Goblin Market

MORNING and evening
Maids heard the goblins cry:
"Come buy our orchard fruits,
Come buy, come buy:
Apples and quinces,
Lemons and oranges,
Plump unpecked cherries-
Melons and raspberries,
Bloom-down-cheeked peaches,
Swart-headed mulberries,
Wild free-born cranberries,
Crab-apples, dewberries,
Pine-apples, blackberries,
Apricots, strawberries--
All ripe together
In summer weather--
Morns that pass by,
Fair eves that fly;
Come buy, come buy;
Our grapes fresh from the vine,
Pomegranates full and fine,
Dates and sharp bullaces,
Rare pears and greengages,
Damsons and bilberries,
Taste them and try:
Currants and gooseberries,
Bright-fire-like barberries,
Figs to fill your mouth,
Citrons from the South,
Sweet to tongue and sound to eye,
Come buy, come buy."

Evening by evening
Among the brookside rushes,
Laura bowed her head to hear,
Lizzie veiled her blushes:
Crouching close together
In the cooling weather,
With clasping arms and cautioning lips,
With tingling cheeks and finger-tips.
"Lie close," Laura said,
Pricking up her golden head:
We must not look at goblin men,
We must not buy their fruits:
Who knows upon what soil they fed
Their hungry thirsty roots?"
"Come buy," call the goblins
Hobbling down the glen.
"O! cried Lizzie, Laura, Laura,
You should not peep at goblin men."

Georgia Peaches

(ronnie vanzant -- steve gaines)
Well, you can see her walkin down on peachtree street
She got high-heeled shoes and a dot on her cheek
Shes lookin good, shes headed downtown
Aint got no money, honey
She knows her way around
I think shes cute, think shes cute as she can be
Talkin about a funny talkin, honk-tonking georgia peach
Well these georgia peaches
Son they know their way around
They can take your money, son before you get sight of town
Well they talk a little funny, but they look so fine
Nine out of ten of them gonna sell you a dime
I think theyre cute, think theyre cute as they can be
Talkin about a funny talkin, honk-tonking georgia peach
Well, peaches, peaches
Love them georgia peaches
Well, peaches, peaches
Love them georgia peaches
Well them georgia peaches
Sure do got the style
Theyll steal your heart with a southern smile
Well they talk a little funny, but they look so fine
The older they get, I swear its like good wine
I think theyre cute, think theyre cute as they can be
Talkin about a funny talkin, honk-tonking georgia peach
Talkin about a funny talkin, honk-tonking georgia peach
I just seem to fall in love with the wrong things

Apples, Peaches, Bananas & Pears

Apples, peaches, bananas and pears
I love you, girl, now thats the truth
I need you
Dont be cruel, dont be cruel
Give me just a little help and to show how much I care
I bring you apples, peaches, bananas and pears
Run to me
Girl dont wait to long
And youll see
I wont do you wrong
Promise me no matter what
Forever youll be there
Ill bring you apples, peaches, bananas and pears
Ive said all I can today, girl
Thats the way I am
Take it for what its worth,
Throw the rest into the sun
Give me you
Girl, thats all I ask
Please be true
All I wants a love to last
Ill give it all back to you
And just to prove Im fair
I bring you apples, peaches, bananas and pears
Whoa!
I love you, girl, now thats the truth
I need you
Dont be cruel, dont be cruel
Give me just a little help
And to show how much I care
I bring you apples, peaches, bananas and pears
Apples, peaches, bananas and pears

Canned Peaches

When we got to eat...
We ate spinach, peas and beets,
With sweet canned peaches!

No steak was plated!
But we knew the taste of it,
When mom fixed us cornbread.

And mama said,
Biscuits dripping dumplings...
May be next!

And on Sundays...
We thanked the Lord that week,
We even got fed!

When it came to treats,
We licked the spoon
That dipped those sweet canned peaches!

We loved them more,
Than probably we should.
But they tasted real good!

And on Sundays...
We thanked the Lord that week,
We even got fed!
A love for those canned peaches...
Is 'still' in my head!

When we got to eat...
We ate spinach, peas and beets,
With sweet canned peaches!

No steak was plated!
But we knew the taste of it,
When mom fixed us cornbread.

And mama said,
Biscuits dripping dumplings...
May be next!
But those canned peaches,
By themselves were best!

Dale bien, dale bien
Bailador, bailador
Cgele el vaiven con sabrosura
Dale bien, dale bien
Bailador, bailador
Cgele el vaiven con sabrosura
Yo le canto a todo el mundo
Y les brindo mi alegra
Con el cario profundo que en mi tierra
Es garanta
Dice as
Dale bien, dale bien
Bailador, bailador
Cgele el vaiven con sabrosura
Una sola humanidad, con un solo corazn
Con una sola piedad que al fin
Nos traiga paz y amor...quiera dios
Dale bien, dale bien, con sabor
Bailador, bailador, que bueno el guateque
Cgele el vaiven, ay qu bien
Con sabrosura
Dale bien, dale bien por favor
Bailador, bailador

Seam and speechless
Now they talk because the

Screens and features
Thats why I threw marines
On each-trice
Look its the f-a-b-o-l-o-u-s

Let me tell you
What I wanna do
Let me show you
That Im feelin you
Wanna sex wanna
Ride with you you
Wanna kiss wanna
Put my lips all over you
Cant get enough of you
Always taken of you
So sweet so very wet
So good girl
You make me sweat

Five Bells

Time that is moved by little fidget wheels
Is not my time, the flood that does not flow.
Between the double and the single bell
Of a ship's hour, between a round of bells
From the dark warship riding there below,
I have lived many lives, and this one life
Of Joe, long dead, who lives between five bells.

Deep and dissolving verticals of light
Ferry the falls of moonshine down. Five bells
Coldly rung out in a machine's voice. Night and water
Pour to one rip of darkness, the Harbour floats
In the air, the Cross hangs upside-down in water.

Why do I think of you, dead man, why thieve
These profitless lodgings from the flukes of thought
Anchored in Time? You have gone from earth,
Gone even from the meaning of a name;
Yet something's there, yet something forms its lips
And hits and cries against the ports of space,
Beating their sides to make its fury heard.

Are you shouting at me, dead man, squeezing your face
In agonies of speech on speechless panes?
Cry louder, beat the windows, bawl your name!

But I hear nothing, nothing...only bells,
Five bells, the bumpkin calculus of Time.
Your echoes die, your voice is dowsed by Life,
There's not a mouth can fly the pygmy strait -
Nothing except the memory of some bones
Long shoved away, and sucked away, in mud;
And unimportant things you might have done,
Or once I thought you did; but you forgot,
And all have now forgotten - looks and words
And slops of beer; your coat with buttons off,
Your gaunt chin and pricked eye, and raging tales
Of Irish kings and English perfidy,
And dirtier perfidy of publicans
Groaning to God from Darlinghurst.
Five bells.

Then I saw the road, I heard the thunder
Tumble, and felt the talons of the rain
The night we came to Moorebank in slab-dark,
So dark you bore no body, had no face,
But a sheer voice that rattled out of air
(As now you'd cry if I could break the glass),
A voice that spoke beside me in the bush,
Loud for a breath or bitten off by wind,

Even leaves beg me'' says Eagle

eagle, niggard and black
perched on sycomore on Nile bank
tasty fish gambolled in water
at lightening speed eagle caught
tasty fish and scrambled out

eagle flew and perched on a tree
man was under a tree
and glanced at what sat on tree
eagle and man eyes met at ninety angle
eagle flew away saying
''man may conjure him
by evil eyes''

eagle flew and perched on second tree
some birds were on that tree
Eagle and others birds eyes met at ninety angle
eagle flew away saying he
'' choke as birds watch him eating''

Eagle flew and perched on third tree
the breeze shook leaves of tree
eagle saw leaves unfolded shaking
like a begging hand
eagle flew away saying
'' everything beg me , even leaves
beg me too''

Eagle flew and perched on fourth withered tree
no birds, men and leaves around there
only exrtreme silence around there
eagle ate tasty fish
sang in loudest resounding voice
''eel fish and tasty fish are not the same
I ate tasyty fish until heart palpitated in happiness''

A Basket of Summer Fruit

First see those ample melons-brindled o'er
With mingled green and brown is all the rind;
For they are ripe, and mealy at the core,
And saturate with the nectar of their kind.

And here their fellows of the marsh are set,
Covering their sweetness with a crumpled skin;
Pomegranates next, flame-red without, and yet
With vegetable crystals stored within.

Then mark these brilliant oranges, of which
A by-gone Poet fancifully said,
Their unplucked globes the orchard did enrich
Like Lolden lamps in a green nilht of shade.

With these are lemons that are even more
Golden than they, and which adorn our Rhyme,
As did rough pendants of barbaric ore
Some pillared temple of the olden time.

And here are peaches with their ruddy cheeks
And ripe transparency. Here nectarines bloom,
All mottled as with discontinuous streaks.
And spread a fruity fragrance through the room.

With these are cherries mellow to the stone;
Into such ripeness bath the summer nursed them,
The velvet pressure of the tongue alone
Against the palate were enough to burst them.

Here too are plums, like edible rubies glowing -
The language of lush summer's Eden theme:
Even through the skin how temptingly keeps showing
Their juicy comfort, a rich-clouded gleam!

Here too are figs, pears, apples (plucked in haste
Our summer treat judiciously to vary)
With apricots, so exquisite in taste,
And yellow as the breast of a canary.

And luscious strawberries all faceted
With glittering lobes-and all the lovelier seen
In contrast with the loquat's duller red,
And vulgar gooseberry's unlustrous green.

And lastly, bunches of rich blooded grapes
Whose vineyard bloom even yet about them clings.
Though ever in the handling it escapes
Like the fine down upon a moth's bright wings.

rich red poems
bursting
with abundant juice

squashed pulp

morphia - [Greek. morphin from Morphesus, the god of dreams] the alkaloid constituting the narcotic principle of opium.

Peaches And Cream

The light was on, and everything I felt was strong
I watched as your mascara ran
Didn't get far on that golden tan
I heard you sigh, but I don't wanna see you cry
You looked just like a walking dream
Sweeter than peaches and cream
[Chorus:]
If you want me let me know
I can show you how
If you've got nowhere to go
I can show you now
I'm yours to tame, and I don't even know your name
I like to touch your perfect skin
I can't stop once I begin
To show you more than I have ever shown before
If you could read what's on my mind
Give me yours and I'll give you mine
[Chorus]
We could be, we could see
More than we know
We should be, we should see
More than we know
And I'd like to know
[Chorus 2x]
Sweeter than peaches and cream (If you want me let me know)
Sweeter than peaches and cream (I can show you how)
[Repeat And Fade]

Blow Up Your TV (Spanish Pipe Dream)

(Prine)
She was a levelheaded dancer on the road to alcohol,
I was just a soldier on my way to Montreal.
Well, she pressed her chest against me about the time the jukebox broke.
She gave me a peck on the back of the neck, and these are the words she spoke.
Blow up your TV, throw away your paper, go to the country, build you a home.
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches, try and find Jesus on your own.
I sat there at the table, and I acted real naive.
Cause I knew that topless lady, she had something up her sleeve.
She danced around the room awhile and she did the hoochy coo.
Yeah, singing a song all night long, telling me what to do.
Blow up your TV, throw away your paper, go to the country, build you a home.
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches, try and find Jesus on your own.
Well, I was young and hungry, and about to leave that place.
Just as I was going. she looked me in the face.
I said "You must know the answer," she said "No, but I'll give it a try."
To this day we've been living our way, here is the reason why.
We blew up your TV, threw away your paper, went to the country, build us a home.
Had a lot of children, fed 'em on peaches, they all found Jesus on their own.

From Blossoms

From blossoms comes
this brown paper bag of peaches
we bought from the joy
at the bend in the road where we turned toward
signs painted Peaches.

From laden boughs, from hands,
from sweet fellowship in the bins,
comes nectar at the roadside, succulent
peaches we devour, dusty skin and all,
comes the familiar dust of summer, dust we eat.

O, to take what we love inside,
to carry within us an orchard, to eat
not only the skin, but the shade,
not only the sugar, but the days, to hold
the fruit in our hands, adore it, then bite into
the round jubilance of peach.

There are days we live
as if death were nowhere
in the background; from joy
to joy to joy, from wing to wing,
from blossom to blossom to
impossible blossom, to sweet impossible blossom.

Poetry Is Somebody Writing

Poetry is somebody writing
About soft rotting peaches,
Lying on a table that's missing a leg
In a deserted cottage somewhere,
With ermine curtains.

And Poetry is someone explaining
That the poem holds promise of great beauty,
In the seeds of the peaches,
Even if they are over-ripe;
And even if the curtains are poorly matched.

And Poetry is someone else arguing
That the poem is about avarice
And wasted opportunity
In a post-modern world.

And Poetry is somebody else saying
A poem is just a still life
Made out of nothing in particular,
And thus can't be assigned relative values.

And Poetry is the child,
Falling asleep on the table
Holding a poem book open,
Pressed against his cheek,
And dreaming of ermine peaches
Rolling off of limping tables,
In a dark cottage alone,
In the middle of an existence
Nowhere that we could recognize.

Try something fun with me
Let's take our clothes off all over the balcony
Let's get it on in public
Just let it go I promise that you'll love it
Oh daddy don't you wanna be my soldier
Ooh let's get it on in public Ooh
Don't try to run from me
I'll make your toes curl up and make your body scream
Come take a walk with me
We can do it over there by all the trees
Drive this car real fast
I'll lay my head down and ill make your body blast ow
Let's get it on in public
Just let it go I promise that you'll love it
Oh daddy don't you wanna be my soldier
Ooh let's get it on in public Ooh
Let's make a movie baby
Can we get away with it (Open your legs) (I'll be your animal)
All lights on
I like it when we do it to this song

Can we get away with it (Your so nasty)
All lights on
I like it when we do it to this song (Talk To Me)
[Nas]
The pussy in the mouth, that is the question
Like Shakespeare but my erection is the case here
I ain't got time to drive you all the way home
But instead i can drive you to a club bathroom or a resturant mens room
Then I can zoom in your woon
We both get what we want
Then we can assume

Live As If You're Getting What It Is

Remove the 'maybe'
From the things you need.

Remove the 'maybe'
From dreams you want to see.

Remove the heartache,
From those setbacks.
Keep on trying.
Your wishes with those wants,
Will someday end that teasing.

Remove the 'maybe'
From hope and faith.
Do whatever that hardwork takes.
Remove the sadness from your smile.
And live as if you're getting what it is...
And it's tasty!

Remove the 'maybe'
From the things you need.

Remove the 'maybe'
From dreams you want to see.

Remove the heartache,
From those setbacks.
And live as if you're getting what it is...
And it's tasty!

Spiced the way you like it,
And tasty!
