At 13, I realized that I could fix anything electronic. It was amazing, I could just do it. I started a business repairing radios. It grew to be one of the largest in Philadelphia.

We The Electronic

See us on the underground
Packed up in our sardine cans
Tailor made with suits and shades
Lipstick teeth and waxwork hands
Electronic, we're electronic
Jumping on conveyor belts
Escalators in our heads
Programmed for another day
Talking to a faceless friend
Electronic, so moronic
We're electronic, we the electronic
Electronic
Hear the ticking in our beds
Find the balance in our heads
Wishing we could make a change
See the morning coming in
Electronic, so moronic
We're electronic, we the electronic
Electronic
Electronic, so moronic
We're electronic, we the electronic
Electronic
Electronic, so moronic
We're electronic, we the electronic

Mind Your Own Business

Mind Your Own Business
(Words and music by Hank Williams, Sr.)
If the wife and I was fussin', brother that's our right
Me and that ole woman bought a license to fight
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If youmind your own business, you won't be mindin' mine.
Well, the woman on the party line's a nosey thing
She picks up her receiver when she knows it's my ring
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you mind your own business, you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
Well, I got a little girl that wears her hair up high
The boys all hollar when she walks by
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Just mind your own business, you wont be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
I may tell a lot of stories that may not be true
But I can get to Heaven just as easy as you
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, will you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Mind your business, and you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental with ad libs ---
Now, If I want to honky tonk 'til around two or three
Darlin' that's my headache, don't you worry 'bout me.
Why don't you mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Go on and mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you're mindin' your business, you won't be mindin' mine.
--- Instrumental---
Mindin' other people's business seems to be high-toned
Well, I got all that I can do just to mind my own
Mind your own business(Mind your own business)
Yeah, mind your own business(Mind your own business)
If you mind your businessmyou won't be mindin' mine.
Dear Lord, If you mind your business, you'll be busy all the time...

Philadelphia

If you're off to Philadelphia in the morning,
You mustn't take my stories for a guide.
There's little left, indeed, of the city you will read of,
And all the folk I write about have died.
Now few will understand if you mention Talleyrand,
Or remember what his cunning and his skill did;
And the cabmen at the wharf do not know Count Zinzendorf,
Nor the Church in Philadelphia he builded.

It is gone, gone, gone with lost Atlantis,
(Never say I didn't give you warning).
In Seventeen Ninety-three 'twas there for all to see,
But it's not in Philadelphia this morning.

If you're off to Philadelphia in the morning,
You mustn't go by anything I've said.
Bob Bicknell's Southern Stages have been laid aside for ages,
But the Limited will take you there instead.
Toby Hirte can't be seen at One Hundred and Eighteen
North Second Street--no matter when you call;
And I fear you'll search in vain for the wash-house down the lane
Where Pharaoh played the fiddle at the ball.

It is gone, gone, gone with Thebes the Golden,
(Never say I didn't give you warning).
In Seventeen Ninety-four 'twas a famous dancing floor--
But it's not in Philadelphia this morning.

If you're off to Philadelphia in the morning,
You must telegraph for rooms at some Hotel.
You needn't try your luck at Epply's or "The Buck,"
Though the Father of his Country liked them well.
It is not the slightest use to inquire for Adam Goos,
Or to ask where Pastor Meder has removed--so
You must treat as out of date the story I relate
Of the Church in Philadelphia he loved so.

He is gone, gone, gone with Martin Luther
(Never say I didn't give you warning)
In Seventeen Ninety-five he was, (rest his soul!) alive.
But he's not in Philadelphia this morning.

If you're off to Philadelphia this morning,
And wish to prove the truth of what I say,
I pledge my word you'll find the pleasant land behind
Unaltered since Red Jacket rode that way.
Still the pine-woods scent the noon; still the catbird sings his
tune;
Still autumn sets the maple-forest blazing;
Still the grape-vine through the dusk flings her soul-compelling

Suddenly

She said it wasnt my fault
She said we gave it our all
And she walked away
I never saw the girls I spoke to, no
But tell me is there something I can do
Leave another message on the telephone
And youre parked outside with your headlights on
[chorus:]
Suddenly Im standing at your door
And the steps dont feel like they did before
The radios playing loud but its not our song
Suddenly hes all alone with you
Hes looking in your eyes like I wanted to
I knock four times and pretend youre not at home
Suddenly Im all alone
Suddenly Im all alone
She said it wasnt the same (she said it wasnt the same)
You said our lifes been so plain
Then she walked away
Want to make things brand new
Tell me is there something I can do, whoa
Leave another message on the telephone
And youre parked outside with your headlights on
[chorus:]
Suddenly Im standing at your door
And the steps dont feel like they did before
The radios playing loud but its not our song
Suddenly hes all alone with you
Hes looking in your eyes like I wanted to
I knock four times and pretend youre not at home
Suddenly Im all alone
Suddenly Im all alone...
Suddenly Im all alone...
The radios playing...the radios playing...
Suddenly Im all alone...
The radios playing loud but its not our song
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Suddenly Im standing at the door
And the steps dont feel like they did before
The radios playing loud but its not our song
Suddenly Im all alone with her
Shes everything that I wish you were
You knock four times and pretend Im not at home
Suddenly Im standing at the door
And the steps dont feel like they did before
The radios playing loud but its not our song (but its not our song)
Suddenly Im all alone with her

Lara

LARA. [1]

CANTO THE FIRST.

I.

The Serfs are glad through Lara's wide domain, [2]
And slavery half forgets her feudal chain;
He, their unhoped, but unforgotten lord —
The long self-exiled chieftain is restored:
There be bright faces in the busy hall,
Bowls on the board, and banners on the wall;
Far chequering o'er the pictured window, plays
The unwonted fagots' hospitable blaze;
And gay retainers gather round the hearth,
With tongues all loudness, and with eyes all mirth.

II.

The chief of Lara is return'd again:
And why had Lara cross'd the bounding main?
Left by his sire, too young such loss to know,
Lord of himself; — that heritage of woe,
That fearful empire which the human breast
But holds to rob the heart within of rest! —
With none to check, and few to point in time
The thousand paths that slope the way to crime;
Then, when he most required commandment, then
Had Lara's daring boyhood govern'd men.
It skills not, boots not, step by step to trace
His youth through all the mazes of its race;
Short was the course his restlessness had run,
But long enough to leave him half undone.

III.

And Lara left in youth his fatherland;
But from the hour he waved his parting hand
Each trace wax'd fainter of his course, till all
Had nearly ceased his memory to recall.
His sire was dust, his vassals could declare,
'Twas all they knew, that Lara was not there;
Nor sent, nor came he, till conjecture grew
Cold in the many, anxious in the few.
His hall scarce echoes with his wonted name,
His portrait darkens in its fading frame,
Another chief consoled his destined bride,
The young forgot him, and the old had died;
"Yet doth he live!" exclaims the impatient heir,
And sighs for sables which he must not wear.

That now were welcome to that Gothic pile.

Too Much Monkey Business

Salesman talking to me tried to run me up a creek
Says you can buy it, go on try it, you can pay me next week
Uh-uh, too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Oh-ho-ho
Blonde haired, good lookin tryin to get me hooked
Wants me to marry, settle down and get a home and and write a book
Uh-uh, too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Oh-ho-ho
Pay phone, somethin wrong, dial gone,
Well me ought to sue the operator for tellin me a tale
Uh-uh, too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Oh-ho-ho
Oh-ho-ho ...... oh-ho-ho ...... oh-ho-ho ...... oh-ho-ho
Been to vietnam, been a fightin in the war
Army bar, army chow, army clothes, army car
Uh-uh, too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Oh-ho-ho
Workin in the fillin station, too many tasks
Wipe the windo, check the tires, check the oil, dollar gas
Uh-uh, too much monkey business, too much monkey business
Too much monkey business for me to be involved in
Oh-ho-ho
Blonde haired, good lookin tryin to get me hooked
Wants me to marry, get a home, settle down and and write a book

Truly Amazing

I see Amazing, and I feel it too.
I wish you could meet her.
She comes and goes,
but when you see her you'll know how.
Love, Truly Amazing
Love for the fallen
Truly Amazing
Heal the broken hearted
Truly Amazing
Love for the fallen
I know Amazing, and I feel her too.
I wish she could meet you,
but if you don't have the time
She might run off and hide away.
Love, Truly Amazing
Love for the fallen
Truly Amazing
Heal the broken hearted
Truly Amazing
Love for the fallen
Shine down your Love! Love! Love!
Bring down your Love! Love! Love!

Too Much Monkey Business

Running to and fro,
Hard working at the mill,
Never failed at the mill,
There come a rotten bill.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Salesman talking to me,
Trying to run me up a creek,
Says you can buy it, go on try it,
You can pay me next week.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Blonde hair, good-looking,
Trying to get me hooked and married
Get a home, settle down by the book.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Been to yokohama, baby,
Fighting in the war,
Army bunk, army chow,
Army clothes, army car.
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Same thing every day,
Getting up, going to school.
No need for me complaining,
My objection's overruled.
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
For me to be involved again.
Working in the filling station,
Too many tasks,
Wipe the windows, check the oil,
Check the tires, dollar gas?
Aw too much monkey business,
Too much monkey business
Don't want you by the race,
Get away and leave me.
[original has one more verse:
Pay-phone, something's wrong,
Dime gone, will mail.

You Started This Fire

I lay with you and it's,
Under-cover.
With a ring-aling that dings.
And penetrates to get to things.

Aaahhh, aaahhh, aaahhh.

I lay with you and it's,
Under-cover.
With a ring-aling that dings.
And penetrates to get to things.
And penetrates to get to things.
Repeat.
And penetrates to get to things.
Repeat.
And penetrates to get to things.

Aaahhh, aaahhh, aaahhh.

Now who started this fire?
With a-ring and a-ding-ding-ding.
And a,
Big dingalingaling.
In this,
Sticky heat!
And, breathing deep.

Now who is accused for this fire?
That makes my breathing deep.
And...
Makes me clinch both fist and teeth.

Now who is accused for this fire?
That makes my breathing deep.
And...
Makes me clinch both fist and teeth.

You lay bare with naked clues!
You must of have started this fire.
You looking as if you know what to do too.
You must of have started this fire,
To build up my desire.

And why do I suspect that,
You have done this thing and...
That you want to bring me,
To a place....
To hear me scream

You lay bare with naked clues!

How Do Ya Fix A Broken Part

How do you fix a broken part
How come the sun's too bright to live
Tell me how to fix it
How do you fix a broken heart
Who said this life's too much to bear
Just tell me how to fix it
It's boken
It's broken
What good is it broken
What good is it
How can I fix this broken heart
How come the sun's too bright to bear
Anyway I fix it
So take off your hard hats boys
In a moment of silence
Yeah, get out the your toolbox boys
You'll fix me I know it
How do you fix it
Get out the toolbox boys
I know you can fix things
I know you can fix things
I know you can fix things
I know you can fix it
So how do you fix it
A broken heart
Fix my broken heart
Fix my broken heart (to fade

Comehere With the Quick Fix

They will get it when it comes,
And arrives on the block.
Loaded by a motive that it can't be stopped.

They will get it when it comes,
And arrives on the block.
Loaded by a motive that it can't be stopped.

People,
Hurting from a pride deep inside...
And found to bitter bite!
And people wanting,
Love.
And more love...
To share and keep around at night.

They will get it when it comes,
And arrives on the block.
Loaded by a motive that it can't be stopped.

They will get it when it comes,
And arrives on the block.
Loaded by a motive that it can't be stopped.

Gotta-git-a-quick-fix-of it...
Your love.
I can't resist it when its sittin' there!
Are you gonna come and get it?
Or do you want this good stuff delivered to you...
Wet and bare!

Telling one another,
This is not a love affair.
But a fairytale that has come true.
I hope I'm getting this exclusively.
This is what I want with you,
And what I wish to do.

Comehere!

Gotta-git-a-quick-fix-of it...
Your love.
Gotta-git-a-quick-fix,
It just hit me!
On my head like a ton of bricks!
Gotta-git-a-quick-fix-of it...
Your love.

Comehere with the quick fix of your love!
Comehere with the quick fix of your love!

Love Is Our Business

Dont' need a vacation to get work off our minds
Me and my baby we beg for overtime
We'd stay on the clock 'round the clock if we could
Love is our business and business is good
Love is our business and business is booming
It don't seem like work 'cause we love what we're doing
Satisfaction guaranteed and that's understanding
Love is our business and business is good
We keep climbing higher on the ladder of success
Who'd want to retire with benefits like this
Don't even close on Christmas even though we know we should
Love is our business and business is good
Love is our business and business is booming
It don't seem like work 'cause we love what we're doing
Satisfaction guaranteed and that's understanding
Love is our business and business is good
Yeah, love is our business and business is booming
It don't seem like work 'cause we love what we're doing

Cmon, and you dont stop (here go another one)
Uhh, uhh, and you dont stop (here go another one)
Uhh, uhh, and you dont stop (here go another one)
(feel me baby, its on)
Uhh, I was launched off the block, straight to the top
To yachts with helicopters, Im so hot
Paparazzi, blinded by the rocks
My limousine roll up, the whole world shocked cause
You steppin out with an entrepeneur
I copped you more than what you bargained for
Roll the red carpet, enjoy the profits
First, lets make love in the walk-in closet
Daddy just made a nine digit deposit
Believe me sweetie, its not luck its logic
Im the captain of my destiny
Used to dream of the things I was blessed to see
The jewels and the papers, sports cars and such
Theres nothing in the world ll cant touch
You stood by my side and pushed me so much
Thats why you got them 10 karats, you know what?
[chorus: kandice love]
Its so amazing, amazing, amazing
Lifes given my baby, my baby, my baby
Maybe some day youll feel, how I feel, its crazy
To see my baby.. is so amazing
[ll] sing it baby
[kandice love]
Ive got riches wall to wall
Up the stairs and, down the hall of
All the things that we have done
You got more ideas for us to
Live our lives.. and explore..
There is no topping you, youre untoppable
[chorus]
[ll cool j - over chorus]
So what you sayin? uh-huh
Hehehe, I appreciate it
[kandice love]
Its so amazing, your love, to me
Its so amazing, amazing, to me
Its so amazing, your love, to me
Its so amazing, amazing, to me
Its alright..
Sometimes you work late at night (I know baby)

Just as long, as you dont defy my love
Then its on (I promise you baby)

You're Amazing

Ain't no doubt about it, you're a masterpiece
You're amazing
Adrift at sea'til I saw your face
It's amazing
Anybodys guess - now it's guaranteed
Sent to seventh heaven in my hour of need
Baby baby baby you're amazing
Taken by surprise
Don't waste time tryin'to explain it
Can't believe my eyes
You changed my nights from black to blue
It's amazing
Ever since I fell in love with you
You're amazing
So far out of sight that it's like a dream
Beyond all imagining
But I believe
Baby baby baby you're amazing
Take me by surprise
Don't waste time, baby tryin'to explain it
Right before my eyes
Baby baby baby we ain't faking
We're in paradise
Baby doll, I'm not exaggering
I thought that I could see, but I was blind
I realized now I'm just wasting time
Baby baby baby you're amazing
Taken by surprise
Don't waste time, baby tryin'to explain it
Can't believe my eyes
I used to be weak but you made me strong
So amazing
It's gotta be right 'cos it sure ain't wrong
It's amazing
Baby you're the difference between day and night
I was in the dark 'til I saw the light
Dynamite!
Baby baby baby you're amazing
Took me by surprise
Don't waste time, baby tryin' to explain it
Right before my eyes
Baby baby baby we ain't faking
This is paradise
Baby doll, I'm not exaggering
Girl you're dynamite
Baby baby baby
Baby you're amazing
Took me by surprise
Baby you know how to drive me crazy

I Cant Live Without My Radio

Verse 1
My radio, believe me, I like it loud
Im the man with a box that can rock the crowd
Walkin down the street, to the hardcore beat
While my jvc vibrates the concrete
Im sorry if you cant understand
But I need a radio inside my hand
Dont mean to offend other citizens
But I kick my volume way past 10
My story is rough, my neighbourhood is tough
But I still sport gold, and Im out to crush
My name is cool j, I devastate the show
But I couldnt survive without my radio
Terrorising my neighbours with the heavy bass
I keep the suckas in fear by the look on my face
My radios bad from the boulevard
Im a hip-hop gangster and my name is todd
Just stimulated by the beat, bust out the rhyme
Get fresh batteries if it wont rewind
Cos I play everyday, even on the subway
I woulda got a summons but I ran away
Im the leader of the show, keepin you on the go
But I know I cant live without my radio
Verse 2
Suckas on my jock when I walk down the block
I really dont care if youre jealous or not
Cos I make the songs, you sing along
And your radios def when my records on
So get off the wall, become involved
All your radio problems have now been solved
My treacherous beats make ya ears respond
And my radios loud like a fire alarm
The floor vibrates, the walls cave in
The bass makes my eardrums seem thin
Def sounds in my ride, yes the front and back
You would think it was a party, not a cadillac
Cos I drive up to the ave, with the windows closed
And my bass is so loud, it could rip your clothes
My stereos thumpin like a savage beast
The level on my power meter will not decrease
Suckas get mad, cos the girlies scream
And Im still gettin paid while you look at me mean
Im the leader of the show, keepin you on the go
But I know I cant live without my radio
Im the leader of the show, keepin you on the go
And I know I cant live without my radio
Verse 3

The Vision of Judgment

I

Saint Peter sat by the celestial gate:
His keys were rusty, and the lock was dull,
So little trouble had been given of late;
Not that the place by any means was full,
But since the Gallic era 'eight-eight'
The devils had ta'en a longer, stronger pull,
And 'a pull altogether,' as they say
At sea — which drew most souls another way.

II

The angels all were singing out of tune,
And hoarse with having little else to do,
Excepting to wind up the sun and moon,
Or curb a runaway young star or two,
Or wild colt of a comet, which too soon
Broke out of bounds o'er th' ethereal blue,
Splitting some planet with its playful tail,
As boats are sometimes by a wanton whale.

III

The guardian seraphs had retired on high,
Finding their charges past all care below;
Terrestrial business fill'd nought in the sky
Save the recording angel's black bureau;
Who found, indeed, the facts to multiply
With such rapidity of vice and woe,
That he had stripp'd off both his wings in quills,
And yet was in arrear of human ills.

IV

His business so augmented of late years,
That he was forced, against his will no doubt,
(Just like those cherubs, earthly ministers,)
For some resource to turn himself about,
And claim the help of his celestial peers,
To aid him ere he should be quite worn out
By the increased demand for his remarks:
Six angels and twelve saints were named his clerks.

V

This was a handsome board — at least for heaven;
And yet they had even then enough to do,
So many conqueror's cars were daily driven,
So many kingdoms fitted up anew;
