Stories of My Heart

Story book of my unfolding life,
Anxiously flipping pages,
Hopeful that it will be clear
What was mine
And what was witnessed.
I claim them all in my heart,
Though on occasion
My body mercifully passed over
Instead of her usual sacrifice.
Falling from that ledge, loved,
Abused, wrestling between
Inspiration and the wants of a child,
Heart bleeding over the pages,
Accidentally exposed, aroused
Under a steady running shower
And at the mercy of a beautifully
Winding road.

This is only the beginning
Of your journey into the heart
And mind of this poet,
A peak into the world that
Owns and controls her when
Inspiration is tugging at her dress
Like a hungry child begging
For a snack before dinner.
Welcome to a place where
Even the writer wants to know
“what will be next? ”

Thank you for stopping by
And please share my lair
With others if this is
Such a place that you
Should like to visit
as a friend from time to time.
All visitors are welcome here.
