MOSES, JOSHUA, THE THREE ANGELS OF THE UNIVERSE
Evening: a slope of Pisgah
Moses –Our span of life is lessening with the years,
Our little sun rolls swiftlier to its end
Among the eternal stars. It is a feather
Blown from a careless lip into the dark,
A fallen feather, the lily of a day,
Brimming with blood and tears instead of dew,
And dying with its sleep. Having known life,
Having known day, I pass into the night;
Having long spoken with God, I hold my peace;
Having long held the sword, I lay it down,
And the new watch believes me. Is all well ?
Joshua –O father of my soul, I cannot tell.
The burden of the Lord is heavy on me,

To grace those lines wch next appear to sight,
The Pencil shone with more abated light,
Yet still ye pencil shone, ye lines were fair,

Charity begins at home,

Now Moses, what makes you so strange and forgetful?
How is it you heed what I tell you no more?
Just look at your picture -- who would not be fretful?
Your great muddy boots on my clean kitchen floor.
And there you are smoking -- Oh dear, 'tis provoking!
To tease and torment me it is your desire;
I'll throw your old-- no sir! indeed I'm not joking --
I'll throw your old meerschaum right into the fire!
Now Moses, you'll catch it! Now Moses, don't touch it!
Now Moses, don't you hear what I say? (don't you hear it?)
'Tis thus without stopping, the music keeps dropping,
For night after night, and for day after day.
Now Moses, do tell me now what are you doing
Off there in the pantry so still and so sly?
I know very well there is some mischief brewing --
Ha! that's what you're after, a whole cherry pie,
Stop! stop! you are taking the last of my baking,
The very last pie that was left on the shelf;
If ever one did, you deserve a good shaking,
And I've a great notion to try it myself.

“Dame,” said the Panther, “times are mended well,
Since late among the Philistines you fell.
The toils were pitched, a spacious tract of ground
With expert huntsmen was encompassed round;
The inclosure narrowed; the sagacious power
Of hounds and death drew nearer every hour.
'Tis true, the younger lion 'scaped the snare,
But all your priestly calves lay struggling there,
As sacrifices on their altars laid;
While you, their careful mother, wisely fled,
Not trusting destiny to save your head.
For, whate'er promises you have applied
To your unfailing Church, the surer side
Is four fair legs in danger to provide;

The Interpretation of Nature and
I.
MAN, being the servant and interpreter of Nature, can do and understand so much and so much only as he has observed in fact or in thought of the course of nature: beyond this he neither knows anything nor can do anything.
II.
Neither the naked hand nor the understanding left to itself can effect much. It is by instruments and helps that the work is done, which are as much wanted for the understanding as for the hand. And as the instruments of the hand either give motion or guide it, so the instruments of the mind supply either suggestions for the understanding or cautions.
III.
Human knowledge and human power meet in one; for where the cause is not known the effect cannot be produced. Nature to be commanded must be obeyed; and that which in contemplation is as the cause is in operation as the rule.
IV.
Towards the effecting of works, all that man can do is to put together or put asunder natural bodies. The rest is done by nature working within.
V.
The study of nature with a view to works is engaged in by the mechanic, the mathematician, the physician, the alchemist, and the magician; but by all (as things now are) with slight endeavour and scanty success.
VI.
It would be an unsound fancy and self-contradictory to expect that things which have never yet been done can be done except by means which have never yet been tried.
VII.
The productions of the mind and hand seem very numerous in books and manufactures. But all this variety lies in an exquisite subtlety and derivations from a few things already known; not in the number of axioms.
VIII.
Moreover the works already known are due to chance and experiment rather than to sciences; for the sciences we now possess are merely systems for the nice ordering and setting forth of things already invented; not methods of invention or directions for new works.
IX.
The cause and root of nearly all evils in the sciences is this -- that while we falsely admire and extol the powers of the human mind we neglect to seek for its true helps.
X.
The subtlety of nature is greater many times over than the subtlety of the senses and understanding; so that all those specious meditations, speculations, and glosses in which men indulge are quite from the purpose, only there is no one by to observe it.
XI.
As the sciences which we now have do not help us in finding out new works, so neither does the logic which we now have help us in finding out new sciences.
XII.
The logic now in use serves rather to fix and give stability to the errors which have their foundation in commonly received notions than to help the search after truth. So it does more harm than good.

Faith of The Saints of Old
The faith of the saints of old, is recorded in Scripture of us to behold,
Believers today in God of the past, whose faithful ways eternally last.
Past men and women of the faith, were kept by His Amazing Grace,
Looking always to God’s Love, for guidance and comfort from above.
Upon Moses, God had His hand, to guide him to the Promised Land,
The land of promise which He swore, to Abraham many years before.
And before Moses, it was his Mom, who was in The Almighty’s palm,
As she placed her baby in the reeds, relying on God for all his needs.
God then sent Pharaoh’s daughter, to find her baby upon the water,
As a son she would take him in, but God had his Mother care for him.
Moses was then raised up in luxury, as his people were far from free,
But God would use Moses the man, as deliverer from Pharaoh’s hand.
Moses would lead every Israelite, through the Red Sea by God’s might,
Today just like Moses at the exodus, in Christ, God can deliver all of us.
The Pharaohs that come into our life, are no task at all for Jesus Christ,
And as the Eternal Children of God, He goes with us wherever we trod.
God raised Christ up triumphantly, for today’s believers like you and me,
To help us through the seas we face, through the water by God’s Grace.
Scripture’s best example is God’s Son, who God raised up for everyone,
Now in the hollow of God’s Hand, we’ll reach His Eternal Promised Land.

Out Of Bondage
Delivered out of many years of bondage and given a brand new start,
All they had to do was follow Moses and trust God's unchanging heart.
From the bondage through Moses lead they were given complete relief,
But some never saw The Land because of hardened hearts of unbelief.
Forgetting that Moses was on Sinai speaking to God on their behalf,
The Israelites complained they had no God so Aaron made a gold calf.
Angered by their faithlessness God wanted to destroy them that day,
But Moses pleaded for the people and God allowed a remnant to stay.
The people continued to complain to Moses almost every single day,
So God wouldn't stay with them for fear He'd destroy them on the way.
When being lead along the Red Sea many simply complained and cried,
So The Lord sent venomous snakes among them and many of them died,
But when the people went to Moses and acknowledged that they sinned,
He put a snake on a pole and all who looked to the snake would live.
Their rebellion had angered God so much when they surveyed the land,
That most of Israel was judged by His Mighty Righteous Uplifted Hand.
For 40 years they wandered in the desert because of their wicked sin,
And only those under the age of 20 with Joshua and Caleb entered in.
Will you friend stay on the straight path that God allowed to start?
Or will you have your journey shortened by a sinful rebellious heart?

Where is Moses
The ghetto streets are filled with lost souls.
They walk the night with no one to guide them.
Now as I watch a flame burn from a garbage can
I got but one question where is Moses?
Where is Moses to lead all these lost souls to the promise land?
Where is Moses so that he may reach his staff out and part
the sea of bullets that fly through the sky?
Where is Moses so that he may preach to masses
and tell them worship not that idle God known as a crack pipe,
but worship Jesus?
Is Moses some where sitting on a mountain writing
his next top ten rap song?
I know God would never forsake any of his children
but Lord we need guidance. So where is Moses?
