I have a respect for manners as such, they are a way of dealing with people you don't agree with or like.

Dealing Dreams

Dont you feel so very pointless here
In the feelings of the rain
The violence of the sun?
I must confess that I feel graciously
To be of the rain
And hotter than the sun
What do you do?
What do you say
When the blood spill is of your loved one
And the kremlins of the world fall around you?
Were dealing dreams, yeah
Were dealing dreams
Were dealing structures that grow cold in our hearts
Oh fearful, crying people
Food is by the river
Watching, but not swimming
It takes energy not to get used to it
Fall into this place
Where everything rolls together and dies
This crying kingdom she is now
Forever will she be
The silence of a (? )
Were dealing dreams, yeah
Were dealing dreams
Were dealing structures that grow cold in our hearts, yeah
Were dealing dreams, yeah
Were dealing dreams
Were dealing structures that grow cold in our hearts
Were dealing dreams
Structures that grow cold in our hearts, yeah
Were dealing dreams
Were dealing dreams, ah yes, ah yes, dreams
Structures that grow cold
Structures that grow cold
Structures that grow cold in our hearts
Dont you feel so very pointless here
In the feelings of the rain
The violence of the sun?

No Respect

Ohh whoa ohh....
I respect a man raisin his kids all on his own
I respect a man who makes sure he takes care of home
You gotta respect a man with good judgement
Cuz Ill be damned if someones takin care of my kids
And I respect a man who treats his woman like a queen
I know youre not perfect you aint gotta be so mean
No matter how strong she is for a woman
A man should never attempt to lay his hands on her
Bridge:
Theres more to life than what happens an your block
Just treat your women right and hold em at the top
Gotta raise these kids and teach em, never dont ya stop
You aint no man to me if you let your family starve
Chorus:
Got no respect for them dudes who hit they women and
Got no respect for the fools who leave they children and
I just wanna take care of my family
Got no respect if you aint trying to do the right thing
Got no respect for them dudes who hit they women and
Got no respect for the fools who leave they children and
I just wanna take care of my family
Got no respect if you aint trying to do the right thing
I respect the type of girl that tries to love a man
With many flaws and broken laws but still he stands
The kinda girl who turns a boy into a man
The kinda girl who turns a flop into a plan
No respect for those who walk through life just askin you
What you can do for them but still they hate on you
It dont take no man to make that baby
But yes it takes a man to raise that baby
Fellas we gotta make a change
In the way that we treat our women and our children yes we do
Hope thats theres a better day
Put your hands to the sky
If you want a change, need a change

A Question Of Honor

I respect, another mans religion, or color or creed.
I respect, and follow, the will of my maker.
I respect, the truth, no matter how unpopular.

I respect, a good work ethic.
I respect, the values on which this country was founded.
I respect, those who would champion the under privileged.
I respect, those of differences, who seek common ground.

I respect, the concept of monogamy.
I respect, those faithful to principal.
I respect, change, that is for the better.
I respect, an honest days work.

I respect, the great talents of the entertainment world.
I respect, thought provoking works, of the written word.
I respect, the unquenchable thirst of creativity.
I respect, the farmers and workers that toil in the field.

I respect, the good in man.
I respect, the virtue in woman.
I respect, the innocence of children.
I respect, the generosity of mankind.

Most of all...I respect the maker of
life and the love, that each of us
have within us.

Dipped In Superstitions

My mind has been dipped in superstitions.
From the day that I was born to breathe.
Black cats and cracks on dirty sidewalks...
And splitting poles when walking with people!

My mind has been quick to mend a quarrel.
With those who may not agree to speak!
But grandma always spoke to neighbors...
Even if they stoled her peaches off the trees!

'Good manners and respect will save.
You don't want to take evil meanness...
To your grave! '

Sometimes I sit and pick my memory!
Of things my grandma said to me.
She told me don't talk bad of people...
'Bite your lip and watch them slip,
Off the steeple to their knees! '

Huh?

'Good manners and respect will save.
You don't want to take evil meanness...
To your grave! '

My mind has been dipped in superstitions.
From the day that I was born to breathe!
And when my grandma grabbed the spatula...
I knew when it was time for me to leave! !

'Good manners and respect will save.
You don't want to take evil meanness...
To your grave! '

OKAY...I'm outta here!

'Good manners and respect will save.
And don't pretend your heart is golden...
Before the cookies are baked! '

Huh?
And what is that suppose to mean?

'You'll figure it all out!
Long after your 'teens'...
Good manners and respect will save!
Not pretending that your heart is golden...
Before a cookie is baked! '

No Respect

Respect,
Always everybody looking for some
Respect,
Who do you think youre gonna get it from
Respect,
Anybody here deserving of none
Respect,
Tell me what makes you think
Youre not the one
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
Respect,
Why be concerned with
Public adulation
Respect,
Pat on the back crying
For attention
Respect,
Finding out what it really
Means to me
Respect,
Honor comes only after
Humility

Tale VI

THE FRANK COURTSHIP.

Grave Jonas Kindred, Sybil Kindred's sire,
Was six feet high, and look'd six inches higher;
Erect, morose, determined, solemn, slow,
Who knew the man could never cease to know:
His faithful spouse, when Jonas was not by,
Had a firm presence and a steady eye;
But with her husband dropp'd her look and tone,
And Jonas ruled unquestion'd and alone.
He read, and oft would quote the sacred words,
How pious husbands of their wives were lords;
Sarah called Abraham Lord! and who could be,
So Jonas thought, a greater man than he?
Himself he view'd with undisguised respect,
And never pardon'd freedom or neglect.
They had one daughter, and this favourite child
Had oft the father of his spleen beguiled;
Soothed by attention from her early years,
She gained all wishes by her smiles or tears;
But Sybil then was in that playful time,
When contradiction is not held a crime;
When parents yield their children idle praise
For faults corrected in their after days.
Peace in the sober house of Jonas dwelt,
Where each his duty and his station felt:
Yet not that peace some favour'd mortals find,
In equal views and harmony of mind;
Not the soft peace that blesses those who love,
Where all with one consent in union move;
But it was that which one superior will
Commands, by making all inferiors still;
Who bids all murmurs, all objections, cease,
And with imperious voice announces--Peace!
They were, to wit, a remnant of that crew,
Who, as their foes maintain, their Sovereign slew;
An independent race, precise, correct,
Who ever married in the kindred sect:
No son or daughter of their order wed
A friend to England's king who lost his head;
Cromwell was still their Saint, and when they met,
They mourn'd that Saints were not our rulers yet.
Fix'd were their habits; they arose betimes,
Then pray'd their hour, and sang their party-

rhymes:
Their meals were plenteous, regular and plain;
The trade of Jonas brought him constant gain;
Vender of hops and malt, of coals and corn -
And, like his father, he was merchant born:

Gaia

(olivia newton-john)
I am your mother--born of the sun
I gave you shelter--what have you done?
Your hearts in turmoil--my worlds in pain
I need to turn you back home again
I am a woman--i am the rain
And like your father--i feel the betrayed
What you are doing--can be undone
You know the answers--tell everyone
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
I am the forest--now Im a tree
The air is dirty--i cannot breathe
My streams run empty--my tears run dry
My children call me--dont let us die
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
I love my children and Ive been your home
But Ill survive this--if Im alone
Im survivor--but you will be gone
Lets start a new world--from this day on
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Whose fates in jeopardy
Respect me
Respect me
I need you to protect me
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
For it is you not me
Thats the part you fail to see
Oh respect me

Sonnet: Respect

Respect your elders all if they deserve;
Respect your servants too who you well serve;
Respect your father for tilling the soil;
Respect your mother for her love and toil.

Respect all teachers who gave you knowledge;
Respect your friend who saved you from the ledge;
Respect all good minds who advised you good;
Respect the man of God who gave soul’s food.

Respect all strangers who were all Godsends;
Respect your foes who taught you self-defense;
Respect those evil men who you troubled;
Respect the tempter who well you misled.

Respect your conscience which tells you what’s right;
Respect your God who is your Friend and Guide.

Ordinary People

In a dusty town a clock struck high noon, two men stood face to face.
One wore black and one wore white, but of fear there wasnt a trace.
Two hundred years later two hot rods drag through the very same place,
And a half a million people
Moved in to pick up the pace, a factory full of people.
Makin parts to go to outer space, a train load of people.
They were aimin for another place, out of town people.
Theres a man in the window with a big cigar, says everythings for sale.
The house and the boat and the railroad car, the owners gotta go to jail.
He acquired these things from a life of crime, now hes selling them to raise his bail.
He was rippin off the people.
Sellin guns to the underground, tryin to help the people.
Lose their ass for a piece of ground, rippin off the people.
Skimmin the top when there was no one around, tryin to help the people.
He was dealing antiques in a hardware store but he sure had a lot to hide.
He had a backroom full of the guns of war and a ton of ammunition besides.
Well, he walked with a cane, kept a bolt on the door with five pit bulls inside,
Just a warning to the people
Who might try to break in at night, protection from the people.
Selling safety in the darkest night, tryin to help the people.
Get the drugs to the street all right, ordinary people.
Well, its hard to say where a man goes wrong, might be here and it might be there.
What starts out weak might get too strong, if you cant tell foul from fair.
But its hard to judge from an angry throng of hands stretched into the air,
The vigilante people.
Takin law into their own hands, conscientious people.
Crackin down on the druglords land, government people.
Confiscatin all the dealers land, patch-of-ground people.
Down at the factory, theyre puttin new windows in.
The vandals made a mess of things, and the homeless just walked right in.
Well, they worked here once, and they live here now, but they might work here again,
Theyre ordinary people.
And theyre livin in a nightmare, hard workin people.
And they dont know how they go there, ordinary people.
And they think that you dont care, hard workin people.
Down on the assembly line, they keep puttin the same thing out.
But the people today, they just aint buyin, nobody can figure it out.
Well, they try like hell to build a quality end, theyre workin hard without a doubt,
Theyre ordinary people.
And the dollars what its all about, hard workin people.
But the customers are walkin out, lee iacocca people.
Yeah, they look but they just dont buy, hard workin people.
Two out of work models and a fashion slave try to dance away the michelob night.
The bartender poured himself another drink, while two drunks sat watchin the fight.
The champ went down, then he got up again, and then he went out like a light,
He was fightin for the people.
But his timing wasnt right, for las vegas people
Who came to see a las vegas fight, high rollin people.
Takin limos though the neon night, fightin for the people.
And then a new rolls royce and a company car they went flyin down the street.

The Interpretation of Nature and

I.

MAN, being the servant and interpreter of Nature, can do and understand so much and so much only as he has observed in fact or in thought of the course of nature: beyond this he neither knows anything nor can do anything.

II.

Neither the naked hand nor the understanding left to itself can effect much. It is by instruments and helps that the work is done, which are as much wanted for the understanding as for the hand. And as the instruments of the hand either give motion or guide it, so the instruments of the mind supply either suggestions for the understanding or cautions.

III.

Human knowledge and human power meet in one; for where the cause is not known the effect cannot be produced. Nature to be commanded must be obeyed; and that which in contemplation is as the cause is in operation as the rule.

IV.

Towards the effecting of works, all that man can do is to put together or put asunder natural bodies. The rest is done by nature working within.

V.

The study of nature with a view to works is engaged in by the mechanic, the mathematician, the physician, the alchemist, and the magician; but by all (as things now are) with slight endeavour and scanty success.

VI.

It would be an unsound fancy and self-contradictory to expect that things which have never yet been done can be done except by means which have never yet been tried.

VII.

The productions of the mind and hand seem very numerous in books and manufactures. But all this variety lies in an exquisite subtlety and derivations from a few things already known; not in the number of axioms.

VIII.

Moreover the works already known are due to chance and experiment rather than to sciences; for the sciences we now possess are merely systems for the nice ordering and setting forth of things already invented; not methods of invention or directions for new works.

IX.

The cause and root of nearly all evils in the sciences is this -- that while we falsely admire and extol the powers of the human mind we neglect to seek for its true helps.

X.

The subtlety of nature is greater many times over than the subtlety of the senses and understanding; so that all those specious meditations, speculations, and glosses in which men indulge are quite from the purpose, only there is no one by to observe it.

XI.

As the sciences which we now have do not help us in finding out new works, so neither does the logic which we now have help us in finding out new sciences.

XII.

The logic now in use serves rather to fix and give stability to the errors which have their foundation in commonly received notions than to help the search after truth. So it does more harm than good.

XIII.

Respect Yourself

Refrain:
Respect yourself
Change your mind
Respect yourself
Dont be blind
Respect yourself
And you will see the light
Respect yourself
And you will find your way
So practise what you pray
Dont run away
Respect yourself
Respect yourself
Respect yourself
And you will see the light
1.
If you are feeling weak so deep inside
No place to run, no place to hide
R. E. S. P. E. C. T
Respect your destiny
If you dont know what is right or wrong
If you feel confused and your thoughts are gone
R. E. S. P. E. C. T
Respect yourself, be free
2.
Dont care about what people say
Believe in yourself and go your own way
Respect - no resignation
Leave the path of isolation
Dont care about what people say
R.E.S.P.E.C.T , will never get away
Today, we stay, and pay attention anyway
Fairplay, everyday dont run away
3.
You dont know, no, what you dont know
Like the colours of the rainbow
Respect is the name of the game
Respect yourself and you never miss your aim
If you gonna show weakness
You gotta let them know
You dont know, no, what you dont know
If you really wanna grow, say no just go
