Upon The Journeys End

If you find hard times and troubles on the rock road ahead
If you find nothing but sorrow everytwhere you lay your head
No you wont fnd me a stranger
When you reall need a friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
When all the pain has you broken and there is no place to hide
When all your words have been spoken and theres nothing left inside
There I will be right beside you
I will cover you my friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
I will be strong
Ill help you carry on
When nothing and no one can stop us anymore
Oh oh oh
I will be there and I will always still say a prayer
After the mountains crumble
The stars and the moon and the sun all fade away
Oh when all your reasons for living have all but dissappeared
And when the boats youve been sailing you can no longer steer
There I will sail right behind you
On winds of love I sail
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
I can see a brighter day
I can see a better way
I can feel it coming very near
I feel like we belong
I can see whats right and whats wrong
Weve been waiting for so long now its here
If you find hard times and troubles on the rocky road ahead
If you find nothing but sorrow everywhere you lay your head
No you wont find me a stranger
When you really need a friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end

Journeys Traveled

I have traveled many places
from here to there almost every where
seen places and people, never thought i would
from army bases to castles to to the sands of a desert
peace time to war time and lonely times
traveled by planes, trains, buses, taxis, cars and foot
the splendid mountain to the sand dunes
extreme cold to the scorching heat
one thing I take from all these journeys
is remember to take in everything you can
the mind will absorb anything you want.
mental pictures of beautiful scenery, gorgeous people
crowds in the streets to the loneliest path
breathe taking ever so lasting
make every journey unique and interesting
fun and learning come hand in hand
the stories you can tell of past visits
they can be past down thru the family line
to show how much each journey meant to you
pictures tell a 1000 words, but stories bring it to life
imaginations can bring the journeys to everyone's mind
enjoy each one as we all take the many beautiful journeys thru life
my journeys all come back home with me
for i love to tell the story to everyone around
good or bad the stories are told
For to see you express a smile or a tear
brings joy to me, my journeys tales will always live

The supreme truths are neither the rigid conclusions of logical reasoning nor the affirmations of credal statement, but fruits of the soul's inner experience. Intellectual truth is only one of the doors to the outer precincts of the temple. And since intellectual truth turned towards the Infinite must be in its very nature many-sided and not narrowly one, the most varying intellectual beliefs can be equally true because they mirror different facets of the Infinite. However separated by intellectual distance, they still form so many side-entrances which admit the mind to some faint ray from a supreme Light. There are no true and false religions, but rather all religions are true in their own way and degree. Each is one of the thousand paths to the One Eternal.

Ode 1957: An intellectual

An intellectual is all the time showing off.

Lovers dissolve and become bewildered.

Intellectuals try not to drown,
while the whole purpose of loves
is drowning.

Intellectual invent
ways to rest, and then lie down~
in those beds.

Lovers feel ashamed
of comforting ideas.

You’ve seen a glob
of oil on water? That’s how a lover
sits with intellectuals, there, but alone
in a circle of himself.

Some intellectual
tries to give sound advice to a lover.

All he hears back is, I love you.

I love you.

Love is musk. Don’t deny it
when you smell the scent!

Love is a tree.

Lovers, the shade of the long branches.

To the intellectual mind, a child must learn
to grow up and be adult.

In the station of love,
you see old men getting younger and younger.

Shams chose to live low in the roots
for you. So now, he soars in the air
as you sublimely articulating love!

Dark Journeys Into Mind Passions

dark journeys
are not all tempest storms
tunnels of black
sudden devastating destructive
dark journeys
can be fog endless grey mists
mists of grey unending
swallowing ray hope’s dreams

dark forces seek
to break not just body muscles
dark forces seek
to break rule desolate shatter minds
dark journeys
shallowing ray hope’s dreams
mists of grey unending
minds of emotions tempest storms

how can we ever be alone
love of family journeys with us
love of friends journeys with us
even God journeys with us

I Know How The River Feels

(steven dale jones/amy powers)
(track 9 - time 3:40)
They say for everyone, theres that certain one
Out there, somewhere
Id been looking hard, searching every heart
Getting nowhere
Didnt know I was making my way to you
Now I know how the river feels
When it reaches the sea
And finally finds the place
It was always meant to be
Holding fast, home at last
Knowing the journeys through
Lying here with you
I know how the river feels
Miles of loneliness, now make perfect sense
Here beside you
Tears like water fall, it was worth it all
Just to find you
And yours are the last arms Ill run to
Now I know how the river feels
When it reaches the sea
And finally finds the place
It was always meant to be
Holding fast, home at last
Knowing the journeys through
Lying here with you
I know how the river feels
Holding fast, home at last
Knowing the journeys through
Lying here with you
I know how the river feels
Oh, I know how the river feels

Slow Down

Chorus:
I said slow down--
Slow down and live, my friend
Take time--take time to understand
The things--the things you hope to win
Before--before your journeys end
Slow down--slow down and try to do
The things--the things thats right for you
You know--you know
The soul--the soul
You save could be your own
Albert abernathy never spent a foolish dime
Rising at the crack of dawn and working overtime
You know, he never told me how much happiness he found
Yesterday we laid him in the finest grave in town.
Chorus:
I said slow down--
Slow down and live, my friend
Take time--take time to understand
The things--the things you hope to win
Before--before your journeys end.
Slow down--slow down and try to do
The things--the things thats right for you
You know--you know
The soul--the soul
You save could be your own.
Little sally tremble is a music city queen
You can see her picture now on every magazine
Sallys come a long way from the life she left behind
Shes had six gold records and been married seven times!
Chorus:
I said slow down--slow down and live my friend
Take time--take time to understand
The things--the things you hope to win
Before--before your journeys end
Slow down--slow down and try to do
The things--the things thats right for you
You know--you know
The soul--the soul
You save could be your own.

Time Of Revelation

(moving to a fantasy world)
Wont you take
A chance my brother
Follow me to a time of revelation
Cant you see that
Destiny will take a turn
And show you
Theres no need to fight
cause you know its right
And I finally see where Im going
I finally know what Im knowing
Now our journeys only just begun
You wont need to ask forgiveness
What you find
Will be your inspiration
You dont have to pray for glory
All is equal, no more pain
You know its true, its up to you
cause I finally see where Im going
I finally know what Im knowing
Now our journeys only just begun
Over the bridge
Where you start to believe
Down at the edge of the rainbow
Dark is the night
But weve seen another time
Follow the light of the shadow
Right or wrong, there is no reason
There will be no hidden destination
With the strength that you discover
You can show the way
How it was meant to be
For all to see
cause I finally know
What Im knowing
I finally see where Im going
Now our journeys only just begun

Journeys Through Diversity Defining Life (part one of Certain Knowledge Know)

There is something rather sad
about people those poor compelled people,
who have somehow unseen silent become,
wanders over face of siren earth.

Especially when they have become old
when they are alone, worn, torn, and old.
Especially alone, when weathered worn old
as I now suddenly become amazingly old.

It touches my enveloping heart
with old haunting memories,
due to an ancient inheritance
an intense wandering quest spirit,
mixed within my celestial nature.

For I was born old
yet lingering scent, craving curiosity,
kept life’s hardships,
new intriguing about harsh edges.

Barely enough
a desire to perceive know,
motivates tired
emotions inquisitiveness,
discovery no rarity.

Makes for a strange
rich personage,
some even stranger,
chance bedfellows.

But what journeys
journeys through
diversity defining life.

Life’s been a fated warp fabric
so many loose threads,
running through mists,
merging cyclic link bound time.

Soon traverse must wane,
decline fade waver,
with encroaching onset age.

Rove no more hell bent astray,

Journey I and II

A journey that's made for the last time
Is poignant with thoughts of time past
Of people of moments of pictures
Sad to think this time is the last

A journey that's made for the first time
Is of scenes that pass by in a rush
No background, no substance, no meaning
Quick sketches with a broad brush

A journey that's made in the middle
Is tedium where the views are unseen
To get on, to pass by, to ignore
Insignificance born of routine

A journey that's made in the end
Is a trial borne day after day
To accept, to assist, to politely endure
Wasting one's interest away

A journey's that only made once
Is a privilege, not labour of love
To record, to appreciate, to absorb
And all of those verses above

----------
Journeys made by design
Are private attempts at fulfilment
To seek, to acquire, to perspire
At a painful pace of achievement

Journeys made in your mind
Are vital to real life success
To invent, to dispute, to evolve
Make our thinking progress

Journeys made in your soul
Result in new ways of seeing
Listening, guessing and smelling
Add body to your method of being.

Poetry And Reality

THE worldly minded, cast in common mould,
With all his might pursuing fame or gold,
And towards that goal too vehemently hurled
To waste a thought about another world,
Has one advantage which yon lofty host,
His intellectual betters, may not boast :
Neither deceiving nor deceived, he knows
He and religion are inveterate foes ;
He loves it not, and making no pretence,
He shows his honesty, if not his sense.

But we have seen a high-flown, mental thing,
As fine and fragile as libella's wing,
All soul and intellect, the ethereal mind
Scarcely within its earthly house confined,
On heaven oft casting an enraptured eye,
And paying compliments to the Most High ;
And yet, though harsh the judgment seem to be,
As far from Heaven, as far from God, as he :
Yes, might the bold assertion be forgiven,
A poet's soul may miss the road to Heaven !

--'Tis Sabbath morning, and at early hour,
The poet seeks his own sequestered bower :
The shining landscape stretches full in view ;
All heaven is glowing with unclouded blue ;
The hills lie basking in the sunny beams,
Enriched with sprinkled hamlets, woods, and streams :
And hark ! from tower and steeple, here and there,
The cheerful chime bespeaks the hour of prayer.
The poet's inmost soul responsive swells
To every change of those religious bells ;
His fine eye ranging o'er the spacious scene,
With ecstacy unutterably keen ;
His mind exalted, melted, soothed, and free
From earthly tumult, all tranquillity ;--
If this is not devotion, what can be ?

But, gentle poet, wherefore not repair
To yonder temple ? God is worshipped there.
Nay, wherefore should he ?--wherefore not address
The God of nature in that green recess,
Surrounded by His works, and not confined
To rites adapted to the vulgar mind ?
There he can sit, and thence his soul may rise,
Caught up in contemplation, to the skies,
And worship nature's God on reason's plan :
--It is delusion, self-applauding man !
The God of nature is the God of grace ;
The contrite spirit is his dwelling-place ;

Misfit

(carly simon)
There are plenty of late nights
If you want to stay up for them
Youll just want to find yourself a friend
And tie a couple on in a night spot
Draw pictures of your soul, win the jackpot
For tears in your beer
Its hip to be miserable when youre young and intellectual
In a bit youll admit youre a misfit
Comeon home with me
Well turn on the tv
About 10 oclock well turn off the light
Not every man was born to stay up late at night
Tere are plenty of boats to catch
If you notice all the sails in the wind
But you better look hard my friend
In case you catch a ride on the wrong one
In the distance is the one you belong on
Oh the water is wide
Its hipe to be miserable when youre young and intellectual
In a bit youll admit youre a misfit
Come on home with me
Well sit under a tree
And if you get the itch
Ill supply the scratch
Not every man was born with a boat to catch
Its hip to be miserable when you are young and intellectual
In a bit youll admit youre a misfit
A misfit

Crazy Love

(oliver leiber)
I had everything I ever wanted in my life
Wasnt lookin for nobody to be satisfied
Wasnt looking for a honey or a steady girl
til I turned around the corner
And you rocked my world
You were walkin down the street
Body boomin to the beat
You had everything complete
You was cold- too cold
And the funky things you said
Was like music to my head
And you turnded around and said
Baby lets go
Youre so sexual...
So intellectual...so emotional
You have everything I want...
Everything I need
Chorus:
Upside down youre turning me
Ooh its an emergency
Could it be Im fallin for your crazy love
I want your body next to me
Ooh with such an urgency
Could it be Im fallin for your crazy love
I hear everybody talkin
That your mind aint right
And my friends say
I gone crazy girl but thats alright
Cuz the things we do together
They mean so much more
Boy you got me feeling things
Ive never felt before
Youre so sexual...
So intellectual...so emotional
You have everything I want...
So intellectual...so emotional
You have everything I want...
Everything I need
Chorus x 2
Do you know what you want baby?
Do you like what you see?
Do you wanna have some fun with me?
I can give ya just a little taste, just a little bit
If I give it all to you
Can you handle it? (huh!)
Let me have it all...
Chorus
You know you drive me crazy...
Crazy for your crazy love

Prejudice

IN yonder red-brick mansion, tight and square,
Just at the town's commencement, lives the mayor.
Some yards of shining gravel, fenced with box,
Lead to the painted portal--where one knocks :
There, in the left-hand parlour, all in state,
Sit he and she, on either side the grate.
But though their goods and chattels, sound and new,
Bespeak the owners very well to do,
His worship's wig and morning suit betray
Slight indications of an humbler day

That long, low shop, where still the name appears,
Some doors below, they kept for forty years :
And there, with various fortunes, smooth and rough,
They sold tobacco, coffee, tea, and snuff.
There labelled drawers display their spicy row--
Clove, mace, and nutmeg : from the ceiling low
Dangle long twelves and eights , and slender rush,
Mix'd with the varied forms of genus brush ;
Cask, firkin, bag, and barrel, crowd the floor,
And piles of country cheeses guard the door.
The frugal dames came in from far and near,
To buy their ounces and their quarterns here.
Hard was the toil, the profits slow to count,
And yet the mole-hill was at last a mount.
Those petty gains were hoarded day by day,
With little cost, for not a child had they ;
Till, long proceeding on the saving plan,
He found himself a warm, fore-handed man :
And being now arrived at life's decline,
Both he and she, they formed the bold design,
(Although it touched their prudence to the quick)
To turn their savings into stone and brick.
How many an ounce of tea and ounce of snuff,
There must have been consumed to make enough !

At length, with paint and paper, bright and gay,
The box was finished, and they went away.
But when their faces were no longer seen
Amongst the canisters of black and green ,
--Those well-known faces, all the country round--
'Twas said that had they levelled to the ground
The two old walnut trees before the door,
The customers would not have missed them more.
Now, like a pair of parrots in a cage,
They live, and civic honours crown their age :
Thrice, since the Whitsuntide they settled there,
Seven years ago, has he been chosen mayor ;
And now you'd scarcely know they were the same ;
Conscious he struts, of power, and wealth, and fame ;

The Columbiad: Book IX

The Argument

Vision suspended. Night scene, as contemplated from the mount of vision. Columbus inquires the reason of the slow progress of science, and its frequent interruptions. Hesper answers, that all things in the physical as well as the moral and intellectual world are progressive in like manner. He traces their progress from the birth of the universe to the present state of the earth and its inhabitants; asserts the future advancement of society, till perpetual peace shall be established. Columbus proposes his doubts; alleges in support of them the successive rise and downfal of ancient nations; and infers future and periodical convulsions. Hesper, in answer, exhibits the great distinction between the ancient and modern state of the arts and of society. Crusades. Commerce. Hanseatic League. Copernicus. Kepler. Newton, Galileo. Herschel. Descartes. Bacon. Printing Press. Magnetic Needle. Geographical discoveries. Federal system in America. A similar system to be extended over the whole earth. Columbus desires a view of this.

But now had Hesper from the Hero's sight
Veil'd the vast world with sudden shades of night.
Earth, sea and heaven, where'er he turns his eye,
Arch out immense, like one surrounding sky
Lamp'd with reverberant fires. The starry train
Paint their fresh forms beneath the placid main;
Fair Cynthia here her face reflected laves,
Bright Venus gilds again her natal waves,
The Bear redoubling foams with fiery joles,
And two dire dragons twine two arctic poles.
Lights o'er the land, from cities lost in shade,
New constellations, new galaxies spread,
And each high pharos double flames provides,
One from its fires, one fainter from the tides.

Centred sublime in this bivaulted sphere,
On all sides void, unbounded, calm and clear,
Soft o'er the Pair a lambent lustre plays,
Their seat still cheering with concentred rays;
To converse grave the soothing shades invite.
And on his Guide Columbus fixt his sight:
Kind messenger of heaven, he thus began,
Why this progressive laboring search of man?
If men by slow degrees have power to reach
These opening truths that long dim ages teach,
If, school'd in woes and tortured on to thought,
Passion absorbing what experience taught,
Still thro the devious painful paths they wind,
And to sound wisdom lead at last the mind,
Why did not bounteous nature, at their birth,
Give all their science to these sons of earth,
Pour on their reasoning powers pellucid day,
Their arts, their interests clear as light display?
That error, madness and sectarian strife
Might find no place to havock human life.

To whom the guardian Power: To thee is given
To hold high converse and inquire of heaven,
To mark untraversed ages, and to trace
Whate'er improves and what impedes thy race.
Know then, progressive are the paths we go
In worlds above thee, as in thine below
Nature herself (whose grasp of time and place
Deals out duration and impalms all space)

To and Back From the Ocean

Oceanocracy the concept from my childhood memory
Dream holiday is worth 20 millions us $ saving it for 30 years for a dreamer of adventure from Russia to go up to the ISS (international space center)
I am a spaceman going to touch the sand of the ocean and the snow ball of the New Mexico mountains
From a small village from an unknown area of the world
I am bird of a new birth
Still watching the illusive dreams
To the ocean of the dreams
Coming back from the battle of the dreams
To reality-based wisdom, only true intellectuals touch the base of its interaction
what is your most important thing in life, a question to be explored and satoried like language has to be invented, life has to be discovered across disciplines
Bright future with ocean and village apart
intellectual infusion
intellectual genuineness
intellectual nothingness but moving quiteness
ploughshares on the spur of the moments
lines on the new edge of the modern science
Cutting edge is breezeness of change, the real one

Every Divisible Moment

the journey is the fountain
in every divisible moment
water flows and words accumulate

from sourced beginning
until journeys end
when wisdom transmutes

into other forms of energy
yet the flowing fountain
exists in every divisible moment

of continuous state of being
flowing into interconnecting rivers
embracing accumulating knowledge

this differs
from puddles that pool
transpire evaporate

never embraced motion
never undertake journeys
never discover flowing outlets

Night Journeys

did you travel by plane
train bus or car?

enjoy motion waves
of moonlit land night travels
so much better than stasis
commercial aircraft

night journeys can be
such emotional fun
choice to sleep or feel
let glee excitement run

at journeys end sweet blessings wait
bundles of blessings do not be late
travel with ease avoid excessive freight

Godspeed in your travels fast lightweight
