My Neighbor, Less Than Two
Like a miniature clown across the street
You can't help but love him-he's awfully sweet
It's hard to fault him, he's less than two
Full of chuckles and devilment, his name's Andrew
When he sees us walk on the street outside
He pounds his windows-we've no place to hide
With a smile and a laugh we're forced to go in
A circus of happiness can now begin
He loves to be cuddled and lifted high
I laugh out loud-my back gives a sigh
Chattering and yammering about his own things
We hide the confusion his talking brings
A young Tom Edison he loves the light
He'll point out a fixture, and yell 'My Yight'
He stands on his toys to reach the switch
And on goes the Yight, without a hitch
He loves to hide behind the couch
To find him it's part of his play
When you catch him hiding with a great big smile
He laughs and it makes your day
When you give him chocolate and other candy
He's less taken with laughing and hugs
He'll fly around the room with a chocolate face
Stomping candy into the rugs
For all young clowns the show has an end
And neighbors who duck out of sight
As the trouble, yelling and crying begin
We depart in the fading twi-yight
