Seems So Long

Lady love and lady cared
But lady went away,
And left me all alone to suffer.
And now I feel its not fair
For me to fall in love
The truth is the real me you must uncover.
Seems so long, since Ive heard the sound
Its been so long, since Ive trusted in someone else,
Had to see it all for myself,
Its been so long, that the world seems cold,
But I think its time in my life to find myself again.
Lady loved and lady stayed,
Until she was too pleased
She knew I wouldnt leave for her to suffer.
Id never make her suffer.
Now I believe youre just like me,
In that you understand,
And want me for your man to always love me.
You can believe its seems so long, since Ive touched a wanting hand
Oh, it seems so long, since Ive trusted in someone else,
Had to see this world for myself,
And its been so long that the world seems cold,
Now I think Ive found someone to make me trust in someone again.
I believe that I can trust in you.

Wotcha Gonna Do

Written by ricki, kim & marty wilde
I couldnt believe what I read when I got your letter
Said you needed to take some time to work out your life, yeah
Well, its easy for you to just go off and do what you want
Any time you please
Dont expect me to wait
If you leave its too late
Youre gonna have to crawl back on your knees
Wotcha gonna do when it gets so lonely
When youre down and so far away from home
How ya gonna feel, you know it wont get better
Cos youve made your bed so you can lie in it on your own
Wotcha gonna do
I knew youd been feeling the need to just change direction
But I didnt know you were gonna walk away from me, no
Now youre out on your own cos you think youve outgrown
All the things that you left behind
But its crazy to see
Cos you know without me
Youre gonna end up losing more than you find
Wotcha gonna do when it gets so lonely
When youre down and so far away from home
How ya gonna feel, you know it wont get better
Cos youve made your bed so you can lie in it on your own
Yeah, yeah
Now dont be a fool on yourself
Cos youve got so much to lose
And I really love you baby
Dont you know that I do, yeah
How ya gonna feel, you know it wont get better
Now youre down and so far away
Now youre down and so far away
Now youre down and so far away from home
Wotcha gonna do
How ya gonna feel

Mona Lisa

(words & music by j. livingston - r. evans)
Mona lisa, mona lisa, man have named you
Youre so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only cause youre lonely man have blamed you
For that mona lisa strangeness in your smile
Do you smile to tempt a lover mona lisa
Or is it your way to hide a broken heart
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there and they die there
Are you warm, are you real mona lisa
Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art
La la la la......

The Wings

I felt wings being put upon my back
I knew there was no turning back
I had left this material world, and took
the steps up to the sky.
I knew I was dead! I just couldn’t understand
How or why. Why did I leave all that I loved
Friends, family, and my loved ones
To climb the steps up to the sky.
WHY? WHY? WHY?
This question kept pounding in my brain.
What did I do, am I going insane?
If I am dead, what am I doing here?
I feel myself walking on the ground.
Yet! I don’t hear no words, no sounds.
Am I between heaven and hell?
Then what am I doing here.?
Then I heard a voice say:
Sometimes spirits find it hard to leave
For in their hearts they do grieve.
You will learn that things are not what they seem to be
There is a difference between spiritual and reality.
They both walk side by side, and can affect you
No matter what you try.
You was chosen to leave this world
And that’s the reason you have those wings
For you will be into everything.
You will show people love, compassion, hope, and faith
Before it becomes much too late.
You will show people how to care, and how to share
How to give strength when there’s no one there.
How to move on in life, and go thru the struggles and strife.
There are so many things that you must do
That’s the reason that I picked you.
So spread your wings and spread them wide
For you have a long ways to fly.
There is someone waiting for you, and when you
Get there, you’ll know what to do.
So I flew to where he said: this was something I did dread.
The person that he sent me to see, was a relative that I once knew
Cancer cells were eating her away, and by her side her family did pray.
Somehow she saw me when I entered the room
She asked me if it was time- I said it was much too soon.
I told her she had to make peace with everyone she knew
And that would take a day or two.
She smiled and said: I understand!
Will you sit and hold my hand.
I held her hand till it was time to depart
For her new life was about to start.
She saw a band of angels in back of me
And they all began to sing.
HALLELUJAH TO THE NEW BORN KING
Now I felt that I earned my wings
Bringing people home was an exhilarating thing.

The Resurrection

I thought I had forever lost,
Alas, though still so young,
The tender joys and sorrows all,
That unto youth belong;

The sufferings sweet, the impulses
Our inmost hearts that warm;
Whatever gives this life of ours
Its value and its charm.

What sore laments, what bitter tears
O'er my sad state I shed,
When first I felt from my cold heart
Its gentle pains had fled!

Its throbs I felt no more; my love
Within me seemed to die;
Nor from my frozen, senseless breast
Escaped a single sigh!

I wept o'er my sad, hapless lot;
The life of life seemed lost;
The earth an arid wilderness,
Locked in eternal frost;

The day how dreary, and the night
How dull, and dark, and lone!
The moon for me no brightness had,
No star in heaven shone.

And yet the old love was the cause
Of all the tears I shed;
Still in my inmost breast I felt
The heart was not yet dead.

My weary fancy still would crave
The images it loved,
And its capricious longings still
A source of sorrow proved.

But e'en that lingering spark of grief
Was soon within me spent,
And I the strength no longer had
To utter a lament.

And there I lay, stunned, stupefied,
Nor asked for comfort more;
My heart to hopeless, blank despair
Itself had given o'er.

How changed, alas, was I from him
Who once with passion thrilled,
Whose ardent soul was ever, once,
With sweet illusions filled!

The swallow to my window, still,
Would come, to greet the dawn;
But his sweet song no echo found
In my poor heart, forlorn.

Nor pleased me more, in autumn gray,
Upon the hill-side lone,
The cheerful vesper-bell, or light
Of the departing sun.

In vain the evening star I saw
Above the silent vale,
And vainly warbled in the grove
The plaintive nightingale.

And you, ye furtive glances, bright,
From gentle eyes that rove,
The sweet, the gracious messages
Of first immortal Love;

The soft, white hand, that tenderly
My own hand seemed to woo;
All, all your magic spells were vain,
My torpor to subdue.

Of every pleasure quite bereft,
Sad but of tranquil mien;
A state of perfect littleness,
Yet with a face serene;

Save for the lingering wish, indeed,
In death to sink to rest,
The force of all desire was spent
In my exhausted breast.

As some poor, feeble wanderer,
With age and sorrow bent,
The April of my years, alas,
Thus listlessly I spent;

Thus listlessly, thus wearily,
Didst thou consume, O heart,
Those golden days, ineffable,
So swiftly that depart.

_Who_, from this heavy, heedless rest
Awakens me again?
What new, what magic power is this,
I feel within me reign?

Ye motions sweet, ye images,
Ye throbs, illusions blest,
Ah, no,--ye are not then shut out
Forever from this breast?

The glorious light of golden days
Do ye again unfold?
The old affections that I lost,
Do I once more behold?

Now, as I gaze upon the sky,
Or on the verdant fields,
Each thing with sorrow me inspires,
And each a pleasure yields.

The mountain, forest, and the shore
Once more my heart rejoice;
The fountain speaks to me once more,
The sea hath found a voice.

Who, after all this apathy,
Restores to me my tears?
Each moment, as I look around,
How changed the world appears!

Hath hope, perchance, O my poor heart,
Beguiled thee of thy pain?
Ah, no, the gracious smile of hope
I ne'er shall see again.

Nature bestowed these impulses,
And these illusions blest;
Their inborn influence, in me,
By suffering was suppressed;

But not annulled, not overcome
By cruel blows of Fate;
Nor by the inauspicious frown
Of Truth, importunate!

I know she has no sympathy
For fond imaginings;
I know that Nature, too, is deaf,
Nor heeds our sufferings;

That for our _good_ she nothing cares,
Our _being_, only heeds;
And with the sight of our distress
Her wild caprices feeds.

I know the poor man pleads in vain,
For others' sympathy;
That scornfully, or heedlessly,
All from his presence flee;

That both for genius and for worth,
This age has no respect;
That all who cherish lofty aims
Are left to cold neglect.

And you, ye eyes so tremulous
With lustre all divine,
I know how false your splendors are,
Where no true love doth shine.

No love mysterious and profound
Illumes you with its glow;
Nor gleams one spark of genial fire
Beneath that breast of snow.

Nay, it is wont to laugh to scorn
Another's tender pain;
The fervent flame of heavenly love
To treat with cold disdain.

Yet I with thankfulness once more
The old illusions greet,
And feel, with shock of pleased surprise,
The heart within me beat.

To thee alone this force renewed,
This vital power I owe;
From thee alone, my faithful heart,
My only comforts flow.

I feel it is the destiny
Of every noble mind,
In Fate, in Fortune, Beauty, and the World,
An enemy to find:

But while thou liv'st, nor yield'st to Fate,
Contending without fear,
I will not tax with cruelty
The power that placed me here.

Taking Me Over

You dont remember me, but I remember you.
I lie awake and try so hard not to think of you.
But who can decide what they dream?
And dream I do.
[chorus:]
I believe in you.
Ill give up everything just to find you.
I have to be with you to live, to breath...
Youre taking over me.
Can you know what I know and all we have.
You saw me mourning my love for you and touched my hand.
I knew you loved me then.
[chorus]
I look in the mirror and see your face, if I look deep enough.
So many things inside that just frighten you are taking over.
[chorus 2x]
(taking over me)
Youre taking over me
(taking over me)
Taking over me

You're taking over me
I look in the mirror and see your face
If I look deep enough
So many things inside that just like you

Get Up

Chorus 1:
Feel like throwing in the towel dont be a fool
Theyre out to knock you out, put you down
For the count
Watch the left, watch the right, below
The belt
Theyll run you round and round its plain to see
Its never gonna stop theyll run ya till you drop
There aint no power around can keep a good man down
Chorus 2:
Theres still some fight in me
Thats how itll always be
Hold your head up high, look em in the eye, never say die
Get up and make it work
You say that love has got you down well thats bull
If love has got you down then love can pick you right back up
There aint no power around can keep a good man down
Walking down a dead end street
No mercy at your feet
Theyre holding all the cards, making things so hard, before it goes too far
Get up and make it work
Get up and make it work

Dance Your Life Away

* in a dance band competition fox-trotting with my girl
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
High geared razzle dazzle, recession is the trouble
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
Thirty hours on the floor and twenty partners left
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
Feel so tired it must be a week
Nearly on my knees
Dance, dance, dance all night
Dance your life away
**
California, you always seem to have the sun
But I never really got near to it
And you try your hand at anything you know
Just to try and earn a dollar

You & I

Here we are on earth together,
Its you and i,
God has made us fall in love, its true,
Ive really found someone like you,
Will it say the love you feel for me, will it say,
That you will be by my side
To see me through,
Until my life is through,
Well, in my mind, we can conquer the world,
In love you and i, you and i, you and i,
I am glad at least in my life I found someone
That may not be here forever to see me through,
But I found strength in you,
I only pray that I have shown you a brighter day,
Because thats all that I am living for, you see,
Dont worry what happens to me.
Cause in my mind, you will stay here always,
In love, you and i, you and i, you and i, you and i
In my mind we can conquer the world
In love, you and i, you and i, you and i.

Artiste

If I were a painter!
I would paint a picture of you,
If I were a songwriter!
I would sing of my love for you,
If I were an author!
I would write a story of love,
But I am only me
as you can see.

If I were a painter!
I would paint a picture of you,
I brush your hair,
with gentle strokes,
with a touch of brown,
and of you on your bed.
I'll make you blush and glow,
With a single stroke I can
make you smile again,
But I am only me
as you can see.

If I were a songwriter!
I would sing of my love for you,
I would write the words,
to tell you how I feel,
And maybe make this real,
But I am only me
as you can see.

If I were an author!
I would write a story of love,
a love that would bind
our two hearts,
write words of love for your voice,
as I let it wash over me,
of kissing your lips and the taste of you,
But I am only me,
as you can see.

Existence Balanced

In a dusty room perfumed by cigarettes
love patiently sits penning letters to itself

reading life by starlight
the angels gather glowingly
a blue light radiates throughout the galaxy

October harvest rich and round
inspirations in abundance

age of Aquarius delivering
insightful illuminations and prophetic revelations
as Lyra shines openly upon creation

justice for the pains inflicted upon
mother earth inner Armageddons
sprouting soulful seeds new
worlds and ancient rebirths

children of the sun healing with power of the spirit
Kachina dances the elders rejoice the arrival of the arch
technological booms economic explosions
medical science achieving man's immortality
all wars being waged be forgotten
discovering secrets left to us by ancient hybrid beings

peace upon the day of purification and punishment
electricity channeling eternal thoughts through time
life breathes in a womb of love as balance gives birth to
to an ever continuing creation

I Showed Her

Its catching up to me right now
Everything that Ive said
The night I left her there
When I said I wanted out
I was angry and upset
And at the time I could care less about staying there
I had to prove I didnt care
As much as she thought I did
[chorus:]
I showed her
I let my pride take me
Far away from the only woman I loved
I showed her
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her
Oh oh oh
I hate that shes in love
But it took a while for her to get over the hurt
Now I know that I messed up
I was trying to give us time
But I see she took that time to find somebody else
What happened to the things she felt for me
Am I really a part of her past
[chorus:]
I showed her
I let my pride take me far away
From the only woman I loved
I showed her
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her
Woah oh ohs
[chorus]
Now she has found someone new
And her life will go on
And Im all alone
But I showed her

Franco Un-american

I never thought about the universe, it made me feel small
Never thought about the problems of this planet at all
Global warming, radio-active sites
Imperialistic wrongs and animal rights! no!
Why think of all the bad things when life is so good?
Why help with an am when theres always a could?
Let the whales worry about the poisons in the sea
Outside of california, its foreign policy
I dont want changes, I have no reactions
Your dilemmas are my distractions
Thats no way to go, franco un-american
No way to go, franco un-american
No way to go, franco un-american
No way to go, franco, franco un-american
I never looked around, never second-guessed
Then I read some howard zinn now Im always depressed
And now I cant sleep from years of apathy
All because I read a little noam chomsky
Im eating vegetation, cause of fast food nation
Im wearing a couple of shoes cause of globalization
Im watching michael moore expose the awful truth
Im listening to public enemy and reagan youth
I see no world peace cause of zealous armed forces
I eat no breath-mints cause their from de-hoofed horses
Now I cant believe; what an absolute failure
The presidents laughing cause we voted for nader
Thats no way to go, franco un-american
No way to go, franco un-american
No way to go, franco un-american
Where can we go, franco un-american
I want to move north and be a canadian
Or hang down low with the nice australians
I dont want to be another i-dont-care-ican
What are we gonna do franco, franco un-american

The Fairy Thorn

“GET up, our Anna dear, from the weary spinning wheel’
For your father’s on the hill, and your mother is asleep;
Come up above the crags, and we ’ll dance a highland reel
Around the fairy thorn on the steep.”

At Anna Grace’s door ’t was thus the maidens cried,
Three merry maidens fair in kirtles of the green;
And Anna laid the sock and the weary wheel aside,
The fairest of the four, I ween.

They ’re glancing through the glimmer of the quiet eve,
Away in milky wavings of neck and ankle bare;
The heavy-sliding stream in its sleeply song they leave,
And the crags in the ghostly air;

And linking hand in hand, and singing as they go,
The maids along the hill-side have ta’en their fearless way,
Till they come to where the rowan trees in lovely beauty grow
Beside the Fairy Hawthorn gray.

The hawthorn stands between the ashes tall and slim,
Like matron with her twin grand-daughters at her knee;
The rowan berries cluster o’er her low head gray and dim
In ruddy kisses sweet to see.

The merry maidens four have ranged them in a row,
Between each lovely couple a stately rowan stem,
And away in mazes wavy like skimming birds they go,—
Oh, never caroll’d bird like them!

But solemn is the silence of the silvery haze
That drinks away their voices in echoless repose,
And dreamily the evening has still’d the haunted braes,
And dreamier the gloaming grows.

And sinking one by one, like lark-notes from the sky
When the falcon’s shadow saileth across the open shaw,
Are hush’d the maidens’ voices, as cowering down they lie
In the flutter of their sudden awe.

For, from the air above and the grassy ground beneath,
And from the mountain-ashes and the old white thorn between,
A power of faint enchantment doth through their beings breathe,
And they sink down together on the green.

They sink together silent, and, stealing side by side,
They fling their lovely arms o’er their drooping necks so fair,
Then vainly strive again their naked arms to hide,
For their shrinking necks again are bare.

Thus clasp’d and prostrate all, with their heads together bow’d,
Soft o’er their bosoms beating—the only human sound
They hear the silky footsteps of the silent fairy crowd,
Like a river in the air, gliding round.

Nor scream can any raise, nor prayer can any say,
But wild, wild, the terror of the speechless three,
For they feel fair Anna Grace drawn silently away,
By whom they dare not look to see.

They feel their tresses twine with her parting locks of gold,
And the curls elastic falling, as her head withdraws;
They feel her sliding arms from their tranced arms unfold,
But they dare not look to see the cause:

For heavy on their senses the faint enchantment lies
Through all that night of anguish and perilous amaze;
And neither fear nor wonder can ope their quivering eyes,
Or their limbs from the cold ground raise,

Till out of night the earth has roll’d her dewy side,
With every haunted mountain and streamy vale below;
When, as the mist dissolves in the yellow morning-tide,
The maidens’ trance dissolveth so.

Then fly the ghastly three as swiftly as they may,
And tell their tale of sorrow to anxious friends in vain:
They pin’d away and died within the year and day,
And ne’er was Anna Grace seen again.

In Light's Shadow

Spinning, spinning
Round and round
I feel myself
Fall to the ground

Falling, falling
Chased by sound
I feel it in me
Relentless pound

Crying, crying
I come unwound
I cry so loud
It should astound

Searching, searching
I’m never found
They can’t reach me
My soul is bound

Dying, dying
My demons howl
Until at last
My soul they drown

You're An Angel

why am i so shy
why am i being so scared,
there's nothing on you,
that should have someone scared,

whats the sense of loving someone
and when you see them you're speechless,
what; s the sense of loving someone,
and when you see them you heart race,

i never really knew that angels are real,
I've only heard of them in fairy tales,
but here you are
and here i stand
if you're a fairy girl,
then, i'm a fairy man

i know not what to say
i know not what to do,
but a long and loving life,
it's my dream to be with you,
I've hoped for an angel every day,
I've hoped every time

you are not a normal human being
you are not a normal girl
no! i forgot
you are an angel,
you are my angel,

It rain the baseball bat is not broken

if we fall, the ground is ready to carry, if we slept the
soil is freaky and if we toe to the mud, the whole body
will get uneasy

as we go on high life lighted us to fall and as we sip us
down the gravity magnetized ourselves living behind no
traces of time

life comes in the most splendid moment, we where not
the entity of neither the past nor the spirit of the future, but we
are the living being of this moment

a time to see of what is today, life to ponder of what will
be the presence of the next moment, very elusive to
believe yet! a revealing of what life must be for the next
tomorrow

though it rain the game is still the final decision, where
life as to go on, without fear of no where to end, always
see the beauty, nor close your eyes that behind the rain

sun is dawning for you to live......
