Flying

Forever is ending
But you see a deer
Love isn't bending
It's gone with the beer
And I know that I am feeling better
Mary wants to love me so I'll let her
Chains and the irons
Have fallen off of me
I am much much lighter
Everyone can see
And I know that I am feeling better
Suzi wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Singing so loudly
I'm drowning out the birds
Singing nothing special
Just any happy words
And I know that I'm feeling better
Sally wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
Ain't lying
No crying
Look at me
I'm flying
I'm flying higher than ever before
I'm gliding
I'm soaring
I'm riding
I'm sweeping
I'm flying high
I'm flying
And I know that I am feeling better
Mary wants to love me so I'll let her
I'm flying
I'm flying
Look at me
I'm flying

Here To Stay

Here To Stay
Who is this man
That follows me
This blue eyed boy
Who wants to be
This worthy cause
Of human kind
This pawn set up by time
Like a bright light on the horizon
Shining so bright, he'll get you flying
He'll drive you away, he'll drive you insane
But then he'll remove all of your pain
Like a bright light on the horizon
Shining so bright, he'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, he'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, flying, flying
This open book
Yet to be read
This second look
This leap ahead
The hope I held inside
With you, was kept alive
Like a bright light on the horizon
Shining so bright, he'll get you flying
He'll drive you away, he'll drive you insane
But then he'll remove all of your pain
Like a bright light on the horizon
Shining so bright, He'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, He'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, flying, flying
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
We're here to stay
Like a bright light on the horizon
Shining so bright, he'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, he'll get you flying
He'll get you flying, flying, flying

Time Is Not Our Cage (Gabry Ponte Power Cut)

We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
and forever we go on
We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
Born to be forever young
Children of eternity
Always searching for a faster race
Defeating what time wants to be
There's no king
In this place
Like a star that belongs to the sky
And the times are our names in your mind
Our souls are the wings as we fly
Against time
We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
and forever we go on
We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
Born to be forever young
Just like an old song that's playing a tune
That revives what seems lost in the past
With dignity fighting for whom
In a way
Wants to last
Like a friendship of 10 years ago
That is frozen inside of a picture
That tomorrow can cancel and go
Against time
We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
and forever we go on
We are flying
and we're flying high till the end
We are men without an age
Time is not out cage
born to be forever young
Free as a soul is
Far beyond all the boundries of time

Flying For Me

This song appears on five albums, and was first released on the one world album, and has also been released on the a portrait, country classics, the rocky mountain collection and the country roa
Llection albums.
Well I guess that you probably know by now
I was one who wanted to fly
I wanted to ride on that arrow of fire right up into heaven
And I wanted to go for every man
Every child, every mother of children
I wanted to carry the dreams of all people right up to the stars
And I prayed that Id find an answer there
Or maybe I would find a song
Giving a voice to all of the hearts that cannot be heard
And for all of the ones who live in fear
And all of those who stand apart
My being there would bring us a little step closer together
They were flying for me
They were flying for everyone
They were trying to see a brighter day for each and everyone
They gave us their light
They gave us their spirit and all they could be
They were flying for me
They were flying for me
And I wanted to wish upon the milky way
And dance upon a falling star
I wanted to give myself and free myself, and join myself with it all
Given the chance to dream, it can be done
The promise of tomorrow is real
Children of spaceship earth
The future belongs to us all
She was flying for me
She was flying for everyone
She was trying to see a brighter day for each and everyone
She gave us her light
She gave us her spirit and all she can be
She was flying for me
They were flying for me
They were flying for everyone
They were trying to see a brighter day for each and everyone
They gave us their light
They gave us their spirit and all they can be
They were flying for me
They were flying for me
They were flying for me
They were flying for me

Invitation to Miss Marianne Moore

From Brooklyn, over the Brooklyn Bridge, on this fine morning,
     please come flying.
In a cloud of fiery pale chemicals,
     please come flying,
to the rapid rolling of thousands of small blue drums
descending out of the mackerel sky
over the glittering grandstand of harbor-water,
     pl ease come flying.

Whistles, pennants and smoke are blowing. The ships
are signaling cordially with multitudes of flags
rising and falling like birds all over the harbor.
Enter: two rivers, gracefully bearing
countless little pellucid jellies
in cut-glass epergnes dragging with silver chains.
The flight is safe; the weather is all arranged.
The waves are running in verses this fine morning.
     Please come flying.

Come with the pointed toe of each black shoe
trailing a sapphire highlight,
with a black capeful of butterfly wings and bon-mots,
with heaven knows how many angels all riding
on the broad black brim of your hat,
     please come flying.

Bearing a musical inaudible abacus,
a slight censorious frown, and blue ribbons,
     please come flying.
Facts and skyscrapers glint in the tide; Manhattan
is all awash with morals this fine morning,
     so please come flying.

Mounting the sky with natural heroism,
above the accidents, above the malignant movies,
the taxicabs and injustices at large,
while horns are resounding in your beautiful ears
that simultaneously listen to
a soft uninvented music, fit for the musk deer,
     please come flying.

For whom the grim museums will behave
like courteous male bower-birds,
for whom the agreeable lions lie in wait
on the steps of the Public Library,
eager to rise and follow through the doors
up into the reading rooms,
     please come flying.
We can sit down and weep; we can go shopping,
or play at a game of constantly being wrong

Free Like A Flying Demon

Im calling upon your attention
Now is the time, were talking serious redemption
Come follow me
Red light wasnt warning when I first saw her body move
I wasnt sure it was a jet stall.
I thought I had it all, now I am down and low
Memories on the wall, I have to let it go...
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life
Why cant you see into the future?
Youre going to get hurt by someone who wont suit ya
They call it your destiny
But I am pretty sure now
That one whos lonely cant get hurt / is getting stronger
I thought I had it all, now I am down and low
Memories on the wall, I have to let it go...
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life
Someday it might just work but this aint that time
This grounded flight is taking off, Ill leave you behind
Im free like....a demon....no more of them filthy lies
Just free like....a demon....this is the day of my life
Im free like....a demon....no more of them filthy lies
Just free like....a demon....this is the day of my life
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life
Im free like a flying demon, no more of them filthy lies
Just free like a flying demon, this is the day of my life

Flying To My Home

The sun is fading in the west
Out where the cattle roam
Im like a bird at the end of the day
Flying to my home
Im flying to my home sweet majesty
Im flying to my home
The sky is like a painted flag
Above a sea of chrome
Ive got a woman living in my life
Living in my home
Im flying to my home sweet majesty
Im flying to my home
I havent been back for so long
I dont know if Im going to recognise it
They gave the old place a new face
And Im going to take some time
To size the situation up
I havent been back for so long
I dont know if Im going to recognise it
They gave the old place a new face
And Im going to take some time
To size the situation up
The sun is fading in the west
Out where the cattle roam
Ive got a woman living in my life
Living in my home
Im flying to my home sweet majesty
Im flying to my home
Im flying to my home
Im flying to my home

Flying

D. mccafferty/p. agnew/d. sweet/m. charlton
Here I am flying
Looking down at mother earth below
Above me only blue skies
Below me is a cotton candy world
Here I am dreaming
Plane Im on flies gently as a bird
Captain said something
But I never heard single word
Here I am flying
Look above you
Ill be watching you
Maybe you wont see me
But soon Ill be flying
Soon Ill be flying home to you
Gazing at the sunrise
Homeland sure looks green far down below
Now were almost landed
I can see the hostess by the door
Here I am flying
Look above you
Ill be watching you
Maybe you wont see me
But soon Ill be flying
Soon Ill be flying home to you
Wont be long till I see
Bridges on our river
Looking at the old familiar lights
Wont be long till well be
Making up for countless sleepless nights
Here I am flying
Looking down at mother earth below
Above me only blue skies
Below me is a cotton candy world
Here I am flying
Look above you
Ill be watching you
Maybe you wont see me
But soon Ill be flying
Soon Ill be flying home to you

Earth Is...

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

And when it flew through the universe.
It didn't make a sound...
As it moved so quick with speed.

And when it flew through the universe.
It wasn't without those far viewed planets we see.

Earth is...
What's inside you,
And me!

Earth is...
What's inside you,
And me!

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

You've been riding on the back of a flying horse.
And I'll explain that the best way that I can.

Ever Dream Of Flying

Ever dream of flying,
With my arms spread out,
And my feet behind me.
I fly like I have done so a million times,
In different dreams and different times.

Ever dream of flying,
Seeing the city bellow.
The houses all lit in the night,
People looking out their windows.

Ever dream of flying,
One minute flying past vast cities.
The next moment I am flying past mountains,
And then Back to my house, my home.

Ever dream of flying,
That it seems so odd not to fly when you wake.
It seems the dream was real and this world,
Was not so real at all.

Ever dream of flying,
Swooping low to help a loved one.
Flying fast to do the heroic thing,
Saving a dear one from catastrophe,
Like a movie, but only a dream.

Ever dream of flying,
Or am I the only dreamer that flies,
Fleeting past new cities,
Seeing the sights by night and by day,
Flying like in a dream.

Takes me high like an angel

If I could wish a star
I'd never forget your smile
That takes me high like an angel
Flying, flying, flying

The weather didn't pass up
You said you were the rain's tear
You said you never fell in love
That it was your bigger fear

Seeing an angel so precious
I wonder how could it be possible
You said you hurt a lot by it
That your heart became unbreakble

If I could wish the moon
I'd never go so soon
You take me high like an angel
Can it be possible?
If I could wish a star
I'd be with you same far
You take me high like an angel
Flying, flying, flying...

The weather cried loud for me
You said you were the rain's tear
You said you wouldn't recieve
You said it and passed so many year...

Seeing a face so cute
I wonder if you don't want my love
Then I noticed I was nude
You were crying like for my drug

If I could wish the sun
I would take you to more fun
You take me high like an angel
Can it be possible?
If I could love you more
I wouldn't close the door
You take me high like an angel
Flying...
If I could wish again the rain
I would take off all your pain
You take me...
If I could be here more a day
I'd never go away
I'd be here to listen you say
'I love you, don't go'
You take me high like an angel

He Will Never Leave Me Alone

Flying higher and higher
Trying to tear down my sails
But let me tell you, you will fail.
With everything I have I'm still holding on
I'm not scared, but I just don't know if I'm that strong.

This is my home
Every night
Every day
So just walk the other way
I will not welcome you in with open arms

Flying higher and higher
Trying to tear down my sails
But let me tell you, you will fail.
With everything I have I'm still holding on
I'm not scared, but I just don't know if I'm that strong.

You have lied to me yet again
I tell you right now, I just don't want hear it anymore
So sick of it, and you.
I will no longer be used.
I don't care what you do.

Flying higher and higher
Trying to tear down my sails
But let me tell you, you will fail.
With everything I have I'm still holding on
I'm not scared, but I just don't know if I'm that strong.

Spread your rumors
Tell them with the thickness of all your fairy tales
My girl friend broke up with me because of them.
So what else can you do man.
Humiliation just goes so far.

Flying higher and higher
Trying to tear down my sails
But let me tell you, you will fail.
With everything I have I'm still holding on
I'm not scared, but I just don't know if I'm that strong.

You dead and gone to me.
All you did out of jealousy.
Why because I don't have to lie to her.
Why because I don't have to cheat.
A breach of integrity

Flying higher and higher
Trying to tear down my sails

The Flying-Fish Sailor

'The Western Ocean rolls and roars
From Sandy Hook to Europe's shores,
From Fastnet Light to Portland, Maine,
And Newport News and back again,
With Boston, Salem, Montreal,
And plenty o' ports both large and small,
And them that like may keep 'em all,
Not me,' says the flying-fish sailor.

The Western Ocean roars and rolls
With all its deeps and all its shoals
And many a thundering wintry gale,
And many a storm of rain and hail,
And let who likes have sleet and snow,
And driving fog and drifting floe,
For South away and Eastward Ho!
Is the road for the flying-fish sailor.

In Blackwall Dock she is moored,
Her hatches on and her stores aboard,
In Blackwall Dock she lies to-day,
And she will sail when the morning's grey
For Sunda Strait and Singapore,
And Palembang and plenty more,
And many a swarming Eastern shore
That's known to the flying-fish sailor.

The girls they'll cry and the lads'll shout
When the blooming tugboat warps her out:
We'll drop the pilot off the Nore
With fond farewells to take ashore
To mothers, wives and sweethearts too -
Love to Sally and love to Sue -
And that's the last for a year or two
You'll see of the flying-fish sailor.

We'll drop the tug and we'll bear away
Down the Channel, across the Bay;
The Western Isles we'll leave behind
And make the Line with the good Trade wind:
We'll see the dolphins sport and play,
(And haul our yards ten times a day),
While South'ard still we beat our way,
The way of the flying-fish sailor.

And forty south when we have passed,
Her easting down she runs at last,
Where the white whale swims in the far South Sea,
And the brave West winds blow full and free:
The good old winds they bluster and blow

Im Flying

Ive crossed the river, and I mean to go far
Im heading out on the ocean, alone, invincible
I know, in my mind, where I go, I wanna see it all
While I can, here I come, hear me say
Once in a lifetime
Follow the moonshine
Once in a lifetime
Come with me
Im flying, high up in the sky
Where it all makes sense
Im flying, youre the reason why
I am here now
Im flying, high up in the sky
Where it all makes sense
Im flying, youre the reason why
Im here
Im a juggernaut, Im blinded by the sun, this is it
Far away, there is no second chance
Im on my way, all aboard for the ride
I am already here so you cant leave me behind
Hear me say
Once in a lifetime
Follow the moonshine
Once in a lifetime
Come with me
Im flying, high up in the sky
Where it all makes sense
Im flying, youre the reason why
I am here now
Im flying, high up in the sky
Where it all makes sense
Im flying, youre the reason why
Im here

The Aeneid of Virgil: Book 10

THE GATES of heav’n unfold: Jove summons all
The gods to council in the common hall.
Sublimely seated, he surveys from far
The fields, the camp, the fortune of the war,
And all th’ inferior world. From first to last, 5
The sov’reign senate in degrees are plac’d.
Then thus th’ almighty sire began: “Ye gods,
Natives or denizens of blest abodes,
From whence these murmurs, and this change of mind,
This backward fate from what was first design’d? 10
Why this protracted war, when my commands
Pronounc’d a peace, and gave the Latian lands?
What fear or hope on either part divides
Our heav’ns, and arms our powers on diff’rent sides?
A lawful time of war at length will come, 15
(Nor need your haste anticipate the doom),
When Carthage shall contend the world with Rome,
Shall force the rigid rocks and Alpine chains,
And, like a flood, come pouring on the plains.
Then is your time for faction and debate, 20
For partial favor, and permitted hate.
Let now your immature dissension cease;
Sit quiet, and compose your souls to peace.”
Thus Jupiter in few unfolds the charge;
But lovely Venus thus replies at large: 25
“O pow’r immense, eternal energy,
(For to what else protection can we fly?)
Seest thou the proud Rutulians, how they dare
In fields, unpunish’d, and insult my care?
How lofty Turnus vaunts amidst his train, 30
In shining arms, triumphant on the plain?
Ev’n in their lines and trenches they contend,
And scarce their walls the Trojan troops defend:
The town is fill’d with slaughter, and o’erfloats,
With a red deluge, their increasing moats. 35
Æneas, ignorant, and far from thence,
Has left a camp expos’d, without defense.
This endless outrage shall they still sustain?
Shall Troy renew’d be forc’d and fir’d again?
A second siege my banish’d issue fears, 40
And a new Diomede in arms appears.
One more audacious mortal will be found;
And I, thy daughter, wait another wound.
Yet, if with fates averse, without thy leave,
The Latian lands my progeny receive, 45
Bear they the pains of violated law,
And thy protection from their aid withdraw.
But, if the gods their sure success foretell;
If those of heav’n consent with those of hell,
To promise Italy; who dare debate 50

The Aeneid of Virgil: Book 11

SCARCE had the rosy Morning rais’d her head
Above the waves, and left her wat’ry bed;
The pious chief, whom double cares attend
For his unburied soldiers and his friend,
Yet first to Heav’n perform’d a victor’s vows: 5
He bar’d an ancient oak of all her boughs;
Then on a rising ground the trunk he plac’d,
Which with the spoils of his dead foe he grac’d.
The coat of arms by proud Mezentius worn,
Now on a naked snag in triumph borne, 10
Was hung on high, and glitter’d from afar,
A trophy sacred to the God of War.
Above his arms, fix’d on the leafless wood,
Appear’d his plumy crest, besmear’d with blood:
His brazen buckler on the left was seen; 15
Truncheons of shiver’d lances hung between;
And on the right was placed his corslet, bor’d;
And to the neck was tied his unavailing sword.
A crowd of chiefs inclose the godlike man,
Who thus, conspicuous in the midst, began: 20
“Our toils, my friends, are crown’d with sure success;
The greater part perform’d, achieve the less.
Now follow cheerful to the trembling town;
Press but an entrance, and presume it won.
Fear is no more, for fierce Mezentius lies, 25
As the first fruits of war, a sacrifice.
Turnus shall fall extended on the plain,
And, in this omen, is already slain.
Prepar’d in arms, pursue your happy chance;
That none unwarn’d may plead his ignorance, 30
And I, at Heav’n’s appointed hour, may find
Your warlike ensigns waving in the wind.
Meantime the rites and fun’ral pomps prepare,
Due to your dead companions of the war:
The last respect the living can bestow, 35
To shield their shadows from contempt below.
That conquer’d earth be theirs, for which they fought,
And which for us with their own blood they bought;
But first the corpse of our unhappy friend
To the sad city of Evander send, 40
Who, not inglorious, in his age’s bloom,
Was hurried hence by too severe a doom.”
Thus, weeping while he spoke, he took his way,
Where, new in death, lamented Pallas lay.
Acoetes watch’d the corpse; whose youth deserv’d 45
The father’s trust; and now the son he serv’d
With equal faith, but less auspicious care.
Th’ attendants of the slain his sorrow share.
A troop of Trojans mix’d with these appear,
And mourning matrons with dishevel’d hair. 50

The Aeneid of Virgil: Book 12

WHEN Turnus saw the Latins leave the field,
Their armies broken, and their courage quell’d,
Himself become the mark of public spite,
His honor question’d for the promis’d fight;
The more he was with vulgar hate oppress’d, 5
The more his fury boil’d within his breast:
He rous’d his vigor for the last debate,
And rais’d his haughty soul to meet his fate.
As, when the swains the Libyan lion chase,
He makes a sour retreat, nor mends his pace; 10
But, if the pointed jav’lin pierce his side,
The lordly beast returns with double pride:
He wrenches out the steel, he roars for pain;
His sides he lashes, and erects his mane:
So Turnus fares; his eyeballs flash with fire, 15
Thro’ his wide nostrils clouds of smoke expire.
Trembling with rage, around the court he ran,
At length approach’d the king, and thus began:
“No more excuses or delays: I stand
In arms prepar’d to combat, hand to hand, 20
This base deserter of his native land.
The Trojan, by his word, is bound to take
The same conditions which himself did make.
Renew the truce; the solemn rites prepare,
And to my single virtue trust the war. 25
The Latians unconcern’d shall see the fight;
This arm unaided shall assert your right:
Then, if my prostrate body press the plain,
To him the crown and beauteous bride remain.”
To whom the king sedately thus replied: 30
“Brave youth, the more your valor has been tried,
The more becomes it us, with due respect,
To weigh the chance of war, which you neglect.
You want not wealth, or a successive throne,
Or cities which your arms have made your own: 35
My towns and treasures are at your command,
And stor’d with blooming beauties is my land;

Flying V

Flying V
If you're standing underneath it, you will see when you inspect it
That a flying V is made of flying geese
The pointed end flies in the lead
So when it flies, it's hard to read
You've got to tip your head to see
Flying V, Flying V
It's a V
In the window of a music store, or on stage at a rock show
Now a flying V is made of a guitar
The pointed end flies in the lead
So when it flies, it's hard to read
You have to be upside-down to see it

Little Butterfly

I saw a little butterfly
Flying By to say Hi
Flying among the field of green
Admiring the Beautiful Stream

I saw the little butterfly
flying high, so high up into the sky
High above the garden green
covering the suns yellow beam

Flying all day
Flying all night
Flying into the beautiful Moonlight
