Mao mao mao...
I love the sound of smashing guitars /

Red guitars against the wall / big guitars can turn so small /

The 6-string kick inside / the 6-string kick inside /
The 6-string kick inside.
I love the sound of breaking guitars /
I love the sound of crashing guitars /
Hey you long haired vintage jesus /
Break the guitar into 1000 pieces /

The 6-string kick inside / the 6-string kick inside.
Dont you love the sound of crashing guitars? /
Dont you love the sound of crashing electric guitars? /
Dont you love that sound, drivin in your car /
Dont you love the sound of crashing electric guitars? /

Girls With Guitars

She turned fifteen with great expectations
Her older brother knew somethin? was up
He caught her going through his record collection
Lookin? at hendricks like a love sick pup
She begged and she pleaded till dad finally listened
He drove her in the car down to sears roebuck
He bought her that guitar and that was the beginning
Now shes down in the cellar with the amp turned up
Girls with guitars
Daddys little angel
Girls with guitars
Whats the world coming to?
Girls with guitars
Mothers tend to worry about
Girls with guitars
Well, saturday nights she followed her brother
It was socks and stockings on the old gym floor
While everybody danced to garage band covers
She was checking out riffs and memorizing chords
She didnt care at all for the football heroes
She didnt even notice the basketball stars
Boys as a species were all a bunch of zeroes
Except for the ones that played that guitar
Girls with guitars
She wasnt any debutante
Girls with guitars
She didnt go out for cheerleading
Girls with guitars
Boys are kinda nervous round
Girls with guitars
She went off to college, she got her degree
Her parents breathed a sigh of great relief
Daddys thinking law school, mothers thinking medicine
Daughters thinking how shes gonna break the news to them
Now theres an old chevy van just sitting in the driveway
Filled to the gills with all her stuff
She cut a deal with her brother to drive up the highway
Figures new york city is close enough
She gets the audition through a friend of a friend
Whos checking out her legs saying, this will never work!
She flips on her boogie and turns to the band
Gives a little grin and blows away the jerk
Girls with guitars
Now everybodys rockin? br> girls with guitars
There ought to be a song about
Girls with guitars
Theres just no stopping those
Girls with guitars
Get your money for nothin? and your guys for free

I Hear Guitars a' Calling

I hear guitars a' calling in the gloaming's final fling
When sinking suns relay their flames to fairies on the wing
Igniting one by one the jewels of midnight's diamond blaze
As day becomes a yawning ash beneath a starry gaze.

I hear guitars a' calling from the clouds within the skies,
With tunes which flow as purple drops from sad and weepy eyes
Of silent speaking troubled souls who stand alone in grief,
But hold the vastness of the stars within a trembling leaf.

I hear guitars a' calling from the beat beneath her breast,
The murmur throbs of passion and a sensuous unrest
That rumbles deep in silent woods before the raging storm
And splits the air in morning meadows bursting green with corn.

I hear guitars a' calling in the gentle splashing rain,
Which summons with a soothing purr upon my window pane
And conjures up a childhood dream within a vagrant breeze
Entwining me in cryptic webs of misty vortices.

I hear guitars a' calling from the waves on distant shores;
They're crashing out their monody upon the mystic oars
Of phantom ships within the dawn and midnight caravels,
A' sail on seas of raven wings to moonlit citadels.

I hear guitars a' calling in the morning's reveilles;
They're pouring fires in the skies and burning up the seas,
While waking flowers in the fields and setting trees ablaze,
And closing one by one the eyes of midnight's starry gaze.

I hear guitars a' calling from the deserts of my mind;
They're howling of a hollow land adrift on empty time
Where pathless sands are blazing hot, the sun is standing high,
A thirsting dog is barking faint' with tongue that's long and dry.

Guitars And Tiki Bars

We all get sick of it all now and then
When I've had it up to here
I go down there
To guitars, tiki bars and a whole lotta love
Mangoes and Marley, you know, fit me like a glove
Sixth gear with nowhere to steer
When enough is enough
It's guitars, tiki bars and a whole lotta love
I feel like a fish jerked out of the sea
Or a bird in a cage that's never seen a key
Sick of this grind and I think that I ought
To bring this grind to a grinding halt
Now I've had it up to here
Let's go down there
To guitars, tiki bars and a whole lotta love
Mangoes and Marley, you know, fit me like a glove
Sixth gear with nowhere to steer
When enough is enough
It's guitars, tiki bars and a whole lotta love
Now I've had it up to here

Mangoes and Marley, you know, fit me like a glove
Sixth gear with nowhere to steer

Thinking I Was There to be The Only One!

She enjoyed her men packed.
He enjoyed his women stacked...
And full of chested love,
Kept bared

But they were not demonstrative.
And no one ever strayed...
To betray what they had together.
Who gave what and why is the question.
And who learned what lesson from this?

'You all are being too delusional'.

She enjoyed her men packed.
He enjoyed his women stacked...
And full of chested love,
Kept bared.

Murder On Music Row

Nobody saw him running from sixteenth avenue.
They never found the fingerprint or the weapon that was used.
But someone killed country music, cut out its heart and soul.
They got away with murder down on music row.
The almighty dollar and the lust for worldwide fame
Slowly killed tradition and for that someone should hang (oh, you tell them alan).
They all say not guilty, but the evidence will show
That murder was committed down on music row.
Chorus:
For the steel guitars no longer cry and fiddles barely play,
But drums and rock n roll guitars are mixed up in your face.
Old hank wouldnt have a chance on todays radio
Since they committed murder down on music row.
They thought no one would miss it, once it was dead and gone
They said no one would buy them old drinking and cheating songs (Ill still buy em)
Well there aint no justice in it and the hard facts are cold
Murders been committed down on music row.
Chorus:
Oh, the steel guitars no longer cry and you cant hear fiddles play
With drums and rock n roll guitars mixed right up in your face
Why, the hag, he wouldnt have a chance on todays radio
Since they committed murder down on music row
Why, they even tell the possum to pack up and go back home
Theres been an awful murder down on music row.

Blood Bound

Countdown, descending down to zero
Bursting into flames
Can't you see the coming of a hero
On this enchanting day
So stand up and be counted
In the solar glance in the desert sand
No longer the hunted
United we are 'til the day we fall
A chain unbreakable
Every link is allied to our mighty vow
We're Blood Bound - We aim for the sun
The luminous moon will take us high over ground
We're Blood Bound - Collecting the stars
We hold a power that is greater than all
We're Blood Bound
Watch out, the heathen's all around us
Always watch you back
We've got a lust for freedom
Whatever they say we know we'll stay
We are indestructible
And no matter what happens we will rise above
We're Blood Bound - We aim for the sun
The luminous moon will take us high over ground
We're Blood Bound - Collecting the stars
We hold a power that is greater than all
We're Blood Bound
Look into my eyes
Tell me what is hidden deep inside
Chains about to break
It's the everlasting freedom for us all
We're Blood Bound - We aim for the sun
The luminous moon will take us high over ground
We're Blood Bound - Collecting the stars
We hold a power together
We're Blood Bound - We aim for the sun
The luminous moon will take us high over ground
We're Blood Bound - Collecting the stars
We hold a power together - Blood Bound
Power forever - Blood Bound
Power - We're Blood Bound

Collecting You

i could paint you in the dark
cause i've studied you with hunger
like a work of art
and these are very secret days
i collect my information
then i stowe it all away
call me
when you breeze through
to your appointments
the work you do
call me
i'm collecting you
the pleading prayer and hairshirt sting
my hair-trigger love and faulty spring
motivation smokes a name
i don't like that smile applied to me
so blindly just the same
call me
when you breeze through
to your appointments
the work you do
call me
i'm collecting you
turning up my collar
(turning up my collar)
to an unseasonal chill
you ask a favor
you know i will
and the rain comes a surprise
we fly across the railroad ties
i feel the danger
the foolish thrill
oh yes i will
what it will or won't be then
the shutter pre development of the of the ink full in the pen
mind the minds eye's trickery
cause you might picture killer beautiful
much more than it might be
call me
tell me
what you're up to
what you'll do
call me
i'm collecting you
i would be foolish
to think that i
could turn it off
and stay alive
the way i live
when you switch on

A Soapbox Opera

I want to tell you something;
Listen to me,
Im trying to say, Im better than you,
I am only what I am
We must not stand still,
For the night is coming,
Every man, every woman and child,
Everybody help me
I hear, only what I want to hear,
But, I have to believe in something,
Have to believe in just one thing.
I said father washington, youre all mixed up,
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup.
Well, spare a listen for a restless fool,
Theres something missing when I need your rule.
Well ,hey there;
You tell me youre a holy man, but, although I am just a
Beginner,
I dont see you as a winner.
I said, sister robinson, youre all washed up,
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup;
If I could tell you what you need to know;
If I could tell you to get on with the show.
Id rather never leave her,
Theres a storm in my head,
Makes me hear what you say;
Just was it true?
So, what have I to do?
-well, what has he to do? -
+oh, what is there to-oo do+
What oh-oh-ohoh
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful, the lord God made them all
Mary, oh tell me what Im living for,
cause I feel like Im tossed in the river,
Oh have you a son to deliver.
I said, father washington, youre all mixed up,
Collecting sinners in an old tin cup,
You tell the children what they need to know,
But, will they listen when its time to go.
Oh, sister robinson, youre all washed up,
Collecting teardrops in a paper cup,
Can someone tell me what I need to know,
Can someone help me to get on with the show.

Radio Star

Edwin McCain
Radio Star
And how my dad beat me and how much he drank
Do you think it'll help my records sell
Cause Im the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and Ill be gone in a week
Hang out with Britney and Fred Durst
Arrive in a limo, Ill leave in a hearse
And I cant decide now which part is worse
Losing my life to the game, or losing the fortune and fame
Cause Im the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and Ill be gone in a week
You put me on TV with all the cool stars
Like Letterman, Conan and Jay
Cause were all experts at the art of PR
And nobody knows that Im gay
Im the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and Ill be gone in a week
Im the radio star

A Night To Remember

I cant sleep tonight
I wont sleep tomorrow
Im goin deep and tight
I dont need no excuse
I feel mean tonight
One-eyed jacks and aces
Read em and weep tonight
Im gonna let all hell break loose
I want drums like thunder
Gimme guitars that scream
One woman who could shake me
Yeah, be my love machine
I need a love machine
To keep my motor running
Upon the big wide screen
I wanna see it all
Yeah, well be lean and mean
Well be synchronized together
Me and my love machine
Were gonna do it all
I want drums like thunder
Gimme guitars that scream
One woman who can rock me
Yeah, my little love machine
Were gonna make tonight
A night to remember
Were going hard and strong
Again and again
Yeah, were gonna make tonight
A night to remember
Yeah were gonna take tonight
Right to the end
I need drums like thunder
Gimme guitars that scream
One woman who can rock me
I need a love machine
We gotta make tonight
A night to remember
Were goin hard and strong
Again and again
Yeah, were gonna make tonight
A night to remember
Yeah were goin for a night
A night without end
We gotta make tonight
A night to remember
Were goin hard and strong
Again and again
Were gonna make tonight
A night to remember

If The Whole World Was A Honky Tonk

If the whole world was a honky-tonk,
And it revolved around an old jukebox,
We'd tell our troubles to the Bar,
Over cryin' steel guitars,
And soon, they'd all be gone.
Yeah, if you asked me what I thought,
I'd say: "We'd be better off,
"If the whole world was a honky-tonk."
You could smoke that cigarette,
An' be politically incorrect.
Show off that red 'round your neck:
Not hear a single soul object.
Wouldn't need no lawyers to decide,
Who is wrong and who is right.
No need for big expensive trials:
Brother, we'd just step outside.
If the whole world was a honky-tonk,
And it revolved around an old jukebox,
We'd tell our troubles to the Bar,
Over cryin' steel guitars,
And soon, they'd all be gone.
Yeah, if you asked me what I thought,
I'd say: "We'd be better off,
"If the whole world was a honky-tonk."
Wouldn't have to pay no tax:
Just set a tip jar in the back.
If we ran low, we'd pass the hat:
I bet we'd all be in the black,
If the whole world was a honky-tonk.
Instrumental Break.
And if you're lookin' love:
Someone to heal that broken heart.
Hey, buddy, you'd be in half.
You wouldn't have to go that far.
If the whole world was a honky-tonk,
And it revolved around an old jukebox,
We'd tell our troubles to the Bar,
Over cryin' steel guitars,
And soon, they'd all be gone.
If you asked me what I thought,
I'd say: "We'd be better off,
"If the whole world was a honky-tonk."
Life would be a three-chord song,
And the king would be George Jones,
If the whole world was a honky-tonk.
Instrumental Fade.

Kick It Up

(jim robinson)
Well I work six days out of seven
Waiting all week for saturday night
Going out to neon heaven
Punch the clock on party time
Jamming this old pickup across the county line
Aint it good to be alive
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Play it hot cause I came in here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Got my paycheck in my pocket
Darling well spend every dime
And when this bar starts rocking
Well show them all just how to unwind
Dont worry bout your troubles
Leave em at the door
And Ill meet you out on the floor
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Make it smoke cause she came in here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Kick it up
When the boss man gets you down
Kick it up
If youre tired of the runaround
Kick it up
Yeah we know monday morning will be here before too long
So until the night is gone
Kick it up
Tell the boys in the band
Play it hot make it smoke cause we came here to dance
Kick it up
Give that country girl a whirl
My boots are gonna lose the blues when they turn those guitars up
Kick it up
Oh kick it up
Kick it up (kick it up)
Kick it up (kick it up)
Kick it up
Kick it up (kick it up)
Kick it up

Grand Ole Opry Song

Come and listen to my story if you will Im gonna tell
About a gang of fellers from down at nashville
First Ill start with old red foley doin the chattanooga shoe
We cant forget hank williams with them good old lovesick blues
Its time for roy acuff to go to memphis on his train
With minnie pearl and rod brasfield and lazy jim day
Turn on all your radios I know that you will wait
Hear little jimmy dickens sing take an old cold tater and wait
Therell be guitars and fiddles, earl scruggs and his banjo too
Bill monroe singing em the honky tonky blues
Ernest tubbs number two wrongs wont make a right
At the grand ole opry evry saturday night
There was uncle dave macon his gold tooth and plug-hat
Cowboy copas singing tragic romance
Signed sealed and delivered with sam and kirk mcgee
And the master of ceremony was mr. george d. hays
There was lonzo and oscar a-poppin bubble gum
George morgan singin candy kisses yum yum
Got a hole in my bucket bringin in that georgia mill
Well sing the sunny side of the mountain and dance to the chicken reel
Therell be guitars and fiddles and banjo pickin too
Bill monroe singin em the honky tonky blues
Ernest tubbs number too wrongs wont make a right
At the grand ole opry evry saturday night
You can talk about your singers in all kinds of way
But none could sing the old songs like bradley kincaid
With his old hound dog guitar and the famous blue tail fly
Stringbean with hank snow and old fiddlin chubby wise
Therell be guitars and fiddles, earl scruggs and his banjo too
Bill monroe singin em the honky tonky blues
Ernest tubbs number two wrongs dont make a right

Oh Yeah

(ferry)
Some expression in your eyes
Overtook me by surprise
Where was i how was i to know?
How can we drive to a movie show
When the music is here in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
And so came to be our song
And so on through all summer long
Day and night drifting into love
Driving you home from a movie show
So in tune to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
They playing oh yeah on the radio
Its some time since we said goodbye
And now we lead our separate lives
But where am i where can i go?
Driving alone to a movie show
So i turn to the sounds in my car
Theres a band playing on the radio
With a rhythm of rhyming guitars
Theres a band playing on the radio
And its drowning the sound of my tears
Theyre playing oh yeah on the radio

Black Jack Davey

Black jack davey come running all night
Whistling loud and merry
he pray the bells around him ring, and shone the heart of a lady,
Shone the heart of a lady
How old are you my pretty little miss, how old are you my honey
She answered him with a loving smile: I'll be sixteen on sunday
Said I'll be sixteen on sunday
Come and go with me my pretty little miss, come and go with me my honey
I'll take you where the grass grows green, and you never will want for money
said you never will want for money
HOI
(guitars)
Pull off pull off your long blue gloves made of spanish leather
give to me your lilly-white hand, and we'll ride on together
Said we'll both ride on together
Well she pulled off her long blue gloves made of spanish leather
And gave to him her lilly-white hand and bid farewell forever
And they both rode off together
Well late last night the boss came home, enquiring bout his lady
The servant spoke: before she'd gone, she'd been with black jack davey
Rode off with black jack davey
Come on come on my coal black horse, your speedier than the grey
We'll ride all day and ride all night and we'll overtake my lady
I'll overtake my lady
Well they rode all night till the broad daylight, when they came to a river raging......
(slower) And there he spied his darling bride, in the arms of black jack davey
Wrapped up with black jack davey
(guitars)
Would you forsake your house and home, would you forsake your baby?
would you forsake your husband too, to go with black jack davey
Run off with blacck jack davey
(sort of shouting) yes i'll forsake my house and home, yes i'll forsake my baby
And i'll forsake my husband too, to go with black jack davey
I'm in love with black jack davey
Oooh (quietly)
GUITARS
Last night i slept on a feather bed, between my husband and baby
And now I lay on the river bed, in the arms of black jack davey
I'm in love with black jack davey.....
END!

The love For a Nephew

(His smile wide his teeth shining
as he stood with the bright guitar in his hand.)

As he lays in the casket some month later
all fancy and nice, he looks up to the stained glass windows

(The guitar so nice so strong
with its all mesmerizing sound)

the tears from the family friends and children
fall to the ground without a sound

(he looks into his uncles eyes
with joy with pride in his guitar)

the minister stands and reads the script
and he bows his head to the uncle who shall play

(He takes his pick from the case,
and strums the guritar with such grace)

the man with the guitar stands infront,
on stage ready to sing

(As he sits with his uncle
their guitars both in tune)

the man begins to play the song
that was once his nephews dream

(They sit and laugh at faults at trys
as their guitars play side by side)

pick in hand he strums the tune
and looks to the casket tears filling his eyes

(Their laughter filled the room with joy with love,
as the music came together like it was meant to be.)

half way through the tune becomes that afternoon a month ago.
the one with joy and laughter, the one with love.

(As the music slows and is perfected
they set down their guitars and embrace eachother)

The song comes to an end as the church fills with sobs,
with tears of sorrow of longing of loss

(They seperate and look at eachother with joy with faith,

Vision of Columbus – Book 3

Now, twice twelve years, the children of the skies
Beheld in peace their growing empire rise;
O'er happy realms, display'd their generous care,
Diffused their arts and soothd the rage of war;
Bade yon tall temple grace the favourite isle.
The gardens bloom, the cultured valleys smile,
The aspiring hills their spacious mines unfold.
Fair structures blaze, and altars burn, in gold,
Those broad foundations bend their arches high,
And heave imperial Cusco to the sky;
From that fair stream that mark'd their northern sway,
Where Apurimac leads his lucid way,
To yon far glimmering lake, the southern bound,
The growing tribes their peaceful dwellings found;
While wealth and grandeur bless'd the extended reign,
From the bold Andes to the western main.
When, fierce from eastern wilds, the savage bands
Lead war and slaughter o'er the happy lands;
Thro' fertile fields the paths of culture trace,
And vow destruction to the Incan race.
While various fortune strow'd the embattled plain,
And baffled thousands still the strife maintain,
The unconquer'd Inca wakes the lingering war,
Drives back their host and speeds their flight afar;
Till, fired with rage, they range the wonted wood,
And feast their souls on future scenes of blood.
Where yon blue summits hang their cliffs on high;
Frown o'er the plains and lengthen round the sky;
Where vales exalted thro' the breaches run;
And drink the nearer splendors of the sun,
From south to north, the tribes innumerous wind,
By hills of ice and mountain streams confined;
Rouse neighbouring hosts, and meditate the blow,
To blend their force and whelm the world below.
Capac, with caution, views the dark design,
From countless wilds what hostile myriads join;
And greatly strives to bid the discord cease,
By profferd compacts of perpetual peace.
His eldest hope, young Rocha, at his call,
Leaves the deep confines of the temple wall;
In whose fair form, in lucid garments drest,
Began the sacred function of the priest.
In early youth, ere yet the genial sun
Had twice six changes o'er his childhood run,
The blooming prince, beneath his parents' hand,
Learn'd all the laws that sway'd the sacred land;
With rites mysterious served the Power divine,
Prepared the altar and adorn'd the shrine,
Responsive hail'd, with still returning praise,
Each circling season that the God displays,
