Spring Funeral
At my grandfather's funeral
obese lady playing preacher
looking dike and butch
but missing the flannel cut off
and biker tattoos
preaching a sunday mass
celebrating the death of Jesus
not the long life lived by grandpa
a time to live, a time to die
a time to reap, a time to sow
'for everything turns, turns, turns
there is a season turns, turns, turns'

a smile creeping from behind my frown
on and on she goes
