Communication

(bramble, palmer, taylor, taylor)
Airmail, cassettes.. postcards, telex
Drop me a line, be my grapevine
Im always trying to reach you, cant get through
Our communication depends on me and you
Got to stay in touch even though were on the move
Keep your lines open, say, whats new
Exchange the facts, keep in contact
I keep on trying to call you but I cant get through
Our communication must get through
Communication.. dont hang up
Communication.. keep in touch
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Send word, stay tuned, call me real soon
Every time I phone you, youre not home
Weve got to stay in touch on the telephone
I keep on trying to reach you
But I cant get through
Our communication must get through
Communication.. baby, talk to me
Communication.. information, please
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Communication.. dont hang up
Communication.. keep in touch
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Communication.. baby, talk to me
Communication.. information, please
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Communication.. baby, dont hang up
Communication.. keep in touch
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Communication.. baby, talk to me
Communication.. information, please
Communication.. dont put me on hold
Situation.. soul to soul
Communication.. ahh, dont hang up....

Comminication Braekdown

We never walk We never talk
We never find the time To be close again
There it goes again
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
Too much concern for money to burn
Too many things to do Now you don't need me
And I don't need you
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
One by one They fail Now the leaves our lover
Cling to the ground
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
Too much too soon Too much temptation
In a hurry It's a sad situation
Too much worry I can tell Well it's over now
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
There it goes
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
When it's right, it's all right
When it's wrong, it's all wrong
When it's gone, it's all gone
It's too late
Communication breakdown
Communication breakdown
I can tell Well it's over now

The ten commandments of communication

The ten commandments of communication

Verify your ideas before clarification, as to whether the contents of your
communication will really serve the purpose of your communication. Consult others, where appropriate, the communication plan. This will help you decide the audience-based right content, flow, duration and location.

Make clear to the audience the true purpose of communication. Make it known to the audience as to what you want them to do after receiving the inputs from you. It can be just an act, can be an attitudinal change, can be drawing a strategy or plan of action.

Ensure you are in the right set of environment for the communication.
Communication is not effected just by words and gestures, but also by the quality of place where you communicate.

Take into confidence your audience. Encourage them to come out with their experience in the subject of communication. Accordingly polish your ways.

Be sure where to emphasize and where to dilute. Check yourself the
overtones and emphasis on messages conveyed, as audience may not notice.

Avoid being theoretical all through. Give practical examples. Enthuse
audience to come out with problems, connected with the subject and offer, if possible, practical solutions.

Follow up with what you communicate. Ensure audience is with you through the entire communication. Give no impression that you are evaluating their ability to absorb.

Demonstrate that you practice what you preach. Your past experiences may come handy.

Communicate for tomorrow, based on previous learning, enabling the audience visualize new horizons on the subject of communication.

Last, but not the least, seek not to be understood, but to understand. Be a good listener too.

Communication

Its traveling faster than the eye can see
Information in the sky
Messages beamed across the atmosphere
Transmitted by you and i
Chorus:
Communication
Say the words
Are you there?
Can I be heard?
First indication
Heart to heart
Come together
Worlds apart
Oh, thank heavens for the microwave
Cant ignore technology
Its so easy to communicate
How come youre not hearin me
Chorus 2:
Communication
Say the words
Are you there?
Can I be heard?
Station to station
Coast to coast
Face to face
Will tell you most
Now were livin in the computer age
The pictures on my video
I keep your number in my database
Turn it onto audio
Communication
Say the words
Are you there?
Can I be heard? (why dont you say that you need me)
Person to person
Heart to heart
Come together
Worlds apart
Repeat chorus 2
Repeat chorus
Communication
Say the words (why dont you say it babe)
Are you there? (why dont you say it babe)
Can I be heard? (why dont you say it babe)
Communication (why dont you say it babe)
Heart to heart
Come together
Worlds apart
Communication

The Fountain Of Lamneth

I. in the valley
Words and music by geddy lee, alex lifeson, and neil peart
I am born
I am me
I am new
I am free
Look at me
I am young
Sight unseen
Life unsung
My eyes have just been opened
And theyre open very wide
Images around me
Dont identify inside
Just one blur I recognize
The one that soothes and feeds
My way of life is easy
And as simple are my needs
Yet my eyes are drawn toward
The mountain in the east
Fascinates and captivates
Gives my heart no peace
The mountain holds the sunrise
In the prison of the night
Till bursting forth from rocky chains
The valley floods with light
Living one long sunrise
For to me all things are new
Ive never watched the sky grow pale
Or strolled through fields of dew
I do not know of dust to dust
I live from breath to breath
I live to climb that mountain to
The fountain of lamneth
Ii. didacts and narpets
Words and music by geddy lee, alex lifeson, and neil peart
Listen...
Iii. no one at the bridge
Words and music by geddy lee, alex lifeson, and neil peart
Crying back to consciousness
The coldness grips my skin
The sky is pitching violently
Drawn by shrieking winds
Seaspray blurs my vision
Waves roll by so fast
Save my ship of freedom
Im lashed helpless to the mast
Call out for direction
And theres no one there to steer
Shout out for salvation

My Lady Of Whims

(A medieval Spanish legend slanderously setting forth the utter unreason of woman.)
ROMAQUIA sat and wept her
Lace mantilla full of tears.
King Abit laid by his scepter,
Left the Council of the Peers.
'Now what sorrow makes thee cry, mate?
Queen of Seville, sobbing so?'
''Tis your Andalusian climate.
Oh, I want to see the snow.'
'Speak thy wish and it is granted;
Thine to bid and mine to please.'
All the hills and plains he planted
With a myriad almond trees.
When the suns of February
Made them white with blossoming,
Romaquia was so merry
That she kissed the happy king.
'Every ill has its panacea,'
Wrote the learned King Abit,
Smiling on his Romaquia,
While he wondered at his wit.
Romaquia sat and wept her
Dainty fan into a dud.
King Abit threw by his scepter
With an unmajestic thud.
'What's the trouble, top of treasures?'
'See those women by the flood
Kneading bricks, but I've no pleasures.
I can't dabble in the mud.'
Loud he called his master mason
And in bower of eglantine
Built a jade and jasper basin,
Filled with rose-water and wine.
Then for mud he poured in spices,
Ginger, mace and cinnamon,
Sugar, honey, syrups, ices,
That the Queen might have her fun.
'Every ill has its panacea,'
Wrote the learned King Abit
Wondering if his Romaquia
Recognized her husband's wit.
Romaquia in her garden
Watered all the trees with salt
Till they faded, and the warden
Was beheaded for the fault
Of his lachrymose sultana.
Oleander, citron, balm,
Orange, lemon and banana,
The pomegranate, myrtle, palm,
All were drooping for distresses

Communication

Communication always leaves in incomplete
The grass is greener, but its grown beneath my feet
Love inspiration is a message on a wing
But I have left in the words youll never sing
Communication let me down
And Im left here
Communication let me down
And Im left here
Telex or tell me but its always second-hand
Im incognito but no rendez-vous been planned
Dictate or relate I could send it to your home
Return to sender I could sing it down the phone
Im sitting and waiting by the telephone
Waiting for the bell to ring
Short change fumble
Dial-a-heart trouble
And I aint got time for searching through the rubble
Communication let me down
And Im left here
Communication let me down
And Im left here

Conditioning

Communication is strange with me
Discrimination forgets to leave
I hardly remember why I locked the door
..and I'll never seize the day while I'm doing o.k.

Education is a mask on conditioning
We're not winding up the slack on Hollywood gas
and the fight never occured to the victor
The victims hard on blue plays the afflictor

Forgetful host. My eyes are closed
Reminiscent of the imperial hand
I hardly remember why I locked the door
..and I'll never seize the day while I'm doing o.k.

Communication is strange with me...
Communication is hard to see...
Communication- to HEAR is the key
Communication is strange with me...

Communiqu

We wanna get a statement for Jesus' sake
It's like a talking to a wall
He's incummunicado
No comment to make
He's saying nothing at all
Yeah but in the communique
You know he's gonna come clean
Think what he say
Say what he means
Maybe on a Monday he got something to say
Communication
Communique
Communique
Maybe he could talk about the tricks of the trade
Maybe he could talk about himself
Maybe he could talk about the money he made
Maybe he be saying something else
But in the communique you know he's gonna come clean
Think what he say
Say what he means
Maybe on a Monday he got something to say
Communication
Communique
Communique
Well now the rumours are flying
Speculation rife
They say that he's been trying someone else's wife
Somebody at the airport
Somebody on the phone
Say he's at the station and he's coming home alone
Then we get the story
The serious piece
And a photography a taken in the hall
And you don't have to worry with the previous release
Right now he's saying nothing at all
But in the communique you know he's gonna come clean
Think what he say
Say what he mean
Maybe on a Monday he'll have something to say

Communication

Light beams from outer space
Drifting to your satellite
Your dish responds
Communication disinformation
So entertaining
Blood money blood money
Its wild in here
Theres a girl on the floor
Shes gonna blow this place apart
Gonna take us all
All away
Communication disinformation
So entertaining
Blood money blood money
Its wild out here
You should see the light
]from the crown of the king
The king of the night
Spinning metal blue satellite
Your dish responds
Communication disinformation
So entertaining
Blood money blood money
Its wild out here
Situations alright
Gonna keep up the lies
And our version of life
I wont leave this dirty place
Ill stay here til the end
The lights are on
So action man
Show us the truth
Communication disinformation
So entertaining
Blood money blood money
Theres a war out here
Theres a bomb on the floor
Gonna blow this place apart
Gonna take this show away

Keep Talking

Citizens of the world, to you, I now do beseech,
Whatever happened to good old fashioned speech?
Now, we all seem to communicate with our fingers,
So that, no longer, in the air, do any spoken sounds linger.
If we talk to each other, face to face or on a telephone,
We can detect colour in speech and variations in tone.

We rely too much on electronic communication, but
If electricity and mobile phone networks were ever cut,
To us, the world around us, would suddenly fall apart,
And, with regards to communication, we’d be back at the start.
We would have to revert to the communication system of old,
With news and views, to each other, now being, personally, told.

Speaking to each other in person, is a pretty sure fire way
To ensure important information doesn’t get lost along the way.
You’ve probably had someone send you an email, that you didn’t get,
And you probably have undelivered text messages somewhere, I bet!
The idea that, to each other, we should actually speak,
Is one which, nowadays, seems considered rather antique.

Methods of communication seem to forever advance,
But, to form relationships with others, we get less chance.
If we talk to each other, there’s usually room for two way interaction,
But, by using electronic means, from this, there’s a marked retraction.
Whether it be to a friend, relation, colleague or lover,
We really do need to keep on talking to each other.

Pay Attention! Part 2 (listen with your eyes)

Pay Attention Part 2 (listen with your eyes)

Pay attention!
Truly watch the one you’re with and you’ll see what most miss
Let them do the speaking, and watch closely while listening
Don’t think what your reply shall be, as most people are want to do
nor interrupt or comment while they speak.
Instead, listen superficially and observe hypercritically.

As much of communication involves facial contortions
and body gyrations, as does the actual uttering of words and sound
Follow the subject matter with sufficient attention, enough
To satisfy your speakers desire to speak, then endeavour to
Observe the amazing physicality involved
In this most multi-faceted, supremely descriptive,
intricate act of tacit communication

Watch, and hear with your eyes!
Observe the unceasing gymnastics of your speaker’s dancing eyebrows
Note the many times that only one brow arches high
When expressing derision, disdain, or contempt
Note the ‘window-shade-flying-up’ effect
When your speaker expresses surprised amazement
As much optically, as orally, in their discourse

Listen to their expressions!
Watch the subtle interplay of eyelids as they slowly lower
To narrow the openings, so as to express deep suspicions
Or intense examination in their subject, and more yet,
To flutter like bird’s wings, in excited exasperation

Listen lightly and observe heavily!
Tis almost a sure occasion that in your daily discourses
You but allow to pass unnoticed this rich melange of mute communication
This most primal means of information transport
That is passed in passed in utter silence
Yet loudly, says so much

Please pay attention!
Or you will surely, unknowingly miss
Much of this very outspoken, richly textured
Delightfully expressed communication, audible, not to one’s ear
But only through one’s eyes, and then only to those privileged few
Who know to see, when one speaks

If my overblown orations and ruminations arouse a bit of interest, please let me know and I’ll continue
With a Part III

Silence and Language

Silence is our original composition and speech
Languages are the dresses we wear;

What we convey and understand remains the same
Despite the various languages we use;

Words are clothed senses in silence;
Once we decipher, understanding dawns,
Silence, peace and bliss pervade us;

What we experience, mean, understand, conceive,
think, utter, listen, perceive, understand, experience
Through languages and communication are in essence the same.
The manifestations of Silence;

Silence is Divine Mood
Lord's Speech;

Communication with our Self is Silence;
Communication with the rest is
Silence wrapped, by language;

We need Silence and Language
Which are supplementary and complementary
In communication and for realization;

Trees

whenever the lustre of my amber glistens,
i could feel the price it had exacted on the trees,
blood red tears meandering rough and uneven tracks
to land where they were kept like a child for a million years

they emerge to fascinate us with coruscating tales
of the romances with time, lost on the memory of men,
the dinosaurs, the first forests, the insects -
which now sparkle with such subtlety - they draw us
to the heart of their very existence, the million
years in the now, solidified, and now dangling right
at the door to the heart, our bossom

the trees, the trees, so many of them
standing tall and proud, as if broadcasting to us
if they had not been around, creation
would have been at a standstill

the trees, the trees, they fuel the world
a panacea to foibles rolled into one tall order, -
so that our cars run, our kitchen cooks, our umbrella works,
the news reach us handsomely wrapped, the chopsticks
to pick our food, the clogs to walk and rattle autumn,
the medicine to heal our rebellious body, fruits for
the seasons, the table for us to write on and a cosy
space for the dead to dream on

when they stand in a fusion at the break of dawn
it feels one has stumbled upon a meditative realm
of the highest kind - the orchestra blasting away
in them permeates every hidden place - they only help
to enhance that robustness and promises of the day
the sun channels its recuperative light - leaves that dance,
filter the music and the essence of the day

trees, trees.... abodes of birds, animals, they tell
on the weather, sing the storm before it approaches
and whistles to us fine spring tunes

trees trees standing so tall, majestic affording
a luxuriance to cool ourselves as we brood over
our destiny - trees our only saviours as the earth
climbs the mercury ever ready to send us
into obivion in a spinning fiery hot cauldron

second version:

whenever the lustre of my amber
glistens, i could feel the price

Ideology and communication more often than not run into each other rather than complement each other. Principle and communication work together. Ideology and communication often work apart.

Marriage Mission

Countless couple cut communication
Communication cut, cripples courtship
Continuous communication creates;
Captivating colourful courtship

Most married men make many mistakes
Mates misunderstand marriage’s missions
Marriage’s missions: mentoring, maturing, multiplication, mating
Mission missed marriage messed
Mate must meet marriage’s missions
Mission met marriage mended

Communication

An introduction to a rapid ray
Will explode like grenade
Check the medical aid
cause the way that we parade the fade
Any mc that claims that they can be
Tend the mic when we strike precisely
We freak the level with the funk from the inner
Heaven, give me inner, black as I present a
Flock a rhyme that rock you off an ass
Powerful, power flows thatll leave your soul paralyzed
Yo, I respect that you be g-in (...in)
Its the return of mc-in (...in)
Yo, thank God for the season (...on)
And dont be tryin to think about a reason
cause there is no reason for you to front
We create cuts to give you what you want
Activate communication for the whole
Shocking your mind with rhymes
Doin it like what ap (like this here)
Rockin it like what ap (like this here)
Flippin it like what ap (like this here)
Doin it like what ap (like this here, yeah)
We do it upside down (8x)
Can I get a ha from my brothers that be chillin downtown
Ho for the people that be in it what we do
Yo check it out cause we black and positive
I suck in negative from you
I got many rhymes format from the back of the brain
Interluding with the powerful matter scatter your frame
You fallin (yo) check out what we do
We be all in on the microphone never stallin
Rhythm is my ride for the voyage of the mind
Exclusive rhyme patting us for what we design
I am my own picasso when I roll
Rhyming is my art for my heart and soul
We positive when mc-in (...in)
Break bounce with the new blend (...end)
Original til the end (...end)
Sittin it all for no reason
They fell off at the attempt to elevate
They try to duplicate the art we create
So activate communication for the world
Shocking your mind with rhymes
Doin it like what will (like this here)
Rockin it like what will (like this here)
Shockin em like what will (like this here)
Rockin it like what will (yo, yo, its like this here, yeah)

We goin worldwide, across the nation
Now that weve activated our communication
