mokoena
Women like Elsie Moganedi
Look around they are there
To reconstitute norms and Values.

I call them women of integrity

As Harley barley, there are honorable women
Full of high concentration of moral fiber
They adhere to walk the walks
And talk the talks; they are extraordinary in every aspect
Women like Delsile Hlophe
Women like Nonhlanhla Ndlovu
Women like Ellah Ngomane
Women like Whitey Mahlangu
Chronically they remain transparent

I call them honorable women of integrity

Fair remain fair as long as it's fair
There are extraordinary women
They are living in their time
And they are in time with their integrity
They deserve honor as they live it
Perfectionism is not enough
They remain constant and consistent
Women like Mapule Tshabalala
Women like Sara Mahlangu
Women like Selina Madihlaba
They are extraordinary women they deserve their Honor
I fore one applaud them for inherent of their heredity

There are women who are making difference
Printing their footprints

Women's Liberation

Talk to me about the feminist movement,
the gubba middle class
hetero sexual revolution
way back in the seventies
when men wore tweed jackets with
leather elbows, and the women, well
I don’t remember or maybe I just don’t care
or can’t relate.
Now what were those white women on about?
What type of neurosis was fashionable back then?
So maybe I was only a school kid; and kids, like women,
have got on thing that joins that schemata,
like we’re not worth listening to,
and who wants to liberate women and children
what will happen in an egalitarian society
if the women and the kids start becoming complacent
in that they believe they should have rights
and economic independence,
and what would these middle class kids and white women do
with liberation, with freedom, with choices of
do I stay with my man, do I fall in love with other
white middle class women, and it wouldn’t matter if
my new woman had kids or maybe even kids and dogs
Yes I’m for the womens movement
I want to be free and wear dunlop tennis shoes.
And indigenous women, well surely, the liberation
of white women includes all women regardless . . .
It doesn’t, well that’s not for me to deal with
I mean how could I, a white middle class woman,
who is deciding how can I budget when my man won’t
pay the school fees and the diner’s card club simply
won’t extend credit.
I don’t even know if I’m capable
of understanding
Aborigines, in Victoria?
Aboriginal women, here, I’ve never seen one,
and if I did, what would I say,
damned if I’m going to feel guilty, for wanting something
better for me, for women in general, not just white
middle class Volvo driving, part time womens studies
students
Maybe I didn’t think, maybe I thought women in general
meant, Aboriginal women, the Koori women in Victoria
Should I apologise
should I feel guilty
Maybe the solution is to sponsor
a child through world vision.
Yes that’s probably best,
I feel like I could cope with that,
Look, I’d like to do something for our Aborigines

Women Throughout Time

Women are here, there and every where,
But the society didn't give them in the past any care.
They were forced to live in carelessness, a real nightmare
They weren't allowed to take part in the society or even to share
They had to take permission even before breathing fresh air
They were by every person tamed,
And for every thing they were blamed
They hadn't any courage and all the time they were ashamed.

But this situation is no longer,
As the years taught women to be stronger.
The years taught them how to be supreme without fears,
And that their legal rights are like pearls.
Since our great women claimed for their rights,
And the entire world was awakened to women's great shouts.

The world knew that women in society have great rank,
And recognized that their legal rights in the deep ocean sank.
So the society broke all the chains around the woman her self,
And the woman came out to the world leaving her narrow shelf.

Women are amazing creatures,
Women are an object of mystery.
They are full of dazzling features,
They played their own part in the history.
Women are a great and heavenly treasure,
The epitome of human pleasure.

Now women wear looks of confidence on their face,
And they took of and tore mask of grace.
Women went quickly to learn to gain,
More education to travel through the world in their educational plane.
With their rights they can do any thing to achieve their aim,
But nothing can put out women's enthusiasm flame.

They look from every high place to their future,
And they move in every way of progress and culture.
Now a woman can go to work at schools,
And with her great word she can break any unfair rules.
And now and after giving the women all their rights,
The entire world says that by women it brights.

And such that day we honour the woman and celebrate,
The great woman who opened to the world the hope gate,
You read my poem and that is the end but don't leave,
Women still don't have all their rights, please believe.
I know that women took all their rights now and before,
But when will women stop sweeping the floor?

Get Up, Stand Up

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Preacherman, dont tell me,
Heaven is under the earth.
I know you dont know
What life is really worth.
Its not all that glitters is gold;
alf the story has never been told:
So now you see the light, eh!
Stand up for your rights. come on!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: dont give up the fight!
Most people think,
Great God will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. jah!
Get up, stand up! (jah, jah!)
Stand up for your rights! (oh-hoo!)
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up!)
Dont give up the fight! (life is your right!)
Get up, stand up! (so we cant give up the fight!)
Stand up for your rights! (lord, lord!)
Get up, stand up! (keep on struggling on!)
Dont give up the fight! (yeah!)
We sick an tired of-a your ism-skism game -
Dyin n goin to heaven in-a jesus name, lord.
We know when we understand:
Almighty God is a living man.
You can fool some people sometimes,
But you cant fool all the people all the time.
So now we see the light (what you gonna do? ),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (yeah, yeah, yeah!)
So you better:
Get up, stand up! (in the morning! git it up!)
Stand up for your rights! (stand up for our rights!)
Get up, stand up!
Dont give up the fight! (dont give it up, dont give it up!)
Get up, stand up! (get up, stand up!)
Stand up for your rights! (get up, stand up!)
Get up, stand up! ( ... )
Dont give up the fight! (get up, stand up!)
Get up, stand up! ( ... )

Portobello Belle

Bella donnas on the high street
Her breasts upon the off beat
And the stalls are just the side shows
Victorianas old clothes
And yes her jeans are tight now
She gotta travel light now
Shes gotta tear up all her roots now
She got a turn up on the boots now
Yeah she thinks shes tough
She aint no english rose
But the blind singer
Hes seen enough and he knows
Yes and he do a song
About a long gone irish girl
Ah but I got one for you my portobello belle
She sees a man upon his back there
Escaping from a sack there
And bella donna lingers
Her gloves they got no fingers
Yeah, the blind man singing irish
He get his money in a tin dish
Just a corner serenader
Upon a time he could have made her, made her
Yeah, she thinks shes tough
She aint no english rose
Ah, but the blind singer
Hes seen enough and he knows
Yes and do a song
About a long gone irish girl
But I got one for you my portobello belle
Yes and these barrow boys are hawking
And a parakeet is squawking
Upon a truck a paper rhino
She get the crying of a wino
And then she get the reggea rumble
Bella donnas in the jungle
But she aint no garden flower
These aint no distress in the tower
Oh, bella donna walks
Bella donna taking a stroll
But, she dont care about your window box
Or your button hole
Yes and she sing a song about a long gone irish girl
But I got one for you my portobello belle

Y he recorrido el mundo entero y jamas

Sprinkle drinkle in the bar

Sprinkle drinkle in the bar
how I wonder what side car
I’ll rush into as some knight
whets my blurry appetite.
Drinkle, twinkle, little bar –
only hope you’re up to par!

When to blazes one is gone
ten more line up for the fun,
can I, canned, quite see the light,
can I dream of selenite?
Drinkle drinkle nothing bar –
spare a dropp for grandmama!

When rich traveller in the dark
thanks one for the little lark
two play at in dark car park,
take him for a ride stripped stark.
One should thank that lucky star
and save a tip[ple] for mamma!

But – night’s curtains rise – still keep
all Tom’s change to pay for peep,
one should never shut an eye
till its time to say goodbye!
Drinkle’s cost? - what’s lost won’t count
[hope it is a large amount] J

As his drooping tiny spark
stands not on ceremony, mark,
one should heave par[s]ting remark -
“ciao” then leave him in the dark!
Drinkle, drinkle little bar
Closing time’s the best by far!

When at last Night’s curtain falls
Knight takes no more curtain calls,
see his bark grow[l] worse than bite –
both, if witnessed, could indict –...
Help I’m summoned to the bar
no-contest? judgement won by star?

19 March 2005 Parody Ann & Jane TAYLOR The Star, William Blake Tyger

'The Star'

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!

Women Are Smarter

Let us put men and women together
See which one is smarter
Some say men, but I say no
Women run the men like a puppet show
It ain't me
It's the people that say
Men are leading the women astray
But I say, it's the women today
Smarter than the man in every way
Chorus:
That's right
The women are smarter
That's right
The women are smarter
That's right
The women are smarter
The women are smarter
That's right
Little boy sit on the corner and cry
Big man come and he asked him why
He said, "I can't do what the big boys do"
The man sat down and he cried too
It ain't me
It's the people that say
Men are leading the women astray
But I say, it's the women today
Smarter than the man in every way
Chorus:
That's right
The women are smarter
That's right
The women are smarter
That's right
The women are smarter
The women are smarter
That's right, that's right
Ever since the world began
Women been banned from the ways of man
Listen boy cuz I've got a plan
Give it up, don't try and understand
It ain't me
It's the people that say
Men are leading the women astray
But I say, it's the women today
Smarter than the man in every way
Chorus:
That's right
The women are smarter

Through the eyes of a Field Coronet (Epic)

Introduction

In the kaki coloured tent in Umbilo he writes
his life’s story while women, children and babies are dying,
slowly but surely are obliterated, he see how his nation is suffering
while the events are notched into his mind.

Lying even heavier on him is the treason
of some other Afrikaners who for own gain
have delivered him, to imprisonment in this place of hatred
and thoughts go through him to write a book.

Prologue

The Afrikaner nation sprouted
from Dutchmen,
who fought decades without defeat
against the super power Spain

mixed with French Huguenots
who left their homes and belongings,
with the revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
Associate this then with the fact

that these people fought formidable
for seven generations
against every onslaught that they got
from savages en wild animals

becoming marksmen, riding
and taming wild horses
with one bullet per day
to hunt a wild antelope,

who migrated right across the country
over hills in mass protest
and then you have
the most formidable adversary
and then let them fight

in a natural wilderness
where the hunter,
the sniper and horseman excels
and any enemy is at a lost.

Let them then also be patriotic
into their souls,
believe in and read
out of the word of God
