Lonely and Frightened

lonely and cold,
my humble abode,
shaking with fear,
feel free to steer clear,

nothing but dread,
runs through my head,
trying to fight,
running from the light,

how did i become,
the most lonely, frightened one?
everything terrifies,
my lost,
scattered thoughts,

tears fall from my eyes,
even the gods,
wont hear my cries,

lonely and cold,
frost bitten and old,
time frayed my heart,
my saddened depart.

Frightened When Alone

Believe it or not...
I walk a path,
On a journey...
I have never taken before.

And I am not one to assume it will last,
On an everlasting tour.
I am sure about the process.
But the end result of it my mind ignores.

I have selected a direction,
That to me feels right.
And sometimes I admit,
I do get uneasy but with no thoughts to quit.

I am the type that often wishes,
To have someone to share my life with.
And so far I have not known,
What the meaning of that is.

And frightened when alone,
When I think about this

Frightened Night Child

Even now I hear the weeping
The poor girl crying herself to sleep
She knows not why she cries
But tears come anyway
She's frightened but does not know
what scares away her sleep
Maybe it's the darkness that fills her fear that steals her slumber
A noise fills her ear and she shakes with fear
What could the noise be?
It was the tree outside her room
She hears as a howling monster
Wanting to eat her
She leaps from the bed
and runs down the hall
Her parents none too pleased to see her
Another night of unrest
For the child afraid of the night

Too Frightened To Turn Off The Lights

A race to quiet and defeat truth,
Is on the rise.
Everyday someone is changing,
The events and what took place.
And 'whom' did what to 'who'...
With such embarrassment and disgrace.
Even a forced chuckle faked,
Can not charade a nervousness displayed.

A race to quiet and defeat truth,
Is on the rise.
Lies are being told by those who are shallow.
As if to do this gives them a popularity boost.
While choosing to defend and hide behind insecurities,
With a marketing done of a personality...
That doesn't sleep well at night at all.
And too frightened to turn off the lights,
To fall into anguish and darkened agony!

Frightened Lady

(hicks)
Just like a top the world goes spinning round
Nobody knows whats going on Ive found
Even from jerusalem to old japan
Nobody seems to have a definite, definite plan
Must be a peaceful way for us to go
Even the simplest of man must know
The situations getting worse and worse
One day the bubbles gonna burst
But dont be frightened lady
We will never let them take your boy to war
No dont be frightened lady
We will never ever go to war no more
Why dont they finish it all
We are only people and were terribly small
Why dont they finish it all
Do they think that people dont mean nothing, nothing at all
Chorus
Students are marching now in every land
They wont be shifted just like grains of sand
If we dont get together pretty soon
Well do the same thing on the moon

Lonesome, Frightened Little Dove

E'en now, I ruminate still of the lonesome, frightened little dove;
Love do I, all aspects of you- this assures me of the power of love!
Fly, thee have, away; be back shall thee, in days-
Whenst you are, counting the ways-shall you be, to stay!

Love follows me, follows you-wherest ever we may go;
Always there, buried at times, though, lo and behold-
Here it is, right where I stand, near to my woman,
For her, gracious and humbled-I am her man!

Always do we think of our 'thine'-ever, ever, to be!
Love you do I, honestly, I carry my heart, to thee!
You are my Princess, I, your Prince-attend each day, your coronal-
See thee, do I everywhere I may find call!

Our love for other's thee, our family-
Thinkest now of, my lonesome, freightened little dove!

Frightened

Everyone gets frightened
at some point in their lives.
My greatest fear
may sound strange to anyone here.
I get frightened of my popularity,
don’t think I don’t enjoy it
because I do that is a fact.
I get a twinge of guilt
when I see someone
who just cannot succeed.
I know only too well
the sorrow they go through.
My friend JoAnn told me
her inspiration was on the wane.
To help her out I suggested
we write some together.
I mention the idea to our friend Meggie.
She asked if she could join us,
I said yes of course.
Now I’ve got more popular
it frightens me even more.
I’ve taken to self-mocking
to try and lower people’s opinion of me.
The problem is now
they dispute it all the time.
I think one of the reasons
why I get frightened is
all my life I’ve been at the back of the class
and now I’m near the front row
and that’s the scary bit.
I may joke about it,
but it’s no joke to me.
Getting more and more popular
scares the hell out of me.

Zimbabwe frightened you

Zimbabwe frightened you,
Zimbabwe where we could be alone
and in a way I felt at home.
The dark black faces,
the savagery, hunger
and wretched poverty
were more than you could take.

You panicked thinking
that the unruly young teenagers
and so-called war veterans
would not just drive
the farmers away,
but were sharpening
their Panga-blades
even for white tourists.

Everywhere you looked,
you saw death, destruction
and black rule taking its toll
and the ever hungry
begging people
was like a prophecy
of what in the future
may be waiting for us
at home.

Visiting the places
we had dreamed of,
the Zimbabwe ruins,
Mana pools, Kariba lake
and the Victoria falls
was like a nightmare to you.

Even the African art carvings
of people and animals
and rural paintings
of the Ndebele people
hardly caught your eye
and you would rather die
than stay a day longer.

African dancers screaming
around a fire
and dancing like shadows
on the beat
of ancient drums
drove the fear home,
so that you wanted to get into the car.
