Van Morrison

Being famous was extremely disappointing for me. When I became famous it was a complete drag and it is still a complete drag.

Disappointing Daughter

Meet their disappointing daughter,
with her disappointing ways.
They would oh-so-love to humour her,
but it really never pays.
What's wrong with that girl, anyway?
She's always in a daze.
Why won't she join in with their games?
Her brother always plays.
It's not that they're ashamed of her -
but some of her displays -
and, let's face it, in public, too...
Such a disappointing daughter:
imperfect;
human;
got drunk when younger;
went out with a few dodgy blokes,
when younger -
such a disappointing daughter,
with her disappointing - unforgivably
disappointing - ways.

On The Drag

Youre only happy when youre sad
Youre top fueled and youre bad
Parachute in your back pack and
Your knees under your chin
And your boyfriends getting mad
At all the time you waste
Trying to put your finger on it
The allure of st. marks place
On the drag, on the drag
Youre all waiting round for something
And its never coming back
On the drag, on the drag
Its a genuine disaster
And its come to make you king
On the drag
I wont die until Im dead,
Are the first words that he said
Dont try to interrupt him,
cause hes never gonna stop
And the time is standing still
With all this time to kill
And Im trying to walk away
From 1st avenue to a
On the drag, on the drag
Its a genuine disaster
And weve crowned him with his crown
On the drag, on the drag
Were all waiting round for something
And its never coming back
On the drag, on the drag
Were all waiting round for something
And its never coming back
On the drag, on the drag
Were all waiting for disaster
And we crowned him with his crown
On the drag

Murph Drag

Fellas (yeah), I'm back (back) {fade in}
The aristocratic black (black)
My whip ain't got no crack (crack)
But it got a hell of a bang (hell of a bang)
Fellas (yeah), I'm back (back)
The aristocratic black (black)
My whip ain't got no crack (crack)
But it got a hell of a bang (it's got a hell of a bang)
(What time is it?) {repeat in song)
(Come on) {repeat "777-9311" sample in song}
Everybody get ready
We got a brand new groove
Everybody cold listen
I'm gonna show U what 2 do
Kick your left on the beat y'all
Drag the other one behind
If U really wanna be hip
Then stick out your bottom lip
Now U're jammin' fine
CHORUS:
Murph Drag - Only people with money can do this dance
Can do this dance
Murph Drag - My bank roll's gettin' heavy
My bank roll's gettin' heavy in my pants
Murph Drag - Aristocratic dreams, aristocratic dreams
All the fine ladies scream
Murph Drag - Only people with money can do this dance
Can do this dance
Ho! (Murph...)
Count it
They can't mess with U, M.D. (...Drag)
Put it up
Go'n my brotha, tell 'em what time it is
Everybody get ready
We got a brand new cool
Everybody cold listen
I'm gonna show U what 2 do
But U can't talk 2 pinnacles
U can't talk 2 a gun
We are building up a brand new nation
Business is on the floor
CHORUS
(Put it up)
(We hittin', we hittin')
(Murph Drag) {repeat in BG}
I got a PhD in common sense
Can't nobody mess with me
The original jam operator
I could sell a forest trees (Yount!)
U dance 2 hard, baby (Go'n and tell her Morris)

Life Is A Drag

Submitted for your inspection
The evolutionary erection
Of primitive man
But before we explore the question of his sense of style
We must point out his predilection
To cover his glands
Brothers, weve been led to believe
That between adam and eve
There was nothing to hide
Were it not for eves primal haste
Or a leaf strategically placed
Who knows what shed decide
Eve and some guy named clyde
Thats why life is a drag
Life is just a pose in a rag
You can play the part of
Pusher or pastor
Of harlot or hag
Life is just a dressing game
Life is a drag
The argument can be rendered
All bodies are forcibly gendered
By how they are wrapped
And though popular opinion holds this
Makes us civilized
So much deference is attended
By whats in ones lap
History proves that
Who wears the pants is as much a mere circumstance
As a matter of time
Ultimately, why should we care
Where one buys ones lace underwear
If one is so inclined
Show me yours, Ill show mine
Thats why life is a drag
Fashion is a long running gag
We can deck you out in sequins or spandex
A mohawk or shag
Who remembers unisex?
Life is a drag
Its a drag
What a drag
You can be a stag in a bag
They wont know until youre stiff
On a slab and they look at the tag
What you see is what you get
Life is a drag
Lets just say
We hereby conspire
That a change of attire

Doll-dagga buzz-buzz ziggety-zag
God mod grotesque burlesque drag
Doll-dagga buzz-buzz ziggety-zag
God mod grotesque burlesque drag
All the goose step girlies with their cursive faces and
We know it's all braile beneath their skirt
I'm bulletproof biz-op and swing heil and
I don't really care what gentlemen prefer
Say all you pindown girls and bonafied ballers
So manically depressed and manically dressed
We got a venus not in furs but in uniforms
If you're not dancing, then you're dead
Doll-dagga buzz-buzz ziggety-zag
God mod grotesque burlesque drag

You're one of us! You're one of us!
GO! GO! GO!
Throw your shapes, doppelgangers
You're one of us!
Trumpet mouth junky saints go silver tongue
Marching down the stairway to substance
Cocaingels and asses give me opiute masses
Fill up your church porn preachers and we'll fill up our glasses

Famous Groupies

All stand back, let the people see
Take a snap of the famous groupies for me
Behold the famous groupies
They are alike as two peas
And where the other goes, the other goes
But though the famous groupies
Are only paid in rupies
Nobody knows what the famous groupies know
And nobody goes where the famous groupies go
There was a bango player
Who kept an extra layer
Of dunlopillo mattress in his van
But when the famous groupies
Arived with their twin snoopies
Nobody saw which way the poor boy ran
Nobody does it like a famous groupie can
All stand back, let the people see
Take a snap of the famous groupies for me
There was a lead guitarist
Who lived in epping forest
And all he ever wanted was to blow
When the girls were with him
He never lost his rhythm
And nobody knows what the famous groupies know
Nobody goes where the famous groupies go
There was a classic story
Of a roadic nicknamed rory
Who used to practice voodoo on the side
When the famous twosome
Suggested something gruesome
All that they found was a crater two miles wide
Which left the music business absolutely horrified
Ladies and gentlemen, those magnificent examples of
Female pulchritude and luminosity, direct from their
Global perambulations to the very boards of this
Supremely magnificent proscenium arch - ladies and
Gentlemen; I give you famous groupies!

Canto the Sixth

I
"There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, -- taken at the flood," -- you know the rest,
And most of us have found it now and then;
At least we think so, though but few have guess'd
The moment, till too late to come again.
But no doubt every thing is for the best --
Of which the surest sign is in the end:
When things are at the worst they sometimes mend.

II
There is a tide in the affairs of women
Which, taken at the flood, leads -- God knows where:
Those navigators must be able seamen
Whose charts lay down its current to a hair;
Not all the reveries of Jacob Behmen
With its strange whirls and eddies can compare:
Men with their heads reflect on this and that --
But women with their hearts on heaven knows what!

III
And yet a headlong, headstrong, downright she,
Young, beautiful, and daring -- who would risk
A throne, the world, the universe, to be
Beloved in her own way, and rather whisk
The stars from out the sky, than not be free
As are the billows when the breeze is brisk --
Though such a she's a devil (if that there be one),
Yet she would make full many a Manichean.

IV
Thrones, worlds, et cetera, are so oft upset
By commonest ambition, that when passion
O'erthrows the same, we readily forget,
Or at the least forgive, the loving rash one.
If Antony be well remember'd yet,
'T is not his conquests keep his name in fashion,
But Actium, lost for Cleopatra's eyes,
Outbalances all Caesar's victories.

V
He died at fifty for a queen of forty;
I wish their years had been fifteen and twenty,
For then wealth, kingdoms, worlds are but a sport -- I
Remember when, though I had no great plenty
Of worlds to lose, yet still, to pay my court, I
Gave what I had -- a heart: as the world went, I
Gave what was worth a world; for worlds could never
Restore me those pure feelings, gone forever.

Drag

Ah..
You're so sexy when you drive so glad
You're alive empty
If I were you I'd drive on
If I were you
All alone in the city, Love is blind
All alone in the city (in the sunrise) love's a fight
I don't care baby tell me what to do
Drive me, oh drag me down to you
Drag me, oh drag me down to you
Ahh.. ah..
You're so sexy when you drive so glad
You're alive in the rest of me
What you'd do I'd drive on
What you take
If I were you I'd drag
What are you?
All alone in the city, Love is blind
I don't care baby tell me what to do
I'll never ever dump you
Drag me, oh drag me into you
Drag me, oh drag me down to you
Drag me, oh drag me down to you
I pity all of you tonight
I pity everyone
I pity everyone alive
I pity all of you alive
I pity everyone
I pity everyone alive
Drive all the way to Malibu
Drive all the way to Malibu
Drop everything that wasn't you
Drive all the way to Malibu
Drop every dime that wasn't you
I pity everyone tonight
I pity everyone
I pity all of you tonight

Shes Famous Now

Ive got the measles and she got the mumps
Im sick of waiting by the door in case she comes home
You wont believe it but dont you want to know
I let her go but I cant let her go
I dont wanna hear it
Im singin too high tonight, Im gonna lose my voice
I heard her on the radio dont want to sing along, but Ive got no choice
She used to be my girl but now shes famous (shes famous now)
She used to be my girl but now she is famous (shes famous now)
She was just so sweet and now theyre fallin at her feet
She used to be my girl but now shes-
I eat the muscle and she eats the leaves
High cholesterol and heart disease yea
Youll never touch the way that I feel
Just for the record she got the deal
I dont wanna hear it
Im saying goodbye tonight, I just cant stand the noise
Shes signin autographs, dont wanna say I know her but Ive got no choice
She used to be my girl but now shes famous (shes famous now)
She used to be my girl but now shes famous (shes famous now)
She was just so sweet and now theyre fallin at her feet
She used to be my girl but now shes-
Well shes like me, just not as ugly
She used to be my girl but now shes famous (shes famous now)
She used to be my girl but now shes-
She was just so sweet
She was just so sweet
She was just so sweet and now theyre fallin at her feet

I Awakened Free of Alibis

I awakened free of alibis.
And dared to hear excuses made.
I felt the sensation that I had arrived.
And my eyes were cleared of my own limitations.
And dictated into accepting tricks,
With full acknowledgement of this...
Had ended.
And I knew I would be disappointing many people.

I awakened free of alibis.
And I knew I would be disappointing many people.
I dared to hear excuses made.
And I knew I would be disappointing many people.
I felt the sensation that I had arrived.

Had ended.
And I knew then I would be a disappointment,
To many people.

Stepped Out With A Greeting Of My Fate

I've stepped out with a greeting of my fate.
I've stepped out with a greeting of my fate.

Way pass mechanics,
With a seeing 'it' as it is...
And with examined antics that can panic,
Leaving those hopes on automatic...
Disappointing but coping,
With emotional deficits...
I feel I have an advantage.

Why bob for apples...
When from trees they can be picked.

Way pass mechanics and antics that can panic.

Why seek surprises...
From those hiding behind disguises.

No longer with automatic hopes,
To inspire lumps left in my throat.

I've stepped out with a greeting of my fate.
Disappointing but coping,
With emotional deficits to leave to learn...
It is my life I must face.

I've stepped out with a greeting of my fate.
Disappointing but coping,
With emotional deficits to leave to learn...
It is my life I must face.

Torture me,drag me under you

Time makes me sharp

Life is much to short to be a drag
Please treat me like I am a fallen angel
Surpress me,tell me lies

You can't tell me this

Wild Horses

Childhood living
It's easy to do
The things you wanted
I bought them for you
Graceless lady
You know who I am
You know I can't let you
Slide through my hand
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
I watched you suffer
A dull aching pain
Now you're decided
To treat me the same
No sweeping exits
Or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter
Or treat you unkind
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
I have my freedom
But I dont have much time
So let's do some living
After we die
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild horses
We want them someday

The next morning at the camp errand wolfe and rutherford stood frozen in awe as the famous mockingbird flew out of the sky and laid the helping friendly book at their feet. the quest for the book had dragged on for so many years that its sudden appearance left the men staring in disbelief, unsure of what their next move should be. the shock wore off quickly though, and errand wolfe shot into high gear. he snatched up the book with one hand and the famous mockingbird with the other, and began to inform rutherford of his plan. he would first kill wilson, and then put the helping friendly book to work for him.
With rutherfords aid he fastened the famous mockingbird to a pole, with glue and rubber bands, to insure the secrecy of his mission, and then set out to find the only man in gamehendge who could handle the job of eliminating a king.

It's Not What You Think

Lee Thompson Young: Well saving is the game,
Silverstone is the name... Secret Agent Status...
Day starts early and he's on the move
He has to have breakfast in his dressing room
Knock, knock 5 minutes to chew
Go to make up then it's time to hear,
Take 1, take 2 everybody's telling him what to do
It's a great big price to pay to be the man
So listen to what I have to say
It's not what you think when you see him roll
In the limo down the street baby you should know
That everything that glitters..it ain't gold.
(he's the famous Jett Jackson)
It's not what you think cuz when he's all alone
Reminices 'bout the past and he finds himself
Trying to go back home.
(he's the famous Jett Jackson)
He thinks about what he used to be back home
Everything was quiet, nothing really going on
Talking to his peeps on the telephone
Now his life has changed nothing is the same
He took it to the next level, now he's gotta keep it all together
It's not what you think when you see him roll
In the limo down the street baby you should know
That everything that glitters..it ain't gold.
(he's the famous Jett Jackson)
It's not what you think cuz when he's all alone
Reminices 'bout the past and he finds himself
Trying to go back home.
(he's the famous Jett Jackson)
(RAP) Silverstone is the code name
and if saving the world was a basketball game
only the stakes were higher
The only difference between me and MJ would be that I haven't yet retired
(still in the game)
Articles and track team the way that I inspire
Villans and thugs for hire to run like somebody set their socks on fire
Evil doers know by now to say,"aww man he's cocked his eyebrow
This cat's about to say goodbye now find a place to lie down
Duck and cover cuz he's sharper than a diamond cutter
Slicker than a stick of butter",
But even the best of the best can't work alone
So as far as sidekicks go Hawk's is one of the nicest and
Artimus supplies us with expensive and high tech devices
But in comparison my lop-sided grin is still priceless
The best secret agent that mankind knows...it's no mystery
It's not what you think when you see him roll
In the limo down the street baby you should know
That everything that glitters..it ain't gold.

Geronimo

I'm feeling kind of wild I have burned down a house
The pleasure is mine it may be sick and may be wrong
That's why I did it all on my own
Pain in my mind is for no one to find
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm the world famous Geronimo
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm a world famous man
The world has gone mad and I'm being bad
To all the people that is feeling sad
Scalps on the wall are the trophies I've made
From all the people that stood in my way
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm the world famous Geronimo
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm a world famous man
Someone once said that I'm acting strange
That someone ain't living no more
People get scared when I'm passing by
I am the man who brings fear in Your eyes
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm the world famous Geronimo
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm a world famous man
My journey began on the day I was born
Ever since then I've been hunted by a man
With a rifle and star he may give me a scare
Someday I promise to cut of his scalp
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm the world famous Geronimo
Geronimo, Geronimo
I'm a world famous man

A School Song

Prelude to "Stalky & Co."

"Let us now praise famous men"--
Men of little showing--
For their work continueth,
And their work continueth,
Broad and deep continues,
Greater then their knowing!

Western wind and open surge
Took us from our mothers--
Flung us on a naked shore
(Twelve bleak houses by the shore.
Seven summers by the shore! )
'Mid two hundred brothers.

There we met with famous men
Set in office o'er us;
And they beat on us with rods--
Faithfully with many rods--
Daily beat us on with rods,
For the love they bore us!

Out of Egypt unto Troy--
Over Himalaya--
Far and sure our bands have gone--
Hy-Brazil or Babylon,
Islands of the Southern Run,
And Cities of Cathaia!

And we all praise famous men--
Ancients of the College;
For they taught us common sense--
Tried to teach us common sense--
Truth and God's Own Common Sense,
Which is more than knowledge!

Each degree of Latitude
Strung about Creation
Seeth one or more of us
(Of one muster each of us),
Diligent in that he does,
Keen in his vocation.

This we learned from famous men,
Knowing not its uses,
When they showed, in daily work--
Man must finish off his work--
Right or wrong, his daily work--
