When My Shadow Is Small
my favorite bridge is close
peeling paints, rusting steel
water beneath beautiful still
fishes passing; crabs digging
seaweeds dance with currents will
rocks love kisses from waves
heron stood in middle of lake
spearing unknowing minnows
tiny ripples reach sea grass
unblinking fat frog still hide
me alone standing atop a rock
with smile i watch all of that
