The old man and his wife

The old man and his wife,
Lived at the end of the old street,
At the intersection of colour and life,
The intersection where smile and laughter would meet.

Theirs was the most lovely couplet,
And oldest indeed the street had ever know,
But their love was as new as the water droplet,
Seen at the dawn….on grass fully grown.

Often…..he would fight with her,
So that she`d get angry with him,
So that he`d get to pamper her,
And then she`d blush and smile back at him….

Everything went on fine until,
That day………when everything changed,
The day his wife went motionless and still….
The day when…….it just rained…..

From then the old man was on his own,
Trying to get in terms with the loss…
Of the most beloved…..for long he`d know,
His life had now gone for a toss….

With red and water….filled eyes…..
He keeps looking here and there,
He keeps searching for his wife…..
In vain….he finds her no where...

What……..will now suffice? ?
For the loss of his true love knot?
He keeps…..missing his wife
His wife…..whom he loved a lot….

The slot of silence……now he has brought….
Endlessly he stands…..and weeps at her grave…
And also the next plot he has bought….
For besides her…he wishes to be laid…

Im Not The Man

[ merchant ]
[ bassoons: kim laskowski & atsuko sato ]
It crawls on his back, wont ever let him be.
Stares at the walls until the cinder blocks can breathe.
His eyes have gone away, escaping over time.
He rules a crowded nation inside his mind.
He knows that night like his hand.
He knows every move he made.
Late shift, the bell that rang, a time card wont fade.
10:05 his truck pulled home.
10:05 he climbed his stair, about the time he was accused of being there.
But Im not the man.
He goes free as I wait on the row for the man to test the rope hell slip around my throat...
And silence me.
On the day he was tried no witnesses testified.
Nothing but evidence, not hard to falsify.
His own confession was a prosecutors prize,
Made up of fear, of rage and of outright lies.
But Im not the man.
He goes free as the candle vigil glows, as they burn my clothes.
As the crowd cries, hang him slow! and I feel my blood go cold, he goes free.
Call out the kkk, theyre wild after me.
And with that frenzied look of half-demented zeal,
Theyd love to serve me up my final meal.
Wholl read my final rite and hear my last appeal?
Who struck this devils deal?

An Old Man Medicates His Pains Away

AN OLD MAN MEDICATES HIS PAINS AWAY

An old man medicates his pains away
He wants to live in his mind
As if his body can be temporarily forgotten-
He tries to be as he once was
Easy in the skin of himself -

But the pains the pains the pains
They come from different directions
They interrupt they remind they dismay
The pains the pains
They may go away for a time
But they don’t forget to sharpen again-

An old man does not want to think of his body as his enemy
He is no pure mind and does not dream to be
But the pains
When so many come at once
And when no medication can really put a stop to them-
They will defeat him -

Drugged into restless sleep
He will not be able to die without them.

What Hope For Man When His Time Is Spend

(in answer to Sally-Ann Murray)

What hope for man when his time is spend,
when life nears its end?
Life has rushed by
and now the journey is almost done,

but the big waves still rush,
as the race of life is still on
and although not yet near to despair,
but in disrepair but not beyond loving care,

shattered the boat rides the streaming sea
heaving up and down, still sailing right into the storm
with the tiller man peering
at a cloud filled sky, praying that his course is true

with no time to contemplate,
but only to react to face the sea,
to try and weather the storm
until the storm breaks and spent he reaches endless tranquillity.

No Man In His Wrong Heart

(trey bruce/ronnie rogers)
On the inside flap of a matchbook cover
She made me the kind of offer
That no man in a weak state could outrun
I tried to think what a gentleman would say
Turnin that kind of opportunity away
I tried my best to tell her Im not the right one
Like no man in his wrong heart wouldve done
I said no maam
Like no man wouldve said if he wasnt in love
With you the way I am
It couldve been easy for me to be a gooner
But something a whole lot stronger made me run
Like no man in his wrong heart wouldve done.
Didnt want her to think that I wasnt flattered
Her interest in me, believe me it mattered
So I dropped several quarters in the old jukebox
I said I want you to dance all night on me
In a lucky mans arrms
Whoever he might be
Then I hit that door like I was shot from a gun
Like no man in his wrong heart wouldve done

An Old Man With His Hat

There Little Robbie found him in an old yellow album
A blurred picture of a half old man with his hat
Standing in front of the coffin
He smiles shy but wide with his teeth gone making a hole like Little Robbie when he lose his baby teeth
Little Robbie doesn’t recognize him and he wonder where he is now
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
So he asks to his big sister
But his sister doesn’t recognize him and she wonder who he is
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
So he asks to his mother
But his mother doesn’t recognize him and she wonder how he was there
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
So he asks to his father
But his father doesn’t recognize him and he wonder what he did there
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
So he asks to his uncle
But his uncle doesn’t recognize him and he wonder when the picture taken
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
So he asks hopelessly to his grandfather
His grandfather takes a deep look to that picture and wonders why Little Robbie asks
Little Robbie says, “I want to meet him! I want to know about him! I want to play with him! ”
Maybe he is one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
But his grandfather shakes his head, “No, he is not.”
He is not one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
He is just an old man with his hat
“He accompanied your great grandfather when he sick until his death. This picture is taken in a burial of your great grandfather.”
His grandfather stares at little Robbie
“Now, are you disappointed? ”
He is not one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
He is just an old man with his hat
Little Robbie shakes his head, “No, I am not.”
Though he is not one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families
Though he is just an old man with his hat
But I still want to meet him, I want to know about him, and I want to play with him! ”
And then he could be one of his grandfathers, one of his great uncles, one of his old families

Gallant man on his Journey...

Gallant man start his life...
On writing poems...
Walking a long Journey...
How, the wind speak to dead land...
How, the waves refresh it's stream...
Makes him regret home...
The place, virgin laughs...
The land, scholar writes...
A beginning of all journey...
How, the family argues...
How, love forms into manifest...
Makes gallant man start a journey...
But cherish my conflict of my home...
Walking an undefined journey

Stunning Countenance of His Wife

I don't seek this eternity of unhappiness,
I don't want to be an accountant keeping the record
Of my sources of distress.

I merely want to hear a woman's voice
At a theater or on a dance floor
And to simply be dazzled by her earrings and perfume,
To remain joyously for the night ecstatic in her room.

But I know my fate is not so auspicious,
I'm more likely to be shot or slapped in the face
By some nobler man properly enraged
That I lingered too long with my eyes
Upon the stunning countenance of his wife.

Does Man Create His Gods?

Does man create his gods or do gods create themselves in likeness to man?
Was it not death that fist stirred in man a curiosity of his greater self?
Was it not death and knowing our loved ones and enemies to fall into the dust
That caused us to pray and pour libations in there honour?
Was it not the unknown that caused man in curiosity that would make
Alice proud, to ponder the shades of his intellect in an attempt to shed light
Upon a truth concealed within the looking glass ripples of fresh water springs?

He's A Man of His Word

He contemplates life
In general who people are
Or what things are
What is it all about?

He likes to learn
From those of us
With knowledge
Of the here and now
And of the past

He taps away
At his keyboard
As he reads
As he writes
And discovered
To his knowledge
That it helps him
To be a better man

His words are immaculate
Even words I've never heard
But when he writes his poetry
It has meaning to each word

The man is so humble
On what he writes
On what he feels
And on how he preserves others
And their words

I bow to thee Kevin Patrick
Who is a man?
Of his every word

inspiration ***** I AM NOT THE MAN OF FAILURE

Don’t say I am undoer
Don’t tell I didn’t try
I have many endeavors
Success not yet reply

Don’t think I’m just a dreamer
A man who wants to fly
Across heavenly castle
Without single step I try

I am not the man of great loss
I am not the one you think
But yes I am arisen
From chaotic world of pain

I am not the man of failure
Nor the man of success too
I am in midst of challenges
Fighting hindrance foe

I am not the man of failure
‘cause I give up not nor quit
I am in sweat and labor
Struggling learn to wait

I melt hundred candles
Spark in countless nights
With one dedicated heart
For my course as guiding light

Now my striving years are long
So quite long of time
Seems a lifetime journey
Till success crowns along my way…..

The Man Rides His Horse

To snare a thought from the deeper mind
Carries a message for the young and old;
This avalanche of my desire is created
By the acts that are mastered by the few.

Then philosophers force their barrels of beer,
The thin men are of the public orders,
The thick men are short and about the aorta
Of the heart, for they are essential beings.

Balanced minds recreate for the majority,
The puzzles are torn into fragments,
Denials are afraid of denials,
And forces are like whole avalanches.

Towards the city a man rides his horse,
They gallop, but he races for his force
Is about the traps in a society,
Fully the society is relentless.

A mind reacts relaxed, with the worst worries,
This agile mind of anger, shall ask for incidents;
The same acts of mine are afoot
With an art of rest - that is the fastest remedy.

Im Not That Man Anymore

Teardrops, falling from your eyes like raindrops,
Pouring from the skies,
Remember, you used to have the love I needed, back when we were young
Lovin always came so easy, heaven shared our love,
Magic, the first time that I held you, you fit like a glove.
Youd soothe me, with a shrug of your heart you could move me,
It always seemed my love would find you, when you needed a friend
I would be the man who would understand you,
*but Im not that man anymore,
And Im not gonna throw my heart away,
No, thats not me anymore,
Baby Ive changed. *
One look is all it took to tell me your love was made of lies,
Madness to think that I believed your reasons, your alibis,
The day girl, when I turned to look the other way girl,
I realized the game you were playin was breakin my heart,
I can see it plainly, time has changed me.
( * repeat)

Let the man get his money

Throughout all my life, I tried to act smart
And once, I was driving in a golf cart
With a partner who seemed a little retard
Who was always protected by a bodyguard

I was young and bold, he was old and lame
When he lost in golf, he challenged me for another game
A game of poker, baccarat, roulette
With a gun to my head, I couldn’t say net*

I knew the dices were loaded, from the start
It’s not just the money that were at stake
The old dude wanted to steal my soul
I didn’t have right for a single mistake

Despite the odds I won in his game
He was upping the ante, all the same
Blackjack,3 cards and finally – crap
Yet, he failed to catch me in his devilish trap

My guardian angel was too strong for him
It defeated the old piranha
He waived to his goons and uttered the words:
Let the man get his money…

I'm Not The Man I Used To Be (Jazzie B & Nellee Hooper Version)

When I'm in trouble or out of step
If my balance has been upset
Oh there's a feeling I can't accept
There's one thing that helps me to forget
Wonder what I'm thinking
Wonder why I'm drinking
But it's plain to see
I'm not the man I used to be
If life were easy and didn't ask,
didn't tease me or take things back
I'd just start to understand,
what makes me the man I am
Wonder what I'm thinking
Wonder why I'm drinking
But it's plain to see
I'm not the man I used to be
Oh it's plain and it's a shame
I'm not the man I used to be
I've lost dreams that won't come back
memories fading fast
I should save the ones I have
What's the use, most of them are bad
Wonder what I'm thinking
Wonder why I'm drinking
But it's plain to see
I'm not the man I used to be
Oh it's plain and it's a shame
I can't explain
But I'm not the man I used to be
Oh it's plain and it's a shame
I can't explain
But I'm not the man I used to be

I Saw A Man & He Danced With His Wife

I was by myself drinkin
Chilled lonely wine
Then he walked in with some woman
Whos place was once mine
And she wore his ring on her finger
And the band began a song
Id heard before
Chorus:
I saw a man and he danced with his wife
How I wished he was dancing with me
cause I remember before
When we danced on this floor
His eyes were only on me
Where did I go wrong
They were playin our song
While I was cryin all night long
I kept watchin as they dance so divine
I kept hopin kept on lookin
But I couldnt catch his eye
Oh, then he got up and he saw me
But he just walked right on by
And danced with her
Chorus
Where did I go wrong
They were playin our song
While I was cryin all night long
Two weeks later
I heard a knock on my door
Hes back
Just like all those good time before
Ah, then he kissed me
And he told me
I left her cause I love you,
So much more than I knew
Chorus
I saw a man and he danced with his wife

The blind man and his dog

Excuse me, excuse me
Make way, he heard a voice say

The blind man and his dog
walked along his way
His one and only companion
for friends he had none

The blind man spoke
When I think about life
I like to slice it with a knife

We hold on to it tight
for this thing called life, right!

We battle and fight
for this thing called life, right!

behold I'm a man without sight
deprived of the colour of daylight
I have no anger, I have no right
As I live free of fright
Treasuring the fact I'm alive

I have no vision of black or white
Do not stress over my plight
I am the blind man with his dog
At night I sleep like a log
The earth is my rug
The air is my drug
with or without the nightly fog

I have a vision of beauty
of love and thruth
I have perfect immunity
of material wealth
I have appreciation
of good health

I am the blind man with his dog
I am thankful of all simple things
What joy they do bring!

A Man And His Woman...

A Man And His Woman, Holds Each Other
A Man And His Woman, Best Friends & Lovers
Sticking Closer, Than All Newcomers
Taking On, All Confronters

A Man And His Woman, So Beautiful
A Woman And Her Man, So Dutiful
Bound Up, Believing, Flesh, Blood and Breath
Blended Fidelity, Even Unto Death

Man Holds To His Side, His Rib-Bone
Facing A Future, That May Be Hard As Stone
Woman, Looks To Her Man, To Continue The Trail
Helping Where She Can, Even If He Fell

She … Enhances His Masculinity
He … Empowers Her Identity
She … Caresses and Smoothes The Edges
He … Lifts Her Up To Mountain Ridges

A Man And His Woman, So Unique
Yet, One Without The Other, Is Not Complete
He Takes The Lead, In The Dance Of Life
For There’s No Rehearsal, This Is Live …

Step By Step, Side By Side
Even Now, Its One, Wild, Sweet, Ride
Of Desires And Dreams, Always Aspiring
To What Man And His Woman Are Promising

Together, They Are A Wondrous Team
Together, They Are ‘As One’ In Being
Of Physical Creation, They Can’t Be Bested

God, Made Man And Woman … and Rested …
