Undo The Right

(willie nelson/hank cochran)
If you cant say you love me say you hate me
And that you regret each time you held me tight
If you cant be mine forever then forsake me
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
It was right when you loved me only
But wrong when you held another tight
So before you go away and leave me lonely
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
Its too late to say your heart is filled with sorrow
You cant undo whats done
Why do you try
So please so I can face the new tomorrow
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
Its too late to say your heart is filled with sorrow
You cant undo whats done
Why do you try
So please so I can face the new tomorrow
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right
If you cant undo the wrong
Undo the right

Desire

Last night I took a turn I never should
I knew nothing good could come of this
Morning's come now and the smoke has cleared
How did I get here from a single kiss
I can't undo what's been done
When the web's already spun
I got caught up in desire
No matter what I say
I can't make it go away
The trouble's just begun
Can't undo what's been done
When I get home there will be hell to pay
I wish there was a way to ease the pain
In a heartbeat I could lose it all
Then my tears would fall, fall like pouring rain
I can't undo what's been done
When the web's already spun
I got caught up in desire
No matter what I say
I can't make it go away
The trouble's just begun
Can't undo what's been done
I can't undo what's been done
When the web's already spun
I got caught up in desire
No matter what I say
I can't make it go away
The trouble's just begun
Can't undo what's been done
No I can't undo what's been done

Undone To Undo

Undone to undo...
Those passionate insights.
Individuality disconnected,
To a symbolic way of life.

Undone to undo...
Questions and curiousity.
Freedom to disconnect...
From a torn and decadent society.

Undone to undo...
Truth and honesty.
A rise in higher consciousness,
That allows eyes wide open that see.

Undone to undo...
Facts and nonfiction.
To restrict convictions.

Undone to undo...
Influence that speaks,
To those poor and meek...
Reaching to strengthen,
Identities that seek...
A reality that teaches,
Shackles are for the sheep...
Heading for mutilation.
And a mindless humanity!

Undone to undo...
You and I.
And all good deeds pursued,
We attempt to do.

Undone to undo...
But intervention,
Prevents it.
Intervention prevents it.
Intervention prevents it.
An intervention,
Prevents it.
And dimensions,
Diminish.

The Restaurant Keeper

In the City of Toronto there was once
a restaurant owned by a man named Imre Finta.
Born in 1912 in Austria-Hungary, Finta spent
his years of youth in my hometown Szeged,
immigrating to Canada after the Second World War.

Settling in Toronto, in 1953 Finta bought
the Candlelight Restaurant but it did not go well,
so he closed it. Then he opened The Moulin Rouge
on Avenue Road at DuPont Street.
The old fashioned Hungarian gentleman greeted
his guests warmly, politely kissing the right hand
of his female patrons.

I had never dined at the Moulin Rouge
but I encountered Finta in a brickyard and
at the railway station of Szeged in the summer
of 1944. At that time I was eight years old
and Finta, aged 32, was a Captain
of the Royal Hungarian Gendarmerie.
He was also a Nazi collaborator who supervised
the deportation of 8,617 Jews to slave labour lagers
and death camps. I was one of them.

A few months earlier, on March 19,1944,
the German Army occupied Hungary
and Adolf Eichmann arrived in Budapest.
His Mission was to implement in Hungary
the “Final Solution”, a Euphemism the Nazis
used to disguise the mass murder of the Jews.

In June 1944, swearing gendarmes pushed
a group of Jewish prisoners from the ersatz ghetto
of Kistelek onto a freight train. My mother,
my three year old sister Vera and I were
among them. We travelled thirty kilometres to
Szeged where the gendarmes led us to
an abandoned brick factory that was turned into
a makeshift concentration camp.

The brickyard camp commandant was
SS captain Angermayer, whom I remember
as a tall and lanky silhouette moving among
the prisoners in a black uniform.
He was assisted by ruthless gendarmes
in cock-feathered hats, armed with
bayoneted rifles and swords,
who terrorized the captives.

Living conditions in the makeshift ghetto

Once You've Learned To Be Lonely

You're askin' me to open up
I'm tryin' my best to give enough
To keep this love alive
It wouldn't be so hard for me to do
If it hadn't have been
For all my heart's been through
But once you've learned to be lonely
And lonely is the only thing you've known
It begins to feel like home
It becomes your comfort zone
Once you've learned to be without someone
And settle for the silence of an empty room
Oh, it changes you
There's a lot you have to undo
Once you've learned to be lonely
It becomes a habit of the heart
To be afraid to even start
To try and love again
I want to give myself to you
But I've been alone so long
That I'm scared, scared to move
But once you've learned to be lonely
And lonely is the only thing you've known
It begins to feel like home
It becomes your comfort zone
Once you've learned to be without someone
And settle for the silence of an empty room
Oh, it changes you
There's a lot you have to undo
Once you've learned to be lonely
I've built these walls but I feel them fallin' down
Touch by touch your love is my way out
But once you've learned to be lonely
And lonely is the only thing you've known
It begins to feel like home
It becomes your comfort zone
Once you've learned to be without someone
And settle for the silence of an empty room
Oh, it changes you
There's a lot you have to undo
Once you've learned to be lonely
There's a lot you have to undo
Once you've learned to be lonely

Angels Of The Disappeared

You let me read your pretty poetry
And I fell for your trailer park majesty
And I, When I said I'd die for you (for you)
I didn't mean for you to write the eulogy
You betrayed yourself and me too
CH. I know you lie when it's true
Jesus saves white trash, baby, like you
It's too late for you to undo
Jesus saves white trash, baby, like you
I should appreciate the irony
Cause I led us both to my Gethsemane
And I, I don't hate you I hate love (it's true)
I held you so close I couldn't see
While you had the grander view
I know sometimes it's true
(Jesus saves white trash, baby like you)
We make what we can't undo
(Jesus saves white trash, baby like you)
solo
CHORUS: I know you lie when it's true
Jesus saves white trash, baby like you
It's too late for you to undo
Jesus saves white trash, baby like you
CHORUS: I know sometimes it's true
(Jesus saves white trash, baby like you)
We make what we can't undo
(Jesus saves white trash, baby like you)

Of Hell And The Estate of Those Who Perish

hus, having show'd you what I see
Of heaven, I now will tell
You also, after search, what be
The damned wights of hell.

And O, that they who read my lines
Would ponder soberly,
And lay to heart such things betimes
As touch eternity.

The sleepy sinner little thinks
What sorrows will abound
Within him, when upon the brinks
Of Tophet he is found.

Hell is beyond all though a state
So doubtful[10] and forlorn,
So fearful, that none can relate
The pangs that there are born.

God will exclude them utterly
From his most blessed face,
And them involve in misery,
In shame, and in disgrace.

God is the fountain of all bliss,
Of life, of light, and peace;
They then must needs be comfortless
Who are depriv'd of these.

Instead of life, a living death
Will there in all be found.
Dyings will be in every breath,
Thus sorrow will abound.

No light, but darkness here doth dwell;
No peace, but horror strange:
The fearful damning wights[11] of hell
In all will make this change.

To many things the damned's woe
Is liked in the word,
And that because no one can show
The vengeance of the Lord.

Unto a dreadful burning lake,
All on a fiery flame,
Hell is compared, for to make
All understand the same.

The Best Doing Of A Done That I Did And Could Do

Do I undo?
To improve upon that which has been done?
Sure.
It is a necessity.
If an undoing is within my power,
To undo.

Do I stop the doing,
With an undoing that I did...
With attempts not to do?
Even if I am powerless...
To undo that doing done did,
With an improving of a done doing...
To do a better doing of a done did,
That I found unable to undo?
No!
However...
I will continue doing what it is that I do,
With the acknowledgement...
What it was that was done I did do to get done,
Was the best doing of a done that I did and could do...
With an improvement on a done I did,
Hoping that a doing of it was done much better!

My Prayer, When Did I Became Such A Goat?

I used to be so strong
But a soft breaze
broke all of my walls
to the ground

My memorries are messengers
And they told me
that I have a disease

Wondering, but I don't know
psychotic episode
unto the streets
into the woods
inside an inner war

So far away from light
But I keep running into the dark
Can't stop my own two feet

I lost my place
These strings are hard to cut through
I was warned several days
When did I became such a goat?

Oh god please, undo this
All of these terrible mistakes I made
Don´t let this be my last time to breathe again
Don't leave me, here astrayed, abandoned to die

Oh god, save me

Am I still your child?
Father, undo this
Father, help me please
Father, forgive me
My god....
Your
son's
blood
Jesus
Chr ist
Undo my sins
Undo the sins
Father....

Father....

Un-break My Heart

Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Come back and bring back my smile
Come and take these tears away
I need your arms to hold me now
The night are so unkind
Bring back those nights when I held you beside me

Un-break my heart
Say you'll me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart

Take back that sad word good-bye
Bring back the joy to my life
Don't leave me here with these tears
Come and kiss that pain away
I can't forget the day you left
Time is so unkind
And life is so cruel without you here beside me

Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry these tears
I cried so many nights
Un-break my heart
My heart

Don't leave me in all this pain
Don't leave me out in the rain
Bring back the nights when I held you beside me

Un-break my heart
Say you'll love me again
Undo this hurt you caused
When you walked out the door
And walked out of my life
Un-cry that tears
I cried so many

Were The Truth

(tim james/steven mcclintock)
Its the age of the lie
A time when most relations cant relate
Everybodys building walls
To help their heart to face another break
But you and I found another way
When youre here with me
Its so plain to see
There are no cares that be
We cannot undo
In these hardest times
In this age of lies
In this heart of mine
I know were the truth
I know were the truth
In a world of doubt
I know its how much you believe in me
A simple kind of trust
From the heart the way that trust should be
A love like yours is easy to believe
When youre here with me
Its so plain to see
There are no cares that be
We cannot undo
In these hardest times
In this age of lies
In this heart of mine
I know were the truth
I know were the truth
Love is why I first believed in you
Love is still the reason that remains
When youre here with me
Its so plain to see
There are no cares that be
We cannot undo
In these hardest times
In this age of lies
In this heart of mine
I know were the truth
I know were the truth

For A While

Saturday, slept through the morning
Just let the phone ring, now isn't that strange
I watched cartoons, poor ole' coyote
Someone had a worse day than me for a change
And it made me happy
It made me smile
For a while
You always said my friends are all crazy
Baby here lately it seems I fit in
We go out just like the old days
Try to find new ways to go there again
And it makes me happy
It makes me smile
For a while
Everythings just fine
A little ray of sunshine
I didn't feel the fault line running straight through my heart
I didn't think about you
I didn't come unglued
It's a temporary undo but it's a start
It's a start
Late at night I write my own movies
And I am the star, when I close my eyes
Except I look at Julia Roberts
And you're just the poor jerk that I walk on by
And it makes me happy
It makes me smile
For a while
Everythings just fine
A little ray of sunshine
I didn't feel the fault line running straight through my heart
I didn't think about you
I didn't come unglued
It's a temporary undo but it's a start
Little victories, I'll take 'em
Everythings just fine
A little ray of sunshine
I didn't feel the fault line running straight through my heart
I didn't think about you
I didn't come unglued
It's a temporary undo but it's a start
It's a start

Seventh Book

'THE woman's motive? shall we daub ourselves
With finding roots for nettles? 'tis soft clay
And easily explored. She had the means,
The moneys, by the lady's liberal grace,
In trust for that Australian scheme and me,
Which so, that she might clutch with both her hands,
And chink to her naughty uses undisturbed,
She served me (after all it was not strange,;
'Twas only what my mother would have done)
A motherly, unmerciful, good turn.

'Well, after. There are nettles everywhere,
But smooth green grasses are more common still;
The blue of heaven is larger than the cloud;
A miller's wife at Clichy took me in
And spent her pity on me,–made me calm
And merely very reasonably sad.
She found me a servant's place in Paris where
I tried to take the cast-off life again,
And stood as quiet as a beaten ass
Who, having fallen through overloads, stands up
To let them charge him with another pack.

'A few months, so. My mistress, young and light,
Was easy with me, less for kindness than
Because she led, herself, an easy time
Betwixt her lover and her looking-glass,
Scarce knowing which way she was praised the most.
She felt so pretty and so pleased all day
She could not take the trouble to be cross,
But sometimes, as I stooped to tie her shoe,
Would tap me softly with her slender foot
Still restless with the last night's dancing in't,
And say 'Fie, pale-face! are you English girls
'All grave and silent? mass-book still, and Lent?
'And first-communion colours on your cheeks,
'Worn past the time for't? little fool, be gay!'
At which she vanished, like a fairy, through
A gap of silver laughter.
'Came an hour
When all went otherwise. She did not speak,
But clenched her brows, and clipped me with her eyes
As if a viper with a pair of tongs,
Too far for any touch, yet near enough
To view the writhing creature,–then at last,
'Stand still there, in the holy Virgin's name,
'Thou Marian; thou'rt no reputable girl,
'Although sufficient dull for twenty saints!
'I think thou mock'st me and my house,' she said;
'Confess thou'lt be a mother in a month,

Cloak to Gloat

I am not inspired by those who conspire,
To undo what the good ones do.

I am so tired by the backstabbing done...
By those who cloak to gloat and run.

I am not pleased by any of this.
And wish this evilness dismissed.

But this is how we live today and breathe!
It's got to flee!

Maybe someone like Barack will stop it.
Blocking ignorance that mocks it!
Hopefully this sleaze will up and leave.
And a peace to feed we'll greed.

Hello Goodbye AP

HELLO GOODBYE A.P.

Has 'Chance' ever sought to undo
Events it engenders, whose aim
Links Cause and Effect, threads into
Life's wonder it treads till Time's claim
Opens onto dark void to ensue -
Goodbye to AP's passing fame!

Has maid caught swain’s thought to braid two
Ever one? What begun with acclaim
Leads to au revoir as all view
Lifted hand for departure, proclaim
Once need not be forever - 'tis true.
'Goodbye to AP! ' calls her name!

Has the rainbow bewitched him? Arched cue
Energizing emotions which flame
Like love's blaze to amaze through and through,
Light waves, soaring, stay never the same,
Ochre, green, turn, deep scarlet, bright blue.
Goodbye to AP features game!

His soul-song soft-strong would pursue
Elsewhere echoes profound, to our shame,
Laughter twinning Yin, Yang, spinning through
Lasting memories all should reframe,
Opportunities none should subdue.
Goodbye to AP she'd exclaim!

Heart explores other skies bright and blue,
Eliminates obstacles lame,
Like a spark which the dark lit - it knew
Lately motivations none may tame.
Overdue, old page turns towards new,
Goodbye to AP's rhyming flame!

Hence! calls finger, don’t linger, renew
Emotions whose motions enflame,
Late seems better than never to brew
Leaving potion, heed siren's refrain
Options nascent foreseen in its train:
Goodbye APing crew and Adieu!

I'm Your Remedy

I...
May not be,
Impressive enough.
To catch your attention.
Or maybe you think,
I get too much.
But,
I may not be...
The one you need.
But I know I've got what you want.
Because what you want,
I offer.

It's there in your eyes...
Yes.
A wanting to be held.
Yes.
A wanting to be touched and loved.
And...
Done so well.

Oh,
It's there in your eyes...
Yes.
A wanting to be held.
Yes.
A wanting to be touched and loved.
And...
Done so well.
Like...
I do!

I...
May not be,

Or maybe you think,

In My mind

In my mind...
And in my heart,
Is where you belong.
I've got to stay strong,
To carry this love
I've had for so long.

It's true...
You hold me in your magic spell.
I will never undo those things we knew so well.

On my lips,
I wish yours were kissing mine.
It has been quite sometime,
I felt such a need to make you mine.

It's true...
You hold me in your magic spell.
I can never undo those things,
We knew so well.

This emptiness grows unattended.
A part of me is lost!
I hunger with a yearning dependent,
And I am paying an unending cost.

In my mind,
And in my heart
Is where you belong.
I've got to stay strong...
To bare with this love,
I've had for so long.

It's true...
You hold me in your magic spell.
I can never undo,
Those things we did!
Or can ever refuse...
What I can feel but can't tell!

The Giving Power To

Given power to...
Upset and disconnect.
And...
Reject the best.
And...
Exaggerate and stretch,
A lie to make it true...
Is done,
And with a motive.
But,
The giving power to...
Fix and uplift with hope,
Flows with a flushing...
Down the drain.

The giving power to...
Upset and disconnect.
And...
Reject the best.
Is...
What people do!

Yes,
The giving power to...
Fix and uplift with hope,
Flows with a flushing...
Down the drain.
And that is true.

Yes...
The giving power to,
Truth, peace and happiness...
As best as it can get,
Is not pursued.

No...
The giving power to,
Truth, peace and happiness...
As yet,
Is not...
Done to do.

The giving power to...
Undo a mess to correct,
Is...
Not pursued!

The giving power to...

To Prove You Can Undo

Have you mistaken good for evil?
Premeditated just to tease.
Have you changed your medication,
And found an admiration...
To prove,
You can...
Undo the good in people.
To prove,
You can...
Be cruel and heartless too!

Have you mistaken good for evil?
To prove,
You can.
And be cruel and heartless too!
To prove,
You can.

You've been hurt too many times!
Get back.
Don't attack.
Too many times.
Get back.
Don't attack.
Too many people are just like that.

Have you mistaken good for evil?
Premeditated just to tease.
Have you changed your medication,
And found an admiration...
To prove,
You can...
Undo the good in people.

Three Songs To The Same Tune

I
GRANDFATHER sang it under the gallows:
' Hear, gentlemen, ladies, and all mankind:
Money is good and a girl might be better.
But good strong blows are delights to the mind.'
There, standing on the catt,
He sang it from his heart.
Those fanatics all that we do would undo;
Down the fanatic, down the clown;
Down, down, hammer them down,
Down to the tune of O'Donnell Abu.
'A girl I had, but she followed another,
Money I had, and it went in the night,
Strong drink I had, and it brought me to sorrow,
But a good strong cause and blows are delight.'
All there caught up the tune:
'On, on, my darling man'.
Those fanatics all that we do would undo;
Down the fanatic, down the clown;
Down, down, hammer them down,
Down to the tune of O'Donnell Abu.
'Money is good and a girl might be better,
No matter what happens and who takes the fall,
But a good strong cause' -- the rope gave a jerk there,
No more sang he, for his throat was too small;
But he kicked before he died,
He did it out of pride.
Those fanatics all that we do would undo;
Down the fanatic, down the clown;
Down, down, hammer them down,
Down to the tune of O'Donnell Abu.

II
Justify all those renowned generations;
They left their bodies to fatten the wolves,
They left their homesteads to fatten the foxes,
Fled to far countries, or sheltered themselves
In cavem, crevice, hole,
Defending Ireland's soul.
'Drown all the dogs,' said the fierce young woman,
'They killed my goose and a cat.
Drown, drown in the water-but,
