Baseball Has Been Blemished

'Ladies and Gentlemen...
This is a dim, dark day we face in America.
Our troubles seem to have come and parked upon
Our Thresholds to bring and leave us sorrow...
Within our stadium walls and our manicured,
And richly green park diamonds.

In the past few years,
We have suffered through threats of terrorists
And the antics of Brittany Spears.
Paris Hilton
Rosie and 'The' Donald
Lower than average film revenue.
Plus...
The exposures revealed by our priests...
Who not only knelt at the altars
Of our divine pristine religious structures.
But also at the knees of our young boys.
Yes...
These days that come to crack our backs...
Seem to try to cloud our eyes,
With unrelenting tears.
Not only has a bomb been dropped on Obama.
With reports of his drug use as a young man...
Some twenty years ago.
But Maya Angelou's support of Hillary Clinton's
Run for president of this great nation...
Wishing she could give her away,
As one of her favorite things this holiday season!
Yes...
And although it pains me,
From the depths of my patriotic heart
To announce this latest most devastating blow.
I have come to announce the steroid use...
And other enhancing performance inducements
Taken by our highly paid baseball players!
This is a sad day for baseball!
Baseball...
Has been blemished!
While we were singing...
Take me out to the ball game
Take me out to the crowds.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...
Our boys were pumping themselves up,
With much more than vitamin C and Iron!

The very foundation of our strengths...
Seem to be crumbling beneath,
The secrets of our greed.
And mud stained feet!
What can and shall be done about this?
We must not let this defeat our greatness achieved.
And with a moment of silence...
Let us unite and bow our heads,
To be lead...
Once again to lift them up,
In the hopes to glimmer our brows in the Sun...
Once again.

This report is a call to action!

Let us pray.
Liberal Democrats. Conservative Republicans...
And Independents all.
Let us win back our dignity,
And the untarnished image of our beloved baseball.'

Everyone Who Has Been On a Terrorist Binge

One man is clearly brilliant.
While the other is fairly clever.
However one has scars remaining...
In a mind still clinging onto war.
And yet the other tries to convince...
Those mental wars will end.
And he recommends...
Psychological treatments,
To begin for everyone...
Who has been on a terrorist binge.

Always It Has Been You

Always it has been you;
Inspiring it has been too
To reflect upon these feelings
Shaping my life's dealings!

All were made to meet compare
To the one most beauteous and fair;
As though a reward for my faith,
Fearing not, prompted by the wraith;
I garner strength more than enough
To brave tomorrow, shedding my slough!

What of my uncertain tomorrow?
Will you free me of my sorrow?
For your concern, allow me to return
To you, the ardor for which you yearn!

In Love She Has Been Disappointed

yes, in love
she has been disappointed
with fate always playing pranks on her
one man to another man
one house to another house
always moving to another arms
for whatever comfort is left
of her
she feels betrayed
and ought not to trust anymore
yes, love is a disappointment
that is her latest
definition of what
love is

but always she will
fall on the same fault
if love disappoints her
to lust she will always return
there ain't no love in there
but there is always
the cure
for her temporary cares
her ceaseless loneliness
clinging to lust
for her survival

Once The Giving Of A Love Has Been Done

Once the giving of a love has been done,
And a growing with a togetherness...
Is not embraced by one.
Or discussions to communicate,
On a daily basis what takes place.
A giving of a love done,
Should not be argued until that giving is erased.

One has only to say,
If not show...
That a need to separate,
To depart from a stagnant space...
Both face,
Is the best thing to do...
Before love felt,
Becomes a show of a bitter act of hate!

Once the giving of a love has been done,
Some people begin to play run and chase!
Guess the expression behind my face.
And...
Let's deceive each other with secrets.
Only to leave both players left to feel alone.

What You Have Been Given Has Been Reflected

Your claims of getting older...
Does not validate itself,
By the display of childish games...
You play with such affect.
And yet you expect,
A hint of wisdom you believe exist...
Should gain more respect,
Because you demand it with persistence?

First of all...
You don't demand 'nothing' here.
Or anything else.
Just because you may have been blessed with longevity,
Does not mean...
An acknowledgement for it you should receive,
Instead of the ignorance you get!

This may not have occured to you.
Like the many moons that have passed,
With their sunsets!
When you are ready to self examine the way you are...
Complete with self assessment?
You will then comprehend,
What you have been given...
Has been reflected by the image shown.
The one you spent your childishness to perfect.

What Has Been Done Successfully

If all that he does,
Is just mimic my steps.
And whines pathetically,
In a manner to get attention...
With a bit of empathy.
He succeeds,
With this procedure.

What has been done successfully,
Is his ability to prove,
A need...
From an inexperienced heart.
And innovation with originality...
Has not begun to play a major part,
In his dependent personality.

He currently suffers from issues,
With a wish to impress.
And not yet ready to lift his head,
From a soft welcoming breast.
That patronizes his insecurities.
As he sucks his thumb!
While revelling in a protection,
He temporarily has won!

And my steps laid,
Required some bravery witnessed...
In the midst of everyone.
Without benefit,
Of applause or encouragement.
And this is what he believes,
Feeds success and not its quality.
Or the bleeding done,
He does not see!
Hidden from eyes to do privately.

Nearly None of It Has Been Applied

They were the ones who did not want to know anything.
They chose to be down to Earth.
Not trying to be too involved...
Or considered too concerned.
Not about 'worldly' things,
That is.
There is a comfort supplied in the not knowing of things!

Now they want to know what is going on?
And why things are the way they are.
And when are 'they' going to correct 'their' problems! ?
For them!
The ones who are satisfied in the not knowing of things!

You try to find answers for people like this!
But how can that be done...
When they've dismissed,
All opportunity...
To see things from an adult point of view!
But who knew they had no examples?

And they can not be criticized,
For quoting scriptures they've learned.
But like most things that they have learned...
Nearly none of it has been applied to their lives.

'Those people do that!
We don't do that.'

And all remain as ignorant as possible.
Since that is where they find their comforts!

I've Been Doing This Most Of My Life

'I never thought you were that serious.'

About what?
Serious about what?

'That which you do.'

Please.
I have no time for riddles.
What are you talking about?

'Your writing.'

I 'keep' telling you,
I've been doing this most of my life.
Almost 60 years now.

'Lies!
That's impossible.
I thought you told me you were in your late 40's? '

You see...
Even I am confused.
That's how long it has been.
When I was then a mere child,
In the mid...

'70's? '

70's? ? ?
Are you kidding?
I've been doing this...much...

You know?
You are right!
I write so much...
I forget!
It's 2011 isn't it?

I am so glad you are here.
God works in mysterious ways.
It just seems as if,
I've been doing this much, much longer.

'I know it was in the '70's' because I remember,
You told me your oldest sister, Mimmie...
Believes she is your mother sometimes.'

LOLOLOL...
Yep!
That she does.
But...
Don't tell her.
She will 'never' forgive me for revealing her real age!

Since the Government Has Been Broken

My life,
Has never been a convenience.
It has been a strategic manuevering,
To avoid polarization.

There had been those who attempted,
To block my path with inventive obstacles.
Trying to convince my sense of self,
That my acceptance of who I am...
Was nothing more,
Than a self inflicted sham.

While others who believed I sought attention,
Did their best to ignore my intentions.
And used my skin color as some kind of bait.
To make me feel my fate,
Was in their hands to disintegrate.

Dysfunctions and my choice of interests,
Became for them a focus.
And today these criminal minded beings...
Stand on the edge of an abyss,
As if they are the choice of folks...
To brag about which destruction,
Everyone prefers the most!

My life,
Has never been a convenience.
It has been a strategic manuevering,
To avoid polarization.
Something the country we live in,
Seems not to be able to escape.
Since the government has been broken...
By self interest and debate.

So Easy It Has Been made

I am not a terrorist!
At least I wasn't when I last checked.
I am, however, a divorced veteran of the Vietnam War,
Living alone on a fixed income.

I am a man who decided early in life,
To take a stand...
With a doing of things I believed were right.
As I kept my identity and pride and integrity in tact.
I did not seek to backbite or make excuses.

There is not a woman who can say or make claims,
I fathered any of her six children.
Or laid up in her face all day to nibble or chew,
On seven hundred dollars or more of food stamps.
OR was there to sleep with her,
And her other fatherless kids in subsidized housing...
Just to have a place to live as I complained,
About my circumstances.

I am a dedicated Black man!
Whether that is significant or not.
I am also patriotic.
And reminded on a daily basis,
I am amongst the very few...
Who choose to stand on my own two feet.
Although so easy it has been made,
For many to degrade themselves to live a lazy existence.

All Has Been Done

All the work has been done for us, and all men need to do is trust,
In the finished work God has done, by trusting fully, in God’s Son.
And all that God wants us to be, isn’t accomplished by you or me,
For all is done through the Lord, any vain effort should be ignored.

Jesus Christ sent us His Counselor, One to be with us forevermore,
God’s Holy Spirit, who lives inside, as our strength and inner guide.
We also get Christ’s righteousness, when in Him we place our trust,
A righteousness we can’t acquire, on our own, no matter our desire.

We’re a small part of the story, one ordained by God, for His Glory,
A story of redemption and love, written by The Author of life above,
God and Creator of the universe, reaching down to us on this earth,
Those deceived by sin in Paradise, redeemed by love and sacrifice.

The Love of the Eternal Creator, coming to earth to be mans Savior,
God instituting an Age of Grace, His way to save Adam’s fallen race.
Sending The Spirit to remove a veil, so all man can spiritually prevail,
With their eyes now open to Calvary, they come to Christ for Victory.

We bring nothing to the Cross, but a sinful nature and spiritual dross,
We come to God humble and meek, with our heart now open to seek,
A new life for God, to be our best, and God’s Spirit does all the rest,
As He guides us in our New Life, together as we Glorify Jesus Christ.

What Has Been Denied

One of the main reasons,
People don't know who they are...
Or can respect others to accept,
Is their approach to life.
And a valued place on false pretensions.

People have been made to believe,
And are convinced...
That reality is to be pretended,
And the more pretentious they are...
The more they reflect a 'version' of reality.
Blindly accepted.

And...
Those who are themselves,
And have lived reality...
From an experiencing of it,
Are perceived as being phony.
Although everything they have done...
Is based upon truth as it is,
And have attempted to deliver it.
But are criticized for being nonconformists.

One of the main reasons,
People don't know who they are...
Or can respect others to accept,
Is their approach to life.

One is taught how to live,
And how to act.
What beliefs to accept,
From those created...
And followed 'faithfully'.

And those who live not accepting,
Those beliefs to follow 'faithfully'...
Seem to live freer lives,
Without having lies to follow.

'Why is there so much conflict in the world.
Why are so many people unhappy? '

That's a good question.
And they are the ones who follow,
Taught beliefs.
Without seeking to live life,
To discover it on their own.
They follow and protest yet accept.

'But,
How can you say that? '

I've learned to stand back,
And observe that which has been denied.
My eyes have been open most of my life,
To see things as they are.
Not what I wish them to be.
With eyes open wide.

And apparently my 'version' has offered me,
A more peaceful co-existence.
And that for me is not phony at all.
I only have one face that I've shown.
Have you ever seen me wearing a mask?
To appease others doing it?

'No.'

You should take yours off.
You'll see exactly what I mean.
When you begin to experience life,
So many become offended.

Lady Luck Has Been So Kind To Me

Some like to think that your past is gone forever
But your memories good or bad won't fade away
And green of Spring to the young eyes look greener
And our sense of wonderment grow less with every day.

And memories of a childhood close to Nature
Despite time's passage with me still remain
I hear the dunnock chirping on the hedgerow
And the skylark piping o'er the hill again.

I grew up west of Millstreet in Duhallow
And Summer days the happiest days of all
Free of the classroom and it's many restrictions
Such happy memories one tend to recall.

I often roamed by Nature's streams and rivers
And I grew to love the dipper's scratchy song
And I only feel now I might be a stranger
In Claraghatlea North where I once belong.

I could have been born to a ghetto mother
An Urban child condemned to poverty
Away from Mother Nature's joys and beauty
But lady luck has been so kind to me.

Male robin with the reddish breast is singing
In leafy grove just out of Millstreet Town
And greenfinch on a bay tree softly piping
In Quiet Mountleader as the sun goes down.

The country lad will always learn from Nature
The sparrows nest an untidy ball of hay
But they always line it with the softest feathers
And in Spring you hear their nestlings chirp all day.

The happy childhood memories will stay young forever
Though our sense of wonder ebbs as we grow old
And it's true each person to tell has a story
Though many stories must remain untold.

And my untold story is of my childhood close to Nature
A country boy is never ever poor
And I retain the memories of Spring mornings
When thrush and blackbird piped in Annagloor.

The cows from Wintering indoors out on pasture
And Duhallow flushed with wildflowers looking green
And I feel happy for my childhood memories
And happy for the beauty I have seen.

The moorhen chirp in tall reeds by the river
To warn her chicks when she sense danger near
And her dark and tiny offsprings swim to cover
And their cheepings I fancy I still can hear.

The horned sheep are high on Clara Mountain
The old man say a few fine days ahead
When sheep are grazing on or near the summit
The weather on the mend it has been said.

By circumstance of birth I have been lucky
And from childhood happy memories I retain
And I hear the dipper singing in the river
And the skylark piping o'er the hill again.

Every Attribute You Have Has Been Bought

When I met you in that darkened room,
I just didn't realise,
That all I'd feel was heartbreak and gloom,
For peering into those eyes.

You looked just like a beauty queen,
Standing seductively over the bar,
The most gorgeous woman I'd ever seen,
A glistening beautiful star.

I may have had too much to drink,
But that didn't spoil my view,
In fact it inspired me to think,
My desire was to be with you.

How could a guy be so lucky in love,
It must be my ability to disarm,
What I'm seeing is a gift from above,
Full of good looks and charm.

At that point I seen my future laid out,
We would never again be apart,
I knew it was love so I let out a shout,
You have taken over my heart.

How could a guy be so lucky in life,
Meeting someone as beautiful as you,
Instantly I knew that she'd be my wife,
That would be done without further ado.

She would make me a perfect partner,
The drink must have given me that thought,
In the darkness I told her, you're perfect,
A body like yours can't be bought

I asked her if she'd share some time with me,
She didn't even put up a fight,
When she came over and said, yes I'm free.
I knew then I'd done something right.

We both laughed and danced the night away,
I knew we were made for each other,
Very soon I knew I would say,
I'd love you to meet my Mother.

At the end of the night I asked her home,
Surprisingly my beauty said yes,
I went to the mens room for a wash and a comb,
What came next was anyone's guess.

We went back to her flat instead of mine,
At the time I just didn't ask why,
The way she looked had me on cloud nine,
Just the thought of it all made me cry.

She wouldn't allow me to turn on the light,
Of her reasons I just wasn't aware,
If I had I'd probably have died of fright,
But at the time I just didn't care.

We then made out in every room,
Exhausted we both fell asleep,
We knew next day our passion would resume,
That was a promise we'd keep.

You were to be my future partner in crime,
My beauty I'd finally caught,
The angels were ensuring I had a good time,
A body like yours can't be bought.

Next day off came the wig and eyelashes,
Her make up and then her false teeth,
The daylight exposed all her rashes,
All this while I'm lying underneath.

She told me she was going to powder her nose,
Doing my make up just never fails,
I thought what else can this lady expose,
As I sat on her pack of false nails.

The botox was wearing off at this point,
Her wrinkles were there to be seen,
I said to myself, I'm out of this joint,
In truth I'm no longer so keen.

At this point the implants fell out of her chest,
They were splattered all over the floor,
I thought my God that's what I caressed,
At that point I made for the door.

She asked me for one more lingering kiss,
Like the one I had given her last night,
I said sorry darling but I'll give that a miss,
In sobriety you've given me a fright.

This story is told straight from the heart,
Be happy with what God's given you,
Or very soon you'll be falling apart,
It's your surgeon you'll be wanting to sue.

I knew then I'd made a major gaffe,
It made me feel really distraught,
She said lets make out, I said you're having a laugh,

‘' Every Attribute You Have Has Been Bought‘'
